Mario arrived in about 5 minutes and was super professional. During this Covid-19 pandemic, I was glad to see this company and Mario taking precautions. Mario had on a mask, maintained social distancing and still managed to be personal as he assisted me. He was able to jump start our car and even offered hand sanitizer after we were done paying while also sanitizing his own hands. I found their service to be prompt, courteous and professional! I have a long work commute to the North Shore area. I was having issues with my engine and barely made it to work in the morning. After working a tiring shift, I had to navigate getting my car towed from my place of work to almost 30 miles home! To say the least, it was not a great situation to be in. I was in a terrible mood, that instantly dissolved once I met my tow truck driver, Eddie. He called me promptly to tell me what time he was going to be at my location, he arrived on time (even after I gave him wrong directions!) and was in great spirits. Meeting Eddie really changed my mood over the situation, he was cracking jokes with myself and my fiance (who came to pick me up after work). He was very professional, and fun at the same time. He even called me when he dropped my car off at the mechanic to let me know everything was taken care of. I was towed tonight at around 1230Am because my Engine mount blew on my Camry and the Guy on the phone was professional and called his driver immediately. I instantly felt good knowing that he was on point, and the driver was there in minutes. This late at night was refreshing to see such punctuality. Anyways, the towing cost was reasonable, he gave me a lift to my Apartment, and even suggested replacement vehicle compatible to mine at the company. I am very grateful for such hospitality considering I am new to Chicago. When I see bad reviews sometimes I think about the character of the person writing it. Most horrible experience of my recent adult life... I was at Audio Consultants in Evanston today during the noon hour and I was in the back to pick up a heavy order. As the backs of the buildings are not well marked I parked accidentally (my fault ) in the lot to the west of Audio Consultants that I now know they do not own. Within 20 minutes my vehicle was gone and towed by and to North Shores off site lot. My vehicle has a business phone number on the side so someone could have easily called that number or seen I went into the adjacent business. So it gets better... I saw the sign and called do you have my vehicle and they said yes. The folks at Audio Consultants were nice enough to drive me to the lot 15 minutes away. When I got there the agent said 218.00 cash. It was there every bit of an hour at their depot. I asked do you have an atm? No, go across the street at an obvious fee. Never said this on the phone. The best of the best is when I got home the car "would not shift into any gears with the steering column shifter". I have had this vehicle from day one in 2013 and know it like the back of my hand. I called them and talked to Sherri and asked how did you get the vehicle on the flatbed and she said I am not the tow truck driver - don't know, When I had to call another reputable company in my local area they took 90 minutes to get to me - not 20 minutes for a quick $218.00 cash grab like North Shore , (they must be waiting in the downtown area for these opportunities) the driver who looked under the vehicle said your transmission connector is bad to the gear shifter? Coincidence? You make the call. So now the connector needs repair on top of the $218.00 and the second towing today. Spend your hard earned dollars elsewhere.. read more

Today was the day. Living in Chicago, I knew it'd happen sooner or later. I hit a pothole, and next thing I knew, 10 minutes later, one of my front tires was as flat as a pancake. Not knowing what to do, or how to change a tire [kill me now], and not wanting to ruin my fresh manicure [kidding...well, not really], I called North Shore Towing to come rescue me. They were unable to get the spare tire on, so my car had to be towed a couple of miles to the nearest tire shop. The driver was one of the nicest guys I have ever encountered while I've been in Chicago, and the dispatcher was very friendly, too. They told me they'd arrive in 20 minutes, and they did within a half-hour, so I was happy. My car was not damaged in the process [like many towing companies seem to do]. I found the rates to be reasonable. Getting a flat tire is never a pleasant experience, but with North Shore Towing, they made it bearable. My wife crashed a car and Evanston police called this company to tow my car to them even when I said that I have AAA coverage and I could tow it using my coverage. But Police refused and said they have contract with this company and don't really care what kind of coverage we have. We came to North Shore Towing next day to take our car and they said that we should pay 609$ in order to do it. My wife and me both were laid off from our jobs recently during Coronavirus outbreak and we told them that this amount is kind of harsh for us to pay now. But they didn't care. We talked with receptionist - it was Black lady who was extremely rude and said that she doesn't care about our problems and even if we bust our heads in front of her she would not allow us to take our car until we pay 609$ right away. We we asking about other options like partial payments but she again, using dirty Ghetto talk, told us to get out. I told her that I want to see her supervisor but she said that he is not here and she would never talk with us. Wow... Impressive customer service. I could let one time slide (a left turn from the straight lane into northbound oncoming traffic that had a green) but I've seen this kind of driving from these guys many times. Attn: PROPERTY MANAGERS! Do not contract with this company. They towed my truck from my apartment building, when I called Cheryl told me they didn't have it. Filed police report for stolen vehicle, police have no record of any tow company picking it up. Then I got a letter from them that they have had it all along. Cheryl was very rude, constantly interrupting me, and saying we could sing together but not talk?!? No idea what drugs she's on. Then she lied to me again on the phone, saying