Don't do it. I should have listened to my gut and read reviews. I was told to sign finance paperwork with a lender outside the dealership and then rushed through paperwork without reading it. My fault I guess because I felt I could not push to slow down. I didn't test drive the car and when I went to go home the warning light was on. I asked about it and was told "they all have tire warning lights, it's a sensor" If it's just the sensor they should have fixed it. My initial impression was good because they were very nice and not at all pushy, but that definitely changed. They weren't able to provide the carfax reports for any of the cars they showed me, but said they'd knock off the cost of the report for the car I preferred. I went home and bought the report myself- and on the auto mall website the car was listed as having 166k miles, but the carfax report said it had 266k! The sales lady also said they don't sell former rental cars but this one was also a rental according to the report. So dishonest! read more

Purchased a vehicle from these SCAM artists just a few weeks ago. The vehicle was supposed to have functioning ac, which it did not. The sunroof is inoperable and unfortunately that's just the tip of the iceberg for this disaster that we have landed ourselves in. The car has new inspection stickers in the windshield but does NOT legally pass a state inspection due to four leaking shocks, a bad steering rack and a seized brake caliper. Upon contacting NHA they refused to do anything to fix the situation and hung up the phone. They drug their feet filing the paperwork with the warranty company and when we called the warranty company they had no records of us. I really wish I could say that was the end of the line for issues, but it's not! The engine has a faint rattle on start up, likely a bearing failure which is detrimental to any engine. This car has also stalled out on us multiple times. On the initial meet they were very friendly but please lord do not let them fool you with their words. Upon the test drive they refused to let us take the car to highway speeds thusly hiding all of these issues. I would absolutely hate to see anyone else fall victim to these clowns. Please do yourself a favor and STAY FAR AWAY. This vehicle should have never been sold and should have been sent to auction, instead they masked the issues just long enough to get thru their short low speed test drive and sent us on our way with a nightmare. You would be better off purchasing a huffy or a new pair of Nikes for your commute because they will be far more reliable than anything sold from this stealership. read more

Looked at their inventory online LAST NIGHT and made a list of cars I would be interested in so I was prepared when I got there. I had a list of 19 cars that I was interested in looking at and not one of them was there. They all "sold." 19 cars have sold since last night? The cars that they did have were all in poor condition with higher miles and higher prices than the cars that were advertised on their website. I understand not being able to constantly update your website and maybe having a few cars on there that have recently sold, but in this case Im thinking that the cars I was interested in were never actually there. read more

I visited North Hills Auto Mall with my son, looking for his first car. I was extremely disappointed. I do not know where they took their on-line car photos, but it was NOT at their own site. Go onto google maps and have a look at the satellite image for yourself. The one-lane gravel path in/out was blocked by one of their cars, hood-up, being worked on by two or three of the employees. They were throwing sparks with a hand-grinder on something under the hood. The "office" is a trailer, and the "garage" is an open-air, car-port-thing, with rusty tools and parts lying around. This did not give me the feeling that these cars were all in great mechanical condition. The "auto mall" itself is just a gravel parking lot. Cars are stacked in at least four-deep, nose-to-tail. If you want to test-drive a car (we drove two), be prepared to wait several minutes while they find another car-jockey and start moving cars around to get your pick out. It's so congested, they have to drive it off the lot and around the corner, before switching so you can drive. The cars we saw were in medium condition, many with small dents, broken trim, and badly faded bumpers. One Honda CRV we drove had a broken-off inside door handle on the driver's door, wrapped in duct-tape so the remaining stub would not cut the driver's hand. The second test drive started with the employee stating "I need to fill this with gas for you..." so my son and I had to endure a multi-mile drive to a far away gas station, while the employee surfed on his smart-phone in one hand, while wandering left-of-center with the other. Why did he need to use such a far away gas station? Because he was also PICKING UP HIS DAUGHTER! So our test-drive included an additional teen-aged guest. How professional. With behavior like this, a setting like this, and business practices like I saw, I cannot warn you strongly enough to stay away from North Hills Auto Mall. I hate to post such a negative report, but I feel obligated. I shopped there in good faith and gave it a chance. We were real buyers, and did buy a car elsewhere a week later. read more

