She's done 3 cleanings on me, the 1st visit she prescribed a process for me to do at home. In the 2nd and 3rd visit my conditions had improved! This is a testament to her talent & knowledge as a professional. She patiently took the time to address my concerns and explained everything she was doing. She didn't try to upsell a procedure just laid out the facts plainly and solutions. Loved that! And on top of all this, her staff is very accommodating and cordial. I was recommended to her by my friend so I decided to give this location a try. Dr. Carrasco is not only very informative but you can also tell that she truly cares about her patients. It is not one of those dental offices where you feel rushed and you feel like you weren't given any information about your teeth. As others have testified, Dr. Carrasco is absolute the best. Besides being a caring, wonderful person, she's a pro at what she does. I've been going to for at least 4-5 years now. I love that she also does the cleanings so I feel that she really knows my teeth and doesn't just walk in for a quick procedure. And just when I thought I couldn't love her anymore, she fixed a chip tooth recently that was making me self-conscious. I can't even tell which tooth it was now. I told her she's an artist. I had an appointment for Dr. Noris A Carrasco at 30-96 35th St, Astoria, NY 11103, yesterday, and after arriving I signed in, presented my insurance cards and then filled out the paperwork required. I waited a reasonable amount of time then was called in and Dr. Carrasco introduced herself and asked me to sit in the dental chair. Dr. Carrasco asked me when I had gone to the dentist last and where and so on. She then told me was that she had a "surprise" and proceeded to explain that she no longer had a laboratory. That the person doing her lab work for many years was closing and she could no longer do work needing any lab work. I came to realize she was referring to dentures etc. I was very confused as to why she would accept my appointment in the first place if I couldn't be treated. She then told me that she could do x rays and an exam and a tooth cleaning but other than that..... This was presented to me in a extremely vague manner. I asked her if she could recommend someone in the immediate area and she said all her friends were retiring and that she could not. I was totally baffled at this point. She said that I needed a multi-functional dental group and she thought there were a few on Steinway (Ave) and I should look into that. I was also told by Dr. Carrasco that her front desk may give me some names of such dental groups on Steinway. I then asked her if nothing could be done then why was I given an appointment in the first place and her tone changed as if I shouldn't be questioning that and her answer was how was her office staff supposed to know I needed dentures? I actually didn't explicitly tell her during our conversation that I wanted dentures. I didn't discuss, really, what I expected. This was a very strange experience. I took Dr. Carrasco up on the teeth cleaning and nothing else since I knew it would take time to find somewhere else to go and I might as well get a cleaning in the meantime. I wouldn't recommend this dentist at all. I now honestly feel that anyone presenting themselves in such an unprofessional manner shouldn't touch anyone's mouth. This visit to Dr, Noris Carrasco's office was bizarre to say the least and I would suggest to anyone looking for a dentist to keep looking. read more

Had a check-up and cleaning with Dr. Carrasco and I highly recommend her. I was seen on time and she provides very helpful and unique tips on oral hygiene using inexpensive baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, and coconut oil. My father visited Dr. Noris for the first time about two weeks back. She has excellent reviews and I'm surprised! She failed to provide my father with adequate dental care and any type of relief for his oral abscess. I'm so very disappointed and upset that a provider could be so careless and indifferent to a patient's problem. Horrible at treating patients effectively. She did not diagnose it either! She instead offered a $600 oral injection that she claimed would give relief. But $600??? Come on! With no explanation whatsoever as to what the injection exactly is. If she had diagnosed him properly, something like google did so easily, his abcess wouldn't have worsened. I would never recommend. read more

