Great place! My mom and I have been taking day trips around the Chicago area, and Corked was on our itinerary. It did not disappoint! We happened to visit during the Strawberry Festival, so it was busier than usual, but the staff was friendly, efficient, and provided excellent service throughout. While waiting for our table, we relaxed in the Adirondack chairs on the lawn and enjoyed refreshing Dutch 75 craft cocktails. The burrata with fresh basil, tomatoes, red pesto, and balsamic was delicious, especially with a side of sourdough bread. The salmon mango tower was light, fresh, and perfect for summer. Our favorite was the Chicken Tinga panini with creamy avocado and spicy sauces that really elevated the sandwich. We finished with a glass of Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc and rich, creamy chocolate mousse topped with Marcona almonds. It was a wonderful evening from start to finish. Decent date night stop. We visited on a Saturday evening with a group of 6 - had a few different places we could sit. The staff was prompt and welcoming upon arrival. Corked has an extensive wine list as well as a great cocktail selection. We tried to order some snacks along with another drink and that order got completely missed/forgotten by our wait staff. This happened twice as our evening progressed. The cocktails and dessert that were delivered were excellent. Definitely would try to visit again to be able to enjoy the lawn and fire pits. read more

Corked is an interesting wine bar and restaurant. My manager made a reservation here for our team to end out the year after a two day regional meeting. As this was just down the street from our office in the Kemper Business District, she thought this would be a cool place to hang out to recap the year for our department and she was right. The place itself is a cute house with what looks like a cool outdoor space, when the weather is nicer. Inside is a small bar when you first walk through the front door. We we seated in a small room off from the main bar, next to a lovely fireplace. We started out with charcuterie boards. Prices range from 4 pieces for $30, 6 pieces for $46 and 8 pieces for $58. The selection of meats and cheeses and were very nice, but the prices seemed steep. The cheeses and meats were as follows: Wooley Rind (Green Dirt Farm) - soft ripened sheep's milk MontAmore (Sartori) - semi firm Italian style Cheddar Goat Gouda (Central Coast Creamery) - crumbly aged goat cheese "Creamy Sexy Blue" - German triple cream cow's milk with blue veining Jamon Serrano, aged 24 months Stagberry - Elk Salami with dried blueberries Finocchiona - Tuscan style salami with fennel seed Pig & Fig Terrine - Country style pork pate with dried figs, cinnamon, ginger All were very good and had a lovely flavor. Due to the number of people nibbling, I asked for extra bread and was treated with toasted sourdough, which was very nice. For dinner, I got the Chicken Tinga Panini (Tomato-Chipotle Chicken, Queso Oaxaca, Arugula, served with Salsa Verde & Guacamole). This was a very good sandwich. I loved the idea of Chicken Tinga in a sandwich format, and it worked. I had saved half of it to take home to have for breakfast the next day, but got wrapped up in good-byes and walked out and left it. Man I was mad! My manager ordered the Roasted Beets (with whipped Feta cheese, toasted pistachios, red onion, dill and a red wine vinaigrette). The serving was huge! She loves beets and said that the dish was very good A few people got the Broccoli Cheddar soup and said it was very good. I wanted to try the oysters as I love East Coast ones, but at $20 for 6, couldn't wrap my mind around that. The wine list was pretty good and on this particular night, we got bottles for a crazy low price. My manager got a bottle of red (can't remember the name) that was $75, but she got it for half price. Same for me for a lovely bottle of sparkling rose. The hostess had a list of wines on her tablet that she showed us as well that were 50% off. The location is quite a drive from Chicago, but the times I have to go to Lake Zurich for team meetings, I may just stop in to camp out for eats and drinks while waiting for my Uber and rush hour traffic to die out. read more

I come from the city, and when I ventured out to the suburbs, I wasn't expecting to find such top-notch food. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent quality of the panini I ordered. We came here for the first time this past weekend after numerous recommendations. We have a little newborn 7 weeks, they were accommodating and so nice. We ordered Espresso Martinis, the Dutch 75, had some wine and some beers and they were all very delicious! What an adorable little gem in the middle of historic downtown Long Grove! I had Corked on my list of establishments to visit prior to the pandemic, and finally made it on a Thursday evening. It was a little chilly, but I had brought a blanket and the outdoor space had plenty of space heaters to keep us toasty. They also have a few "igloos" you can reserve. My friend and I only had wine, but there are plenty of shareables and dishes that looked quite yummy on their menu! Our server Kate was very friendly and attentive. This is such a cute place! They have outdoor seating with swings which is so on trend. My friend and I went there to celebrate our birthday and we had great service from our server. We were definitely being extra by asking everyone take our pictures but it was such a cute place we couldn't pass up the opportunity for some cute photos. We ordered the Mussels in Escabeche, Wagyu Burger and a