This place is a total scam, we met a guy on a beach, he handed us a pole with a tangled up line on it, and then sat in the bushes and did not say one word to us for the entire hour and a half. After posting a honest word for word review of exactly what happened, The guide got our contact information and started texting us with physical threats and threatening to sell our information on the dark web when he saw the truthful review. The owner then claimed to be giving us a refund after he found out what happened, really he was just trying to get us to take our review down. We got clear instructions beforehand. When we read the instructions on where to meet, the beach was easy to find. This beach wasn't very populated. I think the only people here were part of the tour so the beach in itself was a hidden gem. Follow the instructions not to wear clothes that you don't wanna get wet bc our clothes got wet just w the tides riding up. Our guide, Ken was super nice and helpful. This is a full service tour where we didn't have to bait or even untangle lines. If we needed help, Ken was there to help. This was more to get the experience of fishing where you cast the line and pull the fish in. There are plenty of fish too! We caught a fish almost within 5 min. All you have to do is cast it deeper into the ocean than on shore. There were so many. My son and husband caught a blowfish within 15 min. Too bad that our experience had to end abruptly bc of heavy monsoon like wind and rain. We got soaked. It was so much fun though. read more

My boyfriend caught a fish and then turtles started plotting on his line. The couple fishing alongside us caught two fish, so I would def recommend this spot for doing so. Beware if you are booking this through go city. I just returned from a trip in Oahu and this shore fishing booking really ruined the trip. We booked with our go city pass and paid the 25 per person deposit. However, the night before the tour, there was a tsunami warning, causing evacuation in our area. I texted the guy saying that we don't feel comfortable going to shore fishing during a tsunami warning, specially since I have young kids with me. And I asked to cancel, but he won't let me cancel. During the scheduled time of the tour, a tsunami advisory was still in place, so I did not go due to safety concern. Accordingly to the fine prints, the worse is that I lose my deposit. However, he charge an additional $480 to my card for no reason at all. I did not agree to that. I tried to reach out to him through both text and email on this fraudulent charge, but he just ignored me. So now I have to work with my credit card company to try to reverse this. This is a very scammy business. Do not trust them with your credit card information. read more

The tour guide was awesome. We used our go city pass and came in on a Thursday morning. We did not catch anything but here is a gist of everything: Fishing poles-(5/5) he had them ready for us and made sure everyone knew how to fish. Location-(5/5) we were told to meet at a location along North Shore and it was plain gorgeous. I loved every minute of it. Make sure you bring rock shoes as the corals are sharp of course. Experience-(4/5) the overall experience was great, there was plenty of space to roam and fish different spots. Maybe there could be little containers for bait to be given out to everyone, but still such a great experience. We would need to stay nearby the bait, which limited how far you could go out. The weather is unpredictable with the wind and wave. I wished we caught a fish but those with water shoes definitely caught fish. We hope to come back and try again when we visit HI. read more

