She could have helped this once with like a warning and changed the appointment but she didn't, she went on to argue with me over the phone and did nothing to help she took my deposit, money that unfortunately I don't have. getting my nails was a gift and something I don't do often and thanks to Gloria I won't be able to do. in my first appointment a client came in about an hour late and she took her so it's so UNFAIR that she couldn't take me in.

Basically, I wasn't sure of this place because the neighborhood was unfamiliar to me and a little out of the way of the beaten path. But you can access this place easily via the L (gray subway line) - get off at the Myrtle-Wyckoff and walk a few blocks down Myrtle towards 71st Ave...Catalpa Avenue is a small road on the left. Here is why it's worth it to go to this place. It was my very first waxing. The Waxer, June, took a peek at my, um, situation, and said that the hair was too short to wax away properly, but that if I had the patience, she would pluck out the hairs. Well, it was nothing for me to lie there comfortably and have good conversation with her...but she was ridiculous, stooping over for about 45 minutes being a perfectionist and making sure every last hair was gone! She didn't even charge any extra for this outrageous special treatment. Afterwards, I got an immaculate, long lasting mani/pedi (and they weren't acrylics). I feel like I was charged $50 for EVERYTHING, because I was there for the Monday-Wednesday mani AND pedi for $15 deal. I tipped her $10 bucks and wish I'd given more. I regret that I do not recall the business's hours better. If I lived in New York, I would have been back enough times by now to know all this by heart. So, sorry to be that reviewer without all the precise info, but I had to start off the reviews for this place because it is too great not to miss. Now, some of you other Brooklyners should give the place a shot and help promote this great salon. Everyone secretly wants to find that understated salon in a random neighborhood where a personable nail and wax artist does a six-star job for a stunningly good price...well, this is one of them. She kept applying and removing layer after layer sometimes four coats at a time; while having me put my hands under the drying light. I've seen one nail tech there around 3 times and she's always been pretty good. I've also seen one who was not as much of a perfectionist and didn't have the attention to detail that I prefer, but my nails still didn't look bad. However! I went a few days ago and ended up with a very quiet nail tech named Elizabeth. I showed her a design that I liked and she nodded her head and said okay, though she mentioned my nails might be too short. I was a little nervous but hoping for the best. My nails came out so good!
