Prime rib classic with mixed vegetables
Karen W.

Had an enjoyable dinner here. Reservations were easy to book on Opentable and we were seated immediately. We had the bone marrow appetizer, and I ordered the prime rib as my entree. The bone marrow was piled on with chimichurri, so much that I felt that it distracted from the actual taste of the bone marrow. The prime rib was tender and medium rare as ordered. You have your choice of side and the veggies I had were delicious with the beef. Service was attentive. We had a gift card to use up and had no problem redeeming it.

First thing first... that pistachio salmon is out of this world! The flavor is incredible.. sweet but not too overwhelming. That mashed potato is the perfect texture and a great pairing to the salmon. Had a watermelon margarita which was also very yummy, light and refreshing. We sat in the bar/lounge area at a booth. Comfy & intimate, seats weren't too close together. Hannah was great. very attentive, answered all my questions and had great recommendations. Had a great dinner here! will return & I hope that salmon dish never goes away.

We can't ever get enough of the prime rib sandwich. It's the bomb!!!! We get it every time we come. Their horse radish is homemade and one of the best we have ever had. This sandwich is so good and melts in your mouth. Today we tried the filet with blue cheese topper. Man out of this world. With the wedge side salad. One of our favorite restaurants *only thing I did not enjoy this evening was the music. It was like a techno Jazz style and it was really loud.

I never have a bad time at The Keg. We often go for birthdays (more on that later). Service is almost always great, food is delicious and consistent, decor is lovely. It's a chain, and I'm not a huge fan of chains in general, but The Keg is the exception. The birthday thing: We were here recently for my dad's birthday and were informed that they're phasing out the BOGO free birthday meal and converting to a points system in 2026. Boo.

We came in on a Saturday night with 5 people. Place was busy but everyone there was great, we asked to be moved from a booth to a table and it wasn't an issue at all. The place was pretty noisy from all the people, but wasn't too loud to talk at all. The waiter was very attentive and friendly. The drinks and food were great. No issues at all. Highly recommend this place.

We spent Thanksgiving here and it was such a gift. We chose it because they offered a full traditional Thanksgiving meal along with their regular menu, which was perfect for our family while me and my hubby were visiting from out of town. Every plate was delicious, the portions were generous, and the quality was exactly what you hope for on a holiday that means so much. The service was impeccable. Our server managed the holiday rush with true care and attention, and we never felt rushed or overlooked. The wine list and cocktails were incredible and added to how relaxed and stress free the whole evening felt. If you are looking for a place where you can enjoy a beautiful meal with loved ones without the pressure of cooking or cleanup, I cannot recommend The Keg enough. It made our Thanksgiving both easy and memorable, and we left feeling full, grateful, and well cared for.

We stopped in for restaurant week and honestly for a steak house, we didn't really enjoy our experience. We tried the shrimp cocktail and wedge salad for the appetizer which were both basic, but tasted good. Then we had a blackened sirloin for our entree. Unfortunately the quality of the steak just did not meet expectations. It was rather tough and dry. I used to work at a steakhouse and understand the sirloin is less tender but this was almost inedible. For a steakhouse you would expect better quality regardless of the cut of steak. The vegetables it came with were bland/undercooked and the mashed potatoes gave you dry mouth. The only part of our experience that we did really enjoy were the desserts. We had the miners pie and a cheesecake which were both delicious. Service was friendly, but a bit slow. All of our appetizers were out before the server took our entree order, leaving us all juggling our menus looking for a place to put them down. When he did come to check on us, our appetizers were almost gone and he was close to walking away again without mentioning putting in our entree order. He was great about refilling waters but needed to be a little more intuitive. Pre-bussing was not a strong spot for him. The ambiance gave upscale steak house however the quality and service didn't meet that expectation. All in all if you're going out for restaurant week, I'd suggest trying someplace different. Their regular menu may be better but we were definitely disappointed with our restaurant week experience.

Pretty decent place overall. Went for a late night dinner reservation about 8pm and were seated right away. Host and server were very nice and knowledgeable. The runner who brought the food delivered misinformation about available items. Ambiance was very nice with low lighting. The strawberry vanilla margarita was very good! Steak was average, sauces are different, undercooked carrots, delicious green beans and mashed potatoes are ok - not fully smooth with skin on.

