This location has both its pros and its cons, so I'm very ambivalent about it. It's always very busy so it's difficult to find a parking spot, they sell out of the smaller sizes very quickly, and there is always a very long line. However, the staff is always extremely friendly and willing to go out of their way to help me. So despite it being so busy I stop in every so often. I was pleasantly surprised when Nordstrom Rack was added to Northgate Mall. I love the rack for everything from trendy fashions to major purchases. The only disappointment in this particular store? Plus size section is very small & hardly has anything worth buying. The shoe department is really large, but they lack is some sizes. But, I am glad their is a rack closer to home now. (On 6/25/2019 around 2pm) Being watched like a hawk by the security guard, who ironically is a person of color as well, while shopping with your toddler who's in a stroller, isn't the best experience. I'm not trying to say it was a race issue, but it definitely felt like one. I think a corporate refresher on racial bias and prejudices may be necessary. Needless to say, I still walked out of the store with a little over $300 in purchases because a bad experience won't stop me from getting great deals. Do better though! read more

Having this store so close is really, really dangerous for the ol' bank account. I found some adorable spring dresses there recently. The dressing rooms are well organized, and you can check-out with anyone in a green shirt. I usually go earlier in the day so it's not busy at all, and you can have all those gorgeous shoes nearly to yourself. You may need to devote some extra time since there are endless racks of clothing, and sometimes I only find one thing that works for me, but most things are steeply discounted, so I figure it's worth the effort. read more

First time I've been in a Nordstrom Rack. There is a decent selection at pretty reasonable prices. They have a large shoe selection too, but seems like the shoes are still pretty pricey. I didn't buy anything but only because I didn't find anything I really liked. This won't be a regular shopping place for me. read more

So far my favorite Nordstrom's rack in Seattle. They did a great job of converting the old Toys 'R Us location and managed to pack in an excellent selection that includes more higher end labels. The kid's area had a great selection of clothes and sizes (even Juicy Couture girls stuff!). The women's designer shoe section was also a jackpot. They do have the newer checkout system, but I opted to stand in line the old fashion way as I wasn't able to find any employees to help me out. read more

First and last time visiting this Rack. I had a return that was a gift for my son from a family member, but I didn't have a gift receipt. The cashier proceeded to tell me they would only be able to take it back with some sort of proof of purchase. HUH?!? I assumed she thought I was trying to get cash back, but no she proceeded to say that in order to give me a store credit they'd need to have proof of purchase...mind you this was all for a $19 shirt!! I then spent the next few minutes having to look up all of the possible email addresses that could be tied to the purchaser's rewards account. I was able to provide an email address for the purchaser which matched a rewards account, which then linked to a receipt that (gasp!) proved that the shirt in question was purchased. The cashier then said in a snarky tone, "Well since this WAS a gift, why don't I give you a gift card" - her tone still implying that I was trying to get away with something. She handed me the gift card without even the slightest apology for making me jump through ten hoops just to make a return for a $19 STORE CREDIT. When I told my husband about how off putting the return situation was the first words out of his mouth were, "So she definitely thought you had stolen the shirt..." Yeah, that was my thought exactly. I won't be back...thanks but no thanks! read more

This is one of my favorite Racks. Until they changed the women's section anyways lol. The staff is pretty friendly and helpful and there's always great items and great deals. I do wish they'd stop rearranging the departments though. If it wasn't for that I'd say 5 stars! read more

Love it here. More organized and together than a lot of other Racks I've been too. Customers service is always on point. (huge in my book) and lines never too cray cray, even if it is a weekend. Love the selection that is offered at this location versus most. Also like that if I didn't find what I was looking here I could go to the full line which is on the other side of the same mall. Parking is great and prices are out of this world. Number one place to look for jeans and shoes. Best part is that I don't have to go to a fixed cashier to check out, they are all mobile now so I can check out anywhere in the store. Love the Rack! read more

09/26/17 11:45 am, Nordstrom Rack Northgate branch Wow!!! I was so astounded by the rude cashier I had today! I checked my receipt and her name is Wanesha. She was on the middle cashier (3rd machine from the left side of the row). First, she never smiled even once! She was acting bitchy and all because I told her that I have a rewards card when she put in the items in the bag! I asked if it will recognize my card and automatically give the rewards. She went on like "you're supposed to put in your phone number before you purchase! There was not an option like that on the screen where you slide your card so I was kind of waiting for her to ask.... And the other cashiers usually ask for it first before finalizing printing the receipt! She never asked! And I've been staring at the screen and it never asked me to type my number either!! Then she stared at me and scolded me about encoding my number first next time with such a pissed off face. I kept quiet and waited for her to make the call. I mean I get that she must be tired standing in the cashier but giving me my rewards for my purchase is not too hard to do! She called it in and guess what? it didn't even take her a minute to do so! Now I am sitting here wanting to return the items I got because I just don't want to remember such horrible customer service experience anymore. I am a regular in this particular branch and Next time I will be skipping going to her cashier. read more

