I think it is annoying to have a different person ask if I need anything every 30 seconds. It comes off desperate salesperson.

I was directed by Nordstrom chat to call several Nordstrom locations to find something I had been stalking online to no avail for two weeks. Two strikes and I was sure I was going to strike out again. I was lucky enough to be connected to the very sweet Georgette N in BP Apparel . She located my item which made me so happy! The reason I'm writing this review for a store that is not even in my own state is because not only did she find it but she was just as delighted as I was. It really made my day. Then when we were going over the shipping details it turned out her hometown is one city over from me here in California! It was a random surprise and it was great talking to her as we finished the transaction. Georgette, you are an awesome sales associate and Nordstrom is lucky to have you. I'm going to have a good story to tell my daughter (who just moved to your hometown) when I surprise her with the sold out item she missed out on during the Anniversary sale. I usually have a great experience at Nordstrom but it seems like things are changing. I went into Salon Salon shoes and felt a bit awkward. It seems they now have a bouncer for their shoe department. There was this large guy with a shaved head (not smiling) just standing there with his arms crossed staring everyone down. One of the salespeople asked him a question and all he said was "that's not my job". My question is "what is your job?" Is it to look angry and intimidating? to scare those of us, who might just be looking, off? He didn't seem very "Nordstrom" like he enjoyed his job or even really wanted to be there. One of my favorite things about Nordstrom is the people who work there. They usually have big smiles and are helpful and put me in a good mood just by their attitude. I was so disappointed I went to another department and now if he is there I don't shop shoes. I just thought Nordstrom should know their new salon Shoe "bouncer" is a no go and they might lose more than one customer. read more

Customer service is impeccable. Prices are steep but you can actually find some really good deals. It's always clean and clutter free.

Beware of the young man with dark hair and very tight pants that currently works at the service desk on the first floor. On December​ 7th, I purchased 2 gifts cards, ​each for the amount of $100, from another dark-haired​ young man from the men's department ( who was very impatient with me ). My friend went shopping​ maybe​ 10 days later and when she handed them her gift card, they told her that it had a $0 balance on it. So she called the number on the back of the card and they were very helpful with her and told her that the gift card had been redeemed​ at the Las Vegas store. They said that all she had to do is tell the person that bought her the card to give them a call and they will take care of it. When I heard the news, I did not worry about it, due to the fact that I had put the gift card on my Nordstrom card and I had kept all my receipts, this whole time thinking that Nordstrom is a reputable store and will fix everything. When I also called​ the number on the card, again the person on the phone was pleasant and said: Do not worry mum, just go back to Nordstrom and show them your receipts and they will give you a full refund. On my day off from work, I went to Nordstrom in a good mood thinking that I will get my refund. I went to the service desk and explained the​ situation to the young man and even showed a picture of the card with the card numbers on it and my receipts. But the young man got frustrated with me and said :" Mum we do not refund lost or stolen or redeemed cards. " I tried to explain to him that the card was not lost or stolen but he said it was redeemed. I explained to him that the person that I gave the card to, had not redeemed it and he said O.K then he will give me the money that was on the card, and I happily said no problem. He said " I can give you $0, that is how much is on the card" So I pleaded with him to please call the number on the card, they are aware of the situation and they will explain things to you. At this point, ​the young man was tired of me and reluctantly​ called the number on the card but not in front of me. He stepped away to make the phone call. Then he came back to me saying that Nordstrom is not responsible when you purchase gift cards. I felt frustrated and humiliated, he was treating me like I was an imbecile. He said " Can't you read what is on the back of the card and proceeded to put a gift card in front of me and showed me the words on it while he was reading to me. " Then he said that if I wanted to, he would call the manager and I could talk to him, but he was happily telling this​. Working in a hospital, I know that when one of our patients is unhappy and wants to talk to the charge nurse, we are concerned and worry about what the patient might say about​ us to the charge nurse. By that time I knew that this man wanted to humiliate me some more and I did not trust him to find me a manager and I left. I went to the second floor looking around to see if I could run into a manager. So in the Topshop department, I saw a pretty Asian​ lady with long hair and asked her if she could please call a manager or could she direct me to the offices of the managers​. I told her that I had a bad experience at the service desk. She told me " you cannot just talk to the manager, they are busy, all you can do is go back down to the service desk." Then I decided to call the number on the back of the card, they had been nice to me, they will help me. When I called the number, I happened to be in the department in front of the elevator​ where the high-end​ clothes​​ are located. This time the people from the card had a totally different attitude and said that it was up to Nordstrom if they wanted to give me a refund and there is nothing they can do about it and they did not understand why we waited so long to redeem the card, (my friend works Monday through Friday and waited about 10 days to use it) People show their frustration in different ways, unfortunately,​ mine is to start crying and that is what I did. There was a tall African​-American saleslady who what just witnessed what happened​​ and she came up to me and said:​"Don't worry, I will call the manager for you" and everything started to take a turn for the better after I met this kind-hearted​​, elegant lady. The manager came to me and was extremely​ nice and said that he will take care of everything ( I could be mistaken but his name might have​ been Zack). He said to just hand him my Nordstrom card and my receipt and he was going to investigate and talk to customer service manager and come back and talk to me. I just waited a few minutes and he came back to me with a new $100 dollars gift card. If a person from Nordstrom's upper management​ happens to be reading this, please do not let the young man working at the service desk ruin hard working peoples' Christmas. I could forget about losing​ a $100 but I will never forget how that young man treated me. read more

