Disclaimer: The person running the shop is my wife's childhood friend, but to add to the credibility review,​ most of her others are skilless in my opinion. :-) Honestly, I married her in hopes of meeting Hogan. Hogan and his team are badasses. They dropped a replacement transmission in my Cooper real quick and now my Cooper's shifting is smooth like a babies bottom. The level of professionalism in their environment is like none other. There is no shop drama. They all play together nicely. Jay always keeps you informed, helped in locating a rare replacement gearbox. There is never any confusion there. I've had a history of battling with mechanics, but as long as this place exists, life is going to be smooth. Thank you guys for giving my baby a second life. Very unprofessional, guy doesn't know what he is doing. Keep fixing a leak few times causing more problems. I was stupid enough to come back when i had problem with the wheel and he didn't fix it the first time. Very weird that after first time i went to him more problems new one show up. Don't go to him i never will. What a nightmare. Also wanted the recipe he said was problem with the computer, how convenient, and when i ask him to hand write he didn't even know what he fix. Towed my boyfriend's car here after it broke down on the road on a Sunday afternoon. AAA came in 15 minutes which was great! we asked the car to be towed here because I knew Nor-Francis Lewis Service Station is open 7 days a week. Seriously, try not to have your car break down on a Sunday. how many auto shops you trust are open on Sundays? I get gas at Gulf station all the time where Nor-Francis Lewis Service Station is located. That's how I happen to know they were open 7 days a week. We were met by friendly staff and work was completed ASAP! We were able to go pick up the car in working order in couple of hours. Yes, I recommend taking car here for routine services and also for other car repair services, especially if your car happens to break down on a Sunday. We had battery and alternator replaced. Best past is that the work also came with warranty. When I need work done on a car, I worry about the quality of work and getting ripped off. Today we got quality work done on the car for a good price faster than we were anticipating! P.S. An example of thoughtful service - The hood was left open for us to see the work when we came back to pick up the car. After paying and picking up the keys, we walked out and the hood was closed. I'm going to agree with Rich k. I've brought two of my cars here for inspection. The younger tech who's done my tire plugging was real cool but now the service manager/tech was a stickler. My first car inspection he wouldn't do it because my tires are not safe for road use, stating the tires have the metal wires exposing and then wanted to sell me two used tires. My second car was for inspection also, this time he tells me to drop my car off and come back in a couple of hours. Now I just bought this car almost brand new, I came back couple of hours later and found out he took my car out for a joy ride, he puts on my plate but the screws were too long and screwed my paint right off and damaged my bumper. Shop is good for regular inspection and that's it but still have to be wary. read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE FOR SERVICE OR REPAIR! I brought my car here for a ruptured brake line on the right side. I was told that it was likely caused by a frozen piston in the right caliper.The service manager tells me they are going to replace both calipers brake shoes on both sides and the ruptured hose. I asked why they had to replaced the left caliper? He told me the left one was probably leaking too. I informed him that I had checked the left side and there was nothing wrong there. Just as I had expected, 2 hours later he calls me and tells me that the left side WAS leaking. I told him it wasn't, but he insisted that fluid was pouring out. I informed him, I was getting rid of the car and I didn't want any unnecessary repairs. He convinced me to replaced the left caliper. I go to pick up the car, I look at the receipt, they charged me almost $90 for brake shoes, I asked if they were made out of gold. I reminded him I told him I was getting rid of the car, why would you get me top of the line shoes. He mumbled some response. STRIKE ONE! On the receipt was a $10 charge for, "solvent", I asked what that was. They charged me $10 to spray some brake cleaner on the discs to clean them. That brake cleaner costs $2.60 for a whole can. STRIKE 2! I requested to see the calipers, the right one had the ruptured hose, no problem there. I was shown the left one and he pointed to where,"fluid was pouring out" (knowing a little about the brakes, I've done dozens of brake jobs). Fluid was pouring out because the mechanic broke bleeder off. Now very pissed because they weren't totally honest about the left caliper and the over charge for solvent. I had to ask why they weren't honest about the caliper, there was no response. I then asked why should I have to pay for something they broke, his response, "you don't expect me to pay for it do you?" Instead of making any attempt to remove the broken valve, they just put a new one in and charged me for it. STRIKE 3!!! Funny how I knew they were going to figure out a way to charge me a second caliper. Off to my next stop, BBB and then the Dept. of Consumer Affairs. read more

I recently had an issue in Whitestone while visiting from Florida. Years ago I used this facility exclusively and was saddened to see Joe and Bill from Exxon gone but I guess after years away everything changes! I was very happy with the repairs, which were fair and quickly done and I feel I was charged appropriately. 4 stars only because NO ONE will ever replace Joe from Exxon who gets 5 stars and more!!!! read more

I went to this gas station to purchase gas on my way home , since it was more expensive than my usual spot i figured i would get 10 dollars worth and fill up later. i told the attendant ten dollars he repeated the amount gave him my debt card he set up the machine and started to pump my gas , and walk away my wife noticed the pump was set for 80 dollars by the time i got out of the car to stop the pump it was double what i wanted the guy said how sorry he was but still what does he care he still got my money i feel this is a truly dishonest gas station read more

Neal and his team are wonderful. While checking the liquid levels, they noticed a belt was getting to be very worn and showed it to me. It was replaced quickly. I trust Neal to give my car the service needed and not pad my bill. Another station I went to for years kept coming out with a filthy air filter - which I am sure they keep for suckers. DO NOT GO HERE FOR GAS OR REPAIRS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These people treat their customers with disrespect, bait and switch with repairs, and in general are dishonest. I have been going to this station since the prior owners ran it, two partners who had a genuine interest in satisfying their clientele and maintaining a good relationship with the community. The man who claims to be the current owner, Gautam, has no loyalty to the area and a very bad attitude with any one who walks in the door. Do yourself a favor and drive to wherever you have to before filling up here. These older posts must be referring to the old management. There is a new owner of the mechanic shop, Neal. He is very honest and a great person to deal with. I found Neal years ago in another station and was always satisfied with his service but the gas station closed down and that was that. Until a couple months ago I saw a sign with Neals face plastered on it which was great! It's only a few blocks away from my house so dropping off the car couldn't be more convenient. I suggest you give him a fair try, I've been there twice so far(different issues) and the service was outstanding. read more

Im sorry these guys have excellent service. I bring all my cars here, they are always honest and its cheaper then most mechanics. If the mechanic was so bad in the last review, how come the mechanic wasn't singled out or named? Also, if your so good at doing brake jobs by yourself why didn't you replace the hose and calipers on your own? $90 is not top of the line for brakes its bottom of the line for almost any car, and its also standard to replace both. If a person is too cheap to fox something and gets into a car accident because of it, who is to blame then? And if you couldn't afford $90, then you probably shouldn't be looking to get rid of your current car. Just saying. read more
