I had a hankering for pasta, and after checking out their menu online, we decided to finally give North Italia a chance! And I'm so glad we did because it was delicious! We went for an early dinner around 4:30 on a Sunday and even though the restaurant was still quite busy, we were seated immediately. The hostess and the employer who walked us to the table were both very friendly. Our server came to the table quickly as well, and she was lovely! The restaurant is nice and open, lots of natural light coming through the windowed walls. My husband and I shared the seasonal vegetable salad and the braised short rib pasta. I asked our server if they have a split charge to split the food for us, and luckily they do not! The seasonal vegetable salad was pretty good, but the dressing was a bit light and could have used some more vinegar bite. The braised short rib pasta was so good!!! The short rib was perfectly cooked, flavorful, and paired very nicely with the cream sauce. The fresh horseradish in the cream sauce wasn't too overpowering, but added a nice, almost citric like flavor. We didn't have room left for dessert, but after seeing some of them delivered to the other tables, we will have to come back and try them in the future! Looking forward to returning and trying some other menu items. Word of caution: the parking lot is under construction at the moment, so while there is parking, it may be a bit difficult during their busy times. read more

I ordered the spicy, meatball pizza, the Bolognese, and the chicken Parm. I will say that I truly enjoyed the chicken Parm as it was very flavorful, and Stayed crispy the whole time. My party was seated right behind the crew working table, where all the wine glasses are. I was enjoying my dinner when the workers shattered the wine glasses, all the glass debris were scattered behind me. Luckily neither myself or my family members got hit by any glass pieces. Absolutely loved this place!! The entire restaurant is designed to feel open and cozy, we were very comfortable. The staff was busy but they weren't avoidant at all and they all seemed to enjoy each other and worked very well with each other. The beef carpaccio was so flavorful! You could tell it was prepared with high quality meat and attention was paid to the cut that was sliced so every single bit was perfectly tender. The cocktails are fantastic, each one I tried was on point in terms of originality and flavor. I had the Cosmo Dmedici, The Golden Fig and the Veni Vidi Vici. Not a single one had an overpowering alcohol taste and each drinks profile was apparent throughout. The Golden Fog was my absolute favorite and possibly one of the best cocktails I've ever had. I ordered the bolognese pasta and my wife orders the Spicy Rigatoni Vodka. The noodles were so crazy delicious, the tagliatelle in my bolognese tasted so fresh! Gets full very fast, but you can sit outside with heaters with no wait usually. Everything on the menu is really good except for the affogato--the espresso tasted like cigarette water. I chose North as the spot for a birthday dinner with my mom and sisters because it's such a great place for a special occasion. The service and pacing of the meal were perfect, with Brandon and Alan just being so friendly and knowledgeable about everything. In addition, they celebrate you with a complimentary dessert at the end of your meal. I've been to North before so I knew I wanted another crack at their grilled bread appetizer. It's just excellent bread that's grilled, drizzled with olive oil, grana padano cheese, herbs and balsamic but it's terrific. My mom and I split the chicken parmesan which comes with a side of rigatoni. I knew from experience that it's a generous enough portion to easily split. My sister loved that it's very sparsely covered with sauce and cheese but I found myself deprived. While the chicken was prepared well and I liked the breading, I would have traded all of the rigatoni for more sauce and cheese to add some moisture. The dark chocolate torta I chose as the gratis dessert was phenomenal. The amarena cherries were amazing with bites of dark chocolate cake and vanilla marscapone. Not too sweet but oh so satisfying. Amazing that I paid $25 for something this small ...If I were ordering for my kids, I would feel this were appropriate... If it was $8. The amount of chicken in here is maybe 1/4 of a chicken breast... mushroom slivers actually counted six. Very dry with hardly any sauce or flavor. Had to put my own seasonings on to get it somewhat edible, but then gagging down the dry dry noodles(already had the 3 pieces of chicken) I threw in the towel halfway through. I can't recall the last time I actually gagged on Italian food. It's really not that hard To make it somewhat decent. On a positive note the Truffle Bread Tasted really good($15). Oh, even at 15 bucks I would give it an OK value Super disappointed will never order from this place again. a half a dozen other Italian places around here dominant over this place. For starters this place cannot compare to anything I have gone to before. The Staff are extremely polite and seem to enjoy talking to you as the customer versus other places that try to get you in and rush you out. We have gotten Brooke every time we go, and she never lets us down. She is absolutely outstanding and delightful she takes her time with you and answers any question you have, giving an honest opinion making sure you feel welcomed with her very light aura. My son and I were in the back towards the kitchen so I was able to look around at everyone and view the way everyone engaged with each other like busy bees with out showing the stressed faces. I also noticed that the kitchen was completely separate environment than the lounging section, You could see everyone communicating and the cooks working their magic but, the only time you could hear something was when the two doors would open but, once closed you couldn't hear a thing. Also given with how extremely busy it was it seemed like the bad attitude and stress were miles away from every workers face and personality, Like a customers breath or fresh air. Now the food. For the beginning we got the Caesar salad. The salad was a whole leaved lettuce with a nice crum coat for a crunch with a lemon anchovy dressing which was a nice balance with some oil. We got a chicken parm with a soft Parmesan butter noodle pairing that it comes with. I enjoyed the difference between the two as that you aren't getting that marinara on marinara action as most restaurants pair it with spaghetti and sauce. My son got spaghetti and marinara. Noodles were perfectly al dente which had a nice bite to it. Ending our meal with a seasonal butter cake and tiramisu. The butter cake happened to be pumpkin. The cake on bottom was a bit dense with a soft pancake like top and a scoop of vanilla gelato coated with pecan granola drizzled with liquor syrup. The granola gave a nice crunch with the density of the cake and a nice cold gelato to cool it down. The tiramisu was very delightful as well with the two layers of espresso biscuit with cream in between and the chocolate crunch beads on top. The restaurant in its self is beautiful next time we will have to sit on the patio for a change in scenery. With A few other pictures to add from our first experience. read more

