Noodles Asian Bistro has the best deep-fried shrimp (dim sum) ball and bang bang chicken. Everything was cooked freshly, you saw the steam coming from the plate. I did enjoy my food, but the customer service could've been better. It was only one young lady working the floor when I walked in. Other customers came in after me but no one was standing at the door to greet them or seat them. The customers seated themselves because of the wait. We had a large family gathering here right before Christmas to celebrate my grandmother's 90th birthday. They definitely serve traditional Cantonese style cuisine here. The fried rice and lobster were excellent, and the dim sum was also excellent (we came back for dim sum the next day). However, the quality of some of the dishes was slightly off. For example, the bird's nest dish was not crispy, and the sauce on the sweet and sour pork was not as flavorful as I'm used to tasting. Food aside, my main gripe about this place is how slow they are in getting out the food. Dinner took about 4 hours (granted, we had events going on, but I'm thinking it should have taken about 3). Dim sum took about 3 hours. We did have large gatherings at dinner and dim sum, but they still need to vastly improve their output time. read more

This place has decent quantity and quality for the buck, especially in the post pandemic era with high inflation/cost of living. They have several menus, which was a bit confusing. There were a dim sum menu with pictures, a Chinese menu with mostly lo mein and other fried/wok dishes, and an American dinner menu with everything else. We came for dinner so we first asked for the Chinese menu but it didn't have any noodle with soup, and they had to bring us the American menu, which were very Americanized (even the beef in the noodle soup was a bit sweet). Their waitress was super friendly though, and was very patient to explain to us everything. The dim sum dishes tasted good, but they took a very long time to bring out, and we already finished eating the noodles at that time. They even have a buffet option with even more different dishes. I think they are trying too hard to please everyone, and they lost focus and it turned out to be a "jack of all, master of none" kind of situation. Oh, and they even have a drive-thru. I mean, really? What kind of proper Chinese restaurant has a drive-thru? I wish they'd instead focused on cleaning a bit more, cause the floor was sticky, and the hand soup in the restroom was watered down. Ordered for delivery tonight and several things were wrong/missing from my order, and the food we got did not taste right at all. Orange Shrimp came without the sauce and without the rice, so it was just fried shrimp thrown into a box. The combo plate where you can get multiple small orders of entrees with a side were mixed together and not separated, so everything tasted the same. Trying to get my husband to expand his tastes and figured maybe a little of everything would help but not from this place. The noodles were bland, tasteless, and way overcooked/gummy. The fried sugar biscuits tasted like they were cooked in old oil. They didn't give me the soup that I ordered at all. Tried calling the restaurant with no answer. Have requested a refund through UberEats. It's sad because the location in Germantown was always decent when I worked in that area. I was one of only three tables Saturday around 11:30 which I thought was surprising, but they did have a couple of drive through orders because you can hear them as you sit in the dining room. Anyway let me say service was pleasant and attentive throughout the time was there. Worthy of a 5-star rating. Now the food .... I came for dim sum but there was no cart service. Simply mark what you want on the menu. The first two items that came out were the baked char siu bao and and the baked egg tarts (dan tat). Then came the other dishes trickling out one or two dishes at a time. Not s big deal, but the spacing between servings could have been better. Overall the food as pretty good, with the shrimp rice roll my favorite. The roasted duck looked good but didn't have much flavor except for the sauce, which in turn was overpowering. The pork and shrimp siu mai, however was not good. It definitely wasn't fresh, and we agreed the seasoning was off (or the meat was bordering on going bad) in any case, we didn't like it. I'm visiting my dad for the month, and I was super excited to hear that there was dim sum in the area! This was my dad's first time going also. Overall, the food was amazing! We got two orders of chicken feet (dad's favorite), taro root cake (my favorite), tripe, steamed rice in lotus leaf, and a dish I cannot remember the name of. They do a great job of persuading you (almost demanding at times) to get a certain dish. That's what happened to the last dish, haha. We also got shrimp dumplings (that they wanted us to get two orders of, haha). For cleanliness, our table was sticky. The floors were sticky also as you walked. Lastly, I was pretty disappointed to be seated where the overhanging light fixture didn't work. Would I come back? Certainly! There isn't any dim sum where I live (in California). read more

