I was a resident at Norte for 13 months, and overall, I really loved living here! The only reason I moved out was because the rent and community fees became too expensive for me. Pros of the surrounding area: Norte is super close to ASU and several large corporations, including Deloitte, State Farm, Carvana, and KPMG. It is also right next to the freeway, which makes getting on and off the freeway very convenient and provides easy access to the North, South, East, and West Valley areas. There are also plenty of restaurants and other places to eat nearby. The area itself always felt very safe to me. Norte is right next to Tempe Town Lake, which is great if you enjoy walking, running, biking, or fishing. The lake also provides some really nice views! Cons of the surrounding area: Although being next to the freeway is a major convenience, it also means there can be quite a bit of traffic and congestion in the area. Similarly, being so close to ASU is a huge pro, but traffic can get especially congested around the area when school is in session. Pros of Norte itself: The building is very nice, modern, and well-maintained, with great amenities. My neighbors were always nice, quiet, and respectful. The building is kept very clean, and housekeeping regularly takes care of the carpets, gym, and community room. The leasing agents are also very nice and helpful. I never had any major issues with them, and they were always willing to help when I had questions or concerns. Assigned parking is another big plus! The onsite maintenance team was also great. Whenever I needed something fixed or had an issue, they were very responsive and helped me out within 24 hours. I really appreciated how quickly they handled maintenance requests. Cons of Norte itself: Be prepared for the elevators to take FOREVER, especially during busy times. There are only two elevators that service the entire building, including all six residential floors and three parking levels. There is also no cell service in the parking garage. This was never a major issue for me, but it is something to keep in mind, especially in case of an emergency. There is also no freight elevator for moving in or out, and the regular elevators are on the smaller side, so moving furniture can be a little challenging. The gym is extremely small and does not have every type of machine, but it is still decent for an apartment gym. The pool is also pretty small, although it was usually not very crowded when I used it, so this was never a huge issue for me. Finally, Norte uses APS rather than SRP for electricity, so my electric bill was a little higher than I expected. Overall: I really enjoyed my 13 months at Norte and would recommend it to someone who values location, cleanliness, modern amenities, and being close to ASU and Tempe Town Lake. The main reason I left was simply the overall cost. If the rent and community fees had been more affordable for me, I would have been happy to stay! He didn't rush us; he took the time to answer all our questions, pointed out details that really mattered, and made the entire tour feel relaxed and informative. I went there for a tour after making my appointment online. The person at the leasing office seemed like he was being nice but he said to me there is no way that that apartment would be empty by the time we would move in so it would be pointless to show me the apartment. I highly doubt that given their high prices. Also, then you could have let me know of this since I wrote exactly which apartment I wanted to see and what date I would be able to move in when making the appointment. Why did you make me come over there to say this? They don't even have a parking space for potential customers, so you have to park at Ten01 and walk from there. So, he made me do this and then told me to do away basically (but in a nice way if it makes a difference). Even if the place remains available, I won't be going there obviously. read more

Do Not Rent Here - I Fear for my life walking through the hallways and using the elevator. On Friday morning, I was physically assaulted in the elevator by another resident. When I informed the complex's manager Juan of the incident and he told me that other individuals in the elevator had reported the incident, he stated that they would not provide the witnesses information to the police without that individual's attorney agreeing to the disclosure. While I understand the importance of privacy, their lack of transparency and initial unwillingness to assist with the investigation shows a complete disregard for the safety and well-being of their residents. I was also informed by Juan that the complex would not take sides in disputes between residents. Later on, Friday I spoke to the local police department which stated that I would need information on the witnesses to build a strong case. Since Juan and the complex were withholding such information, I could not provide them with that information. The police later informed me that they had received a written and verbal statements from the witness that corroborated my report. No one from Norte Town Lake or Fairfield Management contacted me to inform me of any updates to this matter until I contacted them mid-morning on Monday. I contacted Norte and spoke to Juan as well as the district manager explaining to them that I felt unsafe in the complex and that their response was unacceptable. They told me that they had ultimately decided to provide info to assist the police and evict the individual, but it would take time to go through court. I asked them to place 24-hour security on the elevator until the individual is evicted and they refused. The individual who assaulted me walked up to me in the elevator, unprovoked, screamed and me and then assaulted me with no apparent motive. This resident previously walked up to me in the elevator and screamed and swore at me. Anyone wishing to take an elevator to reach their car on one of the underground parking levels will need to take the only elevator that currently serves that floor. They, like me, will have the same opportunity to roll the dice on getting onto the elevator with a seemingly unhinged and violent person. The complex has not sent out any messages to residents to inform them that a fellow resident was assaulted in the elevator. Security does not seem to be a priority at this complex as the garage gate is regularly broken, left open, and a resident's car was broken into. This is not the experience I would expect at a luxury complex. read more

