Wings are more like chicken jerky.

Just drive another few minutes and go downtown, or to Hixson or hell drive all the way out to hwy 58. There are better options in all of those places. The all you can eat days are good for those with a big appetite though, and the banana pudding is awesome. I'm local and have been a couple times... this most recent time will be my last. Staff could be more helpful. They let me order an entire family meal a la cart without offering the discount on my sides. It wouldn't have been that big a deal but when I got home I realized they didn't even give me any buns. The pulled pork is smoked well. The wings and ribs leave a lot to be desired. They offer 15 different sides so you can imagine the quality there :/ The sauce reminds me of the stuff they give you at fast food joints. Tons of good bbq options around Chattanooga. The chain stuff around is more consistent and the other local places give you more flavor and offer sides that are more than an after thought.

Not sure if we went at the wrong time or what but I definitely remember Nooga Q being better. We ended up stopping by around 9pm, an hour from close and it turns out we weren't the only people in the mood for some late night BBQ. There were maybe another 3-4 people inside either waiting on food or ordering and another few that came in after us. During our first visit, we came around dinner time and we got a brisket plate and a BBQ chicken sandwich. I remember remarking that the brisket was melt-in-your-mouth good and that the chicken sandwich was surprisingly moist. Durimg this visit, we ordered the same things and we're both sorely disappointed. The brisket this time was very fatty and greasy, possibly being what was left at the end of the day. I don't think I've ever seen a pool of greasy under a plate of BBQ before until this meal. The chicken sandwich this time was the exact opposite of last time as well, being dry and overall just kind of bland. I do plan on coming back again at a more reasonable hour to see if we just hit a bad time slot because I remember it being so much better the first time but the food time time just wasn't enjoyable.

TLDR: Looks like it had promise but woefully under-delivered. Service is nice and prices are reasonable, but ultimately not good Q when I went. Smoker is wood-fired, so I might go back to see if it was an off day. They need to reduce their hours if they have to reheat their Q. Full Review: The parking was sort of weird and disjointed and the building is situated weirdly in relation to the other buildings in the lot. The outside of this restaurant is shack-like. I noticed as I drove up there was a guy tending a big ol' smoker in the back. I saw a bunch of wood in the firebox so I had high hopes about the food. As I walked inside I noticed metal walls, fluorescent lights, and black and white checkerboard tablecloths. It felt like the high end car shop from a tv show. There were a lot of folks from blue collar to white collar in here eating for lunch. While I didn't care for the decor, I liked that it was a wide swath of folks. The service was decent and pleasant. I ordered the combo platter, which normally has chicken, but they let me sub brisket. I got added to the brisket the pulled pork and ribs. For sides I got mac and cheese, which came recommended by the server, and okra. The plate came out fairly quickly. The first strike against the food was that all the meats came slathered in mild bbq sauce. I'm a firm believer that your barbeque should never have visible sauce on it when it makes it to the table. Your meat should stand on its own without sauce. The second strike was that the sauce wasn't even that good. It was way too sweet and killed taste of the meat entirely. The third strike was that the meat was bad anyway. The pork was dried out, definitely sitting in a warmer or steam table pan too long and probably reheated. The other two meats could have been reheated too. There was no detectable smoke flavor in anything. The hot sauce was quite good - vinegar and peppery, though, not super hot. The mac and cheese was pretty good but was typical creamy mac and cheese. I mixed a touch of the hot sauce into it which elevated it to great status. The fried okra was crispy but under seasoned. The prices were reasonable. I might try it again in case I was just getting day old bbq, but honestly that doesn't seem too acceptable to me. I've said this before, but if you can't offer good Q during all your open hours, you should limit your hours to when you can.

The price for the food was okay - pricier than other places but the portions were generous. The meat was tender and juicy but there's no smoky flavor or smoke ring. It doesn't even smell smoky around the restaurant. It was also not really seasoned. We tried pork, brisket, and chicken. Nothing bad but nothing great. The baked beans and macaroni and cheese deserve accolades though and bump a star. We did try the nachos and the chips were pretty bland and disappointing. Overall I think the meats need better seasoning as things tended towards bland. Maybe we went on an off day. It was around 2 p.m. and we were the only people there. We were pretty hyped to try it because of the reviews but left a bit disappointed. For comparison, we're huge BBQ fans - like Lewis, Wright's, SAW's, etc. so maybe it's just not our style. I love smoky, well seasoned meats.

It is in a small cinder block building Inside you have a counter and doors that open into the kitchen so they could bring out the foot. Fast service. I tried the tacos, brisket and pulled pork. Pulled pork was nicely done and the salsa, sour cream, and sauce were a perfect topping with the onions and cilantro. The brisket was done perfectly. Nice and juicy. I am not sure if this is the best BBQ in Chattanooga, but it is the best I have found thus far.

It seemed like they needed more help as…read morewe waited about 10 minutes at the ordering window for the main person, a man, to acknowledge our presence and take our order. Others have mentioned the unfriendliness and poor service and this was also our experience overall. We opted for the family pack, which I thought allowed for some customization, but discovered that the $35 choice with two sides had to be the pulled pork. You do get a ton of pulled pork and generous portions of BBQ sauce with it, so it was kind of nice to have leftovers. On the other hand, the meat itself was just ok and we wished we had opted for the ribs or something else (and just not done the family pack which, outside of the quantity element, did not really seem worth it based on the prices of other meats). The baked beans were very sweet as it seemed like they added way too much sugar to them; same for the BBQ sauce. Highlight was probably the creamy mashed potatoes which tasted very good. The man acted surprised when I asked for silverware because we had ordered to-go and it must be outside the ordinary for a restaurant doing to-go to offer this? He also wasn't very friendly in telling us that none of our food (family pack) included drinks. Seating is available but somewhat limited (especially on the inside). Overall this wasn't great and I probably would not come back to this establishment without some changes or improvements.

They told me they did not have any public restrooms and that I was not allowed to use their facilities. Even though this is a walk up window, they still provide a covered indoor cubicle tables and outdoor seating for customers so from what I understand, they're supposed to allow public restroom usage for paying customers. I give this restaurant one star for poor service.

Nothing arrives looking like it spent twenty minutes being positioned with tweezers. It's meat, bread, potatoes, pickles and sauce--the sort of food that requires napkins and leaves evidence. The Reuben is borderline obscene. A heap of deeply colored, tender meat barely contained between aggressively toasted bread, melted cheese and pickles. It's messy. It falls apart. You stop caring almost immediately. The turkey club is the quieter surprise. Thick slices of actual turkey--not the sad, uniformly circular stuff that's been haunting office refrigerators since the Eisenhower administration--piled onto grilled bread with bacon, avocado and enough richness to make the whole thing work. Then there are the potatoes: thick, fried rounds with crisp, dark edges and soft centers, served without ceremony alongside ketchup and a creamy orange sauce. Simple food done properly. There's nowhere for bad technique to hide. And that's really the appeal of Main Street Meats. They're not trying to convince you that lunch needs a backstory. They butcher animals, understand meat, make sandwiches and appear to take all of it seriously without taking themselves too seriously. Michelin noticed the place. After eating here, it's not particularly difficult to understand why. Come hungry. Order too much. Get the Reuben. Wear a shirt you don't particularly care about.