Ordered online and picked up in the drive-thru. Someone should check on the cook. They are clearly mad or sad and it is affecting the quality of the food they are serving. No seasoning and no love. Fried rice is completely barren...no onions, eggs, or veg of any kind. My soup tastes scorched and is also devoid of flavor. The only thing that had any taste is the sauce pouted over the sesame chicken but even that was disappointing. Inalso ordered beef and twice fried noodles.. the beef is good.. First time I've visited this restaurant since 2002 when it used to be called China Royal. When I heard that they have a buffet, I thought perhaps things are looking up. I knew as soon as I walked into this place that either me or my mom would not leave without one of us having to pay a visit to the John. And guess what..my mom drew the short straw :). One side of the restaurant was closed, it was dark, it was totally outdated, the place looked like it was falling apart w/ zero maintenance, and lastly had code enforcement and health inspection written all over it. The food is filling and with over 60 kinds of dim sum, for sure you would be able to find something you enjoy - even if you are vegetarian! For me the stands out that I would order again were the noodles - a big plateful, the Chinese broccoli (lovely sesame- oyster sauce taste), the Deep fried Taro pop, pan fried taro cake, and the shrimp & chive dumplings. I had wanted to try the eggplant stuffed with shrimp but that plate didn't come out till the end and by then I was too stuffed to get it, so that will have to wait to be tried another time! It's really a conundrum to understand what Memphians appreciate when it comes to taste and flavor. They can't get enough "Tennessee-Mex" while complaining about authentic Latin food. They'll rave about franchise, big box "Asian-inspired" casual settings and look down their noses at bona fide Asia-Pacific cuisine. They make one trip to Cali and they think they've been to the Far East. Noodles Asian Bistro has two locations in the Memphis area. Bartlett and Germantown. Fresh ingredients and a potpourri of Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai and Japanese. A very delightful blend of Asia's finest. A must-try is the assorted selection of Bubble Tea Smoothies. One sip and you'll downright neglect your daily allowance of kcals. The atmosphere is inviting, clean and the staff is very friendly and attentive. So "y'all" give your taste buds a break from those monotone Mid-South "let's add some pulled pork" menus and give real food a try. read more

Being the Duke of this place and also getting some flack about not having a review for a while, I'm finally writing a review for this place. The reason why it's taken me so long, well... the original Noodles Asian Bistro in Germantown is plain horrible. The flavors are awful; it's either bland or too sweet; and the service is non-existent. But Noodles Asian Bistro in Bartlett is one of the best Chinese restaurants in this area! Service is good and friendly. It has some of the most authentic vegetable quick fries (stirred fried vegetables). It has authentic noodles. Very fresh seafood and lobster. It also has the very best dim sum of this area; although they only have a single competitor, I would say the quality is comparable to places even in St. Louis (no match for Atlanta though). I come here like every weekend now. I don't do that for Asian Palace (the other dim sum place), and this place is way further. I also need to clarify that I've never ordered from the American menu here. I think it's the same menu as Germantown's. Due to that, I can't figure the English name of the quick fry I love. But it's got Chinese Yams, dried radish, and goji berries in it. One thing strange about this place is that I would imagine that this place much like Asian Palace and the late Golden Coast should be packed for lunch on Saturday and Sunday. But it isn't. Do people not know of this place yet? Is this place too far? Or did the food Noodles Asian Bistro served at the original Germantown location just turned people off? In the end, even though I would say this place nearly perfect in terms of their service and the food in the authentic menu, I would have to dock a point for possibly serving that awful food from the American menu, if it's anything like the Germantown location. I just don't get how you can do so awful on the American menu and so good on the Authentic one. Unlike Mulan, another Chinese restaurant in the area with an authentic menu and an American menu, there's nothing on either menus I wouldn't eat. So back to Noodles, I think docking one point is well-deserved. I hope the owner isn't going to hate me now! read more