Finally a Nordstrom Rack in North Seattle... and it has lots of free parking right in front of the store! Selection is good and merchandise is very well organized. Staff are friendly and helpful. They do tailoring on site and it was free with my Nordstrom card. I will definitely be back! read more

Although in general I love the Rack for most types of clothing--after a recent experience I would no longer consider buying a mens suit there, there are just too many other better options and I'm stuck with a suit with a completely unfixable design flaw I can do nothing about! I recently bought a suit and had it altered. In my haste, I noticed a significant bunching on the lapel, which appeared wrinkled, though it looked like something that could simply be pressed out. I asked the employees a number of questions before finalizing the purchase but forgot to ask about the lapel. HUGE mistake on my part. On trying on the suit after alterations, the employees agreed it looked like it could be pressed out but asked the alterations person to confirm. After checking he informed me that not only would the mistake keep coming back after being pressed, it was impossible to fix by altering. The person who originally sewed the garments made a mistake when sewing the lapel and it can't be reversed. I couldn't do anything, I had already paid for the suit, which IMHO should not have even been on the shelf in the first place. He told me I could just press the suit every time I wear it. Yeah right! (To be fair, the wrinkling diminishes noticeably for a moment when pressed/steamed, but this only lasts around an hour or so). *If I had purchased the suit online, any reputable company would have remade they suit for free.* The suit should not have been on the shelf in the first place. The flaw is just too noticeable, and can't possibly be fixed. That shouldn't ever happen on a suit that cost $500 after tax and alterations (marked at $800 originally). Be warned, check suits carefully for wrinkle (especially around shoulders and lapels) when buying as these may be structural flaws in the suit that cannot be fixed. Ever. My loss. Lessen learned. Get a suit online and save yourself the trouble. There are a ton of good places--Indochino, mytailor.com, Knot Standard, Black Lapel, etc. I have had a much better experience buying online. You will get better fabric, your suit will fit better, you get free alterations (most places), and the suit will be totally remade if you are unhappy with it. Don't be the guy who spent 500 bucks on a suit writing a bitter review! read more

This Nordstrom is by far the best around. 10 times better than the Tacoma location. I love shopping at Nordstrom because it is so convenient there are always people there to help you whether it be set up in a fitting room or Fashion ideas, not that I am saying I will take their ideas for fashion most of the time LOL. They have the best return policy around, you don't even need your receipt and they give it back to you however you want it. Although the Norstrom rack store at Northgate Way in Seattle is decent and the staff is nice and friendly, The women manager is ridiculously unimaginative, lacking management and people skills. I will never be returning. On two different occasions, they have refused to accept my returns and been extremely rude about it. On the first occasion, they sold me a defective jacket that had the inseam of the sleeve sewn shut. I attempted to return it with the receipt, but they would not accept it because I had not gotten to returning it until after the return period. However, this was around Christmas time and they had told me when I bought it that the return period was extended. I had to argue with the cashier for 30 minutes before he finally agreed to let me speak to the manager. Again today, I tried to return a jacket. When I bought this item about a week ago, the cashier forgot to put the receipt in the bag, and they also never ask for my Nordstrom card here so there was apparently 'no record' of me buying it, although it had tags attached and the whole 9 yards. The cashier was totally clueless and told me that I should go to Nordstrom instead and ask them to look it up (?) I have had to waste a lot of time on their careless mistakes. I spend a lot of money at Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack and am very disappointed about their quality of service. read more

I've shopped at Nordstrom Racks all over the country and have found the Seattle location (Lynnwood, downtown, Northgate) to be limited in its selection and picked over. That being said, the latest Nordstrom Rack addition is spacious and uncrowded, if lacking in selection (ie. A larger designer section, more clothes in general). I first visited early December and found a good selection of purses available. After Christmas, these purses had all but disappeared and others took their place. Like all Nordstrom Racks, going frequently is the key to finding something worthwhile. Also have to give a shout out to the incredible customer service at Nordstrom. Regardless if I'm at a Rack or the regular Department Store location, the staff have been helpful and patient. Apres Xmas, I stumbled in with a return - a pair of fuzzy slippers suitable for your dream trip to the Himalayas. I had no receipt, no tags on the shoes - nothing, except a copy of my Visa bill. And they were still able to refund the money, no questions asked. How awesome is that? That, plus the convenient check out wherever you want a la Apple stores will keep me going back to the Rack. read more

Roll the dice: it's not fancy like Nordstrom proper, but they do get some good stuff. Here's the trap - there's a lot of horrible junk and it makes the ok stuff seem awesome by comparison when it was really still not good enough to sell at Nordstrom. So make sure you bring your ability to filter and see an item in a context other than the mound of comparatively awful crap you dug it out of and you'll get some good deals. read more

This is one of the most organized Nordstrom Racks I've seen. It doesn't quite have the amazing selection of Bellevue or downtown but its still pretty good. They have a great rack of basic cardigans and a permanently great selection of hosiery. They're a little short on jeans and shoes. Overall, I love having a Rack in Seattle with parking and sans the hectic-ness of downtown! read more
