This coffee shop has indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor seating has little nooks and cranny for privacy. It also has a tons of books and local art for ambiance and sale. They have speciality coffee drinks with lots of different options. They also have assorted pastries. The take COVID guidelines seriously and sanitize all tables before new customers sit. Lastly they have gender neutral bathrooms with not only feminine hygiene products, but a baby changing station with some diapers for those emergency situations. Stumbled upon this spot when on the hunt for good coffee, and it's a total hidden gem. Interesting art and decor inside, plenty of covered seating outside, and absolutely delicious food and drinks! We tried two different lattes with unique names. The fluffy bunny (hazelnut and marshmallow) and the hazel bee (hazelnut, chocolate and honey) were both delicious served hot. We also tried two build your own sandwiches, the cheeses, turkey sausage and bacon were also so great on top of amazing flavorful English muffins! We tried the everything and Rosemary, both 10/10, and I generally don't like English muffins because they're dry, but these were perfect. I didn't even mention the waffle! This is my wife's and mine "go-to" coffee cafe. The quality of the coffee is outstanding, the drink menu is large and reasonably priced, and they have a good variety of baked goods and food options. As a long time customer of NoRa, I have had the need to request usage of Matt's facilities for numerous special occasions. Last Thursday's occasions was a truly GREAT evening event. The usage of the studio provided the extra privacy needed to facilitate a level of relaxed communication between the attendees. While I've only come here for coffee so far I'm already a huge fan. It's a huge space with tons of seating options, so you can bring your computer or find a book on the shelf and cozy up on one of their couches. All the books on the shelves are $1 - crazy good deal! They also have chess set up at one of the tables and a few other games available as well. There's some beautiful art for sale on the walls, and they even have book signings. They have a ton of yummy looking pastries and cookies along with a lot of great coffee flavors. I got the iced salted caramel latte with almond milk. It was perfection! Not too sweet and just the right amount of coffee flavor. The guy behind the counter told us they have true Belgian waffles available on weekend mornings that sound AMAZING. I've been to NoRa a couple times and have enjoyed it. I usually just get a latte and both times it has been good. The coffee seems to me to have a raspberry type flavor, which is different. The baristas have always been very friendly. There is both indoor and outdoor seating and a cozy environment and has been pretty full every time I've gone so a low mumble of voices. The location in a strip mall, doesn't match the cozy coffee shop feeling inside. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. The vibe was bizarre to say the least and the individual who took my order was cold and seemed bewildered that I wanted my coffee extra sweet by specifically adding a toasted marshmallow flavor (which is a syrup they offer on their menu)... Maybe they were just confused by what I was asking, but this interaction was just strange lol. And to top it off, my coffee tasted ABSOLUTELY horrible - pretty much like milk straight from a cows teet. You're a coffee shop, how can a simple iced coffee be that bad?? When I moved to Raleigh, I really wanted a casual coffeeshop to get some work done, a place that wasn't Starbucks. It seemed that every place that fit the bill was downtown, so not exactly convenient when I live midtown/northish. After finally finding NoRa (Maudes at the time), and seeing books and art everywhere, I knew my search was over. Delicious pastries and specialty beverages, and not just coffee! My favorite is their London Fog, and my spouse always gets a chaider (chai tea and apple cider combo, which is yummm). Who knew? Living downtown I don't venture far out, but this adventure was worth it. This is a sweet little coffee shop nestled in a strip mall. The staff is super nice and Maude herself was working a cash register. On one side there is the actual coffee shop with quite the unique selection. On the other side is a garden/home decor shop. I ordered a latte with cinnamon and honey and it was amazing. There is indoor and outdoor seating. On this day they were holding classes for making fairy gardens. This is a gem of a store, like a throw back to the kind of stores our grandparents talk about. When I walked in I was greeted with a friendly 'good morning'. I ordered a machiato and was asked if I want traditional or the way other coffee shops make it. Having been to Italy I ordered a traditional. Wow. The espresso had an almost sweet taste to it and the foam was thick and yummy. This delicious concoction was a fraction of the price of say...starbucks. This is a VERY unique gem where the employees genuinely want to know how you are & will guide you to the perfect cup of coffee. On the other side of this gem is the cutest garden store that sells all sorts of unique birdhouses, ornaments, pots and even fresh flowers. This is a win win shop. Best iced mocha ever! I love a solid iced/hot latte and I'll never order anything else. But at NoRa, I had the iced mocha on one of my more adventurous days and I haven't turned back since. It's one of the pricier drinks at $4, but I consider it a treat and don't hesitate to swipe my card for those 4 big bucks. They seem to be sprucing things up with more food options too and the kitchen smelled so nice the last time I dropped in. I'll be trying some of their options next time and will update my review. The books they have all throughout the cafe are only $1 each! They told me they're open to accepting some book donations too, but I'm guessing you would have to talk with the manager to set that up.
