The North Hills spot ( 4421 Six Forks Road in Raleigh, beside Total Wine) feels settled in the best way. Comfortable, Welcoming, Cozy. We started slowly. A wine flight. Truffle fries with truffle aioli, parmesan, oregano. Marinated olives layered with citrus and herbs. Nothing too over the top, but generous and satisfying. The kinds of plates you keep reaching for without realizing it. For dinner, we had the the NY Strip (North Carolina pasture-raised Angus with Diane sauce and a French onion potato gratin). And the roasted whole fish (with hazelnut gremolata, citrus beurre blanc, and confit sunchoke). Both cooked to perfection, nothing missing, and absolutely delicious. What stuck with us the most htough, the service. Ben and Oscar were sharp, attentive, and present without being overbearing. They made the evening feel even more incredible. Some places try hard to impress - Foxcroft Food & Wine just delivers (time and time again).

The business was clean and there is also a bar inside. The restaurant has a large selection of wines and offers flights for purchase. The restaurant had some people dining in but they were not overly packed. Initially our server was pleasant and attentive. I got a blood orange sparkling water. It was ok. I ordered the whipped ricotta for an appetizer to share and a burger with fries for my entree. The whipped ricotta was ok. It would taste better with some sort of seasoning in it. My fries were served hot but needed some salt. I asked for my burger to be cooked well done but I was brought a burnt burger. I took one bite but it was too overcooked. I then requested that my server have my burger be cooked medium well so I didn't get another burnt burger. When my burger was brought back out, our server had me cut into my burger to make sure it was to my liking. The preparation was better but it was bland and tasted like there wasn't any seasoning on it. After this our server wasn't as attentive anymore. For dessert we got the donuts. They were served warm and I enjoyed them with the cherry sauce. I did not like the chocolate sauce that was served with the donuts.

The reason for the low rating is the food. My colleagues could not believe that I ordered the liver entree, but I didn't care, I love liver, and my wife won't fix it. I'd never heard of Mustard-Seared Calves' Livers, but, loving liver the way I do, I was willing to try it. When the liver came out, it looked like a huge pile of greasy slop. I was not deterred and took a bite. The liver was mush; it had absolutely no texture, and the taste was just awful. Not wanting to tempt fate (I have had food poisoning before), I did not eat any more than that first bite. As I mentioned before, the waiter was excellent and removed the offending entree. He offered to put in an order for something else. I opted for the calamari appetizer, which was okay. They comped my calamari and didn't charge for the liver. I hope the restaurant will rethink this dish. I suppose it could have a following, but at the very least, make sure the liver is fresh and high-quality.

They were so professional and personable and just made the evening perfect. It was night to remember and I will go there again when in the Raleigh/Durham area. Thank you so much to the Chief for the wonderful food but especially to Bill and Sara for their expert service!

From the moment we sat down, she set the perfect tone -- warm, attentive, and somehow always one step ahead of us without ever feeling rushed or hovering. With a larger group, service can easily fall apart, but Sereena kept everything running smoothly. She kept track of everyone's meals without missing a beat and made thoughtful recommendations when a couple of us were torn on what to order. Now, the food -- wow. The raw oysters were fresh and beautifully presented, the perfect way to kick off the evening. The lobster crab cakes were an absolute showstopper; perfectly crispy on the outside, rich and packed with flavor on the inside. And the cocktail menu? Seriously impressive. The variety of crafted cocktails had something for everyone in our group, and every single one was expertly made. Sereena helped guide a few of us through the options and nailed every suggestion. The atmosphere was perfect for a night out, but between the incredible food, creative cocktails, and Sereena's exceptional service, Stir has earned a permanent spot on our date night rotation. Ask for Sereena -- you won't regret it!
