Not amazing but not terrible either. We ordered the Crab Bisque which has very little crab in it, but was okay on flavor. We also ordered the Wild Salmon Oscar which was good but half of the plate had stone cold crab on it and it was just Luke warm. My husband ordered the Bolognese which he said was okay. Service is typical bar level service but I think the main attraction for this restaurant is that it is in Nordstrom and thus you don't have to leave to have a decent meal. We went here tonight. The place was rather empty. With high prices and sub par food, it's no wonder. I will say the server was very delightful and attentive filling our tea glasses many times. We started with "signature" chicken pot pie soup. It was thick more or less like chicken gravy. I suggested they serve it over a biscuit. Some might like that, but didn't have many veggies except pros which don't like. Next we move on to appetizer of deep fried chicken tacos. 2 for 9. Very small. Street size tacos. They were good but not as good but I would not go out of my way for them. Next, my companion got chicken cilantro lime salad $18. I had a Nordstrom burger. I asked for medium rare. It was raw. I sent it back after cutting it in half. I'm pretty sure there is a law about returning a plate to the customer after going back to the kitchen. Nevertheless, here comes the burger back again, and although better, still some was raw. How do you cook a burger with some parts cooked and others raw? Half off the heat? Don't understand that one. The highlight of the plate was the sweet potato fries. They were excellent as well as one tiny dollup of spicy sauce. It is a nice space with black and white photos on the walls. Kind of a 40's vibe. Not sure about patrons at the entrance with their feet up across the adjacent bar stools. Not very classy. We were't expecting much and Nordstrom delivered that. It was almost $100.. We dined at the bar for lunch. We ordered two cups of soup - tomato basil and crab bisque both very flavorful that were paired with a buttery piece of bread. Entrees: a fried chicken sandwich with pimento cheese, which was asked to be substituted and it was not. The cheese was actually enjoyable, although never my first choice, and I opted for the side salad versus French fries. The salad was a most generous portion and fresh. This used to be the best kept secret at Nordstrom. Downstairs chef inspired dishes called the grill. Visited yesterday for the first time in several years and what a huge disappointment. Majority of the wait staff were sitting in the dining room on their cell phones since last lunch was over and this was mid afternoon. They were not prepared for guests to continue dining. Oh how I love it when high end shopping and high end (but casual!) dining meet in the same place!! The Nordstrom Grill is tucked away in a hidden back corner on the bottom floor of the Nordstrom in Green Hills. Seek it out!!! The Green Hills Mall has very limited food options, but that's ok, because they have the Nordstrom Grill! The food is consistent, fresh, and beautifully presented. You are way more likely to need a reservation for lunch than dinner... but I like coming here for dinner because it is usually quiet amid the bustle of the busy mall. Last night we had the calamari, burrata and brussels to start. Win, win, win. For our main course we had the grilled Halibut with the most mouth watering risotto with peas and asparagus. !!! The shrimp salad is also a consistent favorite of mine. The Chef also does a great job with weekly fresh offerings on a special menu. I have tried several items in the past, and I have always been happy with my selections. It seems many diners are not aware that there is a full service bar menu, in addition to the ample wine offerings. Last night they featured a sparkling savignon blanc, which in my many years of drinking wine, I have never encountered. It was the perfect starter on a hot August night. I was impressed that they had featured wines, and that they were so interesting. Dessert was well worth it. I woke up this morning still thinking about the cheesecake with caramel sauce, and I am not even a dessert person. It was not a typical cheesecake, for sure. I also sampled the creme brûlée which rivaled my own mother's famous recipe! The white chocoate bread pudding was dry and disappointing. Our server told us it was the last piece.. I have a feeling all the other slices were way more moist. I think they should not have served this one. I will be back again and again. Service is great, food is great, location is great. Always a solid meal, ambience, service and presentation. Love the menu choices, and it always tastes pretty clean.

