My hubs and I dined in Saturday and ordered our usuals and tried something new. I don't understand the bad reviews because the food here is absolutely amazing! What made our night extra special was Matt! He took the time to get acquainted with every table that night and exchanged some great conversations. Matt even let us in on some secret menu things that he let my hubby try and absolutely loved it. It's not often you have amazing interactions with restaurant owners but he was super cool and we left completely satisfied and happy thanks to Matt! We drive a long way just to get our Vietnamese food fix here and it's always worth it!

The place is clean and spacious. The people working here especially our servers are good and nice people. We would definitely go back.

Casual restaurant, has a large menu of items. The name seems more Vietnamese but they serve other Asian dishes from Thai, Korean, and Chinese and a couple Filipino dishes. Food is average, its such a fairly decent menu of things to choose from. Boba available as well and that was pretty good. Service was average as well. We had pho soup, spring rolls, and papaya salad. No complaints - check it out if your interested. Check out the pics.

Don't use the Yelp link to order! The restaurant said it goes through a third party, and I only got my confirmation email after calling to double-check. They told me it's better to order directly from their own website (the one on their paper menu). The food itself was really tasty and nicely presented, but the ordering process was kind of a headache. Our Korean noodles were missing, so we had to drive back to get them. The restaurant mentioned they never even received the order from the third-party system.

Years later, this place is still so fantastic. They have separate entrance for pick up/takeout orders and dining in. Spacious clean and they are super efficient and fast at food prep. We called for multiple orders and they said 25 min but they got it all done in 15! Each food item has a really neat sticker that tells you what the order is in Chinese and English. I have never seen that but it's so neat, I love it. Their drink menu is still so elaborate and fancy! Their drink is also sealed so if you don't puncture the top there's no risk of leaking. Sweet Thai Chili wings-- these got better. It used to be too spicy 4 years ago but now it's not as bad and the flavor is still so deep-- Basil, savory and sweet. Crab Rangoon-- we got these for our kids since they only like fried stuff. They didn't like the cream cheese, but I thought the filling was really well made. You can see plenty of red spots of what the "crab" meat should be. Flavor was actually good, it's just my kids are picky. Pork vermicelli-- I generally don't like vermicelli but these are so good. The vegetables are so fresh and I especially loved the fresh mint leafs. Pork meat is super tender, and they do give decent amount. Pho Dac Biet-- soup flavor is deep, and they give you plenty of toppings and noodles. Since we got take out, I got home and reheated the broth. Rinsed in cold water a few times the fresh bean sprout, Thai basil and lime toppings. Then put noodles and toppings in. It's so good. Awesome cado drink-- this is thick and really well made. But I think I don't really associate avocado with sweet flavor so I'm not a huge fan. I probably will order a more fruity drink next time! The pineapple tea looks good!! Overall, the food has good quantity and quality but is on the more expensive side for sure. With all four orders with a drink it was around $80. I would say it's well worth the price once in a while!

Noodles Pho U covers a wide range of cuisines and normally these are restaurants that we would steer clear of due to its lack of focus. However, we made an exception for this particular restaurant because there are a few items that stand out and the location is conveniently close to our weekend tennis sessions. Here is what we have ordered so far: 1) Fried Vietnamese springs rolls - These egg rolls are longer and thinner than usual and flavor is a bit lacking. 2) Potstickers (pork) - These potstickers are fried rather than pan-seared and the flavors are bland if you don't use the dipping sauce. 3) Japanese gyoza (beef) - This is a better choice than the potstickers even though it is also fried however the dumpling wrap is thinner. 4) Vietnamese coffee - This is a strong brew and vibrantly refreshing. 5) Pho tai 6) Pho tai nam - The broth is very light and could be more vibrant. I am also not a fan of the chuck roll slice but the brisket is good. This is an excellent choice for toddlers and my girls easily shared and finished a bowl. 7) Grilled pork vermicelli bowl - The portion is overwhelmingly generous and enough for me to split in half. The pork is very flavorful, nicely grilled and incredibly tender. The egg roll is decent and kind of bland but the rest of the bowl makes up for it. 8) Bun bo hue 9) Udon noodle soup with chicken - This is a very mild noodle soup that is an excellent choice for toddlers. It's served with bean sprouts, jalapeno, and lime which is similar to what you would do with a bowl of pho. I question the authenticity but my girls happily downed the bowl therefore no complaints from me whatsoever! 10) Banh mi with Vietnamese ham, pork patty, barbecue pork, and liver pate 11) Singapore rice noodle - This was a good surprise. It had a good curry kick with the standard spice level. The amount of shrimp and sliced barbecue pork was abundant. We would definitely order this again. 12) Bibimbap with crispy rice and sliced beef - This was another pleasant surprise. It was a hefty bowl with plenty of crispy rice and sliced beef. The only odd thing is that I didn't expect to find shredded lettuce in this dish but we didn't mind it because consuming more greens isn't usually a bad thing. Service is efficient and friendly. Parking is easy since they have a parking lot. This will continue to be on our list of recurring restaurants and we're looking forward to trying the other menu items such as milk tea and Vietnamese crispy crepe.