This place was awesome! Food was superb! Came with a large group and we got amazing service, quality drinks and had some amazing dinner options. The restaurant is spacious, and well staffed

Prime rib end cut, always the best! Twice baked potato (eh)

The prime rib end cut is always my favorite as I like lots of seasonings. This cut was not disappointing. The ambience was busy and a low rumble. The server was not on par at all. Our drinks took quite some time, the appetizers came and the drinks were empty. The food came and the drinks were still empty. At least we had water. We finished our food and waited another 15 minutes before the server came back around for desserts. Busy or not timing is everything on a $300 meal for 4. I will not go back.

Service- amazing! I'm glad we made a reservation just because the place was pretty busy. The server did an amazing job as well. Drinks- the martini drink was good and definitely made fresh. Food- not bad! I got the chicken and it was pretty tender. The mashed potatoes were divine as were the twice baked potatoes. I wasn't a big fan of the carrots with the food as they were a little too hard

Ask the Community - The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Tempe

Do they have misters outside?

They did last time I was there... not sure at what temp they start them.

I have a party of 30, would they be able to accommodate?

It certainly has the space to accommodate that many people.

Will you be serving Thanksgiving dinner?

For $30 on November 28th The Keg will be serving a Turkey dinner, caesar salad and pumpkin drizzled cheesecake.

We got the pork belly wedge. This would have been enough. This salad was legit!!! We got the pepper roasted short rib with polenta... it was perfect!! That little poblano flavor sauce with the perfect texture of polenta and the meat was perfectly rendered. It comes with this crazy flavorful corn that is out of this world. We got the steak frites as well and it was perfectly cooked and the fries were perfect but it couldn't hold a candle to the other menu items we got.

It is not your typical steakhouse and you definitely get the feeling that each dish is curated by the chef. We ordered the deviled eggs and what I believe are called short ribs, sliders off of the happy hour menu. I'm assuming that menu changes semi often because they don't have it on their website (which is a plus to me ). The deviled eggs were some of the best I've ever had and were only five dollars. The short rib sliders were a little bit dry, but overall had great flavor. For our main course we ordered the New York strip over fried rice and the crab Rangoon Arancini. Both were incredible with great flavors. The strip was a little bit overcooked for my liking. I ordered medium rare and probably got somewhere around medium well. However, because it was served over fried rice and topped with Katsu miso butter it was still delicious. We also ordered the lobster mac & cheese. The lobster mac & cheese had a great flavor, but to be honest, there was too much of it. Sort of a strange critique, but it could easily have served four people and was just too large for only my wife and I. It was very rich, but overall still very good. The service was a little slow. They had one server and a bartender who were running food. It looked like the server was responsible for every table. We arrived at about 5:00 and got out of there around 6:45. I assume that because they are a smaller restaurant, they may just be getting their feet under them in that regard and can see that issue being easily solved by adding another server. That being said the service at the restaurant was extremely friendly and professional. If I was to change a few small things to put this restaurant over the top, it would be the following: 1. Toasted or warmed up buns for the sliders. 2. Faster service. 3. Smaller portions for the lobster Mac or at least have the server inform smaller tables about how large the portions are. Keep in mind that was the only dish that we felt was just a little too much. Overall, I don't think any of these deficiencies are impactful enough to reduce a five star rating to a four star rating. All the food I saw the other tables also looked really delicious. I highly recommend you try this restaurant. Worst case scenario get yourself a bottle of wine. Sit and talk for a little longer if the food takes some time. It might just be because the chef is putting a lot of work into making sure every dish is perfect.

