    Enchilada Trio
    Ashley F.

Went here for a work event and had the most amazing dinner. I was able to experience the appetizers, main course, and dessert. The queso fundido was so delicious as was the cheese dip. I had the hardest time choosing what to get for dinner. I finally decided on the enchilada trio. It was amazing, the charro beans are so good. The most flavorful beans I've had. The trio comes with a cheese, pork, and chicken enchilada. For dessert they had was the pineapple empanadas which were great. I didn't have the fajitas but the smell made me wish I had them. The service was fantastic! Very attentive. The restaurant has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and is bright and beautiful. I can't wait to try it again soon!

We celebrated birthdays here past weekend and it was very fun. The food is okay for me but everyone enjoyed their meals. I ordered the chicken tinga bowl. The chips are fresh and delicious. The burritos are huge and comes with sides. I enjoyed the watermelon agua Fresca (a must!). Service is very good! Ambiance is nice and the only disadvantage is the parking.

Didn't love the food here! Food was below average tasting. Just bland, tasteless, and boring! I went to the Blanco in Phoenix a while back and had their slow cooked pork tacos, which were dreamy, but that item is no longer on the menu. Too bad, so sad... Giving 3 stars since our server was very nice and accommodating to my husband's celiac disease. Even though she was not knowledgeable about the menu, she She made sure to ask the right person to prevent my husband from being poisoned with gluten! I do remember the Rosa Bonita margarita being delicious! And it's a great, happening place for just cocktails!

Very cute place to eat. The food was delicious and our server was great. He was very attentive, answered any questions that we may have had and was very thorough.

I'm a big fan of all Blanco restaurants... so I was excited to finally get over to the Tempe location which is fairly close to me! There's a cool ambiance in this restaurant with an open-air setting. This place will be great to enjoy on spring and fall afternoons... especially during happy hour! We sat at the bar and despite being a busy afternoon, a bartender attended to us pretty quickly! I got started with the Rosa Bonita Margarita - it was an excellent choice and I would order it again! Slightly fruity and sweet... and 100% delicious! For food, I'm a sucker for Blanco's chips and salsa... so I indulged in plenty of those! I was between a couple entree options, so I asked the bartender which ones were both gluten-free... but she was not sure. I appreciated that she went to the kitchen to ask. I ended up ordering the Short Rib Machaca Bowl. It was good, but I probably would not order it again. Overall rating: ****FOUR STARS**** Gluten-free rating: ****FOUR STARS****

Solid Mexican food! The skinny margaritas are really delicious however if you don't like spice, do not get the tajin rim. The tajin is house made and it is SPICY AF! I hardly survived haha The chips and salsa are really good and the enchiladas plate was a total hit!

We had such a fun night Here on our last night in phoenix. Chips salsa guac all great. Can be a little loud, but has a young vibe being so close to the college. Our server was kind, had great recs, and was attentive.

Chips and salsa! Yum! Not too spicy, but enough to give it a little kick and a nice flavor!

I've been wanting to try this restaurant as it is part of the Fox Concepts Group. Located in Central Tempe near Arizona State University, it is in a new development of other Fox restaurants. We arrived early on a Saturday morning so we were one of the first parties to occupy a table in the restaurant. The restaurant is clean, interesting and inviting. We were sat in a large booth and given time to look at the menu. There is also a ton of patio seating if eating outside is your thing. This is one of those menus that gives you a nice selection, but not an overwhelming selection. Right away I chose the short rib Machaca burrito and my husband chose the Carne Asada burrito. We were each very happy with our selections! My short rib was so tender and delicious, it was amazing! My plate was overflowing with beans, rice, sour cream, guacamole and the burrito. And to top it all off, it was served enchilada style. I can't remember the last time I've been in a Mexican restaurant and I've been served all of these things without an up charge. Be warned that the chips and salsa are so good. You don't want to fill up before your food comes!! The chips are just how you like them. Crunchy and lightly salted, not too thin, not too thick. The salsa had just the perfect amount of kick and was a great combination of onions, tomatoes and spices. Feel free to go ahead and dig that chip in there and get a nice chunk of salsa on there before you pop it in your mouth. We both concur that the food was filling and flavorful, and we will definitely make the trek again! I spoke to Jazz, the manager, just to let her know how much we enjoyed our experience and the food on our first visit. She let us know that the food is made fresh each and every day. You can tell, it is just so amazing you have to try it! Our server, Nick made sure we were well stocked with everything that we needed at all times. He did a great job taking care of us. So if you're in the market for Mexican food pass up that new Mexican place by the mall (which is way too noisy) and check this place out instead. Prices are good, food is amazing and service is just how you would like.

