I was in the mood for a steak, and thought I'd give this place a try. I seated myself in the bar area, and even though they weren't very busy, it seemed to take a while for someone to come over. I started with iced tea, which was a bit on the weak side, but drinkable. I ordered the rib eye steak with cajun spice, and fries. The steak was done correctly and was tasty. The cajun spice was a touch salty, but still was okay. The fries were good, no complaints there. Overall, it was a good meal, service a little slow. Ordered the pork chop with mac & cheese and coleslaw on Sunday, was supposed to be 15oz and bone in, but what I got was smaller and no bone (waitress said 14oz, cited COVID changes - menu a year out of date?). The sides were very good, but not even A1 could save the chops. Very dry. The service was pretty good while eating, food took a while but there were 16 of us, so that's normal. Waitress seemed good, then she appeared out of nowhere as I was telling a friend my food was dry (he asked, I answered politely), so I apologized and said I didn't see her. She had a look but acted fine. Then she went to the registers behind the second table my group had and started cussing and talking crap about my table. We're bikers and my group is the type that is polite to a fault and tips 40-100% on everything; no ma'am, yes ma'am, thank you ma'am, please, etc. We don't complain or get loud. I was also the one who not only asked how she was doing at the start, but I caught her frustration and gave her a chance to vent about being shorthanded and vey busy that day - it was friendly and light. How she then went on her quiet little rant full of f-bombs over a table she had to sneak up on to hear anything negative is beyond me. Totally unacceptable. Will not be back. Server was Tasha at 15:05 on 3/7/21, ticket #20016. Tipped $10 on a $20.30 ticket before knowing what was said, because that food didn't deserve a tip - normally tip $20 for that bill. read more

We love this little gem! Their food and drink selection is great and the wait staff is very professional and friendly. On our first trip, the waitress suggested the Bacon-wrapped Jalapeño Poppers and we are so glad she did! Yummmm! We even took our in-laws while they were out to visit and they loved it too! Wow. Just stopping on my way to Oklahoma and happened to find an amazing restaurant. Food was incredible. The chicken fried steak was so tender I didn't need a fork! How often do you see that? The atmosphere is cowboy chic with plenty of animal heads on the wall, so if that kind of thing offends you skip this place. Friendly staff and affordable prices. We've come in several times, and while the food is good, the service is not. We've tried again and again. Rarely is our drinks refilled. Most of the time, they take our orders, bring food and forget about us until the check comes. My husband likes to order all you can eat catfish on Sundays but you can't get anyone to come to get him more fish. Yesterday was probably the last time. She DID stop and ask if he would like more fish, and he said yes, the much later asked if he ever got it. I never got a drink refill once. And it's like this each time. I'm generally patient with servers, their job isn't easy and they have a lot going on, but it shouldn't be like this every time you go. read more

We visited this restaurant on an 8/12 Friday night around 7pm-ish, so I wasn't sure how it would go for a first impression. It was our 21st Wedding Anniversary and enjoying a stay out of town. When we arrived, there were two hostesses at the station. We walk in and stand for a bit. One hostess appears very disengaged and not wanting to be there...the other turns toward us, waits a moment, and then asks if we'd like a table. We said yes and puzzled as if we were missing something. So we were ushered to a table. Not feeling too good so far, the waitress comes over, very smiley and friendly..and remained so through the rest of our visit. Feeling better about this. We place our order. We ordered the rib-eye, mac/cheese, wild rice, and garlic mashed potato combo. It arrived moments later and the waitress has separated it out for us into two different portions. We mentioned were were going to share and she went above and beyond to do this automagically for us. Score. The food. Man, this was the best part. The ribe-ye was cooked exactly to our preference, great smokey taste ad flavor. The mac and cheese looked plain but once we took a taste, it was WOW....very good. The rice was perfect as well. The garlic mashed potatoes were ok...needed more butter. Bottomline: Initial impression from the host station almost made us leave, but once we go to the table, it went from 1 star to 4. Meh...Ordered the Reuben sandwich and what meat that was in it was very fatty and I had to chew for several minutes on each bite. I could only eat one half which is sad because it was so small. 10 minutes later my stomach was on the fence if it was going to keep or send it back. If a restaurant can not make a decent Rueben it speaks volumes to me...smh Wife had the Ribeye and said it was ok kind of bland and had to salt it, also the server ask if she needed A-1 sauce. If your a seasoned steak eater you know a good steak never needs a sauce to help get it down. She said my steaks are much much better at half the cost. Awful food. None of our dishes we ordered had any taste to them. It tasted like the food was washed after it was cooked. Everything was bland. Also, every dish we ordered was cold. How is it even possible to mess up cooking french fries??? Their french fries were terrible. The jumbo shrimp are not jumbo. We went to this restaurant this past weekend based on the reviews here in yelp. Our first impression was their very tattered flags outside. We find it rather disrespectful to fly tattered flags. The waitress was good and made the food sound really tasty. My mom ordered the fried catfish, on the waitress's description of a big thick very lightly breaded piece of fish, not what you normally get at other restaurants. My dad ordered a hamburger based on her recommendation, with mayonnaise and no tomato or mustard with hand cut french fries. I ordered the chicken strips with their house seasoning mixed into the batter (also by her recommendation) with the macaroni and cheese that someone had said in their review was wonderful spirals. After waiting a seemingly long time we received our food. Mom's catfish was thin breaded strips. Her squash medly was thin cut overcooked zucchini and yellow squash. My plate had mashed potatoes instead of macaroni and cheese. I decided to try them and they were cold, so I asked her for the macaroni which was tasteless and dry with very little "sauce". The chicken tenders were overcooked, dry, and severely underseasoned, especially since I had asked them to add their house "monterrey style" seasoning to the batter. Also, they did not remove the tendons from the tenderloins, which I personally have an aversion for. They are so easy to remove, I never understand when restaurants skip it. My dad's hamburger was overcooked and dry, on a limp, squashed bun, with mustard and no mayonnaise. His fries were greasy and undercooked. None of us ate very much and we stopped at Chili's a couple of hours later. But our server was very kind and good at talking up the food! Very quick to fix the mistakes the kitchen had made with the food. read more

This is my dad's favorite spot. They have weekday specials for 6 bucks. I highly recommend the chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes. You cant beat that for six bucks. On Saturdays they usually have the Rig Burger and fries for 5 bucks. I have never been able to go on a Wednesday but my dad raves about their Wednesday Enchilada Special. They have great tea and really nice servers. Also quite possibly the most comfortable chairs you will find in a restaurant. read more

We had originally decided on Cotton Patch but waiting list was long. Saw the North Rig Grill next door so went there. Upon entering notice a stuffed leopard on a tree limb. I almost walked out but was with a friend so went ahead and stayed. The owner of this place must be a Big Game Trophy Hunter. I did not enjoy my meal because I was so upset that the leopard had been killed to entertain someones sick desire to have a trophy. There were a lot more trophy's in other areas of the place. I will never go here again. Also, The waitress was not wearing a mask. I can't tell you how the food was because the site of that leopard left a bad taste in my mouth.