The food was extremely high quality, including the excellent seafood bar. The steaks were similarly outstanding and perfectly cooked. Only thing missing in my book is my preferred steakhouse potato side dish- crispy hash browns. Too full for dessert but also did not see my other steakhouse favorite "side", a hot fudge Sunday. Service was excellent as it should be given the premium pricing. Cocktails and selection of liquors was top shelf but (as you sometimes find in Steakhouses) wine list as meh and I consider the absence of half bottles a major flaw for an otherwise top notch restaurant. The first thing that hit me was the impeccably romantic decor. The lighting is soft without being dim, the textures are rich, and the entire space feels intentionally designed to make you slow down and savor the moment. The steaks are, simply put, phenomenal. Perfectly cooked, deeply flavorful, and served with the kind of confidence that only comes from a kitchen that knows exactly what it's doing. Every bite reminded me why Steak 44 has such a strong reputation. The sides are hearty and generous, the kind you want to share but secretly wish you didn't have to. Whether it's potatoes, vegetables, or something richer, each dish feels crafted with the same care as the steaks themselves. The service was exceptional from start to finish. Attentive without hovering, polished without feeling stiff. Every staff member I interacted with seemed genuinely invested in making sure I had a great experience. It's rare to find service that feels both professional and personal, but Steak 44 nails it.

Despite the cheese not looking melted on top of the chili, it was perfectly heated and had a little spicy kick to it as well. The jalapeño honey cornbread was the perfect pairing. For the entree, I went with the filet mignon which was cooked to perfection, medium rare plus. It was flavorful and melted in my mouth. Rarely do I finish a steak in one sitting but I was determined to enjoy every bite. My steak was paired with their parmesan potatoes which was like an elevated au gratin. Both items were very delicious. For drinks I had the copper spur which was a slight riff on a classic gold rush cocktail. For dessert, I had the chocolate mousse which was like chocolate pudding with pizazz. Again, both items were very good. All in all, I would absolutely return. Easy 5/5 for me .

Everyone was friendly, professional, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling overbearing. The service honestly matched the upscale atmosphere perfectly and made the whole experience feel even more polished. And OMG... the food. SO SO SO SO SO GOOD. Like genuinely one of those meals where every single bite makes you pause for a second because it tastes that incredible. I got the chicken orzo along with the lime icebox cake for dessert, and both were absolutely amazingggg. The chicken orzo was phenomenal. The lemon flavor throughout the orzo was bright, fresh, and flavorful without being overpowering, and the tomatoes were the PERFECT addition because they balanced everything so well and added a little sweetness and freshness to the dish. But the chicken... wow. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside while still being super juicy and tender inside, which is honestly hard to do. Every component of the dish worked together perfectly. Magnificent is genuinely the best word for it. And the lime icebox cake was the perfect ending to the meal, refreshing, creamy, flavorful, and not too heavy after dinner. The restaurant itself is very cute and clearly designed for photos, which matches what I saw on their Instagram. Service overall was fantastic. The food, however, was just okay. I ordered the burrata and fig plate and was told they'd replace the bread with apple slices. I received five very small slices of apple, and when the plate was set down the waitress said she'd get more if needed. I later noticed I was charged $2 for an additional five slices, which together didn't even amount to half an apple. Ironically, the bread that comes with the dish would have been far more substantial. The burrata was fine, but nothing memorable. My friend ordered the chicken and brussels sprouts and didn't even finish it before having the plate taken away. The flourless almond cake was the star, a bit salty on its own, but with the ice cream and whipped cream it was a delightful combo which were the highlight. Overall, this is a great spot for cocktails, ambiance, and photos, but the food is fairly mediocre compared to the setting.

The Papas Verde had an addicting tang from the tomatillo salsa but were brilliantly balanced out by the chorizo and asadero cheese. The shaved brussel salad could have used a little more date and chile to balance out the vinegar but I was pleased either way. The elote was probably the only thing that fell short execution-wise as I didn't get much of the chorizo flavor, but the cook on the corn itself was perfect. The Gambas al Ajillo are absolutely a must-get. Juicy, sweet shrimp with an unexpected kick from the butter sauce and unsurprisingly great bread from Noble. The Tlayuda was a little heavy on the lettuce, but the smoked pork and bean puree combo were so flavorful that it helped balance out the richness with texture and freshness. I also loved the crispy contrast from the fried tortilla. We ended with the Concha and Mango Sticky Rice ice cream which sounded pretty simple but was quite impressive in its own right. The ice cream was a touch too frozen, but it ended up working out well with the crunchy cornflake coating and lightly warmed, pillowy concha to make a really satisfying ending to our meal.
