I had a very negative experience at North Edmonton Kia. I went in unsure if I was even going to buy a new car, but I felt pressured to put down a $500 deposit to hold a vehicle that wasn't even on the lot yet. I was told I wouldn't get a better deal anywhere else and assured that I could get my deposit back if I decided not to purchase. The price they quoted me was much higher than MSRP, which didn't sit right with me. I decided to check with another Kia dealership, and I'm glad I did--the price there was significantly lower and saved me $8,000 over the 4-year loan term. When I went back to North Edmonton Kia to ask for my deposit back, they refused to return it. The manager's response was to offer me a longer loan term instead of acknowledging that I couldn't afford the car. That felt manipulative and dishonest. This is bad business and bad service. Order a Kia Sedona back in May from North Edmonton Kia, was told about the long wait for it to come. We were good with that. Back in November Sam the sales manager called us saying it will be here mid to end December, perfect. Going to the second week of Jan we go into the dealership to find out how much longer, got told by Sam there is an increase in the price. Wasn't planning on telling us tell the car was closer to being here which he didn't know when that was. Very unprofessional of Sam. He should have called us with the change of the price so we could make the decision to cancel and look for another vehicle sooner. But after I confront him on that, he just went back to his desk to hide and not apologize for this or anything. Was having a good experience with the dealership but when it came to negotiating a price, my salesman (Len) would start laughing at what I wanted. After not coming to a deal he wouldn't even come say goodbye and thanks for your time. He went and sat at his desk and was all pissed off. Very unprofessional. Say in a year or so when maybe I could afford the car I would gone back to Len but to see someone act like that I wouldn't go back. I would not recommend this company or their vehicles. Kia vehicles have dozens of recalls and the company is doing nothing to address all the problems with their vehicles. The service when I brought in my vehicle was horrible, from using the excuse that their online booking system doesn't connect with their on premises system, to not having a loaner for me even though I booked one, to not offering me a shuttle. Not to mention, quoting me $3000 worth of repairs when I was bringing the vehicle in to address recall issues to get no information on the recall repairs when I picked up the vehicle. I had my vehicle towed to this dealer for a diagnosis and estimate. It turned out to be the starter (which I already suspected). The estimate: almost $1000 (part and installation), plus they tried to upsell me on $2000 worth of work I knew it didn't need. I paid the $200 for the diagnosis ($160, plus GST and "shop supplies"--give me a break, shop supplies for diagnosing a faulty starter). I took it to another well-known auto repair facility. Good business is built on integrity, and character. The trust a company deserves is based on ; How the representatives of a company mange conflict resolution, display respect, and support those from vulnerable demographics . As a nurse I have been privileged to work as part of multidisciplinary team in many settings of care. Integrity is one of the most important aspects of any field. I am writing a review because it is beyond my good conscience to expose any vulnerable individuals to the misgiving of this company. I was horrified to hear that an elderly member of my family with compromised mental health was coerced into a contract. I was further horrified when I heard that the other elderly partner of this individual went before the managment of this team pleading for aide and was treated so horribly. The contract had been signed when he was not present and able to assist his partner. Even if the contract could not be adjusted, the disrespect and unprofessionalism given to this couple left me close to tears. When the contract was asked to be revised , the female sales associate who sold the vehicle from this location, laughed at the misfortune of this couple....in their face! The elderly women returned with another member of her family and the manager refused to see them and they were told "I don't want to see her face again". When they refused to leave the team called the police. I am disgusted and horrified that a business can so callously prey on the vulnerable and than scoff at the pain of others. If individuals can show as little empathy, and character as they have for this couple, I am horrified to think of what else they take advantage of. If you have anyone vulnerable this is not the place to go, morals and integrity are missing in the character of the staff. read more

As others have mentioned here they will LIE and promise far more than they will deliver. If you don't pay attention to the bill of sale you will never get what they promise. The head sales manager is very high pressure and will try and guilt trip you. He very unpleasant to deal with. All in all I regret buying a vehicle from them. read more

I inquired about a 2020 chevrolet colorado over the phone from Calgary. I asked about any damages that I should be aware of. I was told there was minor hail damage on the right side that was repaired through their 'trusted services'. Upon arriving for pickup, I noticed the roof had major hail damage that was not repaired. The sales representative and sales manager both did not seem to find this important to disclose. Without a ride back to Calgary, I was willing to take the vehicle with a general idea of how much repairs would cost. The most I was offered was $200 towards the repairs. I am now stuck with over $1000 in repairs upon further inspection and body shop quote. The service done to this vehicle was not professional, paint dripping inside the door frame and was a definitely a quick-fix. Not impressed. read more

