SAFETY IS NOT A CONCERN TO THE MANAGEMENT OR STAFF: The staff has no level of care when it comes to handling customers. From the beginning of the purchase process of my vehicle from North Shore I was treated with disrespect. Jason was incredibly kind, but not able to help without assistance from a manager. Boris was rude time and time again. I ended up purchasing because there was a vehicle I was interested in, so much so I was able to overlook the incompetent and rude salesmen. My mistake! After purchase and delivery (a day later than promised) I have had to bring the car into the manufacturer 3 times. The car left the North Shore Auto Mall after "being inspected by their mechanics" and was deemed by them as safe on the road. I brought the car to the manufacturer and it did not pass a safety inspection. NORTH SHORE AUTO MALL LACKS KNOWLEDGE AND IS NEGLIGENT! Never would I have expected the car to be unsafe to drive after being assured from the manager, Kevin, the dealership's mechanics had looked over it. To think I have been driving an unsafe vehicle for months is beyond concerning. I scheduled an appointment to have the vehicle inspected by the manufacturer, but due to their schedule was not able to get the car in until today. North Shore's mechanics suggested there might have been some issues with the front suspension after they had inspected the vehicle. They did not feel it necessary to address these issues before release of the vehicle, and suggested I follow up with the manufacturer after I picked up the vehicle. Perhaps if they had brought the car to the manufacturer to see that there was no issues before they sold the vehicle this all would have been avoided. Turns out the issues are in the rear end. Seems like a major detail to have confused. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone, as safety is not something that is a concern to them. I should have listened to the previous reviews, but decided not to. Saw the car that I wanted on the lot and took it for a test drive. Everything was ok with the car I had my own financing and then got a great deal from Boris and the manager that was cheaper then the Carvana car I had just ordered of the same type. It was a very easy smooth purchase. They even offered to see if I could get a lower rate from one of their banks. I was driving by NS Auto Mall on a Tuesday, saw a car that caught my eye, pulled a U turn and looked at it. Boris was the sales person who assisted me and we took it for a ride. He couldn't have been more professional. I bought the car, picking it up on a Thursday. Boris made the whole experience so easy. I was a young kid who just moved to the area..I was vulnerable and didn't have many options for buying, and they totally took advantage of that. Sold me a car with tons of problems. And after I signed the paperwork, they ended up charging me 1500 more that the price that was online (my fault for not noticing that, I know). North Shore Auto Mall - Our new car thanks to Dave! - Car Dealers Near Me - Lynn, Massachusetts

I kind of chuckled at seeing an average of three stars for this dealership, because that's what I was going give them for my review before I saw the reviews themselves. The good: Boris and staff were very helpful, knowledgeable, and efficient. They were able to get me the car I wanted fairly quickly. Things went smoothly. The bad: there were several things wrong with the car which I didn't know about before purchasing, one of them pretty major - the heat wasn't working. This is pretty bad when it's wintertime and freezing. No heat means you are cold and the windows fog up easily which is a huge safety issue. Had to wipe condensation off the window with my a paper towel, something you don't want to do when driving. Smaller issues were the headlight switch didn't work (headlights did work, they must work upon sale), the tire pressure sensor was inactive, and one of the cup holders was jammed. The rear left passenger door's lock was also nonfunctional (wouldn't unlock) and a broken part of a key was (still is) jammed inside the driver's side door. None of this was brought to my attention before purchase of the car. Minus one star. It looks like they did the bare minimum to the car so it would pass inspection, but nothing else. I contacted the dealership twice about the issues. They never responded. This is not good. Minus another star. Followup means referrals! Fortunately, I'm a DIY guy so was able to fix most of it myself for a fraction of the time and cost a dealership would require. Pretty satisfying feeling. As an aside, they gave me a car with less than 1/8th a tank of gas, which was more of an annoyance, but not a deal breaker. No star taken away, but come on, fellas, don't be cheap. Wow your customers. In any case, if you are buying a used car from NSAM (or any used dealership, really), make sure you thoroughly inspect the car, ask about lit symbols on the dash, inquire what outstanding issues the used car currently has before you purchase. Test the windows, radio, all of the buttons across the whole dash. Test the trunk and hood releases, inspect the wheels, see what kind of corrosion (if any) there is in the engine bay. Ask when the car last it's oil changed or had a tuneup. Ask for a test drive. If they don't allow it, walk away. If there any considerable repairs to be made (such as the heating in my instance), get it in writing that they will fix it without any additional charge. It will get your expectations set in the right direction and you will be less likely to be surprised. Used cars usually aren't in perfect shape, so do your homework. All in all, I'm happy with the car - love my BMW E90. I'm just not wowed by the lack of disclosure and followup. read more