A great variety of clothing, especially gowns! I was looking for a nice dress for my best friends wedding and what I found was better than I ever imagined! Unique pieces, but of course, pricey. Despite the prices, customer service was exceptional! The person who helped me also tried to track down a dress for me in my size. Very happy shopper. I shop in the men's store here quite a bit and especially for my suits. Today I brought back a suit that I had purchased before that simply wore out in the inside seam area and only after a half dozen wears or so. Was a bit disappointed given the brand so we took it back to see what my options were. Just wanted to get fixed or possibly some credit back on it. The salesman I bought the suit from was actually in the store which was unexpected. We talked about the issue and he surprised us by saying that the fabric failure was unacceptable and he offered to return it in full and credit toward a new suit. Not completely uncommon except I bought the suit in December 2013 and this is August 2015. And it was during the semi annual sale so I was able to get two new suits in place of the returned suit. Absolutely amazing and I am thoroughly impressed by their store policy on this and the willingness of the salesman to help with it. Very unique and I will be back for my next suit purchase. So why only 4 out of 5 stars? Because I have been a bit disappointed over the past couple of years with the buyers for the store's merchandise. I am a mid-aged man of normal build and they seem to have a buying preference now of the 20 - something, thin build with a slight feminine preference. Not very attractive merchandise for someone like me and deterring me from buying my regular clothes here. But still love the service. read more

I managed to wander into the shoe department hesitant to ask for a size 11m woman's shoe- I want comfort and style- I figured this was it. One salesman RAN a step ahead of me to keep from having to deal with me. I am not that unattractive- I AM however, over 200 pounds- ( so sue me!) The next one that came near got snagged- and He brought out pretty much every comfort shoe they had in my size- made no judgments on my budget- as it was , my budget was unlimited for the buying spree as I live 350 miles away and had ventured here just to shop. I bought two pair- 238 dollars- one a not very pretty but comfy slide with VELCRO- as I said, not pretty- and a pair of pretty thong sandals- I do not think I got a very good deal- So when they semi annual sale came along not much later on the INTERNET- I bought three pairs for about 100 dollars and was very satisfied- I do not think I will return to the Hidalgo st store for my shoes. read more

I absolutely LOVE Nordstrom!! The shoe section is to die for. It's also split up into sections that caters to certain budgets (from high end to juniors). Nordstom has clothes that will please all sorts of tastes and budgets (it's on the pricier side but totally worth it!) The store is divided up into different sections, so it is easier to maneuver through. The juniors (BP) section is a great place to get good quality clothing and jewelry for a fraction of Nordstrom's usual prices. They have a good selection of the latest trendy clothes and jewelry. The prices are pretty reasonable which is a plus. They even have a bridal boutique! I have yet to try the Bistro, but sometimes, the restaurant hands out random samples while you're shopping, which is a nice treat. I also want to try out their spa. It smells amazing when you walk past it! The rewards program is really great! After 500 points, they send you a $20 gift card. They also give some customers a complementary valet parking card to use every time. No more worrying about finding a parking spot! I really like the ambiance of Nordstrom. It's not too upper class/snobby like Neimans but it's not mediocre like Macy's. I'm always happy when I'm here. The customer service is IMPECCABLE. For Christmas, my mom wanted to get my grandma something really special. As we were browsing the store, we came across the St. John section. Mary was such a big help and we ended up with the perfect outfit for my grandma. She loved it. Another plus is that Nordstom's alterations department hemmed the pants for free! Mary also sent us Christmas and Thank You cards, which really showed how much she cared. If you bring your things to customer service, they will box and ribbon your gifts for free. You should definitely come here if your budget allows. If not, come during their amazing sales and find yourself something special! read more

