These guys are recommended through the Trane website so I scheduled an appointment for a quote. Per the website I made requests for two consecutive days in the 12am - 5pm block. I received a quick call back about my first slot and asked if they can do a time later in the block (I couldn't). So we settled on the second day. That day I received another call asking for a time outside of the block. I changed my schedule to accommodate them. No show. Let me start by saying that Vigen lived up to his word, which (as a customer) is extremely high praise. Our 36 year-old rooftop Central AC quit over Labor Day weekend and Vigen came out on a holiday at no extra charge and gave an estimate to fix it. My husband and I elected to replace the unit instead, and Vigen gave us several options, but recommended a unit that was $2500 more than my neighbors (with identical units in the same townhouse complex) had paid for theirs. He explained that the AC units my neighbors bought were insufficient and not as high quality as the one he recommended, and offered financing options to make the purchase more manageable for us. After speaking with my neighbors, Vigen was proven 100% right -- they admitted they regret their purchase and wish they had spent more, like we did. Vigen finished the job for the price he promised and we now have a whisper-quiet, energy efficient unit that should last us for years to come. I first called Vigen and North Air for an urgent replacement of a heat pump in my home office. The previous contractor had installed a no-name brand from Egypt and it was impossible to get replacement parts or maintenance. I'd stumbled by with it for 5 years and this breakdown was the last straw and time to replace the thing with something recognizable. I called three contractors - left messages for two and a third promised to call me back sometime before the end of the day. Called North Air and Vigen came out right away. Despite the fact that it was during the holidays, he got the new unit and did the replacement ASAP. I called this company to come and check the heater system they install. First off the guy had no clue of what i was talking about, it seems they don't keep records of what they install, so your 5yr warranty is no good, but they will offer to come and check if they installed system for a fee of $65.00, plus $126.00 per hr for labor just to check the serial number and the name of the unit. My A/C air handler had a slow leak that eventually turned into a full gush of water coming down from the unit as the coils were extremely dirty and needed to be replaced. I had a very old air handler that had not been repaired and maintained well. The first person I called barely spoke english and did not really know much about A/C which is why I called North Air. Vigen from North Air recommended a new unit as my old unit was beyond repair due to the age of the unit. Vigen and crew were very professional and installed my new air handler quickly and efficiently. By 1 PM I had a functional(and a lot better cooling) A/C. Perfect timing as the weather in So. Vigen was helpful and friendly. He and his crew came out on short notice, and earlier than normal to accommodate my work schedule. He reviewed our unit for a new condo, and fixed the unit by replacing the freon. He spent time to review control settings and thermostats. We had him come out a second time to review freon during intense heat wave, but the freon was fine since he fixed it the first time. Update: the new AC flipped my circuit breaker shortly after installation. I called North Air and Vigen came over right away and diagnosed a bad water pump and debris in the air handler, which he replaced and fixed free of charge. He also came over the next day to upgrade my circuit breaker to the correct amperage for the condenser unit. Vigen is the consummate professional at what he does. Our older central air unit was struggling. No one wants the expense of paying for a new unit, but it had to be. Vigen alerted me to the fact that the older unit was leaking oil causing it to work that much harder to inefficiently cool the house. We need more Vigens in this world! I cannot speak highly enough of this company-particularly Vigen who has been to our home twice this summer. Our AC went out in July during the height of a midsummer heat wave. Our previous serviceman was not available for 4 days. I scoured Angie's list for a reputable company and was impressed by North Air's reviews. Vigen arrived promptly (same day) and had our unit up and running within the hour. He had all of the necessary parts on his truck, was very thorough in his explanation of the issue, pricing, and options, and was incredibly courteous and respectful of us and our home. This evening when our unit shut off, I didn't hesitate to call North Air again. It was already 6:30 pm, so I figured I'd leave a message to schedule an appt tomorrow. Much to my surprise, I was able to speak with someone, and...hold onto your hat- Vigen was at our front door within 20 minutes. Apparently the pipes had frozen on us and the filter needed replacing. Vigen kindly explained the situation, ran the heat briefly, and was on his merry way. Beware of Robert at North Air. He may know his business but his practices are unethical and dishonest. Over the phone he quotes a $120 service fee which is quite high but may be worth it. After he gets there, the charge became $200. He is in a rush and asks if you want to get it fixed immediately to avoid another $200 service charge. Over the phone, a thermostat is $269. He told me I needed a thermostat with some wiring. The price he gave me was $1200! He told me the thermostat was $375 and it was just a simple one. But how did he charge $1200 for a $200 service charge with $375. It adds up to $575 to me, how about you? Then he told me everything was fine. The next day we still had problems and had to call another company. They noticed that the condensation pan was full of water and leaking. How did a $200 service fee not see this. I hope he changes his practices and doesn't try to take advantage of his customers. read more

We had a problem with the heating in early December. Called and got two estimates from separate companies to come and check. They tried to fix it but couldn't find the issue. We then called North Air. They came and checked our heater. It turns out that we didn't have a heating problem; we had a zoning problem. When I needed a new A/C company to come out and change my air filter and make sure it was all working ok, my neighbor recommended we speak to Vigen at North Air. I called and Vigen was super friendly on the phone and available to come out a day later. He came out and showed me that the last filter that had been installed in our machine was the wrong size, and that the inner casing was missing! He was quick to order me the correct filter, with the casing and came out two days later to install it all. He also checked out my compressor and showed me where some wires were sticking out and explained that this could be dangerous in case an animal tried to chew on this (as we have a dog). I knew the company had been a referral from a neighbor and figured with two great referrals I could not go wrong and I was right. Vigen and his associate Ararat were able to come within a day and arrived promptly which is rare for service people. They assessed our problem and were able to get the oem part and install it also within one day. Both men were meticulous and worked quickly to complete the job. We gathered estimates from various companies and contacted North Air Inc based on a referral we got from a friend who also lives in Burbank. Incredible service.