I am not entirely upset but i am disappointed. I thought these guys were going to perform great and they dropped the ball at the 1 yard line. I was told i would get my car on a certain date and i planned to pick it up and take my new toy for a ride. This is not at all what happened. Now, after signing all the paperwork and doing everything on my end, they tell me the car will be ready as soon as they can. Bought a 2006 Ram 1500 from North Shore Automall back in spring 2014 with 90k miles. 2 years and 30,000+ miles later the truck is still running strong, with only minor fixes such as light bulbs and replaced an o2 sensor which is reasonable for the mileage. Not sure if I will be trading in the truck anytime soon. But when the time comes, I will definitely check out what North Shore Automall has to offer. read more

Once inside, I noticed the showroom was spotless, which is just how I found the cars that I test drove to be. My salesman, Jason, was pleasant and very knowledgeable about the car in which I was most interested. The General Manager, David, was very personable and professional. He took care of the financing and paperwork for me and made the whole process painless. They made sure I had everything I needed and that I was very comfortable with my new car's features and how it operated before I drove away. I bought a used car from Auto Mall and I was partially fulfilled. The fact that they sold me the car and it had a mechanical issue with the keyless remote not connecting with the vehicle was very inconvenient. Mind you, I live over an hour away and when I called services and he was great with me. Kevin knew about all these issues! He's a messed up person and I hope he does get shut down for being so grimes. Clearly doesn't know how to run a dealer! It's all about reputation and referrals guy, use that tip! Smh! In addition when I went for the key remote to get fixed I mentioned the fact that the bumper was lose and there were some quite exposed scratches on the bumper that they also knew about prior to selling the vehicle!!!! They then stated that the deal was already made and they don't do any cosmetic work in vehicles including paint and that they would have to outsource it! It boggles my mind how they can't help customers after the fact because at the end of the day they're just like every other dealer and want their cut and their commission! It's aggravating and I will never be going to them again! When and if looking at a car here make sure to look at every corner because they're quick to screw toy up the ying yang when car has been sold to you! It was bs and very inconvenient!!! Normally you have seven days to inspect your vehicle right? Well I had to call them on the 7th day to ask if my registration had been sent to them and they said yes I told them I needed that in order to inspect my car, they faxed it over to me and it was dated the date of my purchase which was 7 days prior! Overall, I had a pleasant + helpful buying experience buying from Northshore. David and Jason were both courteous and accomodating. I would recommend taking note of the smaller things if I owned / managed the dealership. For instance, I pulled-out of the dealer with no gas in the vehicle I purchased, one of the sales reps recommended I Uber to drop-off my rental just a couple of miles away rather than offering a ride, etc. Not a huge deal, but small gestures make for return business. Where do I begin? Just do yourself a favor...stop reading this review and shop anywhere else. Anyway, here goes my first and last encounter with North Shore Auto Mall: My husband and I were test driving different used SUVs when I finally came across a Lexus R350 online that I liked. We drove it and I really liked it, but asked if there was anything else on the lot we should look at. He directed us over to a Mercedes R350 and we drove it and I instantly fell in love. I noticed the window switch on the drivers door was missing a rear window button. We were assured that the entire vehicle would be looked over and like new if we purchased it. I was also told that by law the brakes had to be at 75%, etc, etc, etc. We went inside and began the purchase process. He told