I love a good salad, so I was excited to finally check out sweetgreen while in Ann Arbor recently. Nate and I chose this location for its proximity to another spot we wanted to visit (York) as well as its available parking lot vs. the downtown location. I had browsed the menu a bit beforehand, and decided I wanted the caramelized garlic steak protein plate. They also have bowls (greens + grains base) and salads. Unfortunately they were all out of the steak and it was going to be a 10 minute wait, and they were also out of the roasted sweet potatoes so I ended up kind of building my own bowl with mixed greens, rice, blackened chicken, tomatoes, mushrooms, broccoli, and pesto vinaigrette. I liked that they mixed up the bowl for me since it can be tough to mix in those small to-go containers. They also asked if I wanted light, regular, or heavy dressing - I said regular, but would probably go light next time. We also got a piece of bread on the side. They have a designated outdoor seating area by the parking lot, which was great for the nice day. I loved my bowl and everything was super fresh and very flavorful. It was also a huge portion! We definitely could have split one bowl. I will say that it was super salty. Nate liked his shroomami bowl even though we both thought the kale could have been massaged a bit to make it softer. I'm hoping sweetgreen will expand to Grand Rapids - we do have CoreLife but I'd love to have this option too! read more

Sweetgreen isn't just 5-star fast food, it is 5-star food PERIOD I have never eaten in the restaurant, preferring instead to order online in advance for quick, easy pickup. I have ordered both bowls and salads. I never have created my own because they just already do it so good! My current favorites are the steakhouse chopped bowl and Buffalo chicken salad. The green goddess dressing is also a must. The ingredients are ultra fresh and the salads are nicely balanced on the ingredients, not to much lettuce for all the rest of the toppings as they have mastered the perfect ratio. The bread is fine, nothing special, and I usually skip it. I am a big fan and suggest you give it a try for fresh, healthy, delicious, fast food! read more

3 stars for this sweetgreen and I'll tell you why. The rating would be lower, but the food is actually good. The problem is this sweetgreen is spoiled by the brand's positive reputation and all the business received from online/3rd party app orders, that they really seem to not care at all about in-person customers. They seem to have forgotten at this location that customers are real people that can physically order in the store as well, and we want a pleasant ordering experience too. I had an astonishing bad in-person experience here a few months ago, I swear this is 100% real. There were signs plastered around the mall, at least 3 of them, for sweetgreen's new caramelized garlic steak. Enticed customer me walked in, tried to order it, and was told "sorry, it's going to be like 20 minutes." I had some time and really wanted to try the steak, so I went for a walk and came back. AFTER RETURNING TWENTY MINUTES LATER I was told, "uhhh...it's going to be a wait. You should get a different protein instead." Infuriating because I'm pretty sure they had more steak in the back, but it was reserved for app orders. Besides not giving a crap about in-person orders, they really need to give bigger portions for what they're charging. I expect my bowl to be loaded for what I pay for it, but it looks tiny in those geometric containers they use. Also DON'T GET THE STEELHEAD it's the tiniest piece of fish and always dry. read more

I've been a sweetgreen fan for a while now, but I was only able to eat it when I was visiting the east coast. So, I'm stoked they've now expanded to Michigan. Of the two locations, this is my go-to! It's not only convenient as its in the Arbor Hills plaza, but the staff here are just SO friendly and willing to help. Also, this location doesn't feel super skimpy like the other one. I love that the Michigan locations partner with Zingerman's so that they have their DELISH rosemary focaccia! I always pay the extra $2 for it. I've been starting to branch out to try new salads and bowls, but my usual lately has been the: MISO STEELHEAD PLATE - which is a regional offering - Roasted steelhead, hot roasted sweet potatoes, kale cabbage slaw, warm wild rice, miso sesame ginger dressing. It's super clutch that they list their macros as well. I don't count my macros anymore, but it's good to know! read more

So clearly, they do not want you to dine in here. Dropped by on an early Sunday evening, looking for a light bite. Waited a bit. Finally acknowledged only to find out there is no dine in available because they are out of forks. Now, there is no sign on the door about the issue. No carryout only, etc. At least at the other Ann Arbor locale, there was online notification that they were out of salmon. It is how we ended up here only to be further disappointed. So maybe try to put something online? Maybe track your utensil usage? I mean, there are a billion places you could grab forks from to maybe not completely leave people without an option. Some people do still like an option for dine in when they live more than 15 minutes away. So yeah, based on what I've witnessed as far as stocking and customer care, I am not a fan of Sweetgreen. read more

I love a sweetgreen moment and this location is super cute with the outdoor seating area! Their salads always taste super fresh and everything is perfectly chopped and their dressings are so flavorful! App ordering and pick up is always a breeze and super convenient when on the go. The only negative is that every other time we do pick up we end up finding that something is missing or was made incorrectly. One time we had their steelhead miso bowl on our order and we opened it up to find the fish (ie the main component of the dish) missing. However, we still get sweetgreen pretty frequently so clearly we like it enough to come back! But we definitely check our to go orders before driving away. read more

I was happy to see a healthy fast food alternative to the burger and pizza places in the Arbor Hills outdoor mall. Sweetgreen offers indoor and outdoor seating. It has a diverse menu that allows you to mix a variety of fresh and healthy proteins and carbs. There are salads and warm bowls that can be filled with ingredients like quinoa, wild rice, roasted sweet potatoes, baby spinach, and kale. Most of the proteins offered are chicken, but there are also salmon and shrimp dishes. I customized my Chicken Pesto Parm bowl on the Sweetgreen app, which also offered a discount. It was delicious and filling. I would love to see a Sweetgreen location open around Plymouth or Canton. read more

Service is solid. Employees are professional and friendly and my order has always been on time and accurate. I enjoy the chipotle chicken bowl and was disappointed to learn it will be a limited item. But, I have enjoyed it so much that I am sure I can find a new bowl to love next. Greens and veggies have been fresh and crisp. The herbs are also very fresh. I believe they make their own dressings too, as they taste incredibly fresh with the green goddess having fresh dill. I joined their rewards program and they offer half off bowls about once a month; at that price-point they are worth it. Their spicy cashew dressing is incredibly spicy, be careful. We've ordered from this sweetgreen location twice now and I really love it! My partner is obsessed with the kale caesar (add hard-boiled egg, and order the rosemary focaccia to make your own quick croutons at home -- croutons are really the major thing missing from this salad). I've ordered the harvest bowl and the chicken pesto parm, the latter of which is by far my favorite. The harvest bowl was definitely good but a little skimpy on the toppings, so I felt like I got cheesed a little when I opened it to find 90% dry kale. The other week I was in sweet greens and I was ordering food, the food was tasty fresh and not one piece of green stuff was wilted 100 percent crispy delight. The service was on point the crew ran good and the management was respecting their underlings. There was this short black man not even 5 feet i suck an measuring but very short he was cleaning an running around so effectively it was hard not to notice. A mixed women with curly short hair was directing and working side by side looked like she was a manager for sure but damn she was driving the team forward. It was such an experience just to watch for a minute or two how busy a kitchen can get. The ambiance was clean an efficient. After finishing my mean I asked what the two peoples names were and they told me Amon and Kass. Thanks for such a great experience at my first meal for sweet greens. read more
