We made a follow up visit to this little winery which is a little off the beaten path but offers nice wines and the most beautiful views of the surrounding hills and valleys. Owners, Kim & George, are very friendly and offer up a huge selection of white and red wines. Parking can be a challenge. If there are no spaces open at the top of the hill, you'll have to park along the side of a steep driveway. The one plus is that they do have a golf cart that will run people up and down the hill, but I don't know if that's always available. The tasting room is average size, but there is a spiral staircase that leads to a large upstairs patio (uncovered) with incredible views. You can certainly enjoy a glass or bottle up there and take in the amazing views...all the way to the ocean! WINES: The Beach House property is 4 acres total, with 2 acres planted with grapes. On our last visit, the tasting menu listed 14 wines (whites, rosé, and reds), and we even tried a couple that weren't on the menu. The wines are well made, and some that we've purchased in the past have laid down well in our cellar. I always state, individuals' palates can be very different than mine, but I'm pretty sure there will be a wine you'll enjoy. I recommend you visit and check them out for yourselves. The winery is also the owners' residence, which adds a charming, personal feel to the experience. Don't worry about limited parking at the top, one of the owners (the very kind husband!) will happily and safely drive you up and down the hill in a golf cart. The vibes are very cute at this place and its a great soot to grab a bite/glass of wine with friends or on a date night. I knocked it down a star because given the wine is all very unique and small production I felt like the server should have provided some more information on the tasting notes/story of the wine before pouring to add to the experience. All of the wine is natural as well so what I tried had that kombucha-y flavor. It was good but different so if you're strictly a pinot grigio girly you might not find that here but def worth a visit if youre open to trying something new! For food we had the risotto - needed a little salt or parmesan but the flavors were amazing! read more

A gem right outside of Oceanside, about 20 minutes northeast. It feels like I'm visiting a friend, as this winery is run by a husband and wife team (and son who helps to valet) who has a winery on their home property. Their rooftop patio was perfect and breezy on a summer day. Great spot to enjoy some wine with a view. They have wine pairing events with chocolate and/or cigar. The chocolate was delicious and the pairing worked well. The cigar pairing was interesting, but ultimately doesn't work well. We saw others who packed a picnic with them, so I guess outside food is welcomed. They don't serve food, but have a few bar snacks for purchase. They also sell water bottles or have complimentary small cups of filtered water, but you should plan to bring your own reusable water bottle and stay hydrated between all the delicious wine you'll be drinking! read more

If you've never been to the Beach House, what are you waiting for? This is one of the amazing surprises in East Oceanside that you didn't realize is there. A great tasting room where the wine and conversations flow in an intimate environment. Then take the spiral stairway all the way up to the rooftop and take in the most incredible view of the entire area of that part of Oceanside! Best I can say is "Go there... I imagine it's more fun if you're a familiar friend of the winery or part of a large group. For us first-timers, it wasn't the most welcoming atmosphere. The inside bar was full, and I can't say that the wine-tender was the most friendly. We ordered two flights, and each sample was an exact 1oz pour for each, not a drop more and not especially generous. Would have been easier to accept but most of the samples were oxidized/faded in flavor, as if the bottles were not fresh. If I were to return, I would just order a bottle. *Maybe* she'd give a sample splash to help with the choice, but maybe not, it's hard to say as the vibe was pretty stingy, despite the place being plenty busy on a sunny Saturday. The views are truly beautiful, especially if you can get a spot in the rooftop area. Some of the wine had potential (we enjoyed the reds more as we got into the bigger-bodied ones), and I think if it had been fresh we probably would have liked it. read more

My friends and I had an excellent time here while celebrating our friends 30th birthday party. The staff was very friendly and hospitable. The wines were good. Cons: says dog friendly but not, honestly don't bring your dog Seating: very limited overall; people showed up at 11, venue opens at noon to secure upstairs best view seats. Minimal shade downstairs and not enough seating. Lines are long to get tastings in the main wine room Stingy pours, using the 1 oz pour spouts. At least pour twice! Owners were not friendly at all, guess they don't like new people coming to their winery. So wanted to rave about this place but no, sadly. read more

My Fiancé and I had so much fun here! The owner was so sweet and accommodating. Driving there was an adventure in itself...a beautiful drive and a trek up a huge hill later, and we were surprised to end up at someone's house! It took us a few minutes to realize that they called it Beach House because the winery is actually a house haha! We had a wonderful time chatting with the owner and trying the wines. We loved the Merlot and ended up buying a bottle. She encouraged us to get a glass of our favorite wine, and to go up the spiral staircase to the roof where we were told to expect a spectacular view. We were not disappointed. It seemed like you could see all of San Diego! Stunning. I definitely recommend making the trek to this hidden gem. Oh! What a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon! Awesome views in every direction from their spacious rooftop deck (including an ocean view), and the wines really exceeded my expectations. And while I'm no wine expert, I'm a member at Wiens and Chapin in Temecula along with a few in Paso, and Beach House certainly held their own. Fantastic day getaway, only opened on weekends 12-4 and weekdays by appointment. Family owned with over 30 years experience, lovely whites and reds large list of tastes or glass, beautiful location, incredible views and an adorable building. The wines are fantastic 6 tastes for 15.00 or 20.00 and you keep the glass. We spent an hour and a half learned about the wines, location, went to the rooftop and had a glass of wine. Very impressed will be back again, they also have a wineclub. 4 shipments a year. With other perks. If you live in SanDiego or live in north county it is a must that you visit. Kim & George have a nice diamond in the rough here. I am not much of a wine drinker, but I have to say that I enjoy pretty much all of their wines. My wife is the wine drinker and she really likes the wines here. For me, it's more about the wine. It's about the owners Kim & George and how they get to know the people that come in and not only spend time at their winery, but spend money. They truly appreciate people and that they would not have a winery without people coming in and buying their wine. Above the tasting room is a deck with chairs and you can see the mountains on the east and the ocean on the west. It is a great site. I kinda hope no one reads these great reviews so we can keep Beach House Winery to ourselves. read more