Did what ever it took to get me to sign for no warranty so I would be responsible for all repairs. Unreal. Stay away. The overwhelmingly nauseating perfume "air freshener" in the office is your first clue that something stinks. Went with a friend to buy the Silver 2005 Subaru Outback with 85,000 miles listed on their website. I had researched that one and it checked out, so I called the night before to see if it was still there. Brought pre-printed secure corporate checks in varying denominations with me because I would never carry $7,000 in cash to a remote location. On arrival, asking about the car, he replied, "Well, I can show you what we have." This, of course, meant the only car in a similar price range had almost 135,000 miles ("a buck thirty" as he called it). The warranty did not cover the water pump, exhaust system, or other things that are typical replacements for Outbacks of that mileage. Still, considering it, I offered to take it for $800 less to cover part of the likely repairs and presented a corporate check. He said they only take cash, "Because people just print them things off all the time." I pointed out that corporate checks have security features he could easily confirm by trying to make a photo copy himself, and it would read "VOID." It also contained a watermark, and he could call the bank to verify it. He refused, pointing to a copy of a scam check he supposedly fell for that clearly did not have that feature, because any copy would be covered with the word VOID. Really? He's not that stupid or he wouldn't be running a business. To me, this bespeaks reasons that have nothing to do with fake checks, or even tax evasion, but, more likely proof of purchase and warrantee issues not in the buyer's favor. The final note was that I had my friend guard the car while I was in the office, because twice after previous visits to used car lots, when I drove away, suddenly crazy things went wrong on my car. I may be a girl, but I carry my own tools, and I won't be forced into buying a car from sham artists. (Have you noticed that, at used car lots, you must park far away, out of sight and earshot of your vehicle, or are told that the car you want is on another lot and they offer to take you over? Never get in a car with salesmen unless you are test-driving, and always bring a friend or two if you can - one to go on the test drive with you and one to stay with your car.) Sure enough, after I left, a scrungy, unshaven guy approached my vehicle, but veered away after he saw it was occupied. He didn't get into any of the parked vehicles, and just walked back towards some garage behind the lot. Can't say for certain what he was up to, but if that garage was where he was going, he had to go way out of his way to pass my car to get there. Purchased a used vehicle from their lot, which they said their mechanic had checked. Test drove it, and it seemed fine (I am not a mechanic). Carfax looked fine - low mileage, one owner. Stupidly signed the "AS IS" paper. My bank told me that what they were asking was more than it was worth. As soon as the deal was done, it started making funny noises and shaking. Turns out the brakes were shot, and the axle was almost completely rusted through. The air conditioner condenser quit. We've put an additional $4300 into the car that was already overpriced. Very unhappy. Either their mechanic didn't really check it out or they knew about the problems and didn't disclose. The pictures online make it look like they've got some grand car lot, but it is just a junkyard on a dangerous corner with no customer parking. They drive the vehicles up to the nearby shopping plaza to take the pictures of them. read more