Dr. Carrasco is the nicest, most caring and most knowledgable dentist that I have ever come across. I never thought that I'd actually enjoy going to the dentist. Dr. Carrasco gets one star for having a nice personality but the rest of the experience,very disappointing. Both my parents have been her patients for at least 15 years and they had full trust in her until now. My father is 76 years old and in January dad needed a tooth to be removed. My sister took him to Dr. Carrasco and called me from there telling me that she cannot do it. Dr. Carrasco got on the phone with me and she told me that she is not comfortable doing the procedure because of his history of pancreatic cancer. She worried us by making us think that maybe he does need special dentist so I took him to Sloan-Kettering for consultation. After the examination the dentist at Sloan-Kettering was surprised that Dr.Carrasco did not want to treat my father. He told us that because he has never had chemo., never had radiation, he only had surgery to remove the tumor and he is not on any kind of medications besides high blood pressure med. that he has been taking for 30 + years my father is like a regular patient and any dentist can treat him. He doesn't need their expertise because they only deal with cancer patients. They gave us the panoramic x-rays and told us that if Dr. Carrasco needs to verify with them that it's ok for him to get treated she can call them at any time which she never did. I ended up taking him to my oral surgeon in Manhattan to remove the tooth and there was no issue at all neither with the procedure nor healing. My father insisted in going back to Dr. Carrasco so we book an appointment for cleaning. I was there with him when she went over how important it is for him to take care of all the cavities as soon as possible because if left ignored it can affect not only his teeth but his overall health. I told her that I purchased dental insurance for him because I knew from both my dentist and Sloan dentist that he needs a lot of work done. She said ok and that she will call me and let me know what it's covered and what it's not. Her office never called me even though I called them 2 times and both times they told me they will find out and let me know. He went back for 2 cavities and then my father told me that Dr. Carrasco told him everything is good and the next appointment is in 6 months. I thought my father misunderstood so I called her up and asked her what happened. She told me and I Quote "Because he had cancer in the past I don't feel comfortable doing it. Also he has deep cavities and fragile bones and he might end up with root canals. I want to wait 6 months to see if his gums improve and then see what can be done." I was shocked. How can any professional dentist send a patient home to wait 6 months knowing that he has cavities and only tell him to use hydrogen peroxide w/water and expect for the oral health to improve especially someone that is 76 years old. She offered to recommend another dentist only when I expressed to her how disappointed I was that she refused to treat my father because he had pancreatic cancer in 2015 and she was well aware not only that he has been cancer free ever since but he had the tooth removed a month before without any problems and if she had any doubt she could of contacted Sloan dentist and his physician for reassurance but she never bothered to reach out to them. My dad doesn't want to travel to Manhattan to my dentist so I ended up taking him last week to Dr. Volker which has no problem treating my father. This dentist was also surprised why Dr. Carrasco refused to treat him especially that he has 12 teeth that need treatment and one of them has a pretty bad infection that needs a root canal as soon as possible. It is very disheartening to see my father turned away from getting treated because he is elderly but especially because he had cancer in the past. No matter how nice Dr.Carrasco speaks and how attentive she seems to be she failed us in a big way. read more

I can't say enough positive things about my experience with this dentist's office. The staff was great, not dismissive, had personality. She was genuine and kind and gentle, but she also was encouraging. I have a holistic health regimen, and she does too. We talked about using baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to maintain my teeth, not expensive treatments. I am a smoker, and she didn't make me feel bad, but she did tell me which tools to use and how diligent I needed to be. She helped me retool my unintentional bad habits and excused me for not ever having maybe been taught how to do dental care properly. Probably the most amazing part of seeing her was that she minimized my anxiety by walking me through a breathing exercise while she was meddling with my teeth. Dr. Carrasco is the BEST. I've been going to her for a couple of years, and she is the warmest, kindest lady and a really great dentist. I even moved out of Astoria, but I'll still make the trip back to see her! I appreciate her conservative approach, and instead of trying to drill and bill for expensive fillings (I've had other dentists say I had cavities which turned out to be fake) on some tiny spots, she said she wanted to watch and wait, and since she gives me good gentle reminders about flossing, etc, my teeth have been fine. She gives natural options and recommends baking soda and water with hydrogen peroxide to help keep my teeth and gums healthy, and gives a lot of attention to detail from visit to visit and while doing a really thorough cleaning. Full disclosure: I've been late a couple times and I think I was a little rude to the staff about an insurance issue? (can't remember now), but they have always been really nice, professional, kind, and accommodating. She's really gentle and great at cleaning, and she had me do 4/7/8 breathing which I thought was so smart and thoughtful to help me be comfortable. Also, her sweet and kind energy is really the best and I always feel better leaving than I went in. Highly recommend!!! read more