I was excited to hear about Noodles Pho U offering halal items. This is only at the Lombard location. I love Phoday, but Noodles Pho U is a shorter drive. I placed an order to take-out: cubed beef over tomato rice and chicken vermicelli. While I was there, I noticed the interior was spacious, so it would be a decent place to eat at. They also had some interesting drinks. The beef over rice was decent, but on the mild side. I think it would be good for kids. The beef was pretty tasty, and the small cubes made it easy to eat. I just wish there was another veggie in there like green bell peppers; I only noticed some sliced onions. The fried egg was a nice touch, though. The chicken vermicelli was also decent. I liked the mix of condiments and the addition of a spring roll. It was somewhat lacking in flavor, but not bad. Overall, I would say the food was good, but both dishes needed a boost of flavor. So far I like Phoday better. I purposely got non-spicy dishes, but next time I think I'll try a spicier dish.

They could have gave a little bit more basil instead of 3 leaves!

Wasn't good last time I went. The pho broth barely bad flavor. So much so, I have to pour soy sauce into it. Very disappointed.

An incredibly good place to get Americanized Asian food. It may be as good as that kind of food gets, and focuses mostly on items like noodles and pho because of course it's in the the name of the place. Noodles Pho U has a few locations and this one is in Lombard in a strip mall among a bunch of chain restaurants. Has some other things like teas with boba. The pho and food is pretty okay but isn't quite anything special. Commonly most people like to come here to get pho especially when the weather is cold. It's unfortunately not that good of a choice for vegetarians but there's some better options. They have lots of other kinds of entrees and some come with a side of rice. I came here recently with a very cute date. This is where we picked because in addition to pho there's also lunch and dinner specials. Also they have drinks. They have Fresh Fruit Spritzer. It's $4.50 for a regular. You choose 2 fruits to mix in this. Also you can add flavor for an extra charge. We knew we weren't going to get pho because there's no kinds that are vegan. Another option that turned out good was the Basil. It's $8.95 for a pretty big portion at lunch. This has steamed rice and a choice of a protein. Lots of vegetables in it. The price for this is okay but there's things a lot more expensive such as the bowls of pho. Has lots of good stuff for cold weather, all this healthy and warm stuff here. It's worth checking out this location or another of these at least once. The pho is okay but don't forget about the rest because this isn't the only thing and it's not for vegetarians.

I used to love this place, until I looked up their menu online. The online menu states that 90% of the 'VEGETARIAN' options contain fish, beef or oyster sauce.. so NOT VEGETARIAN.

I love this place, it's really nice delicious and full of flavors. Pho was really good I finished it all . I got the avocado boba and it was spot on perfectly delicious. The staff are well trained and friendly, knowledgeable about their menu and gives great recommendation. This is my new spot.

Would love to buy one if they were for sale lol Came here around 3:30 pm on a Thursday. Didn't really get busy until a little after 4pm. The small pho size was the perfect size for me. I couldn't even imagine what the big size would have looked like lol. I chose the brisket and beef meatballs. The broth was so delicious, I honestly didn't need to add any of the sauces. I just added lime and bean sprouts to it, for that refreshing crunch. The brisket was tender and thinly sliced. The avocado boba is the best I've had! I have tried a lot of avocado smoothies from any place that has it on their menu. Not a lot of places offer it either. And if they do, they add way too much sweetened condensed milk. I also like that their boba is soft and if my taste buds are correct, it's taste like it's coated in brown sugar. Only thing I would say is the drink is served warmer than what I'm used to. I do prefer my drinks cold. As for the banh mi sandwiches. I've tried the pork and steak. Personally, I wouldnt re purchase the pork because it wasn't as juicy as the steak. The steak also had more flavor. But besides that, I enjoyed the crispy bread, fresh ingredients and they were not stingy on the meat. Highly recommend this place. I would add it into my rotation whenever I'm craving Vietnamese food. But it will definitely be my new go to spot to pick up my favorite avocado smoothie

My friend and I ordered Spring Rolls to…read moreshare (with shrimp and thankfully without ham) and each had a large pho (hers with steak, mine the "advanced pho" with just about everything). The dining room was clean, modern, and had mundane atmosphere like a Chipotle, Roti or Naf Naf Grill. We ordered at the counter and sat down to wait for our food. Service was good and food was fine. My only complaint would be that the beef broth in the pho was not quite as flavorful as some pho restaurants and a little too sweet for my personal taste. I have found other Vietnamese restaurants do this for the American palate and I added chili oil to add balance the flavor. Portions were generous and prices were no bargain. After tax and tip we spent $60 for 2 people with just the appetizer and 2 large bowls of pho.

Service was quick, kind, and the right amount of attentiveness. The P5 (eye round steak & tendon) was delicious and light, with a great kick of optional spice from the jalapeños. The Thai tea and Crab Rangoon combo I got with my pho was delicious and a nice addition to my meal. The H2 (Red Curry Noodle Soup) according to my partner "very delicious" with lots of flavor and spice. Not deathly hot by any means, but it's got a bite. The House Special Bánh mì was also superbly layered with different meats and fresh vegetables, it was so refreshing. Overall, what a nice night! ~$65 after tip, but very worth the try!
