Back in the 1990's, we used to go to their original Grant St. location when they still had the brown booths. Fast forward to now, there's a Daly City branch. Currently, there's a promotion on their website, to-go only, large three topping pizza for $30, plus $1.50 hidden fee. My large sausage, pepperoni, tomato pizza $31.50 w/side of pesto $1.50 was great. Loved how the crust is sort of crunchy. The pizza was perfectly cooked. Good job staff at NB Pizza Daly City.

    Calzone

Came for the calzone, returned for the pizza. Good calzones are surprisingly hard to find around here - especially of the vegetarian variety. Chose the personal size Creamy Garlic Veggie Calzone with garlic sauce, mozzarella, ricotta & feta, spinach, mushrooms, artichoke hearts, garlic, olive oil, and parsley. Yes please may I have another. Really enjoyed. But dang I had ordered online and when I came in for pickup the lonely cheese-forward slices just sitting in the glass case were calling to me. Nothing special but I take out all the time and sitting in the restaurant for hot crispy-crusted slices fresh out of the oven was just so tantalizing. The location is a little random but there's dedicated pizza parking right in front so I didn't have to battle the gym customers for a spot, which I had feared. The restaurant looks nice enough inside but it could have used a more lively atmosphere with beers and games on more tv's, or some music, or some something. The space is also surprisingly large and the staff was a little gruff. All good though. Good food conquers all. Came back yesterday and the slices really hit the spot, as expected. I sat at the bar seating facing the window to the parking lot and kicked a long ladder under my feet being stored there so there was that. In truth is the North Beach crust my fave? Naw, it doesn't taste and was a bit thick and chewy but I liked the sauce and cheese. It was just such a luxury to take a few minutes just to enjoy. I scorched my mouth but the slices were plenty worth it. I work nearby so Ima come back.

    A personal calzone

Was getting my car serviced and needed a place that was within walking distance where I could grab lunch. North Beach Pizza came up in my search results so I crossed the street and came in. There was no lunch crowd so I was able to immediately go to the counter, get my order placed, and grabbed any table I wanted. The guy brought me some plate and silverware and even a cup of ice water. I had ordered a personal calzone (garlic veggie flavor) which took about 10-15 minutes to come out as they make it fresh to order. For a personal size, I was shocked by how large it was - see my picture for reference. Half of it was more than enough to fill me up, but at least you're getting your money's worth! The calzone was perfectly baked with a nice crispy, yet soft crust. I was a fan of the ingredients inside as well - if you like white sauce, garlic, and veggies, this is the choice for you. It comes with a side of marinara sauce, which I didn't like as much - the sauce tasted like minestrone soup without the broth. It came with chunks of cut up veggies, which is typically not what I think of when I think of marinara. The flavor was still good, although I preferred to eat the calzone without it. When it was time to go, the guy boxed up my uneaten half for me and it made for a great meal the next day.

The food and service is amazing here. This restaurant is casual, and they have a big screen TV so you can watch the game. The employees are friendly and helpful. I ordered the Spaghetti and Meatballs. The portions were generous, and the food was tasty.

I'm glad there's a North Beach Pizza in Daly City. I'm a fan of their pizzas, but for this visit, I wanted to try out their pasta. I ordered Fettuccine Prawns. Generous serving size of pastas with lots of tasty tomatoes, onion, and peppers. The prawns were a good medium size, but I think I had about 5-6 pieces. The prawns were cooked well. I enjoyed the pink sauce, but I wish the sauce was just a little thicker. The dining area is clean. The staff was friendly.

A few days ago I had written a bad review for North Beach due to a delivery of a burnt pizza. But today the manager Enrique called & apologized for the service and offered to correct it. I really appreciate that he personal called & I can tell that he was really concerned with my food experience. So I take back my bad review & will continue ordering from them. Because overall their pizza is delicious!