us they needed $1000 down payment, it seemed a little steep, but we obliged. Side Note: look out for the $399 doc fee that North Shore Auto Mall charges. (Massachusetts is one of the few states that does not have a cap on doc fees. NH caps it's fee at $27, NY at $75.) The next day we went to pick up the car with a bank check. We were told that we could do all the final paperwork and pay but that the car wasn't ready yet because they came across some under carriage damage and that they were waiting on a replacement pan. We were also told that they would be putting on brand new tires and that it would be ready the next day. Lie #1: The next day turned into a week. When we finally went to pick up the car a week later, I noticed that the headlight indicator on the panel was on. We had to wait for that to be fixed but it was done after about 20 minutes. So much for the thorough inspection. As we were driving home I noticed that the window panel switch that we were promised would be fixed was not. We were told that be it was a mistake made by the salesman and he should have never told us that it would be replaced. Lie #2: The back window is not functional because the child lock button is stuck down on the switch. Now on to Lie #3: A week after picking up the car my friend was driving behind me and told me that my car was lopsided. I took a look and noticed that the front right tire was low and missing the cap. I checked the air pressure and the front right tire was at 28 psi and the back tire was at 46 psi. The max tire pressure is 38 psi. I fixed the tire pressure and went on my way thinking I solved the problem. Well I was wrong and a month later the brake light came on. I took it back to North Shore Auto Mall where they told me "no problem, we will take care of it". I was told to go out back and make an appointment with the service guy. I made the appointment. Lie #4: The car sat there for a week! After 4 days of waiting to hear from them about the problem (my husband is very patient) we finally called them to see what was going on. I was told that my husband gave them the wrong phone number (the same phone number he has had for 15 years). Lie #5: We were told that they couldn't find out what the problem was because their computer would not connect to the vehicle. We were also told that the brake on the back wheel it was leaning toward was down to the pad and would cost us $300 to fix. I told them I was not paying and would take the car to my own mechanic for any thing that wasn't covered by them. We were told that we would have to pay for any repairs because we drove the car 2500 miles in the month and a half we owned it. After 3 more days and no return phone calls we finally just went down and picked up the vehicle to bring it to my mechanic. When I got in the vehicle I noticed that the battery light lit up white. We assume the car just sat out on the lot for the week because when the R350 sits for a week in the cold the battery light on the panel lights up white (thanks Google!). It lights up red when there is a more serious problem. BEWARE: I remembered a few days after dropping it off that I had left my iPod in the glove compartment attached to the integration cable and as I drove off the lot I looked in there for it. The compartment was rummaged through and the iPod was gone. My mistake for leaving it in there. When I remembered it was in there, I knew it would be stolen. I dropped the R350 off at my mechanic and he took one look at it and knew that it was the rear suspension air bag...apparently it is a common problem with the R350. He also showed me that all 4 of the brakes were down to the pads. He guaranteed me that there was no way that in 6 weeks/2500 miles that the brakes were at 75% when we purchased it- endless lies from North Shore Auto Mall... I should have spent more time googling reviews for North Shore Auto Mall than for the Mercedes R350. Just goes to show that you can't trust anyone. The car salesman seemed so genuine, turns out he's just a huge liar. So, a final word to the wise: do your homework. Read the reviews on yelp, the BBB, etc. very carefully-a little bit of every poor review resonates in our own. read more

