My family and I visited the restaurant on Saturday, June 20, at 5:00 PM. We had originally made an online reservation for the dining room, but decided to sit in the happy hour area near the bar so we could enjoy the happy hour specials. Our waitress, Aubrey (if I am remembering her name correctly), was absolutely amazing. She was attentive, friendly, kind, and made sure our order was taken correctly. She kept us informed with updates on our food and promptly provided additional salsa when requested. Her excellent customer service truly enhanced our dining experience. We ordered three Prime Rib Sandwiches from the happy hour menu, all served with fries and lightly toasted bread. We also ordered the largest Prime Rib dinner from the regular menu, served with asparagus and mashed potatoes. In addition, we enjoyed the calamari appetizer and the bacon-wrapped scallops from the happy hour menu. All of our food arrived hot, fresh, and delicious. We were very impressed with both the quality and presentation of the meal. The only minor feedback we have is that the asparagus was slightly overcooked, and while the bacon-wrapped scallops were good, we would personally prefer more scallops and less bacon. Even with those small observations, everything was enjoyable and well-prepared. We love this location and consistently enjoy dining here. The service was outstanding, and as a wonderful surprise, we were presented with a complimentary dessert cake to help celebrate Father's Day. That thoughtful gesture was greatly appreciated and made the occasion even more special. Thank you to Aubrey and the entire staff for helping make my husband's Father's Day celebration so memorable. This location in Tempe is one of my GOTO fine dinning places to hit up. I always get the Prime Rib which is always outstanding. I usually get mashed potatoes and a glass of Chardonnay to was everything down. I always sit at the bar and the service is always top shelf. I have visited The Keg at Tempe Marketplace on several occasions from business meals to birthday outings with my wife or friends. I have always had a delightful experience on each of these visits. The food is always tasty, and I have always appreciated the good service. I typically make reservations in advance on Open Table whether for a weekday or weekend dinner. Having made the reservation several days in advance, we typically have a very short wait to sit down at our table at our reservation time. Once we sit down, the servers show up rather quickly and provide us an easy flowing meal with appetizers (usually salad and bread with butter) followed by entrees (typically teriyaki sirloin or a filet), and then possibly dessert (Billy Miner Pie but without the nuts). Everything tastes great and is quite filling. The sirloin often comes with mashed potatoes, roasted carrots, and green beans. When my wife joins me, whe often orders an oven roasted King Salmon prepared with honey mustard glaze along with garlic mashed potato and broccolini. There are also some good deals to be had during the right times. For instance, happy hour is daily from open until 6 PM. This includes special priced food and drinks. Had an enjoyable dinner here. Reservations were easy to book on Opentable and we were seated immediately. We had the bone marrow appetizer, and I ordered the prime rib as my entree. First thing first... that pistachio salmon is out of this world! The flavor is incredible.. sweet but not too overwhelming. We stopped in for restaurant week and honestly for a steak house, we didn't really enjoy our experience. We tried the shrimp cocktail and wedge salad for the appetizer which were both basic, but tasted good. Then we had a blackened sirloin for our entree. Unfortunately the quality of the steak just did not meet expectations. It was rather tough and dry. I used to work at a steakhouse and understand the sirloin is less tender but this was almost inedible. For a steakhouse you would expect better quality regardless of the cut of steak. The vegetables it came with were bland/undercooked and the mashed potatoes gave you dry mouth. The only part of our experience that we did really enjoy were the desserts. We had the miners pie and a cheesecake which were both delicious. Service was friendly, but a bit slow. All of our appetizers were out before the server took our entree order, leaving us all juggling our menus looking for a place to put them down. When he did come to check on us, our appetizers were almost gone and he was close to walking away again without mentioning putting in our entree order. He was great about refilling waters but needed to be a little more intuitive. Pre-bussing was not a strong spot for him. The ambiance gave upscale steak house however the quality and service didn't meet that expectation. All in all if you're going out for restaurant week, I'd suggest trying someplace different. Nice little place. I go to Phoenix often, and I'm always looking for a good steak. Found this place near my hotel. They have a large variety of steaks and The prices are extremely reasonable. Quality is good, and they cooked it to a perfect medium rear, which is very important for me Make sure you compliment your steak with their double bake potato; that thing rounded the plate really well. Bartender and rest of the staff was very attentive. Chill vibes over all, great for a quiet date. My husband and I stopped in on a Saturday night since we had a gift card. We were seated immediately, which should've been our first red flag. The hosts were not very friendly at the front. My husband and I both ordered drinks - they were ok, definitely overpriced for what they were. I ordered the lobster roll, at recommendation of our server. It had hardly any flavor. It came with fried and a salad - the fries were very mid and had no seasoning except light salt. The salad dressing was overpowering with lemon juice to the point where I couldn't eat the salad. My husband had the prime rib dinner - the meat was cooked to an appropriate