bottle of the Cabernet to share. The mussels in the aioli sauce and the toast was amazing. It was served in a sardine can which we didn't expect but something different. The burger was good but I think it should have been served with fries instead of kettle chips. I wished I remembered what wine we ordered because we each end up order another glass each before we ended the night. This is my new favorite spot in the north Chicago suburbs to get wine and enjoy the cool fall weather. Wine selection is well crafted and the variety is amazing. I'm a huge port fan and sometimes it is not served in many places but Corked has great ports. The winery is tucked back on a deep lot with grass and outdoor seating, many places to park and it's very peaceful and quiet. Three people ordered the "chocolate" old fashioned (only thing chocolate about it was they dropped a chocolate covered cherry into the drink), one a pinot, and two sangria (which had one slice of orange and lime). A beautiful, cozy restaurant with a few different rooms offering different vibes and their own parking area to boot! No reservations were needed (we called ahead to ask) and when you walk in, you can take any open table in the restaurant. When we walked in, it wasn't too busy so I'm not sure what happens when that place is really buzzing (pun intended!). One of the rooms has a fireplace and I wish we had seen that when we walked in because the night we were there, it was cold and that fireplace would have been delightful. After dinner I wandered around a bit because I was curious to see what the rest of the place looked like. As you might expect, the wine selection is almost without compare. The sheer number of choices was amazing. Yes, the menu is a little bit limited as they do focus mainly on their wine but what was on offer was perfect for an experience where maybe the wine takes center stage instead of the food. The charcuterie board was perfect for the kind of mood we were in - not too heavy, good variety and well plated. Dessert was wonderful as well. We went Saturday and encountered a very rude manager we were seated by staff with our two dogs on the outside patio in the corner. The manager came out and told us we had to move to the grass area with the dogs. When we told her that the staff seated us in the corner with the dogs she rudely told us they don't make the rules she does. We went late Saturday afternoon to check out the new addition to Historic Long Grove, Corked Wine Bar. What a fantastic experience! It was a lovely afternoon, and we were able to enjoy their outdoor patio, which has tables/chairs/umbrellas all spaced out to accommodate social distancing. A peek inside showed a cozy interior space that will be perfect for cooler weather. As for the wines - well, you came to the right place for both selection and quality! The owners are clearly passionate about wine, and it shows in their selections. As this was the opening weekend for Corked, the owners were on hand to give recommendations, and help you find your perfect glass or bottle! I believe they will also be serving a selection of food in the future, so it will be great to see what they choose to complement their wines. I have been attending virtual wine tastings at Corked since late April and can't say enough about this place. I have yet to try a wine that I didn't like and best of all I have tried wines that I might not otherwise have been exposed to. The virtual wine tastings have me an insight as to the true purpose of this establishment: The owners want to bring the feeling of the wine country experience to Long Grove and the surrounding communities. I was able to learn from three different wine makers how each does something unique to its wine, yet quality was a main ingredient to each vineyard's success. I believe this to be the mission at Corked. Quality wines are being offered by people who truly love to share some of their personal favorites. The atmosphere is relaxing and inviting with a large patio, a lawn seating area, and what looks to be a very welcoming and comfortable indoor space that will be available once Covid-19 restrictions are lifted. While they are not yet serving food, I have been told that upon official opening, they will be offering about a dozen small plate options to complement the wine selection. This is a family-run establishment that has the makings of a winner in downtown Long Grove. My wife and I went there for a Sunday afternoon, but it looks like an evening under the lights would be equally pleasant. I can't wait until this place has the green light to offer everything it has planned this summer. I can see this as a great option for date nights, after work socializing or even a family meet up spot on a casual afternoon like the one we just had on Sunday. Was there the first time. We were a little group of people. The first impression is "quaint, cute, a little different." We got a great seat and our server was very nice and attentive from the get go. We ordered a lot of food, probably half of all available appetizers and several entrées. Everything was delicious, the Wagu Steaks( great price too) and the charcuterie plate were certainly the highlights. We tried several wines and all were worth the money. They even got some nice booze ! So why not 5 stars? Just because the noise level in the small room was very high. There were another 2 groups in the room and the decibel count certainly went up. I couldn't even hear my friend across the table. I suggest they should think about window treatments or such to reduce the echoing in the room. Anyways, we will be back.
