This was a Yelp project to which accurate moves by Mike responded quickly. He asked some great…read moreclarifying questions and immediately provided a quote which was far more reasonable than any of the other submissions we had in Yelp projects. Mike, and his colleague Scott, showed up in a nice large truck and loaded up quickly within an hour. They were efficient and took great care to make sure that none of our items were damaged. The move was from Rocky River to Vermilion and within 3 1/2 hours, everything was deposited in the new location with care and attention. I was really pleased with all of the communication I had with Mike in person and electronic. They were repeatedly willing to move things around in the new location to suit our needs and that was really nice to see. It was a full service move and I cannot recommend accurate moves by Mike enough!

Their kindness cannot be overstated. As an example, they found my beach chair in my things and sweetly surprised me when I turned to see they had set it out for me to use while they moved things into the unit. That's the thoughtful extra mile we all want from people we hire. The owner, Mike, was really great to work with. His price was hundreds of $$ below 2 other movers. He also had a set price and stuck to it! I moved every 12 to 18mos. These company is by far the best I ever worked with! Hire them-you won't be disappointed.

They took care with her things as they packed and unpacked. We would use them for every move. Pricing was very fair and competitive to other companies, the final charge was actually less than the quote. Great communication. We knew when they were on their way and when they arrived. Very grateful we found Moving Ahead Services!!!

I would give them zero stars if I could…read more They moved us and it was a disaster from the start. Then they damaged our furniture and admitted fault. Please note we paid for additional insurance to cover up to $15,000 worth of damage. I spent weeks trying to get in touch with someone. Jovelyn who was barely responsive. The company would screen my calls. Then finally the GM, Scott, took over my case. The company admitted fault and took responsibility, then the company agreed to replace our furniture that was damaged/broken (I have proof) and then Mike (whom till this day refuses to return my calls) decided I had to file a claim through this CSI company that investigates claims. After waiting almost 2 weeks for Jovelyn to get me the information I needed to file, I complete one. Then I contacted Moving Ahead Services MULTIPLE times because no one from this CSI claims ever reached out to me or answered my emails/calls after I filed. It's now August 22nd, I moved June 13, and I'm still sleeping on a bed on the floor because my bed frame was snapped in half. I waited to write a review because I wanted to give them the opportunity to rectify the situation. God speed if you choose this company.

I had a very sub par experience with my moving crew, however, I think the most upsetting part of…read morethis experience is the lack of customer service after the move by the manager, Katie. First of all, let me begin by saying, ALEISHA in the office is the only person that has done any sort of follow up. I feel like she is put in the middle of a tough situation, so I want to make it clear that she has been great. Give her a raise. I have moved multiple times with my job and this was the first time I had to contract movers on my own. I was pleased with the quote from Aleisha which was 3 men for 2.75 to 4.75 hours at $249/hour. The weeks leading up to the move, I decided to take it upon myself to move 90% of my things. I emptied all drawers, packed all closets up. And the only remaining items from my rental townhome was my bedroom suit, (dresser, two night stands, queen size tempur bed) a guest bedroom (queen standard bed on a basic bed frame, two empty nightstands from hobby lobby) my couch, and a small 3x3 pub table and four chairs. Literally only the furniture. Because I did all of the pre work, I expected this move to go no more than 4 hours, because the only "big" things were the items in the main bedroom. Well the day of the move came. And I had only two men show up, and it was apparent they were "dragging" to say the least. I have never seen in my 5 moves across the country movers with so little pep in their step. Would you believe it took the guy downstairs 2 hours to bubble wrap the small pub table and chairs? They also took 2 smoke breaks. Once we finally got to my new house they ended up knocking into my new walls and causing three gouges, and multiple scuff marks. When they packed up my old space they insisted on taking apart the pub table.. when I showed them where it went in the new house,, they "couldn't get it back together" so they left it in pieces. My 78 year old father screwed it together just fine the same day. Unreal. almost 7 hours they wrapped up and left. 7 hours! I should have just done it myself. So, I ended up for the first time calling the office to bring up my experience. The call went very well. Katie (the manager) asked if they could repair the walls, and also offered a refund for some the total because I was unsatisfied. I appreciated that and agreed. Emailed them pictures of the walls and she told me the refund would post to my account within 10 days. Almost two months later and that refund has never happened. My builder ended up fixing the walls for me, to which I emailed Katie and Aleisha inquiring about the refund and letting them know my walls were an issue they don't need to worry about that. No response. I then realized I didn't email the right email address, so I forwarded the email to the right emails, and Aleisha did respond and said she was forwarding to Katie and putting this in my file. Again, at least she has the decency to respond. It has been almost 2 months and I have never received the money I was promised and not even a phone call or email back from her. What I find amazing about this is when Katie and I spoke, she did say to make sure I left an honest review and to mention how they took care of me after my sub par experience. She wanted me to do it right away but something told me to wait for when the refund posted to my account. Well, here you go Two Men and. Truck. two months later, this is your review.

Let me share our nightmare with you. This is the Brunswick location…read more Moving day came and the movers showed up 3 hours late. At first the dispatcher called and let us know. So we thought, ok life happens, no big deal. The driver finally called and said they are on there way. The driver sounded a bit off on the phone. He actually sounded as though he was under the influence but we had no idea how right we were. When the movers finally showed up, the first two guys come into the the condo and literally stunk up the entire place. They smelled of weed and could barely comprehend what needed to be done. My daughter and I felt uncomfortable and a little scared of the men that showed up. I asked the movers to get out of the condo and I locked the door behind them. We called dispatch right away and advised them of the situation. We demanded a new crew. Their response shocked us to the core. The dispatcher said they are booked for the rest of the day and that the manager will come out to supervise the move. We asked how are you okay with them staying on the clock in the condition they were in. These guys could barely walk straight, we couldn't let them anywhere near our furniture. The worst part of this whole thing is that we never received an apology. This is all absolutely unacceptable. We are sick to our stomach knowing that these guys are on the road putting other drivers in jeopardy. The manager was totally ok with them finishing out the job and being on the road in this condition. Wow!! Just wow!!! Thank God we found another local moving company that was efficient and reliable. They also charged a fraction of the price. I would never recommend this company to anyone. We finally got our deposit back after 2 weeks and a few phone calls.

I would NOT recommend this moving company…read more The move started out well. They arrived on time and initially seemed professional. Unfortunately, things went downhill quickly. First, the movers started putting items on the truck that I had clearly set aside to throw away, including a dryer. After loading things that weren't supposed to be moved, they then told me they were running out of room on the truck. Once we arrived at the new place, the pace became extremely slow. There were four movers, but at times it seemed like only one person was actually going back and forth upstairs and putting furniture back together. I was told they were using a "chain line," but whatever system they were using was not efficient. The move ended up taking two hours longer than expected, which added approximately $500 to my bill. Even worse, they broke my daughter's TV, which she had only owned for about four months. When I tried to file a claim, I repeatedly called and was told that a manager would contact me. I kept speaking with the same person, John, who would act surprised each time that no manager had called me back. Eventually, they stopped answering my calls altogether. As we've continued unpacking, we've discovered another serious issue. The TV stand had been taped closed with belongings inside of it, but when it arrived at the new place, those items were missing and the TV stand was empty. My biggest problem isn't just that things went wrong during the move--it's the company's lack of accountability afterward. Items were damaged, other belongings appear to be missing, my bill increased by hundreds of dollars because of the additional time, and my attempts to resolve the issues have been ignored. Based on my experience, I would not use this company again and cannot recommend them. If something gets damaged or goes missing, don't expect them to make the claims process easy or to take responsibility.