Blanco Cocina is always a great visit. We were near the Tempe location and having tried the Phoenix location we knew it would be worth the visit. We were there in the early afternoon and there was plenty of seating and fast and friendly service. The ambiance is great with modern art as decor and lighting. The food was delicious and was made with care. Plenty of service staff if you have questions or need another beverage or food item.

I was visiting from out of state and found his little gem. The food was amazing and so filling. The environment outside was so welcoming and beautiful. The service was amazing and friendly. I couldn't stop talking about this experience with my girlfriends as their drinks were excellent.

I came here on a Friday night with some friends. We had a reservation and I'm glad we did since it was really busy. Blanco validates parking in the Novus and Packard garages. I really love the all of the Mexican inspired decor here, but it was loud. Definitely had to strain to hear the people talking at my table, and even the waitress was hard to hear. But she was also very nice and attentive. We came during happy hour which had some really good deals. I ended up just ordering the happy hour guacamole, crispy sweet potato and chicken pastor tacos. I enjoyed everything I ate and our food came out fast and hot. Some of my friends didn't love the sampler platter that they'd ordered, but they did enjoy the drinks.

Stopped in for a bite and drink before the football game. This place is so conveniently located just a short walk from the stadium. The service was amazing. Our waitress Alyana was phenomenal. She was attentive, knowledgeable and very welcoming. Loved the complimentary salsa. The housemade splice was my favorite. Ordered: Chicken Tinga enchiladas 9/10 Crunchy taco salad 8/10 Caramel apple empanadas 9/10 The food came out quickly even with the pre game rush. Everything cooked well and seasoned nicely.

The chicken tenders were fire!!! What is lacking on this occasion was service. The server that we had was so unattentative. I have never been in a cocktail lounge in my life and had to beg for drinks. Our server would wait until every drinks was made for all of her tables before bringing out drinks. It was ridiculous. She was nice but seemed high. I ended up only having 2 drinks. We would have ordered more but they have 90min max seating and we didn't event get drinks for the first 30min. No exaggeration. Also one of my drinks I had to send back. My apple martini tasted like soap. It was like they did clean the glass after giving a soap bath. No bueno. So they need to get their service to match the vibe of a true cocktails lounge. Yes it is a 70s vibe but doesn't mean the lackadaisical style service. I would come back and try again. The music, the atmosphere and the food was good. They gotta get these cocktails together and service. We ended up walking to nearby competitors and that was money lost for DDG.

It's the kind of restaurant that makes getting dressed up feel exciting and worth it, and I absolutely loved that about the experience. It felt like such a perfect date night spot or place to celebrate something special. The servers were also extremely attentive the entire night. Everyone was friendly, professional, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling overbearing. The service honestly matched the upscale atmosphere perfectly and made the whole experience feel even more polished. And OMG... the food. SO SO SO SO SO GOOD. Like genuinely one of those meals where every single bite makes you pause for a second because it tastes that incredible. I got the chicken orzo along with the lime icebox cake for dessert, and both were absolutely amazingggg. The chicken orzo was phenomenal. The lemon flavor throughout the orzo was bright, fresh, and flavorful without being overpowering, and the tomatoes were the PERFECT addition because they balanced everything so well and added a little sweetness and freshness to the dish. But the chicken... wow. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside while still being super juicy and tender inside, which is honestly hard to do. Every component of the dish worked together perfectly. Magnificent is genuinely the best word for it. And the lime icebox cake was the perfect ending to the meal, refreshing, creamy, flavorful, and not too heavy after dinner. Honestly, I'm sitting here craving the food again just looking back at the pictures I took. This is definitely one of those restaurants that sticks in your mind long after you leave.

The restaurant itself is very cute and clearly designed for photos, which matches what I saw on their Instagram. Service overall was fantastic. The food, however, was just okay. I ordered the burrata and fig plate and was told they'd replace the bread with apple slices. I received five very small slices of apple, and when the plate was set down the waitress said she'd get more if needed. I later noticed I was charged $2 for an additional five slices, which together didn't even amount to half an apple. Ironically, the bread that comes with the dish would have been far more substantial. The burrata was fine, but nothing memorable. My friend ordered the chicken and brussels sprouts and didn't even finish it before having the plate taken away. The flourless almond cake was the star, a bit salty on its own, but with the ice cream and whipped cream it was a delightful combo which were the highlight. Overall, this is a great spot for cocktails, ambiance, and photos, but the food is fairly mediocre compared to the setting.