A friend had recommended I come here to get fitted properly for a bra. As soon as I walked into the lingerie department I was greeted by a very kind young lady, Esria. She got me sized properly and then asked what kind of bra I was looking for. I explained what I was wanting and what style I liked. She quickly went to find exactly that and returned with many choices. She was very kind and thorough. She even went as far as to help me find the bras that I liked once on the sales floor. They didn't have my size in a certain color so she helped me to order it and have it shipped to my house. I will definitely be coming back here for my bras and looking for her to assist because she was just that helpful. read more

Poor customer service all around. My personal shopper sent me a purse to consider without mentioning that I only had 14 days to return the purse. I was out of town when designer purse arrived and didn't even look at it until almost a month after I received the purse at my home address. I called the store and was given a huge run around telling me to call multiple different places for help. Finally a customer service person told me to bring the purse to the galleria store and they would help me return it to LV for a refund. I drove the purse to the galleria location and was told the purse could not be returned since it was over 14 days from purchase. My personal shopper just said sorry it's out of my hands it's up to the designer handbag company. I do not like the purse and and have no recourse now but to pay almost $3000 for a purse I won't use. Beware of this policy. Will never shop at Nordstrom's again! read more

You will notice as soon as you enter, there is a very calm and pleasant aura about this department store compared to most others. The staff is always very attentive. There is a lot variety from trendy to traditional. They have crazy awesome sales..although men get only 2 sales a year I think. They will let you return items even after 30 days: I purchased very expensive pants that started to show a lot of wear after only a couple of washes and they let me return both...about 6 months later. We waited forever till someone finally helped my cousin with a Tory Burch wallet only to find out it was scratched on front! I went to the Galleria recently to buy a new suit. I started off at Brooks Brothers. They have some very nice suits that were in the upper end of my price range. The saleswoman was very helpful but just too pushy for my taste, so I didn't feel comfortable buying from her. I then went to Saks, knowing that most of their suits would be out of my price range. They had a few that I could afford, but the two salesmen working the suit department were entirely unhelpful, despite me being the only customer there. I realize I wasn't buying a $2000 Armani suit, but they could at least made some effort at making a smaller sale. Then I went to Macy's, but the salesman there just didn't seem knowledgeable at all (he told me the jacket shoulders could easily be altered to fit me better - ha!), so I quickly left there, feeling sorry for anyone who had bought a suit from that guy before. Then I found my way into Nordstrom and was greeted by William. I told him what I was looking for in a suit, and he quickly showed me 3 or 4 that fit my requirements, including price limits. In fact, two of them were on sale for 50% off, and luckily it was one of those that was my favorite. So, I got a $900 suit for $450. Unlike so many salespeople out there, William was willing to show me what was best for me despite his commission not being as good as a fully priced suit. Because I was so happy with him, I bought an extra shirt and two more ties than I had originally intended, since he deserved it. The whole experience, including the fitting and tailoring, was outstanding. If you're looking for a men's suit, go to this Nordstrom and ask for William! He's the best. read more

I've had so many good memories at this Nordstroms throughout the years. I've been going here since my very first Prada handbag at 18 and have been going here every time a trick takes me shopping. Their workers are easygoing and friendly especially the young Hispanic gentleman in the purse section that works on weekends. He has a fun personality and takes care of me even if he's not making a purse sale from me. There was a Phillipino lady in the lingerie area who knows more than the typical Victoria Secret sales associates about finding the right bra/support/fit and was very patient/accommodating with me when I tried dozens on. And also one of the associates even went out of her way to take off the last size 0 jean off a mannequin to let me try on! The customer service here is just spectacular! I was wondering why most of my friends have Nordstroms credit cards and always buy from here as opposed to competing stores. Once you've tried all the other department stores you'll realize the difference as the problems you have there would probably not even be an issue had you purchased from Nordstroms. Just read their return policy and you'll know why they have the best customer satisfaction. If they don't carry the brand or item in the store I still purchase from them online as their online service is equally efficient and quick. I always purchase high end goods from Nordstroms for a peace of mind. read more

