I went to Nori for the first time on Saturday and it was fabulous! We had the cutest waitress who was very attentive and the food did not disappoint! I HIGHLY recommend the Sakura Tuna! We even got our waitress to try it! It is also BYOB which is a bonus! It also wasn't crazy busy and we didn't have to wait to be seated at all! I can't wait to go back!

This was our first visit here. The service was great and staff was friendly. There was a good selection of sushi, it was fresh and we enjoyed all of it. Bonus that we were able to bring our own wine.

Sushi was good, I got take out, but the place looked like a great spot to eat and was festive for the winter holidays with decorations. I also got there early and I felt they really take their time putting together each roll to make it right.

Love this place! Good sushi, great service, and nice ambiance. FOOD: Good - I'll definitely be back. (1) Miso soup: Delicious. Just what I needed on a cold day. I can't ever get sushi without miso soup. (2) Nigiri: Pretty good. I've had better nigiri but for the Midwest, this is fresh fish. (3) Tempura: Really good. I love a shrimp tempura, but my favorite from this dish would have to be the avocado. (4) Tekka Don: Okay. My boyfriend said the tuna in my nigiri tasted better. (5): Sake: Delicious. This sake was sweet but not too sweet. Easy to go down. SERVICE: Fantastic. Our server was super polite and helped us choose a sake. I was hesitant to get sake but agreed because my boyfriend wanted a bottle. It was so good that we made note of the name so we can get it for ourselves. Thank you to the server for the recommendation! SPACE: Clean and cozy. Mostly small tables. I wouldn't come with a group larger than 6. Excited to come back!

I came here with my family and we got the nori grand sushi and sashimi combo which is an amazing deal for what you get. The fish was really fresh and everything is perfectly shareable for a party of 2-3. On the top we got the chicago crunchy crazy: this was so fun to eat because of the burst of tobiko eggs and I love the combination of fishes and the mexican roll: the flavors for this one was different with the fresh squeezed lime and chili oil but everything worked so well together! The ambiance was really cute and quaint and I would recommend to others!

Got my sushi fix! I haven't had sushi in over a month and it's usually a weekly thing for me. . . Got a chance to stop by one of my favorite happy hours at Nori! They are BYOB and on Mondays they have buy one get one half off on sushi rolls. They have multiple locations but my fave is the lakeview location. We got the dragon maki, negihama, and spicy tuna.

Decent neighborhood sushi place! Nothing spectacular but hits the spot if you are in the mood for sushi. It is on the pricier side for the quality, but the service was good and I left really full. What we ordered: -Nori Grand Sushi & Sashimi Combo: I'd give it a 3/5. Negihama maki was good. Didn't care for the escolar jalapeño maki. If you just want to try a variety of their fish, I'd recommend getting this. -Spicy creamy scallop sushi: 5/5. Favorite thing we ordered. -Salmon toro sushi: 4/5. Was okay. Not as melt in your mouth as some fatty salmons I've had in the past. -Hamachi: 3/5. I would skip this -Hotate/scallop: 0/5. I almost spit out this piece. Texture was so strange and chewy. Scallop pieces I've had in the past just melt in your mouth but it wasn't the case this time

Came again on a Saturday evening @6pm and there was no wait which was great. BYOB - paid for the $5 cork fee. Ordered the Tropicana and Crab Shogun! I'd say the tropicana was better than the shogun in my opinion. It was a bit sweet - yum! Crab shogun is ok - I would give It a 3/5. Miso soup was yummy again as well :)

Sushi was super fresh and really tasty. The flavors were so different but I really enjoyed each one. Ingredients tasted fresh. Prices were reasonable as well. Overall sushi and apps were pretty good, however I will say I didn't love the ramen. Broth was very fishy which is just not my favorite.

Not bad at all. Priced a good bit higher than Gorilla or Sakura, but tolerable. Would go more often if it wasn't so expensive.

I almost decided to save Miru for our next visit, but I'm glad I made time for breakfast here on our departure day. Located inside the St. Regis Chicago, the restaurant offers beautiful views. The service was excellent--attentive, friendly, and professional. I ordered the Tokyo Breakfast. The salmon was perfectly cooked and paired beautifully with rice, a soft-poached egg, and salmon roe. The miso soup was slightly salty on its own, but it worked surprisingly well when enjoyed with the rice toward the end of the meal. Overall, a memorable breakfast experience. I'd love to return and try the lunch or dinner menu on my next trip to Chicago.

The sushi is phenomenal, as were our drinks... but the other entrees are disappointing. The karaage and duck yakisoba in particular in quality could be from any corner restaurant in Chicago. The service lends itself more casual, and I noticed they were consistently quite slow to clear our table. I don't think people come here for the food as much as the views. Overlooking Streeterville from this angle and vantage was truly jaw dropping and for this reason I still strongly recommend Miru.

My only critique is the pacing. Since the chef already had the fish sliced and prepped, I expected a smoother flow, but the meal took about an hour and a half for 14 pieces of sushi. It felt a bit slow, especially for a lunch service. That said, if you're looking for a reasonably priced omakase with quality fish, this is a solid choice.

Both were great. Our bartenders were lovely and very friendly. Found out this is a Malort tasting room and we were able to sample some different Malorts (the cocoa one was good!). Then we were taken back to our table for dinner. Our server was super friendly as well. Started with the miso soup and crispy tuna bites which were probably my favorite dishes. The taki yoki fritters weren't bad either. We saw people getting omakase, so we ordered a yummy looking piece they were receiving. It was just okay (chutoro truffle). The nigiri was also okay. The tuna piece was the only I really loved. The fish quality wasn't as high as I was expecting. The sushi was decent. A little too much truffle in the spicy blue fin tuna and a little too vegetable forward in the hamachi serrano. All in all, the atmosphere and amazing service pushed this up to a 4 for me.

The restaurant houses both an omakase counter and an izakaya, but in completely separate spaces. The omakase side is an intimate, beautifully designed counter with around 10 seats. We were the only guests that evening, so the whole experience felt wonderfully private -- just us, Chef Shoji, and the fish. Chef Shoji opens the meal by presenting the actual fish you'll be eating, all flown in twice a week from Japan or Spain. It immediately signals what kind of meal you're in for. The 20 courses were well-paced and the quality was consistent throughout. Nigiri and sashimi were pristine, but the hot dishes were equally impressive, which surprised me. Both sides of the menu showed real craft and attention to detail. Service was fantastic -- warm, attentive, and never stuffy. At $210 per person, it's a special occasion meal, but one that genuinely delivers on the price. As someone who eats a lot of omakase back home in LA, I wasn't sure what to expect.
