I'm giving five stars because the food is just that good! But I do have some feedback. First, the food itself. We tried the truffle bread, the rice balls, and the calamari. All super delicious! I got the ricotta cavatelli for my entree, and we also got some desserts. The seasonal butter cake was the only item of the evening that didn't taste great. It had some kind of frosting on top with a strange, artificial texture. Unfortunately, the portions are tiny for the prices. Appetizers, sure. Desserts, that's fine (although people often share desserts, so they really should be bigger). But entrees? My pasta was absolutely swimming in sauce, and while I loved the generous amount of seafood, there was very little cavatelli. It would have been nice to have more to soak up the sauce and just fill me up more. I'll be back, and hopefully next time the portions will be a bit bigger. read more

Very disappointed with the service here. We came in with a party of 7 and the person at the front was not helpful at all. Instead of trying to accommodate us or offer any solutions, she looked like she didn't even care to help. The lack of customer service and attitude made the experience frustrating so I just walked out. People should not look down on others because you never know -- they might end up being your biggest tipper. A little kindness and professionalism go a long way. read more

OKAY listen... Rose is an absolute legend. Truly one of the best servers we've ever had. She was SO fun, so personable, and somehow magically kept our drinks full at all times (like... are you psychic, Rose??). At one point she even made us drinks that weren't on the menu and they were AMAZING. Honestly dangerous how good they were. We also had some weird food requests and she didn't even blink, just totally rolled with it and was the nicest about it. Zero judgment, just good vibes and great service. This place is a bit overhyped. I found the ambience and atmosphere to be really quite nice, but there wasn't a lot of food I could have and they were not very accommodating to allergies. I ended up having shrimp scampi which was good but very expensive for what it was. And I had a spicy mocktail that was delicious, but $10. Fun upscale italian restaurant with homemade pasta and delicious italian dishes. We showed up on a whim and were quickly seated, though it seems that it would fill up fast on the weekend so you may want to get a reservation. The ambience is nice. It's very calm, moody and upscale, great place for a birthday, anniversary, or a date. I ordered a Faux Me Twice (NA) which was perfectly balanced and oh so refreshing. We started with the calamari, which was probably the best calamari I've ever had, it was so crispy! Then we both ordered our pasta dishes. I always get concerned when ordering pasta because I've been surprised by very salty pasta, dishes, and other Italian restaurants, but that was not the case here. The pasta is handmade each morning and was cooked al dente, with each dish we ordered being perfectly seasoned and was a large portion with enough to take home. We finished the night with the Italian donuts, which were amazingly balanced with sweetness and soft bread texture and flavor. We really enjoyed our entire meal and service is great. We loved this place so much that we came back a week later to try more menu items. I love the vibe of the restaurant. We've sat at the small two-top tables in the bar area twice now. The service is consistently great and our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly. The Mister ordered a Manhattan and it was excellent. I got the Super Tuscan and I loved it. We shared the Prosciutto Bruschetta and it was beautifully presented. We were fortunate to travel to Tuscany a few years ago. We had lunch at a beautiful family farm and winery and the aroma of the bruschetta immediately took me back to that day and that meal. It's not your typical tomato bruschetta. Instead, the grilled asparagus and stracciatella made for a lighter bite. I could have ordered a second plate and eaten it by myself. We split the Italian Farm salad and The Pig pizza. The salad continued my trip down memory lane of our trip to that Tuscan farm. It was wonderful with meats, cheeses, briny bites from pepperoncini and olives, and lightly dressed with an oregano vinaigrette. The Pig was super tasty with a balance of salt and a hint of heat from the spicy sopressetta. The crust was crunchy and chewy. We finished with the tiramisu and it was an excellent way to end our meal. It came topped with crunchy little balls of shortbread covered in chocolate. It was a great addition to add to a dessert that can often lack texture. It was just the right amount of sweet. A great meal! read more

The restaurant has a warm, inviting atmosphere with large windows that let in plenty of natural light, which made it a great place to dine and relax. The wait staff was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. I ordered the Spicy Rigatoni Vodka and it was excellent, easily the standout dish for me. We also shared the Loaded Potato Skin Pizza, which had good flavor but could have used a little more salt. My friend ordered the Chicken Parmesan and really enjoyed it as well. We didn't have a reservation so when we arrived for 2 they said they only had outside seating. It is winter here so like 30 deg. We said no as I looked around and most of the tables were empty. As we said we would try another of the dozen places around and suddenly an inside table opened up. I thought it might be other reservations but as we left there were still a lot of open tables. As for the food it is a high end restaurant so the prices are not Olive Garden. We ordered bread which I thought was weird to pay $9 for 4 small pieces of bread. Most places give you free bread. The wife ordered the Strozzatreti and I ordered the Chicken Scarpariello. The wife said the pasta was a bit under cooked but the sauce was good. Mine was really good. The flavors were full and yummy. The chicken is on the bone and is a leg and thigh, but it was enough to be full. The service after we were seated was very good. The waitress was attentive and nice. The place interior is very cozy and warm (if you are inside) it is nice place to go for a quiet dinner before a move or after some shopping. read more