If you, as a customer, have any issue at all this dealership will completely ignore you. This can be seen in the google reviews. They are happy to respond to any glowing reviews, but you can see they don't address any negative issues. I emailed this dealer after purchasing a vehicle to ask why I was charged more than 5% GST. I would have assumed this would be a fair question that deserved a response. Fellow Yelp Elite brethren Don N. helped me out looking for a used vehicle using my criteria. He was quick to respond and provided great service. And while they didn't have anything that I was looking for this time, I appreciated Don's honesty and quick response. I've met Don a number of times through Yelp parties and events. I wish I could say my experience at North Edmonton Kia was a positive experience but it was not. I have an ongoing issue that is yet to be resolved and the conduct of the staff I dealt with left me in disgust with the lack of professionalism. I was promised floor mats with the purchase of my new vehicle by the sales rep I dealt with at the time of my sale but apparently the sales associate (victor) left that detail off the paperwork (which I have now realized was intentional) as he lied to me and stated it would be no problem to get me the floor mats as they are on back order. I took his word and trusted him and now I am told he does not work there and that Kia will not honor his promise to me. I do realize that I do not have it in writing but I do have a email chain with victor where it was mentioned several times. Unfortunately, the staff I have dealt with are not willing to honor something that was promised to me. I do realize on paper I do not have anything to back my arrangement but the rep I spoke with told me that this was not the first and probably not the last time Victor promised someone something and couldn't deliver. This to me lends credibility to my position and why I feel it should be honored as he was a person representing your business and I trusted him in good faith. I also spent more than 40,000 dollars at your business and I am being nickel and dimed for floor mats. I did not get any deal on the vehicle, I paid full price for everything, I also purchased extended warranty and I have been patient even though I have been given the run around. I was told to contact victor and have him call in to confirm he made this arrangement I called Victor he stated he would call in, apparently he did not. So I went to the dealership and they said there is nothing they could do even though I was told if he promised me something it would be honored if he just called in. It is not my fault this person lacks integrity and took advantage of my trust. I am just asking for what I was promised no more no less. To make matters worse when I spoke to the rep at the store (he identified himself as the store manager but I did not catch his name, big guy with slick backed black hair) he was just a broken record and was not listening to what I had to say and just kept repeating the same thing over and over and it was getting irritating so I told him that since its obvious he could not help me I would want to speak to someone who could and I would just end the conversation there as I was getting agitated and did not want to get worked up, so I excused myself asked for the manger or owners information he told me to contact Bob, I was told Bob does not have contact info that is given directly to customers so I was directed to speak to Mark. Mark was more helpful and stated he could see what he could do but I may have to wait a month or so, but still hasn't been able to remedy my issue. As I was waiting for my service on my vehicle to be completed I encountered the rep that I ended the conversation with as he could clearly not help me, to my shock and amazement he puffed his chest out to me and almost walked right into me and was staring me down as if he wanted to fight me. I also overheard him calling me an asshole to Mark and pointing at me. I was so shocked by his lack of professionalism. I am, after all a paying customer who plans to continue to do business at your business for the maintenance of my vehicle but after my experience with this person I am not sure I will be returning. I am disgusted at the lack of ethics by Victor and the lack of willingness to make things right, there are somethings that are more important than the bottom dollar or what's on paper, its about doing right by your customers and building a brand you can stand by. If you are able to help me regarding this issue I would gladly be willing to have further conversation. If you are unable to help me address this issue I will be looking to contact Kia corporate and see how they feel about their brand being represented in such a way. read more

