I had to go to an event and didn't have time to wash and style my hair because of my hectic work schedule. So I went to this salon to have my hair straightened. I asked the receptionist how much it would cost to wash and straighten my hair, explaining that I was not interested in any expensive hairstyles. She recommended two stylists, one charging $35.00 and the other $40.00. I chose the $35.00 one, but she said they were not immediately available. As I was running late for my event, I said, "Fine, I'll pay $40.00 and have my hair washed and straightened right away." So the stylist, whose name I believe was Jackie, washed and straightened my hair. I paid with my Apple phone wallet while I was talking to her at the checkout. I didn't look at the screen while I was paying because I was in a hurry. While I was still talking to Jackie, the transaction was completed. They charged me $55.00, according to my screenshot notification. I was shocked, and as I was about to walk out the door, I asked them if they had charged me the incorrect amount. I was told that the cost of washing and drying would be $55.00. The stylist flatly lied to me, saying, "no ma'am, I charge $55.00 and up for a hair cut." I informed her that it was not a haircut and that you had simply washed and blown dry my hair. I was informed upfront that I would be charged $40.00. While I was still talking to her, the receptionist ignored me and left the front desk, and no one bothered to apologize or return my money. I had to leave because I was running late for a very important event. But it was so disappointing to see the receptionist walk away from the conversation, like she doesn't care about customer service, and Jackie kept saying she charges $40.00 and up for the cut. That is simply lying on my face. I'm very disappointed that they kept my money without my permission, lied to me, and took advantage of the fact that I needed to go to the event as soon as possible so they could charge me anything and that I wouldn't even look at the screen. I've attached pictures of my hair. As you can see, there was no any hairstyle done. It was simple wash and blow dry which still looked frizzy.

Run don't walk away. Went back to get my haircut fixed and it's worse. Asked to get rid of the layer looking like a shelf. It's a combo wedge/Dutchboy/Edward scissorhands. And had to remind a few times to use the coupon.

Just doing an update because a lot has change…read more Right now they have a spring special $30 for the month of May only Monday- Friday ( not Memorial Day) Its still clean as compared to their competitor. The Bade pools ( yes you have to be in the buff) The jets aren't strong as I wanted. The steam rooms are cool. I love the cold plunge pool. The sauna rooms have a lot to offer. Hinoki room is my favorite. The outdoor pools. There aren't enough lounge chairs .. A lot of the jets dont work...and most of the time women are kiking forever on the jets stations ... The jacuzzi is small but very relaxing. As far as food, it's not worth it! Almost $30 for bulgogi??! I got scallion pancakes and it was dreadful! It's supposed to be crispy! It seemed like they microwaved it. The empanadas was ok. They sell these cute bear drink that had your choice of Sorrel ( hibiscus? Or ginger lemonade. I got sorrel but it was too sweet!! For $9!! At least the bottle is reusable. I definitely prefer this place over Parkside/Spa World. I recommend coming during the weekend, and get here early!

The facilities were extremely busy, and the saunas were consistently packed, making it difficult to enjoy or unwind. My boyfriend and I each booked a deep tissue massage for $160, plus an automatic 18% gratuity ($28) bringing the total to $188 per person--nearly $400 for two massages. Unfortunately, the massages were very underwhelming. The therapists left the room multiple times, applied minimal pressure despite it being a deep tissue service, and frequently rested their elbows in place for extended periods rather than actively working on muscle tension. Overall, it felt like time was being filled rather than treatment being provided. The food was also overpriced for what was offered. For example, a bulgogi bento was around $30, which felt excessive given the quality and portion size. Overall, this was a disappointing experience and not a good value for the money.

THEY ARE NOT AFFILIATED WITH OTHER LOCATIONS!…read more Now that I have that out the way. Let's dive in. This location is very very small. I was shocked how "intimate" it is. If you're used to Atlanta amd Houston location please lower your expectations. You have to schedule service before you go in. I wasn't aware if that so please be mindful. They also take your shoes before you go back. My mind was blown. Once I got back it looks the same except the pool area is massive with cool jet powered pockets. If you forget something there is a purchase price instead of gratis. Like toothbrush, deodorant, toothpaste, etc. Interesting that you can wear swimsuits. I didn't have one because I thought they weren't allowed. I was a bit disappointed in my scrub but I think it's because it was moved up, shrle came looking for me, she was irritated, I was annoyed, she asked for a tip 5X and I kept saying "No". I did use a GroupOn and that was dope. I would definitely use again just for the 30 min massage alone. Kim was amazing! It also got moved up 15 mins. It has a traditional layout as other locations but they have 3 upstairs spaces for massages, gym, and smoking. The resturant was closed while I was there so I set up myself up for some $9 Ramen. Yeah, I know. Stupid move. I was hungry. Although, small they tossed in a few couches and chairs. There's 5 rooms with temperatures listed. I thought that was cool. May absolutely favorite was the CLAY room. Its so fun and different. I went on a Monday to avoid people but it was still pretty busy. I don't think there is a difference on the day of the week.