Run while you can. I bought a 2011 E350 from Northshore auto mall and it failed inspection within 7 days after purchasing the vehicle due to suspension issues and a non-working tail light. I brought the car back to have it serviced twice and they put me in a Nissan versa. I've had the car for about 2 months and now my serpentine belt snapped so I had to replace the serpentine belt and the idler pulley. This is my 3rd Mercedes and never had this many issues. I have been trying to post this review for years (I am not exaggerating), almost 2 years now. I got a Mazda3 in 2012, this was without a doubt the worst experience I've ever had buying anything. My husband and I weren't given a copy of the "original" carfax and when we asked for a copy they said "we can't because it costs $25 each time we make a copy" WHAT THE HELL KIND OF BULLSHIT WAS THAT? I should've walked out right then, but I didn't know any better and wanted the car BAD! The rear bumper on the car was not placed properly, clearly indicating an accident, which obviously wasn't on the "carfax". That was not the worse of the problems, when it came time to register the car, they FALSIFIED a stamp from my insurance company because I wanted to register my car under my company name, which is absolutely acceptable and there is nothing wrong with it, and they told me what I was doing was ILLEGAL. I had such a headache because of that and I have an auto immune condition that got so much worse at the time I almost had to be admitted to the hospital due to stress. Husband and I went back to the dealership to talk about the fake stamp on the form, because my agent never stamped it, they did on their own...we were received badly and shooed away with a "Get the fuck out of my dealership now!" by the lovely owner whose name I have had the wonderful luck to erase from my mind. Do not do business with these people, they are shady, rude, lying snakes and they are the ones who did something illegal, they stamped the RMV-1 form that they filled out wrong to register my car because my agent didn't... because my agent knew they filled that crap wrong. I made a BBB complaint about it, and I almost went for suing them because I almost had to pay $900 again to register my car, thankfully the people at the RMV understood how shitty what they did was and didn't charge me to re-register my car under my company name, like i wanted...Now if the people at the RMV understood and helped me...how illegal was this thing I was trying to do? Hello I wanted to give you a 6 month update on the car I bought from North Shore Auto Mall. First I want to thank Jason for providing me with exceptional customer service before my car sale and after. I bought a 2009 Pontiac Torrent back in May 2017. The car is beautiful and seemed to be in great shape. However, once I took it off the lot, the car began showing immediate signs of an issue with the transmission or a plug. If I go up a hill the engine light shakes. If I go over 40 mph the car shakes. I called the mechanic who has( horrible customer service by the way) and he never returned my calls . So I'm stuck with a vehicle ( that cost me 5,000) that may break down at any moment and at any time. The unfortunate thing is, I'm sure they knew. The only reason I gave a two star is because Jason has been so so nice and also I was able to raise my credit score so I will be able to trade with another dealership. Would leave ZERO stars if I could. I'm not even sure where to begin to list the issues I've had with them.. I bought a used car from them near the end of 2013, and should have known it was sketchy when they told me that I could only take a test drive around their parking lot. But whatever, I was young and dumb I guess, and I figured the 30 day warranty and lemon law would cover me if god forbid anything were to happen with my new car. When I applied for a loan with them they quickly told me I was approved..what they didn't tell me until after everything was signed and paid for, was that the owner Dave lied to the prospective lenders in order to get me approved. Supposedly I was making $1000 a week when in reality I was making about $250..If that were true I wouldn't have went with such a shady dealership or got a loan for a car that wasn't even $5000. After everything was signed for the owner came up to me and told me "oh by the way I had to fudge your numbers a bit so if the bank calls, you tell them you've been at your job X years and you make Y a week." I told him I was uncomfortable with this but was told "well everything is already said and done so its a bit too late to go back." Also while they were rushing me to sign everything they assured me I would be able to have the car the very next day, but in reality it wasn't until the next week that I had it. Since I was promised the car would be ready the next day and I just needed to get the insurance and registration taken care of, I went ahead and cancelled my old car's registration to transfer the plate..so way to leave me without a car for a week, superb customer service! Whatever..now I have my car, everything should be smooth sailing from here right?.. Wrong! On the way home in my new car I notice my gas tank says its close to empty..Ok, its my car I'm responsible for gas, not a problem at all lets get gas! I stop at a gas station, completely fill it, and I'm back on my way. But whats this? My car still says its empty!..and upon closer inspection the temperature gauge and speedometer also haven't moved since I got my car. Great so now my new car could overheat or run out of gas at any moment and I wouldn't even be able to tell until it were too late since the gauges don't work..Not to even mention how unsafe driving with a broken speedometer is. Whatever, they're closed, I just want to go home, sleep, and I'll call them in the morning to set something up to get it fixed. I call them the next day and I'm told its not their problem. I ask about the warranty that dealers are supposed to provide, "That only matters if it fails inspection or if there's an issue with the engine/transmission!" Ironically enough a few days later my check engine light comes on, I take it to auto mechanic in Lynn and am told that there is something wrong with the transmission. I take the car over to the dealer and show them the paperwork the mechanic gave me, and I'm told they'll take the car and get it checked themselves and it'll probably be a few days. Days pass, I haven't once received a call from them so I call to check on it. "Yeah everything's good now come get your car." I go to pick it up expecting that "everything's good now" means that they fixed whatever the issue is, once again I'm mistaken. I get to the dealership and Kevin tells me that they couldn't find anything wrong with the car and that even though I have documentation stating there's an issue, I clearly must be making it up. I went back again since the issues were still unresolved and gave the options of either fixing my car and providing proof the issues were fixed or to completely refund me. I was told to "Get the F out of the dealership and F myself before he calls the cops on me for trespassing." At this point he notices that I have my phone in my hands, and assumed that I was recording this conversation, and he lunges at me to grab my phone out of my hands. My advice to potential buyers is to stay far far away from this terrible dealership unless you want to be swindled, called a liar, and potentially assaulted when you call the lying owner out on his bull. Quick recap: Only allowed me to test drive car in parking lot, so that I wouldn't notice issues. Commits fraud with lenders to get applicants approved, without even telling them until AFTER. Assured the car will be ready very next day when I wasn't able to take it for another week. Car has safety issues that the dealer won't claim responsibility for. Car had transmission issues that the dealer said I made up. Asked for repair or refund, was told to "Get the F out of my dealership and F off before I call the cops!" Owner Dave lunged over the counter at me to rip my phone out of my hands when he assumed I was recording him flipping out on me. read more

