We come here every Friday with our kids for an early family dinner and the experience is usually great. They have coloring sets for the kids and rotate the pictures every time which keeps them occupied until the food gets there. They do a great kids' spaghetti meatballs and kids' pizza (you can ask to add pepperoni to it). The Caesar salad is fantastic and good for kids and adults to split, we usually do 2 of those split and everyone eats it right up. For mains we like the adult spaghetti meatballs, chicken parm, spicy rigatoni, salmon and the pizzas. Generally the food is pretty good and better than most places in this category. We've gotten to know a lot of the staff and they are all so friendly and helpful. I don't understand the reviews about bad service here, we come all the time and only once did we have an issue that the food took a long time due to the kitchen being short staffed. read more

I really want to like this place because I've had some great meals here, but the inconsistency is hard to ignore. I've been here about five times in the past month, so this isn't based on visits years apart. The fried zucchini is a good example: one visit it was perfectly golden and lightly fried, and less than a month later it was completely overcooked and nearly burned (see photos). Fried zucchini is one of my favorite appetizers, and while I was excited to find it here, it's been inconsistent every time I've ordered it. After tonight, I won't be ordering it again. The same thing happened with the shrimp scampi. I had it once and thought it was amazing, so I returned later that week to order it again-only for it to be dry and lacking garlic. The contrast was jarring. If you get a great meal here, enjoy it--but whether it'll be great again feels like a gamble. The service was actually pretty good all visits. This was our first visit and we left very happy. It's a very nice restaurant with a good menu. On weekends they have brunch also. We had items from the brunch menu. I tried this restaurant this evening and the menu did not offer much in the way of seafood. It was extremely pricey as well. I asked the waitress if they could do a shrimp parmesan instead of a chicken parmesan and she said yes. I got a plate with four small grilled shrimp with a little bit of cheese and sauce on top and a bunch of pasta. It didn't taste good it wasn't appropriate to serve that as shrimp parmesan nor charge me as if it was shrimp parmesan and therefore I would not recommend this restaurant I don't think the food was that good obviously I did not really get what I ordered I find it extremely pricey and I was certainly not impressed. read more

Felt for pasta and narrowed the choice down to this restaurant and another one which was closer to home. My son chose this restaurant because he had been but we hadn't. We ordered the Calamari Fritti, the Bolognese (House Specialty), the Lasagna Bianca and the Lumache alla Norcina. The Lumache alla Norcina was my favorite! I ordered the food to-go, and like all restaurants, I'm sure the food is even better when eaten at the restaurant, but it was still great. The restaurant itself was dimly lit. The staff was friendly and helpful in bringing my order out. I shared the crispy eggplant parmesan, simple salad, and strozzapreti. The strozzapreti was fantastic. The simple salad was simple, fresh, and tasty. The crispy eggplant was unfortunately not crispy by the time we got it home, but it was still tasty. I wouldn't get the eggplant to go again, but I would order it onsite. Others I ate with had the braised short rib marsala, pasta bolognese, ricotta cavatelli, and the seasonal vegetable salad, and all were happy with their dishes. Overall this was a very nice place, I came for the Miami spice menu and was happy to see normal portions, I started with the Cesar salad which was delicious with huge croutons, the meatballs were fantastic and the charcuterie board were great , even though I could of used a little more cheese. For main dishes I had the pesto chicken pasta which was delicious and unique with nuts and I tried the spicy rigatoni which was a little too spicy for me and very basic. While out shopping, we decided to try this restaurant (new to me). It was a Saturday night and not too busy. It was a little odd that there was a short wait even though some tables were empty, but it only lasted about 10-15 minutes. I have gone to this North Italia multiple times, and each time has been a good experience. It's a good place to visit for happy hour, date night, or with friends. It's conveniently located within Dadeland mall, but it can be challenging to find parking close by. I've sometimes parked in the garage area or around the Macy's on the side and walked over. The food has never disappointed! I have gotten multiple things from the menu. Most recently, I tried one of their mocktails, and I was so happy with how good it is! My friend liked hers too, and it's great that North Italia puts thought into creating fun mocktails! They also have a lot of vegetarian options, which is why I keep coming back! Most recently I had the white truffle bread, which was delicious! The cacio e pepe arancini was good, but not my favorite. In past visits, I have had their vodka pasta, which I highly recommend! The pizza was also great along with the burrata, which was decadent. Once I ordered the pesto pasta without the chicken, and I was happy they were able to accommodate it. Service has always been nice and friendly. Atmosphere is warm and feels upscale considering it's attached to a mall. It makes a visit feel like an event. I had an absolutely fantastic visit at this North Italia the other day. Everything from the food, the service, to the decor just served it for me. Right now, they are participating in Miami spice until the end of September and I noticed that they even had a special for brunch as well. The manager Alejandro is super friendly and helpful if you need anything. On this visit, I tried the appetizer of Cacio E Pepe Arancini, which is basically the delicious risotto that is fried into six balls and served with a decadent pesto sauce on the side. It was topped with shredded Parmesan cheese, which added a nice cheesy flavor to the already concoction. For lunch, I tried the Pig pizza which was covered in different types of meat and while messy, extremely satisfying. It says it is served with a spicy soap preta but I didn't find it to be spicy at all, so I added my crushed red pepper since I am a spice oficionado. I also loved the famous meatball sandwich. It was exactly what you would dream of when it comes to a sandwich like that. Perfectly seasoned meat with a delicious marinara sauce at the perfect temperature. Visited with a group of about six on a weeknight for dinner. We opted to sit outside as there was plenty of space however it definitely filled up while we were there. Our group ordered a variety of items, some getting fish, some pasta and some steak. All of our meals got good reviews. We also had a mix of drinks, including wine, cocktails, beer, and non-alcoholic choices which were also all very good. Location is central to a lot of other items. We were staying in a hotel nearby and walked so can't speak to the parking. Service was pretty good, including a friendly welcome upon arrival and willingness to accommodate a change in our group size. I'm not sure if it would be considered a place that is good enough to warrant a repeat visit but, if you're in the area looking for a nice spot to try, this one is definitely worth consideration. read more

This place is so so good. I ordered the chicken parm and the pasta tasted so sharp and cheesy. The portion was the perfect size. I tried the margarita pizza and it was really good as well. The bolognese was amazing too, I would say the best thing I tried that day. My table also ordered the hot honey pizza, I personally wasn't a fan but they all loved it.