Living was horrible . Juan (the leasing agent) told me upon move in that all carpet is replaced no matter what if you own a pet at no charge bc of future rent any (which I did own a pet ! Upon move out I shampooed the carpets professionally and they looked brand new . But they sent me a bill for the carpet of 600$! I've leaved at Norte for nearly 3 years - I moved in during Covid and right before the property mgmt changed. I have lived in a number of apartment home complexes in about 5 different states and this is the best experience I've had. The mgmt has very little turnover and are wonderful, friendly staff who always respond in a timely manner. Every time I have come to them with an issue or concern they are extremely attentive and provide a lot of support. Juan specifically always makes time to answer my questions or just wave hello. Maintenance are great and kind and very reliable and fast. I'm a bit older than most of the residence but everyone here is very friendly and quiet. There's noise from the street (namely cars that rev their engine) but the units are extremely well insulated. The common areas are cleaned daily during the week which is really nice. There's lots of nice communal space so it never feels too crowded in any one spot. read more

I lived here for nearly 2 years. It is a somewhat safe location but if you are a woman do not be out on the lake alone walking or running etc. Uber drivers and delivery services can never figure out the location for some reason which is extremely frustrating! Amazon packages are often left in front of the parcel lockers. Our unit was extremely haunted and had a lot of paranormal activity. The noise level is horrible- if you hope to get a good nights sleep do not get a Unit near the street, also are upstairs neighbor was a complete nightmare for six months with no resolution! Norte is amazing place to live! However the leasing office staff is terrible. They are two of most unprofessional employees I have ever met. The DAY AFTER my move they called me 21 times (at work) in 3 hours for keys. They used my emergency contact list and scared my daughter to death. They actually also entered my apartment illegally two times. So immature that they were actually calling me on MULTIPLE LINES AT SAME EXACT TIME!!!! Both of these employees (Juan, Bianca) need to be terminated immediately!!! Fairfield and Norte should be ashamed of these employees! I have had a great experience living in this building. I have a lot of experience renting and I would say this is the most responsive and timely property management company I have ever worked with. I have had the most interaction with Juan in the office. He is super personable and friendly. Always responds to requests/concerns right away. I have also had some interaction with Bianca. Again, personable and quick to take care of any concerns that arise. Jeff is the maintenance person who I am most familiar with. The response time for the maintenance team is beyond any property management company I have ever worked with. They are quick to respond and thorough in taking care of the request. I feel safe and comfortable with them coming into my home when I am not there. They will even leave little notes that my cat was sweet etc. I was nervous when a new company took over more than a year ago as I thought the last one was great. I can't help but this place always brings a huge smile to my face when I come home to relax in my wonderful apartment. Everyone at the leasing office is so kind and wonderful and management does an incredible job at keeping the hallways and elevators clean and smelling fresh which I REALLY appreciate. The maintenance person is very friendly and judging by the condition the place is in means he's doing a really good job. In a town full of notorious "luxury" apartments disguised as overpriced dorms, it is so refreshing to be somewhere legitimate, safe and quiet. The complex itself is very well designed with highlights such as well integrated underground parking, rooftop deck with killer views, a great little gym, beautiful patio areas, amazon lockers, kayak rentals, wine bar and friendly residents. The people, the management are absolutely the best. I was already telling people how much I loved Norte before moving in because they made the application process and prep to move in so wonderful. From the moment I met Juan, I felt so at ease to ask questions and feel truly cared about as a resident. From the beginning, Juan and Shania have had me smiling through every step - even the paperwork! Yes, even paperwork. I am so beyond grateful for how great this complex is but really? I moved in May 2020 when it was still Jefferson Town Lake. I Had some issues initially with getting the comps I had been promised, but other than that, the new management had been pretty reliable in updating the property and the overall day-to-day operations. In Jan 2022, my rent was raised by over $400 a month, along with most properties in the area. The new management is very corporate and seems only concerned with making money. Bianca, the main manager, cannot really be trusted. Make sure you get any conversation with her in writing as she often will change the conversation around to benefit the complex. Juan was great to work with, and I often tried to deal with him on most things without any issues. I moved out last week (July 6) and planned on writing a fairly positive review until I received two calls from a collection agency today (July 14). On July 1, I paid all of my July dues, as shown in my account. Before I left, I cleaned the apartment from top to bottom and left my keys as instructed. The debt collectors they sold my debt to (debt I was not made aware of) are ruthless, even calling my mom after moving out not even a week ago with a zero balance. I received no communication from Norte stating I owed anything further or that anything was wrong with the move-out. Upon looking at my account, they billed me on July 11 for several random charges totaling almost $200 and instantly sent them to collections. What an unprofessional and greedy way of ending a tenant/renter relationship. After this experience, I will never lease from Norte Town Lake or any Fairfield Residential property again and advise you to steer clear. I plan on fighting the charges, and thankfully, I took pictures of the apartment showing the condition before I left. Renters beware. read more

