    Turkey

This is by far the best Turkey I have ever had in my life. I have always hated turkey but my God this was so beautifully cooked , seasoned absolutely amazing. I am so in love with this turkey!!!! If you aren't catering a turkey from here for thanksgiving you do not know what you are missing. Best Turkey ever, juicy, and literally falls off the bone for how tender it is!!!! And excuse the presentation it was a long bumpy drive.

Iced Cafe Latte with Whipped Cream (: & A Fresca Chicken Salad , everything was delicious

This was my first time trying out the Normandie Bakery Cafe. And it was delicious , I ordered an Iced Latte with Whipped Cream and a Fresca Chicken Salad with Avocado. ( Btw i added the celery sticks at home xD ) And i ordered a Lasagna for my great-aunt and she loved it! Service was great , the cashier / server lady was very attentive and kind. Everything was yummy! Food was fresh and delicious! - They have a great selection of pastries & cakes & other baked goods. As well as Jams and Fruit Preserves , & Imported Italian Candy , & many other snacks & goodies. :D - I had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Chef : Josette LeBlond , She's really sweet and nice! (: - Place is cute and decorated pretty. Love the vibe. Hidden gem :3 ( well sorta hidden but ykwim ) Friendly Service & Staff , Clean establishment, and more importantly Good Food. (: Prices are moderate & imo the food speaks for itself. (: - I Definitely recommend this place. I was pleased in the service , visual presentation , quality , and taste. I'd rate The Normandie Bakery Cafe a Solid 4.7 / 5 Stars (: Keep up the good work! You definitely gained a new customer today! haha :3

So after trying the chocolate mousse birthday cake and my verdict is as follows: the outer layer of chocolate was delicious and tasted of high quality chocolate. The cake itself was a bit dry and the 'chocolate mousse' layer had a bit of a rubbery texture.

LOVE this place! And I love Josette, who never ages. Such a spunky, bouncy person. The BEST croissants and baguettes this side of Paris. Josette old me that she sells up to (more than??) 2,000 baguettes a day, because she furnishes so many restaurants. I noticed the neighbors also drop by for bread or pastry. Hot coffee in the morning on the front counter. Josette bought this place in 1989 and the bakery/restaurant has been bustling ever since, keeping Angelenos on the westside full of delectible French goodies. This year, she is catering one of the Oscar parties in Hollywood. She has been awarded for excellent business practices by the French Consul General of Los Angeles at a banquet held in her honor. Go for a casual breakfast. Most (all?) of the tables are outside, along a covered front patio. HAVE A CROISSANT. Did I mention that? That they are the BEST CROISSANTS THIS SIDE OF PARIS?? Ok, then... The omelets are also superb. Or go for lunch. Delicious specials that change daily. And have a croissant... Almost forgot to mention the delectible pastries, which are displayed in a case in the small front space. (Behind is a humongous kitchen where the magic happens.) I bought some pear tarts for my Swiss neighbor, and she said they tasted just like her mother used to make. Sometimes you get lucky and get there just when the croissants are coming out of the oven. Incomparable. Ham and cheese croissants, chocolate croissants, cakes, pies, and gourmet French cheeses. You just gotta get here. Parking sucks but you can figure it out. If it's a slow day (rare) you can park right in front. Josette, I love you!!! xox Stay who you are and continue to delight us with your treats for years to come!

This place saved my daughters 17th birthday! I was down to the last couple days and didn't know where to celebrate my daughters 17th. I drove by and saw a sign that said have your next party with us, so I popped in! I spoke with the owner-a French chef named Josette, who was so good to me! She helped me plan a brunch for 20 guest and made my daughters request of a strawberries & cream cake! Side note: The ham & cheese quiche was DIVINE!! Thank you Chef Josette for making our celebration so special and all for a much more reasonable price! Xoxo

    Normandie Cafe @ Toast Cafe ?? #scam

This woman is a scam and trying to pull a fast one on the patrons of Toast Bakery on W Third Street, She took Toast over from the previous owner BUT KEPT THE TOAST NAME (I'm assuming because it's a 18 year old iconic LA cafe and she wanted to benefit from the name recognition)... yea, nice try!! She has completely gutted the Toast menu which now has extremely poor quality food and 1/5 of the selection. Any remaining items are completely different and taste disgusting. She has also plastered her face all over the restaurant, including a cardboard cutout of herself (talk about an ego!). Here's some advice- if you're taking over a well known establishment and making such DRASTIC changes to every aspect of the place, CHANGE THE NAME!! Toast now is giving off scam vibes and this woman is clearly spearheading the whole thing. The food tastes like crap and I'm sure the food here does as well.