BIZARRE!! My wife and I walked in around 4:47pm and ordered two pizzas to-go. We were told it could take up to 40 minutes since one was a deep dish, totally fine. But at 5:20, after waiting patiently, we were told they couldn't make our pizzas because they were "out of cheese." Out of cheese? At a pizza place? On a Friday evening? That alone is hard to believe. But what's even stranger is that after over half an hour, it seemed like they hadn't even started our order. So either they made a mistake and gave our pizzas to someone else, or they just didn't want to serve us. The whole situation felt off. Maybe it was an honest error, but it left a really bad impression, especially when you start wondering if something else was going on the way they rushed us out (we called shortly after and they were taking pizza orders). Whatever the reason, it was super disappointing and honestly kind of bizarre. Someone there owes customers an explanation for how this kind of thing happens.

Lured in for the free slice of cheese pizza on grand opening on 4/26. Staff is friendly, restaurant is clean. However, a few details they could have handled a bit better. Like the Happy Holidays banner that is still on the wall from its past life as Cybelle's. Or forgetting to remove the soda cans from their cardboard boxes in the glass case. We also noticed a salad bar station that was covered up and when asked about it, the woman was still unsure whether they'd consider offering it. So for now, it's just taking up space. Small details but they do matter when it comes to first impressions. The cheese pizza was just ok, the sauce wasn't very flavorful and crust was dry. The wings, while perfect to me, were dry and overcooked for my bestie. Lastly, if not for their 50% off promo on whole pizzas, their pricing is very expensive at at least $40 for a medium. That's on par with Toto's steep pricing. Hopefully they consider doing a happy hour for us to return.

I mostly come here for the espresso & to practice Italian with one of the cashiers who is a native speaker. They throw on a basketball game and sometimes if it's super slow, the staff will come out from the back to watch. The setting is pretty small, four or five tables indoor seating only w/ ethnically Italian artwork strung along the walls w/ a REALLY nice interior paint job. I've enjoyed their panini sandwiches & some pasta dish (can't recall the name). Have yet to be disappointed by Buona Italia Caffe! It seems like they also take reservations for larger parties, I've came in a few times where three or four of the tables are strung together for family dinners. The business appears to be family owned & operated. Keep up the awesome work & thank you for being a centerpiece of Pacifica culture. Ya'll are the cat's pajamas! LOL

I had the smoked salmon panini and my buddy had spaghetti with meatballs. The Panini was good. The French fries were very good. My friend reported that the spaghetti was disappointing. Service was excellent and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. There are not very many tables here, so plan for takeout on the busier nights. I plan to grab something and head down to Winters. Parking is easy enough and if you go for lunch it's a nice neighborhood for a walk afterward. You're just a few blocks from the seawall. Where this place can improve is by giving us a more "home cooked" touch. It's the difference between good cafeteria food and my friend's Italian Nonna making us dinner. Give us that home-cooked Italian comfort. I would have given 3 stars, but that 4th star is because the prices are a good value, and that is important nowadays. However, I would be willing to pay more for higher quality dishes. Give it a try. On my next visit, I will try the chicken piccata.

To be quite honest the pesto gnocchi I ordered was actually horrible. Usually they brown the gnocchi in some butter and it has the best yummy taste but this fell so flat. No brown butter and no kind of browning on the gnocchi at all. It had 0 taste! I had to chew it and wash it down with water or my wine! So diner beware. Other than that the pizza was great the wine was great and the price was right! I would come back but I would have to try something different if