Within my first week of moving in, I had $700 worth of stuff stolen out of my vehicle that was parked in the parking garage. This place has no security cameras where they should have some. It's been about a 1.5 months now and my boyfriends $600 bike was stolen even though it was locked up in the garage. I told the leasing office and they told me there has been MULTIPLE stolen bikes in the past couple weeks. It's suspicious that they don't try to warn residents after something is stolen. My boyfriend tried posting a message about the stolen car items and they did not approve it so they can hide this criminal activity happening at their location. There is also homeless people that live under the bridge that is 30 feet away from the nearest door to the apartment building. Absolutely not impressed by their willingness to try and help residents not get their stuff stolen. Do not live here!!!! read more

Horrible leasing management. We applied for a unit and submitted the application/admin fee and then were told that unit wasn't available. We were told we'd get the full $300 back but only received $100 and were then told because we backed out we wouldn't be refunded any more. Reached out to corporate who said they would refund us the other $200 but when I inquired a few weeks later where the check was, I was told the apartment complex has to cut the check. Who runs these businesses where they tell you they'll refund you money and then don't? Horribly operated apartment complex. The fact that you lied about a unit being available and then refused to refund us our application/administrative fee is outrageous. read more

The day of, I walked in and they told me they had already sold the unit - but they didn't feel compelled to let me know I was traveling from out of state. extremely inconsiderate and turned me off from even wanting to work with them. I do not usually do bad reviews but here it is. Terrible manager who would not get out of her office to resolve issues with customers. I moved in a Tuesday, so the Monday I called and checked if everything was in order and asked if I could pay online so the move in would be smooth. I learned that day that Jefferson was now Norte and I had to sign a new lease, not a big deal. And that the manager was going to email me the lease later in the day (Monday), long story short, I never got the lease even though I called two times and was told two times that the manager was taking care of it. I decided to come on Tuesday at 10 am, again long story short, we were 4 people moving that day, all of us waiting and not one lease ready. The excuse was they were short staffed. Being understaffed is NOT an issue, but not managing being understaffed is. It would have taken a simple phone call (back) on Monday saying "I apologized we are understaffed and I will not get your lease by tonight, neither tomorrow morning so would it be ok for you to come at 1 pm and everything will be ready?" That's it. I would not have been super happy but I would not be writing a bad review. Additionally to no leases ready, no communication were made on what was going on until I "lost" it and asked for the manager at 12:30 pm, after 2h30min of waiting in the office. Again long story short, I got my keys at 4:30 pm. I got no tour of the place (due to COVID I didn't visited the place and they knew), no heads up about the internet deal they have with Century Link, no explanation on the package delivery system (which became an issue later) and I am currently working on finding the safety number because "I heard" there is night security on site. Also, pool parties with music at 2 am and 4 am happened. I have been a resident for 3 weeks. Sorry it was long but still is the short story! BUT location is great, prices are fair, my unit (studio) is super nice, small gym but quality equipment, nice community areas, rooftop with a perfect sunset view, cleaning ladies are very nice. They do clean a lot and it seems like they want to make this great place an even better place so I am positive and just hope they do not let this middle of the night pool parties be a thing. Oh and I hope the manager takes some leadership and communication classes :) PS: If it were to do it again I would, I would just be prepared for a terrible customer service experience but a cool place to live! read more