Came here for Sunday brunch, so it was pretty busy and service was still great. There is a language barrier but they seem to have an idea what you are talking about...and if you know what you want you can just point. There is also a menu with pictures to help you if you don't know what things are called. I would definitely recommend going here for dim sum, although I hear that they only roll the carts around for lunch so i would go around this time. Thanks to my fellow yelpers I had the opportunity to try Dim Sum. For those of you who do not know, Dim Sum is a style of Chinese cuisine prepared as small bite-sized portions of food traditionally served in small steamer baskets or on small plates (thanks google LOL ). The experience of Dim Sum was definitely different but one that I enjoyed. As soon as you are seated, you are served tea and servers bring around their little cart asking you if you want this or that. They are very fast and literally shoving food at you, which didn't bother me at all since I wanted to try everything. Since I went with my Asian crew (love y'all), they recommended that I try several different things. I even tried chicken feet which to my surprise wasn't horrible. Lunch at Noodles was disappointing. We love the Thai coconut curry with chicken, but the waitress didn't believe us when we asked for one person's plate to be medium-spicy and the other person's plate to be very, very spicy. Both were barely even mild. The other thing is that the waitress was very rude about my weight: She looked me up and down from head to toe skeptically when I asked for a booth; then when she stopped in front of two and gestured toward them, I sat down in one. At that point, she looked me up and down again carefully, then at the other booth, and said we should move to the other one because "maybe it would work better." Very, very, very insulting. I first came to this place was when they started to offer Dim sums. I used go to Asian Palace on summer for Dim Sums, but that place has gone down in term of quality over the years. During first few times, the food was excellent and service was decent. But during recent visits it was disappointing probably due the place is popular now and that they can't keep up with the high traffic flow. Nonetheless, this is still one of the better Chinese Restaurants in the 901 area code. Besides the usual Dim Sums, the Beef Stir Fried Noodles is excellent! As for the interior, it has this odd combination of the yellow and purple. But once you get seated it's very cozy and comfortable. Above all, this is great place for family and friends, they probably just need to hire more workers during rush hours. read more

My dad was in the mood for noodles yesterday but wasn't up to going out for dinner. So, I called in 2 orders of udon noodle soup (one with chicken and one with shrimp). I picked it up about 20 minutes later and carried out a very heavy bag full of deliciousness. The udon broth was perfect - exactly what it should be. Noodles were thick and cooked just right. The only other ingredients (besides the shrimp and chicken) were shiitake mushrooms and a little bit of green). Price was great - just under $20 for 2 meals...and there's still quite a bit leftover. i would definitely check this place out again to try some of the other dishes, and, of course, some bubble tea. read more

First visit. Really love the architecture. We went on a Thursday afternoon, around 3. I believe we were the only ones there. I ordered the Rainbow Roll & Chicken Lo Mein, husband had the Combo Pad Thai Mild, & we split the pan fried dumplings. The dumplings were very good, not greasy like most pan fried dumplings. The sauce was very flavorful. My only problem with them was that they were served on a bed of brown, shredded lettuce. It would have looked better & cleaner to just serve them straight on the plate with a sprinkle of fresh parsley, rather than a whole sprig. The Rainbow Roll was absolutely beautiful & tasted just as great. The fish on top (Salmon, Tuna, Shrimp, & Yellow Tail) was very fresh & cut thicker than most, which I love. The rice was cooked & seasoned perfectly. The spicy sauce on top wasn't mayonnaise-ey like most places. Very flavorful & spicy. I was pretty full by the time the Chicken Lo Mein came but I still tasted it (& took it home of course!). The snow peas still had the perfect crunch, chicken was cooked through & tender. Husband said his Pad Thai was the best he'd had but that it was a tad sweet. The Pad Thai comes in Mild & Hot, so if you're looking for some heat, we recommend ordering it hot. The spring rolls that came with our entrees were pretty good. We asked if they were hand rolled, which they are not, but they are still pretty good. The sweet & sour sauce served with it could be a tad less sweeter. The only reason I am leaving off a star is because the front waiting area floor was VERY dirty & sticky & the room had a very odd smell. Not very strong, but noticeable. With as slow as it was, the Hostess/Server had enough time to mop it. Also, the special menu with the neon marker could be a little more creative. Overall, awesome Asian restaurant when you want something other than the typical take-out. PS, there is a drive-thru but do not expect McDonalds speed. This doesn't take away from the restaurant.