It certainly helps that their 15+ years in business has probably already earned them "neighborhood institution" status, but so does their popularity! On just about any given night, you can easily find a decently sized crowd here! Compared to the likes of Elena's, George's Donuts, and Khao Tiew, the look and feel of Trattoria da Vittorio isn't nearly as trendy or modern (if anything, it's starting to feel a little dated). At the same time, though, it actually adds to their appeal, as everything about this place feels so friendly and approachable. Similarly, the menu feels a bit basic, but in a good way - their wide array of appetizers, pizzas, and entrees may not have a bunch of bells and whistles, but it's quite varied and doesn't lack for enticing options. Plus, it's family friendly as well, as they even offer pizzas shaped like Mickey Mouse for kids. -- HOMEMADE PAPPARDELLE PASTA WITH OXTAIL RAGU This isn't listed on the menu anymore, which is a shame since it used to be my friend's go-to dish (sadly, no photo). Each time I had this, the pasta was always well cooked with just the right thickness while there was never any shortage of oxtail meat. -- ANTIPASTO DELLA CASA - Charcuterie Board with Prosciutto, Mortadella, Hot Coppa, and Salame Kind of hard to mess up a charcuterie board, but, regardless, this was great! The overall portion size was relatively generous and all four of the meats were delicious, especially the hot coppa. Nice that they also included a side of baked pizza dough, as well. -- FRIED CALAMARI & ARTICHOKES with Tartar Sauce and Marinara Sauce Nothing fancy, but no less tasty. Although the batter definitely felt somewhat dry and unseasoned, I liked how crispy it was. Plus, the calamari and artichokes were flavorful and the dish, as a whole, wasn't super oily. -- ORECCHIETTE with Spicy Sausages, Broccoli Rabe, and 'Nduja Not quite what I expected, as the sauce had a bit of a kick to it, but this was still pretty solid. There was a fair amount of sausage/'nduja and broccoli rabe in this, but, while the pasta was cooked to a nice al dente, I wish this had more orecchiette in this and less sauce. -- GRILLED POLENTA with Gorgonzola Mushroom Cream Sauce This left me feeling a bit conflicted. On the plus side, the polenta was great - each piece was crispy on the outside and hot and soft on the inside. However, the Gorgonzola Cream sauce was kind of rich and got to be a bit much after a couple of bites. -- POLPETTE - Homemade Meatballs Served with Toasted Bread Nothing spectacular, but pretty darn solid. The meatballs had a nice beefiness to them, but they didn't feel overly heavy or dense. Plus, I like how the tomato sauce wasn't too sweet either. -- UOVO PIZZA with Eggs, Pancetta, Wild Mushrooms, and Mozzarella Cheese Aside from the uneven distribution of toppings, this was terrific. The eggs and cheese added a bit of richness and I really liked how well the mushrooms and pancetta complemented each other. Just a drizzle of truffle oil would've rounded this out perfectly. -- DOLCE PIZZA with Spicy Sausage, Mozzarella Cheese, Honey, Pepperoncino Calabrese This reminded me of the spicy pepperoni pizzas I've had in the past, but possibly better. Aside from how it felt a little "wet" from the honey and peppers, they also added a nice sweet and spicy element to the sausage. -- SPAGHETTI CARBONARA - Pancetta, Eggs, Cheese, Black Pepper Ehh...this was just okay. While I certainly liked how they didn't skimp on the pancetta, all of the rendered fat made this feel incredibly heavy, even for a carbonara. What's more, I wish the egg had been poached instead of fried/sunny-side-up. -- ZUPPA - Homemade Soup of the Day (Lentil Soup) Our mistake for skimming the description and assuming this was the same "zuppa" as Olive Garden's soup (which is so good). While the portion size was great, the taste of this was just okay - lentil soup is just okay to me and this one was also really salty. Much like the food, the service here isn't amazing, but they more than get the job done. Each time I've been here the workers have been friendly and welcoming and are relatively efficient. There have been times where they seem to linger around the kitchen/bar area when the restaurant is quiet, but they still do a decent job of keeping an eye on customers. All in all, while Trattoria da Vittorio certainly isn't one of the best Italian joints in SF, it's still one of the better ones on this side of SF and one of the most convenient. Between the relatively short waits for a table, if any at all, and how there is always nearby street parking available, this place is always a solid choice for meet-ups with friends, family dinners, date nights, or just a quick solo meal out!

We started off with the beet salad and warm focaccia with olive oil, garlic, and balsamic vinegar. The combination of hot bread with sweet, cool beets was a perfect contrast. The beets were perfectly cooked and came with crunchy, candied pecans over a light bed of whipped ricotta. I could not get enough, especially of the candied pecans. The focaccia was perfectly cooked and super light and fluffy. You can tell that the olive oil and balsamic vinegar are of the highest quality and the dip paired so well with the bread. For our mains, my husband got the rigatoni while I got the gnocchi carbonara (at the waiter's suggestion). Both of us were extremely happy with our choices. I'm used to getting gnocchi dishes that are super dense and doughy but in this dish, it was melting in your mouth. The infusion of the duck flavors really came through in the sauce and you had crispy meat sprinkled on top as well to give a contrasting texture to the rest of the dish. The rigatoni came with a couple of meatballs and sausages that you can tell are freshly made in house as they were tender and flavorful. The marinara sauce had a hint of sweetness with the tartness of the tomato sauce to balance it out. The pasta might have been a hair undercooked but it didn't make the dish any less delicious. For dessert, we ended with a chocolate tiramisu - a bed of moist, chocolate cake with a layer of coffee cream and cream on top, it was a delicious twist on the classic dish. We both agreed that we can't wait for our next visit back to Ofena!

