What a beautiful scenic place to sit down on a beautiful day outdoors to enjoy delicious fresh ice cream. The parking lot is huge and wraps around the side of the large barn-like building. There is plenty of covered outdoor seating in the front and sides of the exterior. There is even a children play area connected to the parking lot on the side of the building with a playground. Inside was quite small compared to the outside, the line inside was moving pretty quickly. They offer a selection of shakes, cones, toppings, and even no sugar added flavors. Pretty cool spot for ice cream / dessert in MD. Came here following hike at Sugarloaf Mt and then Big Belly which is a minute drive down the road, with fam and dog. I initially wanted to get a sundae, but I hesitated as we didn't do much in terms of hike. So not enough calories burned. Instead I gotta cup of double scoop, Bubble Gum + Mint Chocolate Chip. Others got Coffee ice cream in cup, then Coconut and Mango Sorbet in cone, and Pup Cup for our dog. Apparently Sorbet was too sweet and it's better in cup than cone. Don't shoot the messenger, goes without saying. Everything was good and I liked my BG and Mint CC flavors. Though it was a guilty pleasure but it is what it is. They do have generous benches outside for seating. Our dog enjoyed the pup cup also. All in all, we would rate this 4/5 for the ice cream. After passing by this place for TEN YEARS on our way to/from wineries, I finally told my husband "pull over!" The customers and people working there were all SO friendly. The drive through definitely confused me walking in. Yes I'd had some wine (lol) but my husband had to tell me to get out of the drive through while walking from our parking spot to the entrance. There wasn't a crazy line despite lots of cars in the lot. I was able to try some samples and take my time deciding. I got 2 flavors in a cup. They were good but I couldn't finish them. None of the flavors were super decadent which was honestly a good thing but only one of the ones I saw looked like a standout. Although a bit of a drive from the DC beltway, this is an awesome ice cream spot to visit. It has a large amount of both indoor and outdoor seating. They have both soft and "hard" ice cream and several cone / cup options. They had about a dozen flavors to choose from. I had a double scoop of mocha and coffee oreo in a waffle cone. The ice cream is very creamy and not overly sweat. The coffee was not overwhelming but also not too hidden with just the right amount of oreo pieces. The mocha is a nice slightly chocolate flavor; a great combo of chocolate and coffee. The waffle cone is solid! It was not stale (a very important factor) and the very bottom tip wasn't open so no spillage thru the bottoms (also a very important factor). It had a nice overall flavor and made the whole thing great! Overall, I rank it very highly in the ice cream game and well worth the trip. read more

Came here because of the heat wave and it's a location on Marylands Best Ice Cream Trail and all I can say is wow. This ice cream was sooo creamy and delicious (after I had my waffle cone inside, I went back through the drive thru to get a second ice cream for the ride home). The prices are reasonable and the workers are really nice and patient. There's some really great flavors to choose from. Fresh ice cream after hiking at Sugarloaf?? I'm in. There's plenty of parking outside of Rocky Point Creamery, which looks like a barn and what you would think a local fresh creamery would look like. Lots of cows. Lots of fresh manure smells. They also sell steaks and a variety of dairy products here, too. ONE SCOOP - 4.50 When I go to ice cream shops, I like to try the flavors that are unique to the creamery. Most of the options here were pretty ordinary, like strawberry or cookies n' cream. But one flavor ended up catching my eye more than the others. Grape nuts. Grape nuts? Like... grape flavored ice cream (is that even a thing, it's not...) with nuts? Nope. Grape-Nuts is a type of cereal that's been around since late-1800s and I've never heard of it, lol. So imagine vanilla ice cream with granola like cereal. Very nutty, very interesting. The bits of cereal does get a bit stale in the end, but overall, pretty solid. I tried a bit of my friends' ice creams. I really enjoyed the strawberry and felt like it was a more prominent flavor that I don't normally see in other strawberry ice creams. There was a Java Nut flavor that was a hit or miss in our group. A couple people thought it tasted like herbal Chinese medicine. I personally thought the coffee flavor was fine, but didn't really like the nutty bits in them. They'll call you "hun" and "darlin", so it's the legit southern hospitality feeling. The texture of the ice cream is THICK. You can tell they churn it onsite because it's not watery or fluffed with air. As a result, you get super filling ice cream that's not hard on the wallet. They have shakes here as well but I recommend you go on an empty stomach if you want to try those. The ambience here is perfect for a farm/ice cream day. There's even a tractor out front to pose with if you have little ones with you. Once you're done here make your way up the road for fresh corn sold on the side of the road. read more

This is easily one of my all time favorite ice cream places. Its set up in a barn style building, with two cow benches out front that make for a great photo op. There is ample seating inside and out, and a party room off to the side. Outside also features a play area for the kids with a wood tractor and a combine slide. The ice cream is delicious. Very fresh and creamy ice cream. So many flavors! I tried their new cold brew float and that was strong with lots of caffeine. We asked for one scoop for each of our kids and thought that was the small size but I guess that is the medium size. Our kids enjoyed the ice cream and the place has a cute playground in the backside along with a few picnic tables scattered through the area. Lots of parking and the line for the ice cream moves fast. This was our first time here and there was a BBQ food truck parked out front. I'm so sad I missed the sunflowers. Getting some gorgeous bright flowers and creamy ice cream sounds like the perfect day. That said, it was busy without being crowded on the day I went there, I got a pumpkin pie milkshake that I assume wasn't on the summer menu, AND there were still some sunflowers left, so late in the season might be the way to go. There's a drive through if you're in a hurry, but sitting on the patio tables or walking around the flowers with an ice cream in hand is amazing if you're not. What really makes Rocky point stand out is the superb quality. The ice cream is super rich, creamy, thick and well balanced in sweetness. They have flavors that are always available on their menu but also rotate seasonal flavors that are amazing. My favorites are caramoo, pistachio, and espresso. The ice cream comes directly from the cows that live on the property which the creamery resides on and that's not many can claim. I frequent their Facebook page to check on the flavors of the week and to see what's going on in the life of rocky point creamery. They close for a couple of months during winter and we needed to stock up on the much needed wintery ice cream fix. They offered quarts and pints for to go orders.
