One of our favorites in downtown Ann Arbor. You can always count on consistency and quality of ingredients in all their dishes. We enjoy dining at the bar for the added social interaction. Our servers were very friendly, attentive and took great care of us. Tonite we had the pickled tomatoes, which are marinated with basil, and some type of vinaigrette, served in a small jar. All we can say is the flavors are amazing if not addictive :) Served with whipped ricotta, olive tapenade and 2 slices of toasted sourdough. Tip: order extra of the toasted bread, when you order, it's so good and you will need it as the portions of ricotta, tapenade and tomatoes are generous. We then ordered the Arugula and Prosciutto pizza. Awesome flavors, great crust, would definitely order again. It gets busy, so suggest reservation's. Good spot and fantastic service. Has an upscale vibe and not too expensive. Good food and good portions. I had the carbonara on my first night going there and I wasn't a fan of it probably because they use tagliatelle. Didn't taste authentic like what I've had in Italy. The second night I had the pappardelle bolognese which I highly recommend. For dessert I had the cannoli - maybe I just don't like cannoli but it did look good and authentic. We arrived on an early Sunday evening around 5:30pm and it was about a 20min wait. I was surprised so many people were eating so early! The bathrooms are downstairs and it's very dim lighting. The server was really friendly and helpful! It was packed inside! Glad we were seated away from the open crowded area. We ordered Calamari, Bucatini Cacio e PePe, Pappardelle, and Shrimp Scampi Linguine. The Calamari was pretty spicy but had good flavor. I did not like how big and how many peppers were put in the Cacio e PePe. It was way too strong and got stuck in my teeth (not pleasant). I wish they asked before putting the pepper in. Pappardelle was the best dish. It was a little salty but tasted good. The Shrimp Scampi also had good flavor but was really spicy!! Street parking seemed to be free on Sunday. We arrived early on a Friday night (4:30ish) to have cocktails & dinner before a game. We were seated right away and the dining room had filled by the time we left just before 6. For a chilly fall night, I selected the mulled wine. Not bad. We then enjoyed calamari, and split two pizzas for three of us. Both pizzas were delicious - I especially liked the arugula-prosciutto one. We had zero leftovers! Service was good, if not particularly memorable. Mani is a favorite of our son, so we try to stop in on periodic visits back to Ann Arbor. While I've not yet sampled their pasta dishes, I recommend it for a night out. read more

Such a delicious meal! I started with the elderberry spritz, very refreshing, and chicken pastina soup, delicious. I could eat that soup every single day! My favorite thing there is the pickled tomatoes. Be sure to order extra bread because you're going to need it. I could eat the tomatoes alone for a meal. They also have really great drinks. Went here this afternoon with my family and very much enjoyed the entire experience. Staff were super friendly, the whole place was very classy. The bread was fantastic. I felt like the portion wasn't super big for bread that was not complimentary, but it was so good. Very light and the honey butter was excellent. The soup was also nice, i liked that it was chicken meatballs. We got all 3 of the d&l chicken. They were able to do a substitution for my mom with some garlic and that was very appreciated. My one note is that i would have liked a noodle base for my chicken, it needed something for all of the very strong sauce, something to soak it up if you will. They also have an inciardi print machine which is an added bonus! Overall it is a good place to be for a nicer than average meal. Still casual enough but can be fancy too. read more

The food was absolutely delicious and creative. The carbonara was (black) peppery and amazing, the egg made the sauce rich and savory. I loved the goat cheese but I felt the bread ratio was too low. The Brussels were very enjoyable! The mushrooms were recommended but I felt they were a bit plain. The portions were somewhat small/ medium but I was full with leftovers. The location is very loud, but fun. Our waitress was amazing and helpful with the menu questions we had. It was very busy on a Friday evening, but the food was steadily coming out. The wait was 100% worth it. The star of the night? The red onion and pistachio pizza. I've never had pistachios on a pizza before, but paired with what I believe was goat cheese, red onions, garlic, and chili flakes--it was out of this world. A perfect balance of sweet, savory, creamy, and just the right amount of heat. My husband had the chicken parmigiana, which was a generous portion and absolutely delicious. The ambiance is lively and stylish--though it can get a bit noisy during peak hours--but that just adds to the energy. This is a destination downtown restaurant. It's on Liberty Street which runs east to west from State Street to Main Street, which the State of Michigan ranks as the busiest street in Michigan. It's a vibrant area with two movie theaters and many unique restaurants. While it can be a little noisy the quietest place to sit is on one of the stools overlooking the kitchen. The bar is also a good place to sit. It's on a corner with lots of windows. I highly recommend the pizzas, pickled tomatoes, and all of the salads. read more

A warm, inviting Italian restaurant perfect for a cold snowy day! Went with a party of 3 on Sunday night for dinner. Arrived at 6:15 and there was only a 5 min wait. The three of us shared the arancini and three pastas. The vodka rigatoni was my favorite--perfectly tomatoey with some spice. The arancini was great too. Only thing to be aware of is the pasta portion sizes are on the smaller end, so only eating one plate of pasta (no apps/dessert) would probably not fill you up. The restaurant has outdoor and indoor seating, and vibes were overall lively and fun! For cocktails, we tried the white and red sangria - personally, loved the white sangria as it was very refreshing. Had arancini and focaccia for apps which were yummy. They don't take reservations here, we went on a thursday night and only had to wait about 25 minutes, for three people, which was great. I have heard mixed things because of the no reservation policy so if you can get in definitely take it. We sat outside, which I would recommend if the weather permits, otherwise the inside is very nice. We started off with the arancini and the meatballs. Both were great but would recommend the arancini over the meatballs; they were nothing too remarkable. We then got the arugula and porsuitto pizza, carbonara, and seafood pasta. The pizza was so good and served with spicy red pepper flakes and hot oil, for sure ask for the oil. The carbonara was good but a little too egg yolky so I would skip this. And the seafood pasta was a special, I believe, but if available I would recommend. So many of the pastas sound great that I would be comfortable and excited to explore those as well.
