Corked is an interesting wine bar and restaurant. My manager made a reservation here for our team to end out the year after a two day regional meeting. As this was just down the street from our office in the Kemper Business District, she thought this would be a cool place to hang out to recap the year for our department and she was right. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place itself is a cute house with what looks like a cool outdoor space, when the weather is nicer.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside is a small bar when you first walk through the front door. We we seated in a small room off from the main bar, next to a lovely fireplace.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We started out with charcuterie boards. Prices range from 4 pieces for $30, 6 pieces for $46 and 8 pieces for $58. The selection of meats and cheeses and were very nice, but the prices seemed steep. The cheeses and meats were as follows: Wooley Rind (Green Dirt Farm) - soft ripened sheep's milk MontAmore (Sartori) - semi firm Italian style Cheddar Goat Gouda (Central Coast Creamery) - crumbly aged goat cheese "Creamy Sexy Blue" - German triple cream cow's milk with blue veining Jamon Serrano, aged 24 months Stagberry - Elk Salami with dried blueberries Finocchiona - Tuscan style salami with fennel seed Pig & Fig Terrine - Country style pork pate with dried figs, cinnamon, ginger All were very good and had a lovely flavor. Due to the number of people nibbling, I asked for extra bread and was treated with toasted sourdough, which was very nice. For dinner, I got the Chicken Tinga Panini (Tomato-Chipotle Chicken, Queso Oaxaca, Arugula, served with Salsa Verde & Guacamole). This was a very good sandwich. I loved the idea of Chicken Tinga in a sandwich format, and it worked. I had saved half of it to take home to have for breakfast the next day, but got wrapped up in good-byes and walked out and left it. Man I was mad! My manager ordered the Roasted Beets (with whipped Feta cheese, toasted pistachios, red onion, dill and a red wine vinaigrette). The serving was huge! She loves beets and said that the dish was very good A few people got the Broccoli Cheddar soup and said it was very good. I wanted to try the oysters as I love East Coast ones, but at $20 for 6, couldn't wrap my mind around that. The wine list was pretty good and on this particular night, we got bottles for a crazy low price. My manager got a bottle of red (can't remember the name) that was $75, but she got it for half price. Same for me for a lovely bottle of sparkling rose. The hostess had a list of wines on her tablet that she showed us as well that were 50% off. The location is quite a drive from Chicago, but the times I have to go to Lake Zurich for team meetings, I may just stop in to camp out for eats and drinks while waiting for my Uber and rush hour traffic to die out.

Loved this place! Everything was so good. Service was incredibly personable and efficient. They have many wine, cocktail, liquor & beer options. Their food is also super good too. Spectacular give me 14 of them right now. In all seriousness, this place had really tasty food . I come from the city, and when I ventured out to the suburbs, I wasn't expecting to find such top-notch food. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent quality of the panini I ordered. I visited the restaurant with two friends, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The food was served hot, fresh, and impeccably seasoned. Our waiter, who had blondish hair (although I can't recall his name), was incredibly friendly and provided us with excellent service.

A really cute spot in Long Grove! I was seated outside. There were a lot of tables available and different types of seating. We ordered the ham panini and burrata to share. The ham panini was delicious! The panini was made a bit differently. Honey and salt sprinkled on top of the panini! I loved the extensive list of wine! I got the white wine, Rain. It was light and refreshing! The service was excellent! A fun place to visit during the summer!

Love this cute wine bar! The building looks like someone's house with a fabulous patio. We sat inside near the fireplace. That room was such a mood, I loved it! Dark, cozy, & romantic. The service was super attentive & great! I had their house Sangria and the Burrata. Sangria was a red wine, well balanced, and not too sweet- perfect! Burrata was creamy on a bed of sweet tomato sauce served & topped with chiffonade basil. Spread this over some toasted sourdough bread? Yessssssss. Loved this place. Would absolutely come back!