I like the feel here. Black and white pictures on the walls gives a flavor of the past and add to their classy feel. They have mostly boots which I prefer. It's relaxed and cosy, but the service is quick and professional. It's definitely a place to go to and wind down after or during shopping. Their and soups salads are my favorite items since I like something lighter when shopping. read more

Who knew there was a restaurant inside of Nordstrom? The food really wasn't terrible and the vibe is quite fun. I enjoyed the french dip but I did not enjoy the ginger sesame salad. The service was atrocious and I saw a guest walk out because her food was taking too long. I would probably never go back unless I was shopping in the men's sneaker department in Nordstrom and I was so hungry I couldn't wait to walk up to the North Italia. 4.5/10 read more

Tucked away in the back corner of Nordstrom's in Greenhills is the Nordstrom Grill. What I delightful place. The Greenhills mall doesn't have many choices when it comes to grabbing a bite to eat. Cheesecake factory is always busy and too much food! Nordstrom's Grill is the perfect place for a quick bite to eat with delicious food. Grilled hamburgers, sandwiches, soups, and salads. I had the Spinach salad with Salmon that was perfect, just the right portion to fill my hunger pains but not over due it. All of their sauces and dressings are made in house, try the ketchup! My dad got the French Onion soup which looked amazing! Another dish at the table was the BLTA (Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato, and Avocado), looked delicious! I love the food at Nordstrom Grill and I typically make it a point to eat there at least one weekend day as I work in Green Hills on the weekend. I called in to place an order for pick up. The lady who answered the phone took my order and said it would be ready at the time I requested. I get to the restaurant: 1. There wasn't anyone at the hostess stand or the to-go area to greet me (this isn't the first time I haven't been greeted either). The cooks greeted me, as they know my face since I eat there so often. 2. I waited by the to-go area. A lady with glasses and red hair pulled into a low ponytail came out the back and started cleaning up the to-go area. Another person was waiting in line behind me. She proceeded to take their order and not acknowledge my presence. When she finished taking their order she looked at me and said, "Oh, did you need something?" I tell her I had placed an order and I was there just to pick it up. She couldn't find my order. Apparently, it was never given to the cooks to prepare. It was never written down. 3. So, at this point I have been waiting 15 minutes for someone to even come out the back, I was not acknowledged, and now you're telling me my order was never prepared. I didn't have time to wait for them to prepare another order as I had somewhere to be. Like I said, when I started this review, I love the food here. The cooks are amazing and have excellent service. But I am very disappointed in the hostess service I have received on several different occasions. This one instance just took it over the top for me. How does such a high end company have such terrible service in their restaurant? Also to mention, when the lady told me my order wasn't even taken down, she did not offer an apology or even a cup of water for my inconvenience. Consistently a terrific spot for a quality meal - something tough to come by in green hills. Kind service that is trained to be attentive without being fussy. That said, the atmosphere is a bit bland - to say Nordstrom (a supposed center of fashion in Nashville) played it safe here is an understatement. However, I won't dock them a star for the milquetoast environment (but I won't be sad if they improve upon it!). The reason is that the food is consistently delicious and the aforementioned service is so polished. Nashville needs more places like this that can entice a crowd for a lovely lunch. Favorite dishes: the BLTA salad - a fresh combo of greens, avocado and tomatoes tossed in green goddess dressing and topped with perfectly cooked bacon. The chicken paillard - makes you feel indulgent even when going low-carb. Any number of fish dishes - exceptional. The wine list is lovely, and the servers are empowered and educated enough on the list to guide you to the best choice for your palate. And the kids' options are plentiful and generous - my son loves the fruit cup and big glass of milk that comes with each meal. Consider a great lunch here any day! read more

TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE SERVICE. Got the wild salmon salad. The salmon was raw, and we sent it back. They took the same piece of salmon back and then gave it back, still raw on the inside. Then we sent it back a 3rd time (still undercooked in the middle) as we overheard the chefs complaining about our order and how they didn't want to cook a 'new peice' of fish. Also, on top of that our waitress served us in a plastic glove she had used to take off fries from some else's plate. Unprofessional. At the most, they could have refilled my sweet tea or at least given me a free side.... Overall, the food was adiquete but would not go back due to the attitude and poor service of the waitresses and chiefs. The tomato soup and the strawberry chicken salad were just the right amount for a light, late lunch. The soup was just perfect but the chicken in my salad lacked flavor and was rather cold for freshly grilled. The dressing, candies nuts, strawberries, goat cheese, and lettuce were all Delicious however. The service was really lacking and it took forever to get our order taken and to get the check. For a restaurant in a department store, the food can be pretty decent. I had the French Dip and got good, rare, and tender shaved prime rib and tasty jous. It's not often you go into a department store in Nashville and encounter a place like Nordstrum Grill. I remember it as Sixth and Pine and I don't know if the restaurant lease has changed hands, but the food, the place, the staff, the general warmth and ambience seem to be intact. The Grill can be a little difficult to find, but it's worth going on the hunt, for, as an alternative to the usual food mall type fare served in large shopping centres, this place is classy, not too expensive and a great place to sit down and relax during a hectic day of goody-shopping in the upmarket Greenhill Mall. If there is a criticism it is that, at times, the service can be a little slow. If you are stopping for a quick on-the-go lunch, that can be a bit of a deterrent. But if you want to stay and reap the full benefit from this place, the extra time is not a handicap. It's a good spot. read more

I frequently shop at Nordstrom and decided to try the Nordstrom Grill for the first time today. It's a great place for lunch, a little on the pricey side but the food was very good. We were seated immediately (which is very rare at noon in Green Hills) and the service was great. I had the Chicken Paillard salad and my friend had the Crispy Chicken sandwich. Both dishes were very tasty and priced around $13. Nordstrom Grill is a great alternative to the Cheesecake Factory which is always busy and loud. Which was just kids meal chicken strips, with green beans and potatoes. And that also comes with a fruit cup and a drink. Normally around $8. They gave me different chicken strips and sweet potato fries. And I was charged extra. Didn't receive my fruit cup or drink. read more

Unfortunately what used to be "Sixth and Pine" is now "Nordstrom Grill" and it's not as good. Our favorite item was the sweet potato fries and dipping sauce, which is no longer available. A few other things were removed and some have been changed to include more of a "grilled" theme. I do love the tomato soup which is still available. Must have been a bad day at Nordstrom Grill. We've been here several times, and today was just bad on the service end. Ordered a simple bowl of soup and my wife ordered the salmon and spinach salad. It took forever! 35 minutes to get a salad and soup! And my waiter brought my bowl of soup out 10 minutes before my wife's dish. Mind you it was all I ordered. Waiter never checked in while we were waiting said something like, "sorry it's taking so long." It was like this is just the way it is type of attitude. After we finally got our food, our waiter was attentive, but then just disappeared. We finished and then waited and waited until he reappeared. He finally walked by and I had to stop him and ask for the bill. The moral of this story is make sure you have time to spare if you go to this place. read more

"Sorry we don't have any bread today." finally our order delivered to table only to find they substituted a different entree for two of us as the waiter told us "we don't have what you ordered today but no one told me." had to hastily order something else while our friends burger got cold waiting for a side of mayo. Had lunch at the bar yesterday and was blown away by how well run that place is. Food was fresh and well prepared. They have an excellent expediter that keeps everything on track and the three cooks were all doing a great job, especially the salad chef. There was one minor snafu in our order but due to the excellent expediter it was caught before too much harm was done by overcooking one of the burgers. We had a very disappointing experience with Nordstrom Grill at lunch the day before Thanksgiving. Not only was the service extremely slow, there were ants in the booth we were sitting in. I notified the manager of this and he said he would send someone from maintenance to take care of it. No one ever came. I reported this to the hostess again and again no response. Once again very slow service on our food which was cold, but overall tasty. As a manager with someone who is telling you discreetly that there are bugs at their table, why would you not take care of something like that. Not typical of our experiences there. read more
