Garlic aioli on the side brought a tear to my eye. Best part is that we met some tubular folks who struck up a great conversation and even shared their pizza with us so we could try it, too. "Birds of a feather flock together!" and all that, but when the foods good, the atmosphere is good, the vibes are good, and other people are there, having a good time? This was the first time ever been to North Point Kitchen and I will definitely be back! Parking is across the street but don't let that deter you from coming to this fantastic restaurant. From the time I walked in, I was greeted by the hostess, who was very nice and same with the bartender Cary. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and is a great date place! There is some great views of the water too and this would be a great place in the summertime! The wedge salad was very good with their homemade dressing and same with the short rib pasta which was more than ample for two people. They only serve gelato, but the salted caramel gelato was hands down the best I've ever had! Cary made a fantastic French martini too! What also impressed me was the locals that were very friendly and made the evening even more enjoyable. If you are in the area, I would definitely stop by and have a fantastic meal, cocktail gelato like I did. This restaurant definitely earned their five stars! read more

A delightful lakeside restaurant! Our greatest desire was to sit on the back patio, enjoy the view and eat some great food. North Point Kitchen & Bar hit all of those marks! Our food was outstanding. We shared an assortment of appetizers (snacks). The Frutti Di Mare was excellent. We wished that the cannellini hummus came with more vegetables and less bread. It was hard to pick from the selection of craft cocktails, they all sounded exceptional. I went with the Moon Flower and it was delicious! Tito's, elderflower, violette, and lemon. Patio lived up to the hype from our last visit. While we didn't sit out there, we peaked out to see the lovely sunset. Food service was fine. They ran out of pizza, so we had to change our order. My husband said the burger bun dominated the bite, but the fries were perfectly crispy and salted. Beet and honey salad was very fresh, just a bit difficult to mix together in the bowl it was served in. Creaminess of the ricotta paired nicely with the salty pistachio. However, I was left wanting a bit more flavor contrast. We did not order drinks this time around. Loved it. My husband and I stopped by for a quick lunch. I got the burrata caprese salad and he got the Smashburger. We both enjoyed our meals, the service was super friendly, food came out quickly and the view right on the water was awesome. They've also got a nice big and recently paved parking lot. It ended up being about $50 for two meals and a beer, which felt a little expensive, so fair warning there. I'll also add, they have a very limited menu, and I don't love that they have a slot room, but otherwise this place seems really nice and I'd definitely come back. Seems like they may change their menu up a bit, so would be nice to come back and try something new (though I'd also be very happy to eat that same salad again - it was great!). read more

Went there for dinner on a Thursday evening with friends. Cute interior with nice views of the lake. Our server was a bit inattentive and didn't know if any of the seafood on the menu was fresh or frozen prior to cooking. She was nice enough, but quite slow despite the fact that the place was nowhere near full. My wife had a Gentleman's Old Fashioned, and she said that it was one of the better ones that she has had. Unfortunately, she also had an espresso martini, which she said was one of the worst that she ever had. I had the pistachio crusted tuna. It was fairly bland, and was clearly cooked first because it was room temperature even though the exterior was seared. It also lacked much flavor, which is not good for the most expensive thing on the menu. My wife had the salmon, and she likes salmon cooked well, and this was over cooked even for her. Overall, good and bad drinks, slow service, and sub-par food. Not worth the money. read more

My wife and I went during the winter time and so didn't get to take advantage of the outdoor seating by the lake. I can definitely see the location's appeal though and how beautiful it can be during the warmer seasons. For that reason, we may revisit later this year. When you first walk into the place, you see a video game/slot machine room tucked away to the side, with the bar and restaurant area and seating straight ahead. While I don't play slots, my usual gripe with places that have it is how dingy and unbecoming that area of the place looks. Surprisingly this area of North Point Kitchen was actually pretty well kept and didn't detract from overall professionalism of the place. It's still not my thing when it comes to restaurant vibe but to each his/her own. We ordered the Calabrian hot honey wings, a beets & burrata salad, and the North Point burger. Overall, I'd say the food was decent. I really appreciated how saucy the calabrian hot honey chicken was and that you could keep dipping the chicken back into the hot honey sauce to maximize the flavor. I upgraded to Parmesan fries with my north point burger and while at first was disappointed, eventually grew on me a bit and ended up being okay. The burger itself was good and what I wanted and expected out of a double smash patty. My wife said the beets & burrata salad was good...except for the chicken add-on. Not only was it $5 more but the chicken was very dry and was very disappointing. The $5 add-on though was in line with my other sentiment about the place being on the much pricier end. While not egregious, it did fall short of expectations because for comparable food and drinks, you can get more for less and at the same quality at other establishments. read more

My friend and I had dinner here this past week and had a lovely time. It gets quite busy during peak times so be prepared. Across the tiny road, you'll find a sufficient parking lot and once inside, they even have video game poker machines. If you want a seat by the window, overlooking the little lake, be sure to make a reservation. But even if you don't have a prime spot, you'll still catch some of the pretty views of the outdoor locale. Service was incredibly friendly, and they were pretty hands off when they saw our nonstop conversations - which we appreciated. We both liked the hot honey wings best, found the meatballs to be just okay (they sounded better on paper), and the Roman pizza was better the next day, lol! It had sausage, carmelized onions and a whole lot of garlic on the non-red sauce pizza - I liked it! I'll be back and I'm coming for the cheddar curd arancini next time! read more