Horrendous!! If I could give it a zero star rating I would. Jay, the owner, couldn't even give us 5 minutes of his time. The woman, Ashley, who works there, is extremely condescending and rude. Called several times to make sure we could see a specific vehicle. Not only was the vehicle filthy with crumbs and dirt, but it had several broken pieces including a seat! Worse off, they had the vehicle parked 3 deep behind others and they wouldn't even allow us to test drive it without cash down! just now-Edit My husband and i got a 2002 nissan maxima from here a few months ago and let me tell you terrible and disappointing the experience was. Yes the guy is charming and nice and acts like he will work with you but do not be fooled. We had a the warranty so if anything happened in the first 3 months He would take care of it. well 1. the drivers seat would not move up and was stuck so we were promised he would get us a new seat. did not do that. 2.then battery died so guy told us it would be only 68 dollars. we went to auto store and it was not 68. it was 100 dollars. he did not give us 100 dollars for reimbursement.only 68. we were told by his secretary he went on a 2 week vacation he would call us back about fixing the seat. never did so we have been screwed over and over. there have been more issues since too. we have put in over 2 grand so far to try and fix this car since the guy would not. Sales guy said he'd take care of inspection, bring it back blah blah...had my car for four days stating they were waiting on a license plate light from the manufacturer. Upon day 4, after being screamed at, hung up on and no return calls when I inquired as to where my car actually was..I was told that it would be in the G. E. Parking lot nearby. Wasn't able to get it inspected due to the poor condition. 'Someone ' tried to fix the damage w/spray foam and paint. The VFD got him to agree to pay for the repairs and inspection. Still waiting on copies of my paperwork that he never gave me. Horrible experience. I purchased it w/warranty, somehow AS IS appeared on the temp registration. My fault to not have it checked first but shady as they come. Stay away! Update...I reported this place to The Attorney Generals office. The sales persons Jay & others were fine and helpful. Joe, the owner, is impossible. We purchased a car on Saturday, basically ok. However, I still had a few questions, such as the CARFAX report, asked for a copy while signing documents. - Joe sidestepped me, by stating let's get this done first. Nevertheless, a call was placed on Monday because I wanted to have one specifically. I expressed my concerns about not having a copy of the one and had to pay to get one; also, I also asked Joe about finding he penciled in "AS IS" on top of the paperwork. He said that is what the warranty is about - well, not 100% happy with that notation because the car was never addressed or listed "AS IS" and furthermore I would never purchased it under those type of conditions. More importantly, I then found a discrepancy regarding the ownership. The car was listed and advertised as "one-owner" discovered it has "two owner's" - listed on the CARFAX report. Well, of course when I mentioned all this he was not too pleased, then stated he was with a customer, and he would call back. It has been 24 hours as of 2:17 p.m. on Monday, May 22 and he has yet called back. Also, called all three of the numbers listed for the dealership and not "once" has he or anyone returned the call. The phone trips over with this message "All of our salespeople are with other customers, and we will return the call in 3 three minutes.... Which has never happened? Unfortunately, I feel that since we have paid in "cash" - Northhills Auto, is finished with you. Well, that is not any way of doing business, and I am not a happy consumer with this treatment. I wish I had read the previous reviews. - Finally, I reached Joe, he said he was off yesterday - somneone could have relayed that information. Nevertheless, when I stated what was on the CARFAX report he denied it. I said that I was coming in on Saturday for additional paper work, told me not to come and he threaten to call the police. The ad for the truck my son was looking at did not have how many miles on the truck. The dealer was called and asked how many miles was on the truck he said 150,000 miles. The truck was test drove not paying attention to the mileage. Told the bank for finance 150,000 miles to see if the truck value was worth the loan. Purchased the truck my son drove it off the lot my son called and said there's 205,000 miles on the truck. Im the father and I am on the loan so I have a say in this matter. The mechanic has had a technician from Nissan come over and inspect the car. There has been a fair amount of poorly done work performed on the vehicle. The last person to work on the vehicle connected the power steering up incorrectly thus causing a major issue. The amount of work that needs to be done to make the car drivable totals over $2000.00. Worst Place to go in Pittsburgh for a car, I was ripped off buying a car from them. First, the owner and his about 14 yr. old daughter both lied to my face saying nothing was wrong with my car and treated both my mother and I with complete disrespect. Second, they told me I couldn't call the warrenty because they would drop me. It's been 3 months and no paper work has come. They are fraudulant on the warrenty as well as their vehicles. I'm just going to lay out the facts, Day 1: The car they sold me ran just fine. Day 2: car breaks down on the road, I miss an entire day of work. Turns out the alternator was broken and had to get that fixed. Thankfully they did actually fix that. Day after I got the car back: Check engine light comes on (note: it didn't come on when I did the test drive so either they tried to hide it, or maybe they messed something up when trying to fix the alternator). Turns out there was a P1457 error for the EVAP system 1 Week later: flat tire. It wasn't due to anything I've done. I noticed when filling up the tire with air that there was some type of liquid seeping out the tires where the hole is. Asked my friend about it and he said it was this cheap tire patching liquid called "fix a flat" 1Month later: Car breaks down on the road again. Turns out the battery was leaking and I had to get it replaced 1 week later: I finally take it to a repair shop to see if i can get the EVAP system fixed as well as see if there is anything else wrong with the car. Found out that the rear strut was also leaking and the tires were dry rotted and I had 1 month to get it inspected and it would be around $1500 in repairs, I asked them if it was covered under the warrenty North Hills offered and they said no and they referred me to their friend who is an expert on car warrenties. I called him and he told me that the warrenty company that I had was one of the worst warrenty places ever and that they never pay any money and that I was basically screwed. Next: I called North hills back up and told them about the situation, he told me that he'll "Take care of it for me". This lead me to believe that they'd be willing to fix it for free. So I drop my car off at the place to get it fixed. Next day: I get a call saying they need ABOUT $500 in order to buy the car parts they need to fix it and that i should stop by tomorrow. I was somewhat okay with paying for the parts so long as they'd to the labor so I was okay with that. Next day: I stop by to deliver the money, I asked him how much it was and he said 500. I found it a little fishy that all the car parts totaled to exactly 500 so I asked for a receipt. That when he replied with "Oh you don't need a receipt", My suspicions then shot through the roof. He told me if I wanted a receipt that I'd have to wait a while, so I did. I go back into the office and they just take out some piece of paper and write 500 on it and said "here's the receipt". So I'm just like, where are the totals for all the car parts that need to be ordered? Turns out that the car parts were already ordered and some already arrived so they actually didn't need my money to order the parts. The 500 was for a deductible and they were going to bill me an even greater amount for the repairs. Those were the facts, now here's my opinion. These people are shady, slick, liars that will do anything to get your money. They have no shame. Stay far far far away from them. Horrible place, I'm a teenage girl and they took adavantage of my lack of car knowledge. They started the car I was looking at before I went out there, and upon me taking the car home I realized it was because the car made noises that sounded like demons coming out of the deepest depth of hell when it it started. Then they told me repeatedly that the car had only 90,000 miles on it when the odemeter clearly read 226,000 miles, but me being a teenage girl thought maybe I was looking at the wrong thing and didn't want to question the people. I took the car to a shop after my brakes gave out less than 9 months after having the car and they said there was no way the car should've passed inspection. The person who did the brakes before did not install them correctly and could have lead to me getting into a serious accident with that error.there were also holes in the floor of the car that allowed you to see into the cab that were conveniently covered by mats, needs new exhaust, and the front wheel was on so loose it could have come off while I was driving. I got a three month warranty on my car and they said they would mail the paperwork to me. This warranty paperwork never arrived and they never helped me with my problem. At this place I was lied to and sold a car that was worth less than $2,000 in perfect condition on Kelly bluebook for $4,100. Never go here. read more