Derrick is a super laid back, friendly & pressure-free sales representative. He worked with us for a very long visit, including test drive. We felt very comfortable with him and felt he was fair & honest with us at all times. The finance "guy" Darius (spelling?) was above & beyond transparent & honest as he showed us figures from his computer showing real, actual costs. I picked out a car on the website. Carlo provided all the info regarding the purchase. We decided we wanted to pick up the car by Monday. First and foremost, I need to thank Evan in the Parts and Service department. He's amazing and kind and went above and beyond for me. So. I bought my KIA used from a different dealership, and only received one key when I did, and until recently that was not a problem. A few days ago however I lost my one and only key on a Sunday while walking around the city. The next day I towed my car to North Edmonton Kia so they could cut me a new key. I was quoted $390+ for a new key. Shocking how expensive these keys are, but I was resigned to pay it. I need my car. However, about two hours after I dropped my car off I was told that unfortunately when my car was manufactured, the code that would be needed to cut me a new transponder key was not attached to my car's VIN! As such, there was no possible way for the dealership to cut me a key that would work with my car. I was then quoted $900+ to replace the ignition and all of the locks on my car so I could get working keys. Needless to say, I was floored. I am a student and unable to spend $900 in one go! I called Kia Canada, they were shocked that the code was missing, as were the staff at the dealership. It was a bizarre and VERY stressful few days. The day after I dropped my car off, Evan from Parts and Service called me and said they NEEDED to replace all of my locks and the ignition in order for me to be able to drive my car. But, he said he would only charge me $200 for the whole thing! Amazing! It would be ready in a few days. The day after Evan gave ma call that my car was ready for pickup. When I arrived Evan informed me that I didn't need to pay a single thing, and that Kia Canada had accepted his claim that it was a factory mistake (which it was!). He didn't have to do that work for me, but he did. I walked away with two new keys and a smile on my face. THANK YOU EVAN. And thank you to anyone else who was involved in helping me so much! This dealership has harassed me over the course of 4 years with constant phone calls about promos and trade in's. I've explained over and over that I am not interested, I no longer own my KIA and I need to be taken off their call list. This dealership has absolutely horrible systems/values and no one has kept their word to me each and every time I call in to get my name taken off the call list. I am now recording names and dates of all phone calls in the hopes that this will one day end. I was called today by a Brandon, who told me he received a call list from someone named Adam McGregor. The manager was apparently in a meeting with the president so he was unable to speak, and I got no guarantee that he would be able to call me back. I called in once again and was transferred to their controller Vicky, who I left a voicemail with. Will be calling in until I reach someone who can explain to me why this continues to happen. read more

Worst experience ever. purchased used vehicle and winter tires a few weeks ago. AMVIC rated everything good and mechanical fitness report by Garrett Hoffmeier also rated all good. Took vehicle back as issue with light, heater knob and strange clunking noise. Kia refused to fix anything unless I paid for it. They accused me of breaking the heater knob. stated light was burnt out-which was not the case and advised me that car was missing wheel liners. Quote to fix almost 2000.00: Told Len Hughes my salesman I was not impressed and I thought they were crooks for not fixing and missing parts that were not disclosed to me. Len Hughes told me to F$ck off and hung up on me. Ordered winter tires and rims at time of purchase. Picked these up a few days ago, could not even take try them because the locking wheels nuts where not in the vehicle. I had to go purchase some before I could put them on which turns out the rims Kia ordered are wrong. Matt from Kia insists the rims are correct and ok for them to just sit on the axle. I guess I should have insisted Kia install the tires cause I had even paid for it but when I went there Jeff told me to take my tires and go.. Wow I have purchased many new and used vehicles throughout my sixty years and this has been the most disgusting experience ever. read more

I have received relentless phone calls and text messages over a five year period from the sales office despite speaking with multiple managers and demanding that they don't contact me. ~6 ms ago I was contacted and had the same discussion and was told they were under new management and would absolutely not contact me again. Then 3 months ago same story. Just got off the phone with yet another manager being told this would be the absolute last time. I like my car but I will never buy kia again after this experience. So I booked an appt for last week and proceeded to get an email asking if I wanted 7, 7:15 or 7:30 appt. I booked the 7:15 appt only to show up and am told they don't open till 7:30. UM WHAT? Then I get called twice from the service dept and told my car is ready and do I need a pickup. Yup, told you twice 3:20 downtown. I proceed to stand outside till 3:40 then call - he's downtown lost, should be there in 5. At 4:00 I call and tell them I don't want the shuttle and then my phone rings and the shuttle is here. Fine, I'm mad but I'll go. The shuttle driver proceeds to tell me that he left the dealership at 3:40 when I called because no one put it on the board. So they lied to me about him being lost. GREAT SERVICE! Oh and when I picked my car up instead of being apologetic, the girl behind the counter barely spoke a word to me other then sign, pay, etc. granted I wasn't overly friendly at this point as my plans were now unattainable. read more

Then this is what happened with them: i put my car on kijiji for sale, i get a call from those dicks saying they wanna see if they can give me a good trade. After like a million phone calls, i go there and meet with their "assistant salesman". At first all was going well. I told them what i was looking for and they tell me: lets see what we've got in our lot. 10 minutes later their sales person comes with keys for Toyota Rav 4. At first he tells me its a 2009 model and the mileage is 150k KM. I said ok, we get in the car and i do my test drive, and i really like the car. We go back to the showroom and sit down to talk about the price. At first they tell me the price is $13500 . Then i get a little suspicious, i find the same car on kijiji, but its a 2007 model NOT a 2009 and the mileage is actually 163k KM not 150k KM, and the biggest shock is, on kijiji the price those dicks posted is actually $12500 and they were telling at the showroom that its $13500. IT WAS UNBELIEVABLE. So if you can AVOID at all costs. Don't even go in their if you were shot to ask for help, they might rip you off. read more