Good, simple eats in Lake Zurich. The ambiance is very nice, from the forest-driven decor to the lake views. Our server was great, and kept giving us updates on our order which was nice. We had the deviled eggs to start, then the grilled cheese and hot chicken sandwiches. Everything was great. Expected the hot chicken to be spicier (it had the " hot " symbol on the menu), but it was still really good. The grilled cheese had a delicious pesto that was unique. I visited this place with my Burger Club recently. Before you look online, they have only one type of biurger available, and that is a double patty smash burger with white American cheese, garlic aioli, onions, and new pickles on a brioche bun. We went here because it was listed as a favorite burger place on social media and when you look up the restaurant on the web; their burger is the first picture that comes up. As I stated, we went recently and was told when we entered that their pizza oven wasn't working. That was a huge clue as to what is their main dish. It was a bummer as we would have ordered one as an appetizer to our burgers to try their main dish (and we'll have to return to try it). The burgers, however, were nothing to write home about. They're smash burgers and not very flavorful at that. Though as we sat there, many other patrons ordered the burger, so regulars must like it, but it was just okay. in our minds. We rate on a scale of 0 (lowest) to 5 (highest. From 6 of us, we collectively gave it a 3.50. It's okay, but... North Point Kitchen + Bar is a cute spot located off of Old McHenry Rd and has a nice view of Forest Lake. As far as we know, it's the only restaurant on the lake and has a docking area for boats to come in and grab a bite. They have some outdoor seating, and the view is pretty great. Sitting indoors, they have a big bay of windows overlooking the lake as well. There is a nice parking lot across from the restaurant too. There is plenty of seating and a nice bar and a room with video gambling if the mood strikes you. My recommendation is to visit and try the pizza or other items on their menu, but skip the smash burger. read more

I had been wanting to try North Point ever since I saw their opening facebook posts. I think with a few service tweaks, this place could be absolutely amazing. For food, I didn't have any expectations, but we LOVED everything we had. the portions were huge, so if you think the prices are a little high, it's well worth it. They also come up with new dishes to rotate on to the menu, so check their facebook page to make sure your favorite wasn't seasonal. The service was admittedly slow. I know they're newer and it seemed like the staff genuinely cared about making up for the longer wait times we experienced at the beginning of the meal. I was also excited that they have slot machines off to the side of the bar. To me, that's a definite plus. I truly cannot wait to come back and see the patio set up in the warmer weather. read more

Just opened a couple of weeks ago. So excited for this hot new local restaurant in the Forest Lake neighborhood of Lake Zurich locally owned. The chefs is amazing, the best deviled eggs I have ever had at a Restaurant. The chicken hot honey wings were very crispy and fresh. I can taste the herbs on the Parmesan herb fries and they make a really good personal pizza. All the food was great to share and the view of the lake is phenomenal. I'm so excited for when we can enjoy their outdoor seating. The only thing I would recommend is adding some area rugs or something to buffer because any sound was amplified and it was very loud, when there was not a lot of people. It's because of all hardwood floors and bare walls. I look forward to coming back and see more menu items and specials added. read more

The location on the lake is beautiful -- especially on a snowy day, and our waiter was attentive and friendly. We went on a lunch date and ordered the Paloma Thyme + the Praline Manhattan cocktails and both enjoyed them. Absolutely terrible terrible service from this place. Been waiting a while to check this joint out, as soon as I walked in the door the hostess ruined it. Would not recommend coming here because of how impolite they were from the get go plus.. I couldn't even sit down because when I showed up at 3:20 she told me the kitchen was closed. She then when I asked about grabbing a drink she proceeded to tell me that the bar was closing in 10 minutes and if I really wanted to I could sit 10 mins... like how insane when they don't close until 4pm and no restaurant I've ever been to closes their bar let alone kitchen 40 minutes before they close the actual restaurant. I've stopped for a burger a couple of times and ate dinner there on 11/06/24. I was seated promptly and perfunctorily. I could have used a friendly greeting, but didn't really expect it. I was about 15 minutes early for the dinner menu and decided to wait a bit, and have a drink, before ordering. I had the cocktail "special" which wasn't bad. My order was taken fairly promptly (I ordered squid ink linguini with calamari). It was a bit over $30 and edible - but not really very good. The perfect rectangular pieces of squid appeared to be the flaked and formed kind that are sold frozen in a box. For the price, I would have expected actual fried calamari. Also, for the price, I would have expected a bit more calamari. I thought the portion was a bit stingy. There is no bread or any sides. Just a bowl of slightly gloppy linguini topped with some calamari. Once the meal was on the table, my server disappeared. She didn't return and ask if I needed anything. There are no salt or pepper shakers on any of the tables and, frankly, I thought the meal needed some parmesan, as well. My meal was getting cold by the time I managed to flag someone over to ask for parmesan. It WAS NOT of the freshly grated variety. I got a little cup of something that looked like it came from a can. I will probably return, as this is my neighborhood's only restaurant. I will stick with the burger from now on. I rated 3 stars only because the burgers I've had ($18) were pretty good. We were politely told that they don't offer any cheese options, no mushrooms, no anything else. Since there are no options of any kind, it was easy to order. The fries were excellent. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and they were not greasy. And the diet cola had bubbles in it which is great compared to several other places I have been recently.