We've never been fishing, so when I saw that a "Shoreline Fishing" activity was available on the Go Oahu card, we decided to check it out! The day before our activity, we reached out to confirm our booking and were sent a text with details about where to go, what to bring and what to expect. We were warned that there wouldn't be any restrooms, but fortunately, we discovered a restroom about a quarter mile from where our meet up point was. Sure, it was just a porta potty, but hey it was better than nothing. All in all, this is to say, that you're not totally stranded if not having a bathroom around is something you're concerned about ;). The meet up spot was at a beach, so you're not having to take a tour van or anything to reach your destination. Once you're there, you're there. As someone who's never fished, this was a perfect activity. Our awesome guide Kyler gave us a short tutorial and then it was time to fish. It took some practice, but after a couple of tries, I felt comfortable casting and reeling in. Kyler baited our hooks, untangled our lines, and once we caught a fish he helped us take photos, and then released the fish for us. He was a busy guy the whole time (there were about 10 people in our group) but was super attentive and friendly. I mean, it really couldn't have been any easier for us. I caught three fish in about an hour and each fish I caught was a different type too. While we were fishing, we even saw a couple of turtles in the water, which was exciting, but if you do see one, please be sure to NOT cast a line near them! This may sound like common sense, but this is an important thing to remember. After about an hour and a half of fishing, we decided to move on to the next activity. We met Kenny at 9:00am for a fishing experience for myself and my kids, 8 and 10. Kenny was great! He was super helpful, great with my kids, 100% attentive, baited all the hooks and cast every line for us. He had the Hawaiian relaxed energy that so many of us city mainlanders need. We had a terrible experience where my son got hurt and the instructor was clueless on what to do. When we arrived, the instructor gave us a one sentence instruction which none of us understood. Then on first throwing out the line, it hit my son's side and he was in so much pain. The instructor had no idea what to do and called his boss. They instructed he send us to an urgent care, a very specific one that wasn't the closest and we soon found out there was no way to get there except through a military base. So with my son in pain, i had to find a different urgent care i wasn't familiar with. I was treated with an attitude when i contacted the company and my son was blamed. As good as our first experience was, our latest experience was the complete opposite. We were 12 people this time: my family of four, my sister in law's family of four, and one more family of four we didn't know. We were sent to the same spot from 3 years ago and waited. We finally text Tim at our scheduled time and he informs us that we were "sent to the wrong place." Gives us directions to get to his spot "2 minutes away." We get to the new place and have to call him again because he's down the beach where he set up and not anywhere near the entrance to lead us. We go down to the beach and ended up going the opposite direction of where he had set up since he was nowhere to be seen. We started at least 20 minutes late, but started getting the countdown of when time was up as our two hours approached which he did let us know about loud and clear. The family we didn't know was long gone by then. Once we find him, he proceeds to give us all a "group lesson" on what to do for literally a minute maybe two. Our kids do not go fishing. We do not go fishing. Literally why we paid to have a "guide." The man did not move from his spot the entire time. He untangled two lines for the kids that we couldn't do ourselves, but literally nothing else. He had his phone and when he wasn't on it, it was connected to his speaker for music to pass the time. We proceed to take the four boys down and show them what to do, bait their poles and untangle their lines when we could. It was a terrible spot and only one person caught a tiny little fish. My nephew who caught the fish was looking for help to unhook and release it and starts walking towards an adult, but it was off his hook before getting to anyone since we were spaced out and Tim was at his shady spot under a tree where he had set up and did not move from there. My husband and I have signed up for shore fishing at the North Shore. It was the first-ever event we had in Hawaii and we were having an absolutely good time. We not only caught fish but were also able to see a Hawaiian green sea turtle and a pair of Raccoon butterflyfish approaching the seashore. The staff is knowledgeable, patient, and passionate. Did the moderate hike and bike rental with tour guide Dustin. It was one of my favorite part of my Oahu trip. One of the benefits with having Dustin is knowing what locals recommend, and avoiding the tour traps. Also, he is a wonderful photographer and will take pictures at key locations. The cost of the tour is negated by the fact that Dustin is also a part time photographer and provides wonderful pictures. The quality of pictures, angles, lightening, and locations are typically people would pay a photographer for. My wife and I finished the day with pictures we could reminisce when we are back in the mainland. read more

We booked with GoOahu and our experience was not as we expected. We did not have a tour guide and had the self-guided tour which we did not feel was clear before we got there. Once we arrived, we felt the experience and company were simply unprofessional. The man who had to give us the bikes was shirtless and smoking something and pulled out our bikes from a van. These bikes were not up to the quality and were just difficult to ride. They were all trashy and had tons of issues with the brakes as well. The tandem bikes were almost impossible to ride. Since we did not pay directly and went through GoOahu, we were not so devastated about the money lost but we did feel that it was a waste of our time. If you are booking directly without the voucher, I do not feel this was worth $70 a person. read more