For a retail department store, they have the best customer service and return policy is terrific! Went here to exchange a shirt I got online from the anniversary sale from last year and the rep didn't care I had bought it from last year since it was still on sale for this year's anniversary sale. She kindly did the exchange for me from the 15.5 size to 14.5 with no fusses. She also gave me some recommendations on a few other items from the sale especially some shoes but unfortunately didn't want to splurge too much lol. Went to Nordstrom's during their anniversary sale . Was at the Kendra Scott counter , teller the man there the purchase is for my sister and I need a gift receipt. Puts them in tissue paper and a Nordstrom bag . I asked for a gift box the answer is they do not provide them for Kendra Scott earrings . Really? 200.00 and I can't get a box? I go over to the cosmetics area the Womans follows me I tell her I need a new blush foundation and consealer by now we are at Chanel area and says get this which one do you want? I said well would t that be your part of this to let me know which one. She says please look around and let me know which one. Leaves me to go talk to another customer who was in their teens. Told the woman at the perfume counter after my purchase how upset I was she says the representative should not of done that. It was not busy that day it was either a Monday or Tuesday at 6:30 . Oh it still got better I went to buy a handbag from Marc jacobs the sales person greeted me and I picked out the one I wanted and then waited and waited and waited for him to get off the phone I can't even make this up so disappointed in my treatment that day read more

I ended up not purchasing anything because they didn't have what I was looking for in the correct size/color/style but the sales girl who helped me was fantastic. She had to go in the back several times looking for my size and was super friendly and helpful and didn't seem annoyed at all when I ended up walking out with nothing. I would rather pay more for something and have fantastic customer service that get something on sale and have employees who ignore you and leave you to dig through racks all on your own. read more

I bought two pairs of shoes from here and tried to return it because after a couple times I used them, they were starting to peel. I had to watch when I wore them because of this. I decided I wasn't happy with the shoes and I paid a lot of money for them. An employee on the shoe floor was helping me and offered to exchange them when the manger shows up and tells me it is normal for it to that. I have the same shoes in different colors and it does not do that. So much for your great return policy Nordstrom. I will not be returning to shop here. Thanks! read more

Worst Nordstoms ever! Traveled from San Diego to Houston for work. Got caught in a torrential downpour at the Avis drop off, car broke down before we left the lot. Avis could do with more coverage at pickup and drop off but that's another story. Only in Houston for one night for work so shoes and dry clothes were needed especially a bra! Hey the Nordstoms anniversary sale is on...shoes and a dry bra!!! Well, the shoe department was helpful but the lingerie department could....care...less that I was even in the store. It was the anniversary sale but 3 on a Monday there were only about 3-5 shoppers in that department with the employees chatting at the registers. I asked for help and answer "um...sure" told her what I wanted and needed and she she handed me 1 option, threw me in a room and never came back. Had to go back out and get a new size and waited and she never came back...so I left. I have traveled all over the Country and have never been more disappointed with the service than here. I am a loyal shopper but would discourage anyone from shopping at this store. read more

I have been to nordstrom many times, the dallas location is a lot better, customer service wise on the floor, and people whom dress the part for a job..The barton creek location in austin is...okay, but This particular store in houston, I would have to say is on the opposite end of the mall for a reason, and a part I won't continue to walk to. Save your money and go to Saks or Neimans, same product, better service as in, they aren't goofing off, gossiping in corners, eating and drinking on the floor and looking like they don't care to be there at all, and you don't have extremely eager "sales people" trying to take every little bit out of your hand,a lot of their employees either smell like weed or cigarettes. 90% of the employees are upstairs drinking with me on lunch breaks, or at Saks, peli peli, no joke. with their nordstrom employee bags and all. And the designer section ? If they steamed their clothes I may want to buy them off the rack but definitely not in the condition that they are in. Crystal and Pam on the second floor are the only reason I still buy from there and even then, I have them pick things out for me and send them to my house. I don't dare go into the store anymore. Saks shoe department has a better display and set up, half the time in nordstrom you can't even tell who is shopping and who is an employee. Their dress department always always looks like a cyclone hit, I went for a dress one time, I tried on a 6 and needed an 8, they said they had 3 in the store, 3!!!! they couldn't find one, after me helping them look for 45 minutes i said forget it their manager desiree? came out and said well sorry i don't know what to tell you!? really you have 3 dresses on not so huge of a floor and you don't know what to tell me, well let me tell you, I took my $730 over to saks !! where they even through in alterations, had it hand delivered to my house when finished and a hand wrote letter on how they appreciate my business ! St john department seems like they have a "club" huddle every time i pass by, it is like where every one meets in the store to gossip, and take pics with merchandise, store merchandise as they are employees??? Like I said, opposite end of the mall for a reason. Save your money, your frustration, and time, go to the saks or neimans, or tootsies,where the merchandise is treated as well as you would treat it, the companies take pride in their employees and their employees love working for the company and love making you the CUSTOMER their number one priority! xx read more