The most recent was…read moreon a Thursday night around 10:30 p.m. This speakeasy is located on Mill Ave., the center of Tempe's party scene. Because of its location, parking isn't easy. If you're looking for free parking, you're going to have a long walk. Outside of that, you'll have to pay for parking in a garage or metered street parking. Ambiance (4/5): Hint hint. Idle Hands is located inside Devil's Hideaway. A true speakeasy shouldn't have signage outside indicating its location. Unfortunately, there's a sign for Idle Hands outside of Devil's Hideaway which takes away the sense of mystery and intrigue that a true speakeasy provides. Outside of this hiccup, it's a cool speakeasy. It's intimate, with 10 or so seats at the bar and about 10 seats in booths facing the bar. There's a projector screen behind the bar that had mystical motion graphics the first time I stopped by (thinking wizards) and Halloween motion graphics the second time (with it being a day before the holiday). There were some other Halloween decorations up. The only area of improvement? The music often doesn't match the vibe. A lot of the music they were playing on my last visit was Irish music that would be fitting for a pub. Service (4/5): I had the same bartender each time. He knows how to make a good drink and is pretty efficient. When you close out, he only gives you the merchant copy. Which is a pet peeve of mine. Let me get that customer copy too. But overall, a good experience. Especially at a college bar. Food (N/A): I've only had drinks both times. Idle Hands actually doesn't have food, but Devil's Hideaway does. And you're allowed to bring food from there into the speakeasy. Drinks (4.5/5): It's pretty surprising to see a speakeasy on a college campus. I was impressed with the creativity of the menu, both in terms of the ingredients used and the fusion of flavors. I've had a different cocktail each time, and they've all been great. My favorite was one served in a box filled with smoke. Talk about a cool presentation! The hallmarks of a solid speakeasy are elevated cocktails, nice ambiance (dimly lit), an intimate space, and mystery/intrigue. While the intrigue is lacking at Idle Hands, and the music can be improved, they hit it out of the park in the other areas. One of my favorite speakeasies I've been to in Phoenix (and surrounding areas). I am, after all, the self-appointed king of speakeasies. The king gives his stamp of approval.

My family and I ordered family style so we can try everything. For starters, we ordered the milk bread, fire roasted bone marrow, spicy peanut and tomato salad, and the tuna pineapple ceviche. I might say this multiple times in my review, but the food was very delicious and the description of the food was very interesting however it all blended so good in my mouth. The milk bread was topped with a miso tomato butter with almond and kalamata. Sounds interesting right? But when you actually tasted it, it was delicious! Who knew to bring such ingredients together to make this?! The softness of the bread and the saltiness from the butter complimented it so well! The fire roasted bone marrow was served with sourdough toast with a jalapeno marmalade with demi sauce. I never had bone marrow, however I met people who either liked it or choose not to try it, but this time I decided to try it. Who knew how soft and buttery bone marrow was?! The spicy peanut and tomato salad was very refreshing, however I wished it was a little bigger in size. The dressing was a peanut dressing, similar to a thai peanut dressing salad. The tuna pineapple ceviche had pineapple with tuna served with plantain chips. It was hot in Arizona and this dish kept it very refreshing to eat. For entrees, my family and I ordered the lemongrass half chicken, campfire seabass, ancho chili glazed pork chop, and the bone in ribeye. The lemon grass chicken was served with carrots and garlic mashed potatoes with jalapeno jam. The chicken was so juicy and you can taste the lemon grass marinated in the chicken. Again, jalapeno jam? What a genius! The campfire seabass was in this chorizo broth along with couscous and vegetables. I honestly can not review much regarding the campfire seabass because I didn't taste, but per my grandma she said it was really good haha! The ancho chili glazed pork chop was surprisingly not dry! I don't really eat pork chops, but our server recommended it and she did not disappoint! The bone in ribeye was delicious!! Super juicy and flavorful! It was served with baby potatoes, arugula, and chimichurri. Filthy animal is definitely a fun spot, the decor inside made the whole ambiance very intimate.

Great spicy kick and definitely the best thing I ate. Loved it. For dinner I ordered the lamb. I also really enjoyed this so much. The lamb was delicious (a bit unseasoned though). Also the garbanzo dish that came with it was unbelievably great! I was actually amazed that a side could be so good and I just wanted more of it. My husband ordered the seabass. Unfortunately it was underseasoned and way overcooked. The side wasn't great either. He ended up eating one of my lamb pieces. The vibe of the restaurant was great and the waiter was helpful and friendly. Will return if I ever want to brave the parking situation again ! Side note for the business: the door on your last bathroom stall was installed backwards. I struggled inside bc there was no hook for my purse or sweater when I went in there. After I was done precariously balancing all my things on my lap, I found the hook outside the door (I checked and the other doors were installed correctly). Probably should fix that bc it was very annoying for women that need access to their purse in the bathroom.
