WOW WOW WOW! A great authentic find. We FINALLY got a chance to stop by this place after hearing about it for a long time. And the food did not disappoint! Bold, rich, and spicy flavors dominated every single dish we had. And to top it off, the portions are large and great to take home for a second meal. The staff was also incredibly kind and guided us through the menu and helped us to pick out their best dishes. We started with the Spicy Cucumbers which were incredibly crisp and refreshing. The sauce and spices that they are served with were incredibly perfect. We then got the Dan Dan Noodles. They were also surprisingly spicy. The noodles were cooked to perfection. The Chong Qing Pepper Chicken is served with peppers and is very spicy. But it's a "dry spicy." Keep in mind that the chicken is cooked with the bone-in and then chopped up. So you can run into a few bones from time-to-time. The Spicy Boiled Fish was the star of the show. My husband does not care for fish and he was hesitant. However, it quickly became his favorite dish as the fish is not fishy at all. It is served in a beautiful spicy soup-like sauce. And packed with bean sprouts. The fish is melts in your mouth! They are new to the building but have been in business in Aurora for many years. 川 Sichuan 味 Taste 轩 Pavilion the Chinese name of restaurant is focused on Sichuan cuisine. They also do 'America's Popular' dishes like orange chicken but please don't compare here to Panda Express. Here's what I got for takeout: Dan Dan Noodles - 但但面 pronounced Don Don Mian it had pickled vegetables, Sichuan pepper, spicy Chili oil, scallions, cilantro, crushed peanuts, and chickpeas (first time seeing this ingredient for this dish). The Chinese version can be wet with more soup and sesame sauce and sometimes it comes with minced pork. This noodle did not have meat so it could be vegetarian friendly. Before eating the key is to mix it all up like a salad bowl and eat it like it's your last meal on earth. The dry version is sold by street vendors sometimes in a small cups and is known to be called peddlers noodle due it's low cost. If you ever visit a night market in Asia every corner has some sort of noodles similar to this dish. Spicy Sorted Beef - this appetizer is self explanatory it has brisket, tripe, and tendon. It's normally braised and served cold with a spicy marinate to jump start your palate. Because the Dan Dan Noodles did not have meat this appetizer complements the noodles very well in my opinion. The portion was fair and again if your looking for a large portion of extra sweet chicken, go to Panda Express instead. I'm still salivating even after my meal. I asked for garlic bok choy. It comes with rice. Cannot substitute for noodles and cannot add a side of noodles. I asked for Dan Dan Noodles. I asked about the sauce and told it was spicy. I asked for no spice and add veggies. They won't add veggies. Get home and the container has a handwritten note that said "please mix well." It was thin spaghetti noodles with NO SAUCE. So I presume the sauce is spicy and cannot be adjusted. No spice=no sauce. I atop was ground peanuts, cooked cabbage, al dente soy beans and ground pork (about 2Tbs of each). We came here on a Saturday night and the restaurant was certainly busy with their dine in and take out service. We ordered their Dan Dan noodles, five spice beef, cucumber appetizers, and Chong Qing chicken. Wow. Insane flavor with every bite. The noodles were cooked to perfection served with fresh vegetables, marinated meat, and spicy house paste. Possibly the best Dan Dan noodles I've ever had in Denver. The Chong Qing chicken was no exception. This is a hard dish to find in Denver, and most places over charge. Yet nothing was overly spicy, more so the subtle numbing pepper spice. Spicy boiled fish - #1 to-go item, include tons of bean sprouts, boiled fish and served with in chill oil. Chongqing chicken - deep fried chicken with tons and tons of chilly. Eggplant with garlic sauce w/ pork - the heat and sauce of this dish is the perfect combo of sweet and spicy. Tried this place for the first time. The food is incredibly awesome. Been looking for authentic Szechuan since I moved to Colorado from the West Coast where a variety of quality Asian food is plentiful and this place hits the mark. The flavors are fresh and not generic. The ambiance is nothing to write about, but the people who own/work at the restaurant are welcoming and friendly. Definitely will be back -- my go-to for sure. Ordered chicken in garlic sauce, possibly the best version I've had anywhere, complex blend of spices, but not super spicy, home-style eggplant and pork, really good, and bokchoy with garlic, simple and perfectly cooked. Also had the steamed pork dumplings, with a tasty filling (could have been made in-house). All of the dishes avoided the problem of overdoing the sugar, which seems to plague many Chinese and Asian fusion kitchens. If I lived in Denver I'd be a regular patron. I've been wanting to try this place for years, and we finally made it today for lunch! Authentic Szechuan joint in an unassuming strip mall. Quiet. Clean. Friendly