I read the bad reviews before going, but I'm going to base my opinion on my own experience. I like that they offer discounts for seniors. My mom's admission was $35 and mine was $45. This is definitely very affordable, and for someone who cares more about the benefits rather than aesthetics or Instagram photos, I think it's worth it. I can see why some people say the pool water smells musky. It does seem that way a bit, but honestly, I'm not sure if it's just because the water is warm. The spa treatments are pricey, but it's understandable. The staff could use some hospitality training. The girl at the front desk was nice, but the guy could definitely use some training. The food is affordable and the portions are huge. I got bibimbap for $16 and shared it with my mom, so it was definitely worth the money. I would come back again, especially on my birthday, because they have a promotion for free admission if it's your birthday. They also have a bunch of other promotions that I don't remember, but they're worth checking out. Really wish they would open one in Maryland again.

Please don't be discouraged by a few negative reviews - they don't reflect the superlative treatment that I receive CONSISTENTLY. I believe it's a natural tendency to leave reviews that are negative, blasting a business for the actions of an individual. That person may have had a bad day - we all do, right? That being said, I support businesses that deliver a level of excellence not because they have to in order to compete, but to do so because they wish to cultivate a working relationship with their clientele. That starts with an exemplary staff. Andy E. has such great desk side manners that it is worthy of being noted. I've had him call me to alert me to available appointments on a number of occasions and I had the privilege of speaking to him today. He makes the appointment in such an affable way, that it comes through over the phone. I can tell he wanted to facilitate an appointment most convenient to me to ensure the best possible outcome. Andy E. represents this company in an exceptional way - his positivity complements the business in a way it optimizes the whole experience. Pleasant, empathetic and engaging are qualities one doesn't learn, those qualities allow transcendance of negativity in a service oriented industry. Those qualities that are embodied by Andy are crucial. I want to warn others about the practices I witnessed during my time there. one night shift i was closing and after i closed everything during the middle of the night, robbery occurred, and I had no idea at the time. The robber took around $400, and it wasn't until the next day that the opener saw the key still in the lock and noticed something was off. To make matters worse, the cameras "didn't work," or so I was told, and when I asked about the footage, I was told it would be available to HR. However, I never got to see anything. A couple of weeks later, I was called in for a meeting and was wrongfully accused of taking the money. They claimed they had footage of me taking it, but when I asked to see it, they kept saying they would "show me later." I never saw it, and ultimately, they just terminated me. To top it off, they threatened to involve the police, but I never received any report, and no further action was taken. It felt like they were simply looking for someone to blame, and I was the next in line, especially since others before me had been fired under similar circumstances. In addition to the unjust termination, my experience working there was less than ideal. There were constant complaints from customers about upcharges--something I also noticed during my time at the company. We were instructed to upcharge without clear explanations, which led to a lot of frustrated customers. Additionally, cancelling memberships was a nightmare. Only the manager could do it, and she would always come up with excuses to delay or avoid doing so, which added to the frustration of both the customers and employees. Overall, I do not recommend working at Hand & Stone, nor would I recommend it as a business for customers. They don't prioritize the well-being or fair treatment of their employees, and they seem more focused on finding ways to take money from customers rather than provide genuine service. If you're considering working there, or becoming a customer, my advice is to look elsewhere DO NOT EVER COME HERE!! THEY SCAM YOU TOO

As a freshly postpartum mother, I am at a stage where kindness and flexibility are essential, yet I was treated with total coldness. After the owner previously rescheduled on me when it suited her, I encountered a genuine emergency and was immediately 'kicked to the curb' with a $170 cancellation fee. Even after paying that fee, my attempt to move forward and rebook was met with short, dismissive responses. When I reached out to find a slot, I was told 'I must be booked,' and when I shared that I'd have to take my business elsewhere, the response was a curt 'No worries!' It is baffling that a business owner would choose a one-time fee over a loyal, high-value client relationship (I was prepared to spend over $1,700 annually). To treat a new mother this way is not just poor business--it's unkind. I will be taking my business to a provider who values their clients' well-being as much as their bottom line."
