Not just food, mind you. Appliances, shoes, tshirts and underwear, computers, televisions, vision and optical, a full-service pharmacy and even a discounted gas station out front. If you're looking for a mecca to capitalism, world trade and just-in-time marketing, this is the spot. The process to sign up took entirely too long because the young lady wanted to talk and we just wanted to shop. But then we had our card and our shopping cart and we're filling it up with a bunch of stuff that we needed, we just didn't know that we needed. Keto pizzas, fresh grapes (not for the dogs!), a massive bag of spinach (yes, this is for the dogs), several bags of frozen veggies and more. Not everything was cheaper than Amazon or ALDI, but lots of things definitely are. You will want to be careful, don't shop hungry, and be aware that just because they sell it, that doesn't mean that it's the cheapest way to get it. We walked out with $330 worth of stuff. About what I expected. Costco gasoline is about 30 cents cheaper than the cheapest station in Charlotte. Now that South Carolina has raised their gas prices and it's no longer worth detouring past Carowinds for a tank of gas, I suspect I'll be back here just for gas. Walked in, was greeted immediately, and there was nobody at pickup. The associate came over in less than a minute, my order was already ready, and I was in and out in under 10 minutes. That's how pickup should work. I was also looking into a magnetic phone clip, and the associate pointed me right in the right direction without being pushy. The mouse was reasonably priced, the store was clean, and the customer service was solid. Definitely recommend this location, especially if you already know what you want -- order online and just go pick it up. Quick, easy, no hassle.

That said, this is a note on my experience over 4 visits to the Rivergate location in 6 months of living in the Steele Creek area. The product selection at this location is reasonably good and the store is kept neat and clean. In my visits, I have seen very few other customers at the store, so I am concerned about the long-term survival of the store. I don't know how long it has been at this location, but I've seen similar degradation of customer quantity at other locations that were historically booming so it seems more widely symptomatic than a given location. The employee engagement and customer service at the Rivergate location has been fantastic thus far. I've needed help finding particular products in the store, had to process a return, and made a purchase with delivery and installation. In all cases, I was met with friendly encounters with positive outcomes. As far as Best Buy goes, I really have nothing negative to say about this location other than I'd like to see a wider product selection. That said, I again recognize the difficulty in making that so.