and attentive service (regularly refilled our waters, asked how our food was, etc). Spicy boiled fish- I love this dish. Flavorful with tender fish and lots of sprouts. Highly recommend. Dan Dan noodles- tasty but I do wish the noodles were a bit less sticky. Still, it was good and we would order it again. Be sure to mix well. Chong qing chicken- I always forget that it comes with the bones but still, it's one of our fave things to order and this did not disappoint. Lots of spice, Sichuan peppercorns, delicious. Kiddo got the broccoli and beef for lunch. Fresh, crunchy broccoli, tender beef, with a good amount of sauce for flavor. Someone mentioned that the food is "basic and oily" but that wasn't our experience at all. Plus, this is a Szechuan place so if you order from that list and not the "American favorites" section of the menu, you won't be disappointed. There are few authentic Chinese spots in Denver and Colorado in general. Noodle Express is part of my 3 restaurant rotation if I want good Chinese food. The taiwanese and Szechuan dishes are close if not authentic. I've had multiple dishes here and they have not disappointed. The braised eggplant and pork is a staple, and their noodle dishes like the Dan Dan noodles are worth a visit. Recently I've tried their Chongqing Chicken which is really hard to find here and most places either go skimp on the peppercorns or chili, but this bowl of chicken is packed with spices and flavor. It will definitely leave the numbing sensation in your mouth, the spice ends to a point where you just want more! One thing to remember is that these aren't boneless chicken and they fry these pieces with bones in so be careful! I've had boneless Chongqing at other places which I prefer, but the flavor served here can't be beat. read more

I highly recommend both of the fish dishes if you like spicy food, they are my favorite! The preserved pepper fish features fish with fresh chilies while the twice cooked fish features fish with a dried chili and oil-based broth. My favorite noodle dishes is the tomato beef noodle soup (the beef noodle soup and the Dan Dan noodles are also good) - it is flavorful but not in-your-face. My order is not complete without a veggie dish, the eggplant with garlic sauce is a favorite. I wish I didn't live so far from here because I would come at least once a week! We ordered a variety of dishes and when the food came, I tried a little bit of everything and I was really impressed. The eggplant dish was surprisingly good and quite scrumptious! The fried rice was tasty and cooked right. I did find the potato dish to be really spicy. There were jalapenos and their seeds cooked in with the dish! First of all, I liked the location of the place and how nice the server was. I had the original beef noodles and chongqing pepper chicken. The flavor of the soup was good and the beef was good but the noodle is just too soft. The chongqing pepper chicken had a good flavor and not too salty but the bones in the chicken were so small that i kept on biting it when chewing through. The reason for the low stars is that it's so pricey. The menu price on yelp app is outdated. For example, the pepper chicken was $22.95 vs $16 on the menu. It wouldn't be bad for $16 but for $22.95 it's too much. Overall, good traditional place but not for the price. I'd pick Hong Kong station over this for Szechuan food even though it's a little farther out. read more

The reviews don't lie! This place is amazing. I've driven by it several times and always thought it was comparable to Noodles & Company or Samurai Sam's (fast food) but was definitely wrong! I was hungry for fried rice so opened up Yelp and did a quick search and found this place. That is not what they are known for but it steered me to a culinary cornucopia of flavorful dishes with stellar reviews. I decided to order the chicken fried rice, spicy cucumbers, egg rolls, and the Mongolian beef and all of it was amazing. The spicy cucumbers were nice and cool with a dressing that was sweet and spicy but the perfect mix leaving my taste buds wanting more and more. The chicken fried rice was yummy and paired with the crispy egg rolls it made for a wonderful dinner - and lunch for the next day! Mongolian beef is my favorite and the flavor was so savory and delicious and enjoyed every bite. I would highly recommend! This is my go-to place for Schechuan takeout. We've been ordering here for nearly a year. I've never eaten in here- they do have ample seating which appears clean and no-fuss, but it's not much in the way of ambiance. The staff have always been friendly, and the business seems to be family-owned. If you want Americanized kind of Chinese food, they have that with staples like General Tso's, but where their food really shines is with their more authentic dishes. My favorites are the dan dan noodles (make sure to mix up the ingredients before you eat this dish!) and the Mongolian beef! The preserved pepper fish was amazing and comes with rice. Definitely spicy but not overwhelming, the texture is so silky. The buns were top notch. If you're going to try anything, try these.