I purchased my second car from this dealer with an expectation of being a repeat customer I would be treated better than normal. Instead, I found them to be uncaring, deceitful and just interested in turnover. I never write reviews but I had some major issues with them and just found out another thing they lied about (there were about three). Before, I brought the car, I pointed out a gash in a tire and they said they would fix it. I just put on new tires yesterday and my mechanic told me that I had a huge gash in one of my tires on the inside and it was a good thing I purchased new tires. Went to the dealership today and found 2-3 cars I wanted to test drive. I was told that there was only 1 salesman today and unless we could commit to purchasing a car, it would be better for us to return tomorrow. I'm sorry, but I have time to get a car today. He begrudgingly let us drive one of them literally a half mile and made us turn around. I drive by here nearly every day as I live local...guess I'll keep driving by every day with a car I get from somewhere else. . Don't open the doors unless you can support the consumers making knowledgeable decisions. read more

2 Part review for North Shore Auto Mall. Sales: (I would give Jason alone 5 stars) I had the pleasure to work with Jason, recently he sold me a 2014 BMW X6. Overall experience with Jason was very much how I expected to be. Jason was nice and acknowledge and answered all questions with regards to the entire purchase process of the car. Service: (Dishonest Mechanic) My overall experience with the service side of things was not very pleasant. Back story on the issue. I purchase the car from North Shore Auto Mall. The car has 2 months warranty left on it. So I decided to do my due diligence and bring the car to the manufacture dealer "BMW" I had them inspect the car and go over any unforeseen issues. The BMW dealership brought to my attention 4 issues that should be taken care of right away as a Safety concern. 1. Oil Filter housing Gasket and Oil cooler Gasket 2. Radiator hose needed to be replaced 3. Drive Belt needs to be replaced 4. Engine ground battery cable was corroded All the above issues is a snowball effect caused by the oil leak. Oil leaks on to the Radiator hose which causes the hose to deteriorate. Oil leaks on to the drive belt which cause the belt to deteriorate which can lead to the belt coming off and causing the engine catastrophic damages. The Battery cable of course is the source of power going to the car. So I brought the list of issues to the mechanics attention. Immediately he put the blame on the dealer indicating that they are "trying to take my money and that there is no issues" and that he would check it out. A few hours later I get a call from the mechanic and he indicated that everything was all right. As I drive the car back i notice smoke coming from my engine, this was due to a "oil filter housing gasket leak" (One of the Items the BMW dealership pointed out) I notice the car didn't want to accelerate at times when coming to a complete stop (2nd item on the list Drive Belt) - Because of previous experience with a drive belt coming off from another vehicle I had. So I decided to have the BMW dealership address this issue first. Sure enough the car started to run much better. At this point I would rather have the BMW Dealership repair my issues rather than go back to North Shore Auto Mall Service department. Even though I have 2 months of warranty left on this car I will not be bringing the car to have a dishonest mechanic work on the car. I am firm believer of being upfront and honest with the customer. This mechanic left a sour taste in my mouth. He is the typical mechanic that will break certain parts in your car and have you go back to him repair it. Not professional at all. Word of advise to the mechanic own up to your mistake and be professional with customers. @ Kevin.L I would suggest that you review the professionalism and work ethics of your mechanics as this can cause people to not return to your dealership. Just for this fact alone. I will be paying for my service @ reputable service department even though the vehicle still has warranty that is how much faith I have in your mechanic. read more

I was looking for a little inexpensive sports car. Saw an online ad for a Solstice. So I drove up from Providence (not a big deal since my brother lives in Lynn). Once the salesman saw me ( I am 6' tall) he told me that this would not be the car for me if it were my only car. Right up front he said that vision isn't great. He was looking for a satisfied customer. Took it for a test drive with the top down. Vision not good and worse with top up. But it is fast and is fun to drive. For a 2007 it is in great condition. After driving it for five weeks, Igor the salesman was right but it is my toy. I will not be driving it everyday. Igor was great as were two other managers I had contact with. No real pressure at all. We worked a good trade-in on my old toy. I do recommend Igor and NSAM for your next used car. read more

CROOKS!!! Buyer beware! They sold me a car that Carfax reported frame damage losing nearly $2,000 of original car value. They hid that fact from me by showing a Carfax report before the Frame Damage was reported. Very sneaky dealers! read more

Do not buy a vehicle from this place!!!! They do not service any vehicle before they sell it. When they do, they will only repair the bare minimum just to pass inspection. After you buy from them good luck getting an honest answer about repairs that are needed.