I just recently moved in about 2 and a half months ago! I think the property is beautiful and the renovated apartments are past my expectations! Juan and the assistant manager in the front office really helped me out, they go above and beyond any expectation! When you typically go to an apartment complex to take a tour, they will only walk you through the best parts. In the case, Juan will walk you through the entire facility as this place is absolutely perfect, well kept, and clean. I was looking through the other reviews about Norte explaining how exceptional the new management is, and they are spot on. For anyone looking into moving here, you definitely are making a good decision toward a happy lifestyle beside Tempe town lake overlooking beautiful architecture and water. Some of my favorite parts of the complex: -Jacuzzi "infinity pool" overlooking the lake -The lounge w/ a pool table, stove, oven, fridge, and giant connect four - Rooftop that's great for sports games as it overlooks the ASU football stadium and has a giant flat screen tv, grill, and tons of seating, sunsets, and just hanging out. -Gym, I canceled my gym membership as the apartment gym has everything you need as very convenient and rarely crowded. -Courtyards are beautiful -Close to Mill and ASU campus -15 minutes from Scottsdale, 15 minutes to Phoenix, easy to hop on the highway -I never feel unsafe, security is on-site, garage and building locks at night, and residents are given a key fob to get in - I just found this out the other day but in the garage, there is bike storage that is locked and opened by a key fob that they provide when you move in, it's air-conditioned, monitored by cameras, has a water bottle fill-up station, and a bike pump. I'm seeing the improvements I've been hoping for living here for a year and a half now, now I can gladly say that the new management has been doing a lot better with the current tenets here. I'm glad we are now having security make sure other residents are following the quiet hours because of how noisy it can get with the new college students coming in (I'm one myself, just older). With that being said, I feel like my renewal lease has been going much smoother than last year. Hopefully the elevators will be next on their list to fix/maintain better. read more

My roommate and I moved here 3 weeks ago and we have been loving it here ever since. It started with the tour. Shania was an absolute doll with her up peppy attitude and vast knowledge about all things Norte. If I could leave a 5 star review on that girl alone I would. Also someone give that woman a raise! Juan in front is always quick to get up and help. He helped me with setting up my parcel app as well as helping find lost packages for me. The amenities are very nice I go to the gym 5 times a week and there's always something new for me to do. The rooftop lounging area is my favorite spot to get away tan and read a book. The pool is a little small however it has an amazing view. The apartments themselves are very clean well laid out floor plans. The open concept makes our 913 sqft feel big and spacious. Our kitchen has a gas stove, a nice deep basin sink, and stainless steal appliances. Do not even get me started about the wine fridge! If you live here I recommend trying to find an apartment in the courtyard areas because of street noise. That's what we did and you can only hear the occasion jerk who doesn't understand the reason why people have mufflers. Hope this helps you guys in your Norte experience! read more
