And dare I say eleven11 is the best of the trio. Parking is validated in the attached lot (get the validation inside) for three hours, a huge win as parking is otherwise dicey in this area. My friend and I made a reservation for an early dinner on a Friday night and I accidentally came kind of early, which really meant I got to enjoy more of their delicious cocktails! The drink menu is inventive and fun, mixing unique Asian flavors with just the right balance and sweetness to appeal to most palates (even mine, I'm very sweet-averse in drinks.) I started with the light, refreshing El Cajon Blvd on the waitress' recommendation. It came with freshly blended green guava and was a tropical delight. My friend got the Your Idol and then moved on to the inventive rum banana miso concoction that was the 4 EM which was by far our favorite drink of the night. So interesting and layered, but still paired well with dinner! I also really liked the Rabbit's foot, which was for fans of boozier but well balanced drinks. For food, we leaned heavily on the waitress's recommendations and probably got one more dish than we had room for in our stomachs but still managed to finish it all. Every single bite was outstanding and unique. The ingredients were incredibly fresh, the scallop dish was just outstanding in particular. I wanted that sauce/marinade on everything. We also highly recommend the eggplant dish and the shrimp toast!! The crispy enoki mushroom was so good but would have been more ideal to share with three people as it was quite rich. The hand-pulled noodles were heavenly but the pepper on it was a bit too spicy for our palates, so next time I'd probably ask for less of the spice. But overall this was a fantastic meal that I'll be dreaming about for some time. Incredible place to bring someone for a fancier meal at a reasonable price, cool moody atmosphere that isn't too loud, excellent service and very fun drinks. I usually order the Koji Ribeye, but this time my husband claimed it first, so I ventured out and ordered the Alaskan Halibut with hash brown crust, orange vinaigrette, and watercress. It was absolutely delicious. My favorite side remains the Roasted Carrots with Leiper's Fork honey and tarragon--they're incredible. We finished with the Carrot Cake. It's less sweet than the version served at another well-known Franklin restaurant, which I actually prefer. The flavors are more nuanced, and the crunchy shredded carrot on top adds the perfect texture. The food was, as always, exceptional. We were fortunate to have Jeff Paul as our server again. He's knowledgeable, attentive, and strikes that perfect balance of being available without ever being intrusive. That said, we've honestly never had anything but excellent service at 1799.
