A visit that was long overdue
    Thomas G.

Since being charmed by the Noodles & Company location in downtown Chicago, I sought out locations around Chicago, and Chicagoland particularly within a radius of my stomping grounds. Now along with bookmarking those locations, I have even joined the Noodles Rewards program which has certainly been a pleasure being part of. Since being part of the program, I anticipate checking emails received because not only does it give me the chance to visit Noodles & Company, but also the chance to save on whatever is offered, which is an opportunity I do not have with other restaurants I enjoy. After having this location on my radar for some time, I finally visited after a long day of working at my secondary job in the area. Looking through the menu, I would have loved to have ordered the Pasta Fresca with IMPOSSIBLE Chicken, but I did not see it featured on the Uber Eats menu. So, I ended up ordering the Pad Thai with Sautéed Shrimp as my protein instead which had my interest as an alternative. Whether it be Grubhub or Uber Eats, I love ordering online because it is convenient. Most of the time my orders are completed upon my arrival or near complete. By the time I arrived onsite my order was waiting behind the counter during this ordering experience. Picking up was just confirming my name, order, and I was well on my way like a villain dressed in a black-and-white hooped shirt and pants, a red cape, a wide-brimmed hat, and black gloves. That is the Hamburglar, a McDonald's character for you youngsters out there reading this review, tehehe. Grateful to have had a smooth online ordering experience because the likelihood of me ordering online again at the location is very high. Nicely presented inside of sustainable packaging, I wasted no time eating the Pad Thai after taking pictures to share on yelp. It was fresh tasting with even a satisfying portion given. So delicious was my first forkful of the rice noodle stir-fry which resulted in me dancing as I ate each bite while inside of my kitchen, leaving not even a crumb behind once I finished. Along with the rice noodle stir-fry, the Pad Thai came with scrambled egg, napa, red cabbage, citrus, peanuts, and topped with scallions; I opted out of the cilantro being that I am not fond of anything spicy. I highly recommend the Pad Thai, if you have stumbled on my review and are open to trying anything featured on the menu. Along with the location downtown Chicago, I would gladly consider visiting and ordering from this location in Niles again. I was bummed that the location nearest to my primary job in River Forest closed, which just leaves me left with visiting either the location within downtown Chicago, or this one in Niles. Atmosphere: 4 | Service: 5 | Food: 4 Recommendations: Buttered Noodles, Pad, Thai, Penne Rose, Wisconsin Mac & Cheese, Pasta Fresca, Pesto Cavatappi, Spaghetti with Marinara, LEANguini Rosa or LEANguini Fresca. Other recommendations: Thoroughly looking at the menu which lists what items are vegetarian, gluten sensitive, or spicy. And also joining the Noodles Rewards program because it will save you money. ~ Dream. shine. sparkle. ~ Thomas G

    Steak dinner bowl
    Gladis I.

It's been a while for any of my reviews but, I thought this one needed me to celebrate them. They greet you with a smile which is awesome for me. The menu is different and bold so if you have never tried this place you will be surprised as to how delicious the bowls are. I had the lemon garlic shrimp scampi and I asked for a small bowl just in case it was too much food. It was fettuccine with a delicious sauce with shrimps and artichoke and roasted cherry tomatoes and fresh spinach topped with parmesan and lemon. I was in heaven and small bowl was sufficient with baguette bread. My wife had the spicy Korean steak noodles which was also super good her bowl had sweet and spicy Korean style sauce with marinated steak, napa and red cabbage, spinach and cucumber topped with green onions and cilantro. It look so good I was eyeing it too. We both had ice tea. I was happy we stopped here after shopping I didn't feel like getting home to start a late dinner with baquette bread. We had no room for dessert, I'm happy we ordered the small bowls. A must go to restaurant for a quick delicious lunch or even a dinner. The place was clean and the servers were very sweet. They give you a number and bring the food to the table.

Zucchini Roasted Garlic Cream Zoodles with steak
    Karyn M.