medium-rare and had good texture, but was again lacking flavor. I left feeling like I was ripped off. Ordered a steak Oscar for $44. Anywhere you order a steak Oscar it is supposed to be a steak topped with some crab. I instead got two very under-seasoned, overcooked scallops and three shrimp. The menu in the restaurant does NOT specify what the steak is topped with, so upon receiving my entree I reviewed the online menu and that DOES specify that it comes with no crab just shrimp and scallops which is misleading. My co-worker and I figured why not. It was a nice patio dining with plenty of space between tables. It was a weekday and a tad slow so we were able to be seated immediately. He ordered a steak while I ordered the prime rib sandwich. The sandwich was amazing! Perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful every bite was delicious. The french fries were forgettable, but that sandwich was fantastic! I also ordered a glass of wine and well the pour was generous. I stared at the glass thinking how switching to wine to reduce calories likely won't work if they serve half a bottle. But it was a fantastic glass of wine! Our waitress was fantastic. We came here for dinner since we were in the area. We were seated in the "lounge" area very quickly (it felt just like the mai dining area so no issues here). For appetizers, I had the jumbo shrimp cocktail, which were cold and large, and the lobster bisque, which was tasty but ... no lobster chunks as others complained about here. For the main, I got the prime rib, mashed potatoes ,and lobster tail. The lobster tail was very generous and loved the melted butter on the side over a fire. The prime rib was good. Docking a point here because it took a little bit to ask someone for a steak knife (we were given just butter knives?!) - that was a bit odd. Otherwise, it was fine and seemed the server was doing the best they could do. The cocktail I chose was the dirty martini, which was delicious and packed the punch I needed. My husband opted for the prime rib with mashed potatoes, and a Caesar-- which he enjoyed. I opted for the prime rib dip which was cheesy, savory, and delicious. I even stole some of my husband's horse radish to put on my sandwich. I opted for a garden salad instead of fries. I appreciate that the salad contained bell peppers and pickled red onions. The cherry on top was the ice cream "cake", which really was more of a pie. I appreciated that it was more of crust as opposed to a traditional ice cream cake that can get dried out. I had the filet mignon wrapped in bacon with seasonal veggies--absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly. I loved the baby sautéd mushrooms. The server Ethan was super friendly and gave us the low down on the menu We started with tuna tar tar which was so delicious! I had the best 10 oz filet of my life at The Keg. We made a reservation and were seated promptly. The service was attentive and professional. The place was all dark wood and dim lighting which I like in a steak house. The menu was fairly populated with offerings for the discerning carnivorous appetite. Mrs Billy D had their version of an Old Fashioned which I tasted. It was very good. Back to that filet. It was on the rare side of medium rare and I almost didn't need a knife to cut it. Fine Dining on Father's Day! Ahhhh. Crowds, hot dogs, baseball, the US Open! Nope. My son chose to take me to one of my favorite restaurants and I'm so glad he did. First off, let me say that this was my first time going to a restaurant since being restricted to a wheelchair. I was treated with respect and my only concern was the lack of handicap parking out front. I was fortunate to have my son there to lift my chair out of my car, but this could have been an issue if he wasn't there. We made reservations so our wait was less than 10 minutes. We were asked our table preference and our host quickly moved my wheels off to the side. Dinner was fantastic. The Alaskan King Crab legs are not on the menu but ask for them! They usually have them available. I always get the French Onion soup. The Prime rib was soft and tasty, and the crab legs were buttery and great. Caution! Dont overload on the bread. Or do. Came here to celebrate my fiancé's birthday weekend. We stayed in downtown Phoenix and after our activities through the morning, we made it here to meet with family for a nice steak dinner. Overall, the service was relatively prompt and attentive. It was a pretty casual vibe and overall atmosphere was nice. We ordered a few appetizers to get us started with the bread service. We got the shrimp cocktail, calamari, caesar salad, and lobster bisque as far as starters. The calamari was complemented with two sauces that gave it flavor since the app wasn't seasoned at all as far as the breading. Aside from the breading being flavorless and a bit loose, it was alright because the sauces came on the side to dip. The lobster bisque was more on the watery side, but flavor was quite good overall with tiny bits of lobster pieces. Our main entrees as far as steaks go were good and finished to preferred temperatures. The side veggies were a bit uneven in the way they were cooked, but still good with our sides of mashed potatoes. The birthday dessert was a mocha cake slice that our family enjoyed and was able to finish altogether because it was quite big. For the record the food here is good. The service though.... We stopped in for dinner last Monday night (4/1/24). Website says they close at 10pm so when we arrived at 8:45pm we were a little put off by the lack of hospitality from the manager. There was a sign posted that the dining room was closed but the bar was open. After staring at us waiting to see what we were going to do I finally broke the awkward silience and asked the manager if they were serving food in the dining room? "Uh, yeah". Ok...we helped ourselves to a table and were helped by a server there. The manager's lack of service was too bad as the food was pretty good. Would I return?