Right, listen up. If I could give it 3.5 stars. But since that's not an option, I'll say it's closer to 4 than 3 stars, alright? Let's get into the positives first--because there are a few, and we don't want to skip those. The place is buzzing with staff--plenty of them walking around, which is always good. The interior? It's like if Starbucks and the Cheesecake Factory had a baby--classy, stylish, but still comfy. They've even got fancy seats and, of course, the most important thing a cracking bathroom. You've got kids? Stomach issues? Or you're just human? You know a functional, clean bathroom is essential, and this one delivers. Now, let's talk about the less-than-stellar bits, shall we? We started on the patio, which at first seemed all posh and lovely. Then boom--the wind kicked in. My wife had to hold the flower vase down just to stop it blowing away. It was a nightmare. When it's calm, sure, the patio could be the perfect spot in summer, but today? Not so much. Thankfully, one of the staff noticed our struggle and made the call to move us inside. Good on them, because minutes later, the vase toppled over, glass everywhere, and water spilling all over the table. Then we've got the issue of service--way too many staff approaching us. Nobody introduced themselves, so we were left guessing who was in charge of what. And don't get me started on the wait. Forty minutes to get our food? That's just too long, especially when you've got an empty stomach. Now, onto the food. I went for the chicken Parmesan. At first glance, it looked incredible. But when I dug in, the noodles were undercooked to be honest. Fortunately, the cheese managed to save it, but it wasn't enough to mask the glaring issues. The chicken? Fine at first, but the more I ate, the more it tasted like cheap tomato sauce. That overwhelming flavor lingered far too long. But the biggest slap in the face? The price. Including tip, it came to $63. Are you kidding me? At that price, you expect perfection, and that's why I'm being harsh here. I get it, the place is new, but when you're dropping that much money, you expect to walk out feeling satisfied and like you've gotten your money's worth. This isn't somewhere you visit for a regular date night, no. This is for special occasions only--anniversaries, graduations, that sort of thing. If my meal had been $15 or $20, that's more like it. But $63? Ridiculous. That said, North Italia is still a solid addition to Mountain View Village, and I'll recommend it to others. Wonderful addition to Mountain View Village. Beautiful interior and lovely lighting adds to the vibes and ambiance. The staff were friendly, attentive, and have great recommendations. We had the heirloom tomato and burrata appetizer. The combination of flavors was delicious! It is a small plate so it was perfect for two to share. For the main entrée, we ordered the trottole chicken paste and the seared scallops. I loved the shaved garlic in the presto pasta, and the vinaigrette with the scallops. The only thing that threw me off was the sweet corn risotto. The corn flavor overpowered the others, but it was still tasty. Came here on a Wednesday for their Happy Hour. Their happy hour selection was a bit limited, so my friend and I opted to order 2 apps from the HH and 1 entree from the main menu. We ordered their Orange Sunset Gimlet and Sunset Alibis cocktails and they were yummy! We'd definitely recommend ordering the White Truffle Garlic Bread, although it is on the pricier side for bread. We originally ordered the Braised Short Rib Lumache, but they ended up giving us the Braised Short Rib Marsala instead. We were too deep in convo to notice/say something about it, but I don't remember the waiter clarifying with us what we had ordered. The risotto the meat sat on had some uncooked bits throughout. The short rib itself was flavored well, but quite dry. We also ordered the chicken pesto sliders which were tasty, but overall a bit salty. The ambiance of the restaurant was beautiful as it is newly built. Even on a Wednesday night, it seems like the restaurant was quite busy. It wasn't busy at all we almost had the whole place to ourselves, which made it really relaxing. I loved that they offered the kids an electronic drawing pad. I appreciate a positive attitude and friendliness and she was that. Maybe the southern"ish" accent wasn't real but it didn't hurt. We ordered the following. STROZZAPRETI $23 herb-roasted chicken, roasted mushroom, spinach, parmesan cream, toasted pine nut (delicious: garlicky, pine nut, yummy) BOLOGNESE (HOUSE SPECIALTY) $24 traditional meat sauce, pappardelle, grana padano, wild oregano, evoo (Traditional and hearty) Soda $4.50 (not a good deal) I'd give this place a solid A- overall The one suggestion I have is that the restaurant was pretty empty and they sat us next to the Open Kitchen. It didn't make sense to put us near the kitchen when quieter tables where you didn't listen to kitchen staff bickering were available. Everything we had was delicious. We ordered the Cacio e Pepe Arancini appetizer and it was amazing! Our party had Strozzapreti, Meatball Ragu, Italian farm salad, Ricotta cavatappi. My second time here was a much better experience. My friend and I brought our girls for their birthday and the staff really made them feel special. Kudos to NI for giving the kids sketch pads instead of just crayons and paper (honestly anything is better than nothing). We order the truffle bread and grilled bread for the appetizer. The food is absolutely delicious, I have had this in Orange County, CA and Denver, CO.. but I think so far.. this has the best plates! There is such a vibe here, I wish people dressed more appropriately to match it.. but it's Utah and very kick back casual seems to be peoples dress code here.. but the restaurant is such a nice place to have dinner as adults or maybe as a family? My husband and I definitely enjoyed it. They have such a huge selection of alcoholic beverages. Appetizers are wonderful and the same across all locations. Service: our server was AMAZING! She definitely was very detailed oriented and went above and beyond to ensure our allergy folks in our party of 11 were taken care of. She told kitchen multiple times to please be careful and when food came out she rushed over to over our table to make sure our allergen people had the right plate. The shopping center is called Mountain View Village and they had tons of shopping and food options within walking distance. Appetizers: we ordered the zucca chips which are not shown in photos but are zucchini chips. They were cooked in soy oil and served with a pesto sauce which was to die for! The zucca chips were paper thin and crunchy they just melt In your mouth. The pesto sauce was AMAZING it had a kick in the end with lemon taste. Allergen: soy, tree nuts. They don't use peanuts in anything but be mindful of soy and tree nuts. My husband has a tree nut and peanut allergy. My niece has a soy and peanut allergy and we were all good.
