The promotional deal was $25 for two items, which is not reasonable at all, especially considering dessert is not even included.The food quality made the price even worse. They served both the Sicilian meatballs and the Cacio e Pepe Arancini cold. The Hot Italian Stromboli was clearly premade and microwaved, resulting in a rubbery texture. To finish the meal, the Trottole pesto was completely drowned and over-over-over sauced.Restaurant Week is supposed to showcase a kitchen's best work to draw in new customers, but this experience did the exact opposite. I came here with my friend since we both live in the area and noticed all the restaurants nearby. This one looked pretty and Italian food sounded nice, so we made a reservation and tried it out. It was so worth it! We ordered calamari and pasta, which was all delicious and well made. It was very busy, so it took a little longer to arrive to our table, but it wasn't enough to spoil the mood. Our waitress was very attentive and checked to see if we needed drink refills and how our food was tasting. On weekends, due to the popularity of the restaurant, it can be noisy with chatter. If it's a nice day, I recommend sitting outside as it's easier to hear your dining mates. They have heaters outside for the couple of months it gets cold here in AZ! read more

We came here for Valentine's Day 2/14 as they just opened the week before. They had a 70$ per person deal for their opening. This had a 3 course meal excluding drinks. We don't have to wait long and were able to get seating at the high top. The place has lively and clean. Now here is where the disappointment begins as we don't get any recommend as the waiter seemed rushed to get our order. Once we got our appetizers the shrimp dish was not fully cooked so we asked for it to be re cooked and they took it to the back and never brought it back. There was never anyone who checked up on us so we just figured it was never coming out and to our surprise it didn't. The main course was really I enjoyed the risotto and that was the highlight of our meal. The meat was made perfectly and it was extremely flaky. The dessert was fine but nothing to rave about. Overall for 190$ I'd expect a far better service, and food. My wife and I hit this place up before an ASU hockey game and sat on the patio at the bar. The bartender was great and very helpful with food suggestions. The beer selection is limited but they have a good variety of whiskey. Our food came out quickly and was pretty good. I checked out the new location in Tempe, only a few days after it opened. You would never know it just opened, everything ran smoothly from the wait list to getting the check. No hiccups. The staff were very friendly, and helpful. The layout was great, very open and there's plenty of seating both inside and out. They have a great bar area that has both inside and outside seating; perfect this time of year. We ordered a few appetizers- the White Truffle garlic bread with spicy red sauce and ricotta, the shrimp scampi, and the arancini. I love the green sauce that comes with the arancini. The scampi was deliciously garlicky and the bread was grilled. For dinner, I actually had another appetizer, the eggplant parm, which was a hearty portion and prepared perfectly. Also had the pesto pasta, and that was delicious. I have now been to all locations of North, and one thing that will always drive repeat business is consistency. I was concerned that with so few reviews it might not be that great, but I'd go back anytime if I could (I don't live in AZ and have never heard of this place before even though it's a "chain"). My colleague and I got the Spicy Rigatoni Vodka pasta dish and the Hot Honey & Smoked Prosciutto pizza. We split them both and they were both amazing. Had dinner at North Italia and our server Lily was awesome. From the start she was super friendly and made us feel welcome right away. She gave us great tips on what to order (drinks/apps/main dishes) and kept our drinks full without us ever having to ask. We were referred by our next door Tempe neighbor and they nailed it. We just returned from a wonderful dining experience at North Italia Tempe! There were six of us and all had different entrée's. I wanted the full experience so we used the Valet parking, good call because these people were very efficient and respectful, twenty bucks to use the service, I didn't mind because we didn't want to park in the nearby ramps even though they give you a voucher to pay for your parking. We had a reservation, and it is highly recommended because they were packed! In Wisconsin this is "supper club" normal packed on a Saturday night Prime Rib special! We checked in with a lovely and pleasant hostess, and since we had a reservation we only waited about 10-15 min as they prepared our outside table. Still nice and warm weather at this time about 6PM and around 74 degrees, about 12 in Wisconsin! Next, an incredibly beautiful & highly skilled server "Brianna" came to our table with a winning smile and was very calm, collected, knowledgeable and saw to all our needs because she obviously have talent on loan from God. The bottle of Pinot Red was excellent for those of us that chose to partake in this adult beverage, well worth it! We chose not to have any pre snacks as we call them although they looked delicious as we reviewed the full and complete menu. I particularly love Italian cuisine and immediately locked on the Sunday night Lasagna, my favorite in every Italian place! I was not disappointed with my meal and the other 5 of us loved every bite of theirs! I do have a suggestion from my "what it's worth dept." For any pasta meal, you should go full Monty Italiano and give a small salad with Italian dressing, (real Romaine and Iceberg, not any of that crap "spring mix") and a couple pieces of garlic bread. When we first walked up, we didn't see a hostess stand so I asked the bartender (Michelle) if we could sit at a high top on the patio, she said go ahead and have a seat and I'll let the hostess know. We sat down and she was at our table within 30 seconds. Brought us water and menus and took our drink orders. When she came back with our drinks she told us the specials and took our appetizer order. We had the Crusted bread w/ "good olive oil" and the Risotto and reggiano parm filled arancini with a pesto sauce on the side. Both were just delicious! The creamiest Arancini I've ever had! Michelle and another waiter (Eric) checked on us with incredible timeliness. Always there if we needed anything but not pestering us. Eric came by just as we were finishing our appetizers and took our entree orders. My wife had the Seasonal vegetable salad and I had the meatball ragu butini with vodka cream sauce. Both were absolutely tremendous! The food was terrific but I can't say enough about the service! The 3 people who waited on us worked as a team to make sure that we received everything in a timely manner! Eric & Michelle especially were there for us like we were the only people in the restaurant and they were busy! Our night was Incredibly enjoyable between the spectacular food and the world class service. And we sat on the patio with absolutely perfect weather. My first experience at North Italia was subpar, but I decided to go back with my boyfriend for our anniversary and it was much better! We got the garlic bread as an appetizer and loved that with the herb butter. I got the vodka pasta and it had so much flavor, it was much better than the pesto I had previously gotten. He asked us if we wanted still, sparkling, or tap water without a notice of any up charge for any of them. We got our food and our portions were kids sized. For a $30 plate, you'd think you would get more than 5 bites out of it. Then, we got our bill and we were charged $8 for a bottle of still water that we could get at Whole Foods for $1.69!!!