I haven't been to a Noodles & Company in a long time, since I starting cutting carbs from my diet. I stopped in and saw that they offer zoodles ( how long has this been offered?). I had roasted garlic cream sauce with zucchini noodles and added steak. This was delicious. The zoodles were fresh and green and a nice width. The sauce was a little thin, although nicely flavored and the addition of the steak made this a substantial lunch. It was served very hot, the portion was way more than I needed, and was very filling and satisfying. Even better, I won't have that carb sleepiness/crash when I go back to my desk and start staring at the screen. In fact, I feel quite energized. Thanks Noodles & Company, I appreciate the healthy options!

    Penne Rosa
    Sami U.

I ordered the Penne Rosa today for lunch and it was yummy and fresh! Will be ordering again!! Yum!!

Their chicken is always cold and stale, and their portions are never full. I've ordered chicken Caesar from this location multiple times and the bowl is always half full at most. I don't have this problem at other their locations.

Mac and Kids Wisconsin Mac & Cheese
    Ryan L.

This is what your mac & cheese will look like when you come in 30 minutes before closing. I get coming in 30 minutes before closing sucks, but there were no customers waiting in line. There was no need to rush the food. Even if we stayed later, there were still other customers sitting down, still eating their food. This is not the first time it's happened either, it's always this location. Old Orchard was great, when we showed up 30 minutes before closing..

Med salad! Awesome with their Parmesan crusted chicken!!
    Joani O.

This is the original location near us and now that the newer Touhy store has closed, they are busier than ever. My daughter is a Noodles fanatic, usually going for the steak stroganoff, the pesto pasta or their Mac & cheese. (They now have several varieties.) There are a few dishes that I like, but I mainly stick with the Med salad and upgrade the grilled chicken to their Parmesan crusted. Today I changed up and got the Chicken Veracruz salad, and it was awesome! So many ingredients and they all blended well together. It is spicy, though, so be prepared. I had the tomato bisque too and it was good as usual. Oh and they have Honest iced tea which I love. I can't wait to have this salad again and I want my husband to try it too. He will love it.

All of my mushrooms I picked out from my order with "no mushrooms "
    Nicole S.

I am currently sitting in this noodles right now waiting 20 minutes for my food. They have one person making the food and everyone else sitting around on their phones. We have a party of 4 and one girl got her food before everyone else and finished before we even got the other 3 orders of food. I understand places are short staffed right now, but maybe don't have employees standing on their phones where customers can see if you're going to make them wait 20+ minutes for noodles. I got my food as I'm writing this and it isn't even correct to top it off. I'd send it back but don't want to wait another 20 minutes.

I always come here when my pregnancy cravings want Alfredo noodles! But my last order had been messed up I called to let them know so for my next order they could add and take what had been messed up from the one before but they offered me a free bowl! On my next visit I had told them about what happened last time and apparently the lady I had talked to forgot to write my name and a manager had to come and figure out the situation. He ended up giving me two free bowls! I felt so bad and offered to pay one but he insisted on giving me a free order. I don't remember his name or any of the lady's I've talked to but the manager was super nice and understanding one of the best experiences I've had here. Thanks noodles and company for having good such a good staff! Buffalo grove IL LOCATION!!!

Our server, I think his name was Jose, was very professional, courteous, and friendly. He came back to check on us numerous times and was very quick bringing anything we needed. We had the asparagus salad, the Darte salad, the grilled shrimp appetizer, the grilled vegetables, the grilled calamari, the carpaccio of octopus, and chicken Parmesan. At the start, they brought out bread, olive oil and grated cheese. The bread was a little dry on the outside, but it was warm. The asparagus salad was missing something - maybe salt? It just felt like it lacked flavor even though it had Gorgonzola cheese on it. The grilled vegetables, however, were perfect. It was a combination of one longstem, artichoke heart, one long grilled carrot, a couple of slices of zucchini, and a couple of asparagus. We had asked for them to be well grilled and they were sort of, I can't imagine how few grill marks they would have on them if they hadn't done what he had asked. The Darte salad was a nice size portion with mixed greens, golden and regular raisins, and walnuts. The balsamic vinaigrette is nice and flavorful, and doesn't separate the way it can at some places. The grilled shrimp were very good, nicely seasoned and very well charred. The grilled calamari were great, although they were quite small. There were many more of them than on the pictures. The carpaccio of octopus was very nicely, presented with very thin slices of octopus a nice bright dressing over it and the greens. The chicken Parmesan was a very large portion with the breaded chicken cutlet underneath a large layer of cheese ravioli all topped with marinara sauce, and then cheese, which was browned very well, it was very tasty. For dessert we had two different gelato - the maple bourbon, which would go great with a banana cake and the hazelnut chocolate, which was unbelievably flavorful and smooth. The pistachio and ricotta cake looks very good, but we didn't want to get three desserts. Maybe next time!