Ok...so I heard a lot of good things about this place. I stopped at the one in Tucson a few months ago. The staff was...stuffy...let's call it! The waitress was downright rude. I asked her to remove the alcohol menu, as none of us drank and it was just taking up space on our small table. She refused. At one point she actually rolled her eyes at us. The food was overpriced for the quantity/quality received. We felt rushed to leave after we were done eating. VERY overpriced and not good. The bolognese (signature dish) was ok. It did not taste like fresh pasta as the menu claims, but more like pasta from a box and the sauce was nothing special. My wife's chicken had no flavor. It tasted like it was cooked in a sous vide (or microwave) with absolutely zero seasoning. Tender, but completely flavorless. We ordered a bottle of wine for $44. It came out with a screw cap! I don't think I have ever seen a screw cap in a restaurant bottle with a price point over $29, so I had look it up on Google. I was shocked to see that it was an $6-10 bottle. Most of the time you can guess a restaurant bottle will be double the price of a store bottle but this was absolutely ridiculous. 4-7x the markup. From the moment we were seated at 8pm, the waitress was pushing to get us ordered, eaten and out of there. She was clearly ready to leave for the night. As we sat back and tried to finish the $44 (screw cap) wine, I was asked if I could go ahead and sign the receipt so she could clock out and leave. It was 9:30pm and they close at 10pm. Not really sure which was more disappointing, the food or the service. If you are going to be expensive...at least be good. read more

My wife's company held a year-end dinner for employees and spouses here and it was absolutely fantastic! We were in a private room that was very comfortable and easy to socialize. Our server, Brandon, was just amazing. He introduced himself to everyone personally and addressed every single person by name. Had great suggestions on wine and entrees. It was my first time here and the food is good but the attention to detail lacks a bit. Our server was very friendly and attentive which I appreciated. I had ordered the prosciutto and asparagus omelette but when it came out, there was only prosciutto and no asparagus so it was very salty. They gave me a side of asparagus but it's really not the same as if it was inside the omelette. We also ordered the spicy meatball pizza and requested that the chili oil be on the side and not in the pizza. Honestly the food wasn't anything to write home about. I'm really disappointed. We got here at about 5:15 PM wasn't seated until 5:35ish. That was okay. But my issue was with our food. My husbands pasta came out cold. We ordered our food at about 5:45 didn't get our food until 6:55 PM. That's over an hour of sitting and waiting. Our server was very welcoming and advised us in the right direction. If there ever comes a time where I'll get to pick my last meal, I will undoubtedly be coming to North Italia. Their chicken parmesean has firmly cemented its place in my heart as my favorite meal of all time. I have been a longtime fan of North Italia and I was lucky enough to get invited to this particular location's grand opening. This was my first time having the Heirloom Tomato and Burrata, but I think I've found my new favorite appetizer. The tomatoes are incredibly sweet and the burrata is just enough to satisfy two. For three or more, I would look at something a bit more substantial. This had a surprising kick - it has a Calabrian chili reduction drizzled over it which is very tasty but also a bit hot. The Chicken Parmesean is the real star of the show, though. The chicken is very well spiced and expertly cooked. The tomato sauce and cheese are just right -- nothing is swimming in sauce or cheese. The Parmesean Rigatoni is good enough to be its own entree (it's not). I can whole-heartedly recommend this to any chicken-eater on the planet. This entree is big enough to be split in half and eaten in two parts if one isn't especially hungry. One dish that I typically recommend against is the Squid Ink Mafaldine. I ordered it once purely for the novelty of eating squid ink pasta, but the Calabrian chilis they use in this dish overpowers the rest of the pasta, making it impossible to taste anything but heat. If dessert is in the question, they have some amazing options, but only one worth ordering; their Italian Butter Cake. It may sound mundane, but this is a sleeper dish. My husband and I have door dashed North Italia several times and it is always delicious! The white truffle garlic bread is great, especially if you're a lover of ricotta cheese. The pig pizza is great as well. The spicy rigatoni vodka is definitely our favorite. We have gotten the bolognese before, the noodles were very soft, past al dente and was very mushy. Probably just an off night. I can't speak to the environment or service of this location, but anytime I'm in the area and pass by it's always busy.