I started with the pesto gnocchi, which is usually one of my favorite pasta dishes. However, this version lacked flavor and tasted quite bland. I found myself adding extra cheese and salt just to bring out more taste. Even after that, we only ended up eating about 25% of the dish. For me, this one was a 3/10. We also ordered the Mezzemaniche Boscaiola in pink sauce, which was definitely the stronger of the two dishes. The sauce itself was flavorful, and I appreciated the variety of ingredients, including the onions, peas, sausage, and mushrooms. In fact, I found myself enjoying the vegetables more than the pasta itself. My main issue was that the sausage flavor seemed to overpower the sauce and gave it an off taste. It reminded me of the flavor you get when freshly grilled meat is mixed directly into a sauce--it dominated the dish more than I would have liked. I'd rate this one around a 6/10. That said, there were some positives. The pasta was cooked very well--both the rigatoni and gnocchi had great texture and weren't overcooked or too firm. The food was also still hot when we got it, and the sauces held up impressively during transport. Nothing separated or became oily, which is something that can easily happen with takeout pasta. While I can appreciate the quality of the preparation and packaging, the flavors just weren't a match for my taste. Unfortunately, I don't see myself returning, but I wish the restaurant continued success

They normally only open for dinner on Saturdays, but they opened specially for our event, which already says a lot about their generosity and flexibility. I chose this restaurant because I had dined here for lunch a few times before, and every experience had been wonderful. The food is consistently delicious, even something as simple as the bread and olive oil stands out. The pricing is very reasonable for the quality. The interior is beautiful, with high ceilings that make the space feel open, elegant, and perfect for a large gathering. The service has always been good, but for an event of this size, I honestly didn't expect the food and service to maintain such a high standard. I was completely wrong in the best way possible. We were given SIX entrée options for our guests to choose from, which is impressive for a large party. Every dish came out hot, well-prepared, and absolutely delicious. They also offered us a very generous price, knowing that we are teachers celebrating our principal's retirement. That level of kindness did not go unnoticed. We brought our own cakes to save on costs and had asked in advance if the cake-cutting fee could be waived if we handled it ourselves. To our surprise, on the day of the event, the servers stepped in and kindly offered to cut and serve the cakes for us anyway. That gesture meant so much and really elevated the entire experience. The owner was incredibly easy to work with and very accommodating throughout the entire planning process. He had quite a few staff members working our event, and every single one of them was friendly, attentive, and helpful. They even offered my principal a complimentary glass of wine, which was such a thoughtful touch and made the celebration feel even more special. It's rare to find a place that delivers exceptional food, a beautiful venue, and such heartfelt service all at once, especially for a group of this size. Great people, great food, great venue, and outstanding service! I am incredibly grateful to the entire team for helping us create such a memorable celebration. Highly, highly recommend for both small meals and large special events.

Great area next to restaurants, bakery and boba tea places in the Westlake center. The restaurant has a full bar and outdoor patio seating. Our server was really nice and attentive. We ordered a specialty pizza, small brass monkey on a deep dish. First of all, the presentation of this pizza looks beautiful, lol. So I was really happy that it tasted freaking amazing! The Italian sausage, spinach, mushroom, onion and garlic with the ricotta, feta and mozzarella (yes lots of cheese!) was delicious! You can taste all the different ingredients on every bite! I love mushroom and garlic as it brought out an umami/savory flavor to the dish. The corn meal crust melts in your mouth and was not heavy at all. For each slice, felt like you just ate 2 slice because of how much stuffing they put into this pizza. It was soooo filling!!! Small is perfect for 3 people. Since there's only 2 of us, we ended up bringing the leftovers home. I recommend this place for pizza lovers or anyone who just enjoy great food! Will be back!