What an adorable little gem in the middle of historic downtown Long Grove! I had Corked on my list of establishments to visit prior to the pandemic, and finally made it on a Thursday evening. It was a little chilly, but I had brought a blanket and the outdoor space had plenty of space heaters to keep us toasty. They also have a few "igloos" you can reserve. My friend and I only had wine, but there are plenty of shareables and dishes that looked quite yummy on their menu! Our server Kate was very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend if you're looking to still socialize outdoors even in the cold. I've heard that this place has been packed on the weekends, so make sure to make a reservation in advance!

What a lovely patio experience and the grass area is dog friendly! We sat out on the grass and enjoyed live music, when the rain came the music kept playing and we swiftly moved to under the umbrella patio table and service continued, that deserves all of the stars! Wine by the glass was priced as expected and charcuterie plate was filling for 2. We really enjoyed our time and have been back a few times since.

Must try while in Long Grove! I was impressed with with the atmosphere both indoor and outdoor. Perfect spot for a date night or a catch up session with a friend! They didn't offer wine flights, but they offered to split pours between the two of us so we ended up getting to try 3 each! That's the way to do it and of course customize your own charcuterie board! Super friendly staff also makes you want to come back very soon!

Had an Italian red & French rose. We liked the Burrata app along with the Hummus app. Bread, pita & veggies were all freshly prepared. Great service provided by Michael

A few days ago my wife and I stopped by for some drinks and light appetizers. The food was delicious and the wine and cocktail selection was like no other. The staff there were so personable and made you feel like they really cared. Would definitely recommend going here with your friends or family!

Fussy - on a day when many tables were available, only willing to part with one particular table. Enjoyed our wine elsewhere.

The first tricky part is finding the entrance because it's not really obvious as expected in long grove There's no real signs. Further, the next tricky piece is finding parking if you can get it on the street or find it in the lot now luckily both are free. Once I managed to find a door to the place, it turned out to be the back door and so I had to climb up a bunch of stairs in order to get to the front part of the restaurant to actually check in for the reservation. And yes, please make a reservation. This place does get packed even for early times. The service was really friendly and very nice however, I will say overall the food was OK but nothing really standoffish. For example, if you look at the pictures of the food quite bluntly it just looks like they slapped food onto a plate. There's really no thought that's been put into the presentation. There's really been no thought also to just the pure amounts of cheese and sauce that are also creating a swimming pool on the plate. We ordered the grilled octopus for appetizer and even that was swimming in olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette and too much of everything I think the food is OK but nothing fantastic. Considering the overly saturated Chicagoland market of Italian restaurants I wouldn't necessarily say this was at the top of my list.

Feather Glass Wine Bar & Eatery - Vernon Hills, IL…read more Overall Rating: Highly Recommended Feather Glass is a fantastic spot that nails the wine bar experience with a beautiful, modern aesthetic and top-tier service. While the food is incredibly tasty, a few minor tweaks to the composition and seasoning of certain dishes would make the experience truly flawless. The Highlights: Drinks, Ambience, & Service * The Flights: We thoroughly enjoyed both the wine and mimosa flights. They are well-curated, beautifully presented, and a great way to sample their extensive selection. * Atmosphere: The ambience is excellent and sophisticated, making it one of the most visually appealing spots in Vernon Hills. * Service: The staff provides excellent service--attentive and professional throughout the entire meal. Food Feedback & Suggestions * Mediterranean Flatbread: Very flavorful, but the olives can make it quite salty. Adding a balsamic glaze would provide a sweet contrast to balance out the saltiness. * Beet Salad: Features fresh, high-quality ingredients. This dish would benefit from a touch more salt and a bit more acid (like a bright vinegar) in the dressing to really highlight the earthy beets. * Paneer Palak Bites: A delicious fusion idea, but the execution was slightly misleading and difficult to eat. The bread lacked the expected toasted crispiness, and because the paneer is served in a thin slice, it often slides off, leaving the sauce on the plate. * Suggestion: Try chopping the paneer into small cubes, bruschetta-style, and mixing them directly with the sauce. Layering that mixture onto a properly toasted baguette would create a much more stable and crunchy bite while keeping the great texture of the cheese. Final Verdict Despite these small suggestions, this is a great restaurant that you should definitely check out. The flavors are delicious and the overall experience is wonderful.