The first two bites filled my mouth with savory flavor, but afterwards it didn't stimulate my taste buds. There is a lot of cheese on the bottom of the crust and the meat, sauce and topping just sits on top of it so there's no flavor to the cheese. It's just a thick melted cheese. Elizabeth the waitress was really nice and she suggested I get the butter crust. She let me know the butter makes the crust crispy. Once again not a lot of flavor to the crust it was just crispy in spots and then clumps of dough stuck to the cheese. I eventually just removed my toppings and left the cheese and crust on the plate. I would have liked to take a bite out of my pizza and received a combination of flavors but the amount of cheese on the bottom takes away from the full savory pleasure of eating the toppings. It's so thick you could choke on the cheese. The crust didn't have a flavor either. At one point I thought I tasted like baking soda or powder. The crust really only served as a shell. The restaurant was nice. They put me next to a lovely fireplace. I wish they had lit it. It was chilly out that day and the fireplace would have really given a warm inviting ambiance to the room. The staff made up for the lack there of and everyone was really kind. It ended up that Elisabeth forgot to return my credit card and didn't catch it either, so unfortunately I had to make a long trek back out to the restaurant and then rush to the airport to catch my flight. Everyone was very welcoming and I enjoyed talking to them while I waited to get my card back. I wouldn't go back there for deep dish but I have a friend who raves about Malnati's deep dish pizza, so please don't let my experience with my pizza stop you from going. The staff was really nice and that definitely made up for it.

We were a little surprised when nothing was done for it, which isn't a big deal, but I'll be honest it was disappointing since we did come specifically to celebrate and had talked about it w our server. 3/5 Arancini - Very salty. None of us really enjoyed them because of that. They also came out lukewarm instead of hot. Would have been excellent if it was less salty and came out hot and crispy. 5/5 Fig & Mushroom (subbed for prosciutto) - The menu doesn't specify how the fig is served. Turned out to be fig jam rather than fresh fig, which wasn't what we expected. A little too sweet for me but overall still very much enjoyed it. Their pizza was cooked perfectly with enough toppings and cheese. Very good pizza! 5/5 Braised Short Rib + Polenta - so good! The short rib was excellent, just slightly salty. The polenta was perfect, and it came with a generous portion of wild mushrooms. 2/5 White Wine Cake (recommended as "unique") by our server - This was the most disappointing meal item. Our waitress told us it was special, but it was very bland and didn't match the description or image on their website. Their website showed a cake with a large scoop of ice cream on top, fair amount of whipped cream and raspberry sauce. Ours came with maybe a quarter of the size of that ice cream scoop, a little teaspoon dollop of whipped cream that you eat in one bite and the raspberry sauce was a tiny smear on bottom for decor but there wasn't enough to actually eat it. The cake itself was moist but lacked flavor. It took a really long time to come out, we thought perhaps they forgot, then forgetting we were celebrating a birthday on top of that was disappointing. Atmosphere - Beautiful space, very well done. The only issue is how close the tables are, you can't pull your chair back without hitting someone, and getting to the bathroom requires asking others to move because of how tight the layout is. Overall, we really enjoyed it and would return. While there were a few dishes we wouldn't order again, and others we would. Would love to try the wild mushroom pizza next time! The only thing was that since we had come to celebrate a birthday and didn't end up doing that, the night felt a little less special than we had expected--but still a nice experience overall.
