    Tasting menu and notes

This place is a hidden gem for wine lovers. They serve wine by the glass they have tastings each day with a focus on brands or AVA's, grape type and it's a full store for bottles to go. They have a little bit of food stuff to purchase cheese and crackers and some meat and chocolate. Good news is you can bring in your own food you can sit inside or outside on the patio which has some umbrellas And the owner Jim is a sommelier so he can give you some recommendations.

6 tastings for $6!!! Hidden gem. You walk into this very non-chalant establishment that sits across from the Regal Theaters. Very small tasting bar. There is less than a dozen seats and a nice little outdoor patio. It was explained to us that the tastings are not limited, and you are able to taste whatever is on the menu (which is a full 3 pages!). HOLLAAAA!!! We went to town!!! My friend stuck with reds and I stuck with whites. There is a TV at the bar and we were fortunate enough to watch and cheer on the Chargers game. We also ordered a platter of cheese and crackers with our tastings for $8. There was another couple at the bar that ended up purchasing a $160 bottle of wine and offered to share a couple glasses with us. WOW!!! The guy even offered his tastings as well. They have an enclosed patio outside (where the bathroom is located) where there are tables/chairs and a grill. The owner mentioned that they welcome food and deliveries from restaurants, which I thought was awesome. You can even bring food to grill up whenever the grill is available. We walked away buying several bottles of wine. They also sell wine (great selection!) in their store section, which is pretty comparable to Bevmo and other local stores prices. Apparently, they have special events that occur on a weekly basis and you can be notified of them when you sign up on their mailing list. What a nice place!

Ok... I've visited this place before, a handful of times under different owners. I have to say that from my last visit the customer service is now excellent. I haven't had the chance to do any wine tasting here, but I look forward to doing so. I would definitely return . It had been 2 years since I had been back to this location due to poor customer service. But at the request of my husband looking to get a gift, I returned to this place (whining, get it) and was pleased with the turn around. Now I can't wait to come back.

This little (but mighty) wine stop and tasting bar should not be overlooked!! The variety of wine is unbeatable- hundreds of wines beautifully displayed and organized for you to browse. If you need assistance, the staff is so knowledgeable and can give you the best recommendations without making you feel overwhelmed with technical terminology. Even better, they have a wine bar where you can enjoy wine by the glass either inside or outside on their beautiful patio! The outside has plenty of tables that have ample shade and even a fire pit. The prices at the wine bar are very reasonable for the quality that you are getting. This is a small and quaint gem in San Marcos!

Introduced to Chill House, which became my steady. The Michel Olivier goes with everything summer.

I ended up about three blocks away in a residential area on a busy Saturday night. The cozy atmosphere is warm and comfortable. The staff does a good job weaving among the six tables in the dining room and six on the patio. Conversations are tougher inside. This is a natural wine bar, so some classiciists might not like the styles. Little Victory has a jammed, two-sided wine list (red and white) in incredibly small type. Natural wines often look and taste distinct from conventional bottles. They are frequently unfiltered and unfined, leaving them slightly cloudy with sediment. Expect vibrant acidity and complex flavor profiles that lean toward the earthy, savory. Bottle variation is common. Off-flavors and aromes include mousiness, excess volatile acidity (vinegar notes), or Brettanomyces (wet cardboard). Our waitress was patient and let us taste five whites, which were too funky for most of us (not fruit-driven noses and palates like most California wines). I settled on the Austrian 2024 Wurzinger Grüner Veltliner Früg, $17 BTG. It was cloudy, with some lime, floral, and yeasty nose; tight acids; and a tart finish. We did enjoy a fruity, balanced 2021 Viticultor Goyo Garcia Viadero Joven de Viejas Viñas, Ribera del Duero ($72 bottle; $25 at retail); and a good Temecula red blend, 2023 Lost Ranch Winery Moonshadow (53% Nero d'Avola; 47% Syrah; $17 by the glass). For appetizers, the four of us shared the olives ($8), bread and butter plate ($9), cheese platter ($18), and beef tartare ($25). Other things we shared were the local catch, $33; roasted octopus, $31; and the peach and fennel salad, $22. The octopus drew the most raves. The catch was a bit dry. Service was friendly, very helpful and responsive to our questions about the wines and the different dishes on the menu. The food runners were timely in bringing out our different dishes. Little Victory should do well in this bustling foodie town.

We were torn over what wine to get but they let us sample a couple! Super great service. Mussels were definitely the stand out dish, but everything was fresh! 3 plates was good for 2 people. We also got their cheesecake and it was SOOOO GOOD! Not too sweet, perfectly baked. It is a pricey restaurant but worth a special occasion.

They have a lovely wine bar staffed with welcoming baristas and a lovely outdoor patio, and are situated in a little suburban neighborhood just off the 56 at Camino del Sur. She told me that the baked goods were from O'Brien's, that they have live music most weekends, and sometimes host food vendors to offer patrons their wares. There are two parking lots that we saw, one closer to the bottom which was gravel but would require a walk up two flights of stairs, or there's a lot closer to the tasting room (paved) but is more limited. We were able to snag a spot up at the top luckily. They have a two sample limit & then you can buy drinks by the bottle or glass. The day we went they were having a 25% off bottle sale. There was only one employee we saw during the entirety of our visit but he was super friendly. We ordered a bottle, the charcuterie platter and a pizza. The charcuterie board is refrigerated and they provide a bag of crackers as well. We went with the veggie pizza & it took maybe 20 minutes to come out and was absolutely delicious. The grounds themselves are absolutely gorgeous. There are 3 covered areas to sit at up top with plenty of seating. Down the first flight of stairs has a fish pond and some beautiful areas to walk around. I'm not sure if that area was where they do weddings as there was also a spot across the way with a dais, but we didn't make it over there. The wine was delicious! We tried two of the whites and the sweet rosé. I'm not normally a rosé fan, but it was my favorite wine I had there. Overall we had a really relaxing time with beautiful views. I highly recommend checking out Sunshine Mountain Vineyard.

Such a beautiful view that even teenage boys will stop and appreciate it!…read more I found a great deal on Groupon that included four glasses of wine and a charcuterie board, enough for four people. It was the perfect way to sample their wines while enjoying the scenery. We also ordered two pizzas: the Sunshine Cheese Delight and the Sunshine Meat Lover. Both were good and hit the spot. We added a large bag of Stellar Pretzel to share, and for dessert (because I absolutely have a sweet tooth), we tried the Sunshine Double Chocolate Cake and Tiramisu. I prefer sweeter wines and ordered the Rosa and Riesling , both were great and exactly what I was hoping for. A couple things to note: I had read in other reviews that there were servers, but when we visited, we ordered inside, were given a buzzer, and picked up our food ourselves. It was also pretty cold outside, and it took some time for the staff to turn on the warmers. We came on a Sunday and learned that live music starts at 3 PM. My husband and I definitely plan to come back for a date when there's live music playing. We were able to park near the top by the tasting room, which was convenient. There's also seating below near a beautiful waterfall and koi pond , it's a bit of a walk down (and back up). Overall, such a scenic spot with good food, sweet wine options, and a relaxing atmosphere. We'll be back!