    Onion Soup

A friend recommended this place to get a good pastry. Otherwise, I would have never found it. It's not in a very conspicuous place. I ordered a French onion soup and bread pudding. I ate the bread pudding in my car. I only meant to take a quick bite but I couldn't stop myself. The French onion soup was just luscious. One of the best!!

I have experienced the best service and most welcoming customer service in a long time. Josette and her staff were pretty amazing. I'm always returning for their well sculpted Croquembouche which is a cream puff tower of fresh goodness which is unique and great for any special occasion. It's definitely a hidden gem and is also worth checking out for lunch and dessert.

They said tres leches this came was dry and had a geltine like white pudding in the middle very awful
    Anush O.

I would not recommend anyone coming here . They are expensive and have no idea how to make cake or pies We orders pecan pie and tres leches . How does one mess up on a tres leches idk Don't go here make the drive go to Porto's

They had an air-conditioning unit set up outside and even handed out cold water to people waiting in line. It was such a thoughtful touch and a great example of their customer service. We had a potato knish, matzo ball soup, and a pastrami sandwich combo. Everything was delicious. After trying the pastrami sandwich, I completely understand why it is so famous. The quality and balance of the rye bread, pastrami, coleslaw, and Russian dressing were just perfect. The service was also quick, efficient, and professional. The pastrami is so tender, juicy, and melty, the rye bread is perfectly soft on the inside and satisfyingly crispy on the outside, and the coleslaw and dressing are simple, yet perfect compliments to the meat and bread. This sandwich really is f****** incredible. It was absolutely worth the 40 minute drive. As others note, this is not the best or safest area of LA. But the restaurant itself is clean, classic, inviting, and nostalgic. Shoutout to our server Eve. She was so sweet, genuine, and knowledgeable. Excellent service. But back to the food. A 10/10 sandwich that lives up to the hype. The iconic pastrami sandwich is so iconic for a reason.

As soon as we walked in, we were met with an unpleasant smell of musty carpet and meat. The dining area is huge, with few other diners seated for dinner. You are offered free pickles to start, which are limp. The menu is huge, and the service is indifferent - we needed a little more time to decide and promptly lost our server. The prices are absurdly high for what you get - over $20 for most sandwiches, and the cup of soup for $8.50 is literally around a teacup size. I got a turkey club, which was extraordinarily dry and the "thick-cut bacon" were mostly thin crisps. If you want to have fries on the side for their "Deli Favorites", they charge extra. (In fact, the steak fries were the best part of the meal). Overall, they serve average food at way above-average prices for what it is. Definitely would not return, the meal had me wishing I had gone to a Subway instead.

Order online and have some jump out of the car to pick up your order. There is no seating inside but maybe a chair or two outside. The neighborhood is a little rough around the edges so you may want to get that food to go. We tried three sandwiches and they were all huge. The crispy chicken caesar wrap is phenomenal and I am not one who usually orders this particular sandwich anywhere. It comes with a creamy sauce that I might have drank directly from the little cup. The wrap is packed full of chicken and it is refreshing and excellent. It doesn't look huge but trust me, the wrap is packed full and you will be plenty satisfied. The Antonia sandwich comes with turkey, cheese, avocado, tomato, and garlic aioli. It isn't all that unique a creation but for what it is, it is very fresh and very good. It came loaded with delicious turkey. The Martha sandwich (chicken salad, apples, fennel, argula, herbs, etc.) is on special right now. Personally, I am not a big chicken salad guy but you get a lot of it and the person in our party who ordered it liked it a lot. We also tried the arancini and they were excellent. You get three arancini balls and fantastic vodka sauce on the side. This is a winner. To be honest, practically the entire menu sounds great to me. Keep in mind they are closed on Monday and Tuesday. While you can order online, I'll always choose to go inside so I can browse everything they have to offer. Their selection of fresh pasta salads is fantastic, and the desserts are always tempting. Whether you're craving lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, a chicken Parmesan sandwich, or one of their many other Italian specialties, you really can't go wrong. Be sure to check out the wine section in the back left of the market. It's extensive and absolutely incredible! This is the kind of place that keeps people coming back year after year, and it's easy to see why. Being Italian American and growing up with an Italian mother who loved feeding everyone, this was one of our favorite places to visit together. Those memories make every trip here even more special. My personal favorite is the Godmother sandwich--hands down one of the best you'll ever have. It's packed with flavor, made with quality ingredients, and it's the sandwich I find myself craving every time I come back. One of the things I love most about this place is the atmosphere.