I booked the day of which worked out great. We did a self guided bike tour and picked up the bikes at a specified location. Finding parking wasn't too bad around where we needed to pick up the bikes. I wish the bike trail was longer for the amount we paid for (2) bikes. During the ride my boyfriends bike chain came off twice and the back wheel was shifting side to side. Bikes are not in the best shape, brakes don't work smoothly and not worth the cost of rental. Also bikes aren't sanitized or clean, they come off a van so be aware what you're getting. We had Taylor as our tour guide for the intermediate hike. She was wonderful. She was very friendly and warm, informative, inclusive of everyone in our group, suggested breaks to help keep everyone together (there were different skill levels of hikers in the group) and photo ops. She even took pictures of us and sent them, so we didn't have to do selfies. She told us were to go, to enjoy Oahu like a local, it was awesome!. Taylor made us feel like family. Hiked up with the owner of the company. He kept rushing our family (the only ones in the group) and wouldn't stop. A little like a taskmaster that just kept going even when we asked him to slow down. Our littlest child (6) was pretty slow and kept falling behind. He just kept pushing and pushing us, until the little kids started to cry because of his pace. It wasn't a very good experience and he just wasn't sensitive to our family and the pace of children. The whole way up he kept taking family photos and told us he would send them all to us with a slide show. He never did. He had all of our information and still didn't. *** Update - Owner has contact info and still won't send photos. Also, I personally made numerous attempts yelling ahead to ask him to slow down for the kids. He just kept on pushing his own pace. read more

My partner and I did the snorkel rental but did not really enjoy it. I was super sketched out about picking up our gear as it told me to drive to a random location and some random person will meet me there. I am obviously a tourist so this got me really anxious. I called them to help with my anxiety and basically got a too bad so sad. We got no flippers or snorkeling tips besides to simply swim. Paying to get to this random location and then to the different beaches as well as the gear definitely costed more than what it would have been in the average snorkeling tour that costs about $170+. read more

They have a 48 hour cancellation policy. But they don't send you a confirmation email until less than 20 hours before your reservation. We got snorkel gear somewhere else and we told them we wouldn't be needing them as soon as we got their email. Well they went ahead and charged their cancellation fee. I told them if their was a fee we could go in and pick them up even if we didn't need them but they were not willing to budge or make any effort to be helpful. I feel like this is how they want to make their money. Just make sure you read their fine print I'm pretty sure they will hide other stuff in there. read more

Really disappointing. On May 1st I tried to book a bike tour for a date just over a month away and was told to "book closer to the date" since I was by myself and they would not add me since they need at least two people on a tour. Fast forward to twelve days later and I tried to book again, but was told that this time it was all full!!! Wait, what? First they wouldn't book me because the tour was empty and now it's full? There's no waiting list either. It just seems really unprofessional not to have one and not to give a prospective new customer tips on when/how often to call back, etc. Scheduling a trip during COVID when so many places have reduced capacity is very challenging and I wish this business could recognize that and work with us. I mean, was it a surprise to them that summer was going to fill up completely and so fast? How hard would it have been to just sign me up and wait a few days to get other customers? I, on the other hand, have never been there and don't know what to expect so I did what I was told and tried to book closer but was turned away without even the courtesy of being put on a waiting list. This is not a big deal to them but seeing as how it'll be my only chance to ever go to Oahu, I'm going to miss out on cycling this area and I love to ride so I am very disappointed and pretty disgusted with just being blown off like that. I'm not a fan of being told to text their company either. It seems like such an impersonal way to do business but it sure did make it easy for them to turn me away and tell me how busy they were signing other folks up. Ah well...that actually frees me up to spend more time and money somewhere else. read more

We had a great time on our Shoreline Fishing tour (part of the Oahu Go Pass). Our instructor, Tim, was THE BEST -- we had a great time fishing and he also gave us coconuts from his own backyard!! He was personable, patient and helpful. He cut bait up and made it readily available and he was really good at teaching you how to fish properly. He really made the whole experience.