that the problem was my management company not listing the correct address for the tow on our contract, but I checked our contract and the address is in it. When I asked what the address had to do with it, she balked. Out of the truck for 3 weeks, insurance claim filed so my rates are going up, and I have water damage from a recent storm because my backup generator is in the truck too. Cheryl said she was authorized to discount the storage fee, when I said it wasn't enough she claimed to have no way to get in touch with the owner or her boss to go further. What a joke! Website says family owned and operated, don't let these liars near your tenants cars. When your tenants suffer from their lies, it makes it harder to get the rent. Update: after not getting a promised call back, I called again today. Spoke with One person that said Bob just stepped out but will be back. My car was towed and brought here. Coming in, it's very disorganized. There isn't really a place for customers/people to be. I stood in the hallway waiting to be helped watching 3 or 4 people walk around and wasn't helped until I approached someone asking for it. The person helping me was helpful until the machine couldn't charge my card. I gave him another card and the machine again didn't work. I called my bank and they said they weren't receiving a charge. The guy told me it was my fault and that it must be because I didn't have enough money (not the case as I assured him several times). I asked if he had another way to charge my card. He told me to walk to the ATM at the gas station up the street. I asked to speak to his manager. "He's busy." "Is he here?" "He's in a meeting with the owner." "Can I speak to the owner too?" Then he motions for me to go further into the disorganized office. I walk into the owners/managers office where two men whom I assumed were the owner and manager were sitting apart at their desks. I asked for help. I spoke aloud that the machine was declining my cards despite the fact that I have sufficient funds. I also explained that the banker said they're not receiving any charge at all. Immediately one of them just says, "If the machine isn't taking your card your card isn't good." I asked him if he could help me and he said the same thing would just happen again. After asking again for help insisting that my cards hadn't been charged he finally agreed to help me. With a smug and annoyed demeanor he got up from his chair and walked with me to the office to where the machine had repeatedly failed to charge my cards. Like dude I'm just trying to get my car back... He called another woman over to use the machine and she ran my card one time having it succeed right away (she also told the guy from before how to do it correctly). I said to the manager, "Thank you! This is why I got you to help me. Your employee told me it was my fault and that I needed to walk all the way to the gas station to get cash." He almost seemed annoyed that it worked this time. As he was leaving the room he muttered, "Your banker must have done something." I said after him, "My banker didn't do anything." After finishing up with the original employee he told me my car was in the back lot and told me how to get there. When I was walking out the manager started walking with me. I told him I was pretty unhappy with their customer service and that my trip was made to be really complicated. I also told him I didn't appreciate his rudeness and unwillingness to help me pay them! He argued with me saying he was never rude and that his employees were all very helpful. I told him I wasn't trying to argue with him, I was just giving him his customer's impression. When I could see my car I walked over to it alone. It was parked in so close that I had about 3 inches on either side of my front and back bumpers. I pulled back and forth about 10 times as the manager watched. Finally on the last one he motioned for me to keep coming and helped me on the last out. As I was driving by him he said, "Sorry your car got towed." I said, "Me too." In the end I'm giving 2 stars because of the help at the very end and the fact that he walked me most of the way to my car after seeing that I was annoyed. I feel like getting your car towed doesn't have to suck that bad. With a little more customer service I could have gotten out of there a lot faster and been a lot happier too. read more

I called 45 min after I requested the tow, to check in, and was (rudely) told no one had been dispatched yet. Huh? I called again 56 minutes after the request and still no one was on the way. It ultimately took the truck 90 minutes to get to me. Fine, but don't lie about it and don't get annoyed when your customer calls to see what's going on. I had my bmw towed here and they splashed mud at my vehicle when I wasn't around and one of the workers even painted their name on my windshield. I warn you not to receive service here! My mom agreed to pay $150 to have her car towed from the accident site to home. The truck driver Luis asked my mom to pay cash and that her insurance will reimburse her. She only had a credit card so he first stopped at the towing site insisting she needs to talk to the office. She thought she was stopping by to pay and then they would be on their way. They started unloading her car and the reason was that they have other cars to tend to first. She expressed her anger to the manager who was extremely unhelpful and rude in return. Eventually, the manager said they can tow her home and charged her $275 on her credit card without telling her they changed the cost and with no explanation. My reasons are these; today Tuesday 7 2017 I left my semi truck parked in an empty parking lot because I was having issues with it. I left for a few hours while I got help. There was no sign, no anything in regards to not parking during the day. When we came back with the part. The truck was not attached to the towing truck, so I went ahead and got in it. While I was in it, they lifted and hooked the truck to the tow truck. These guys could have not taken my truck because at the moment we got there they were not hooked to it. Then these guys were pushing my father. This is considered harassment. So we decided to record them. If we hadn't recorded these guys wouldn't have calmed down against us. It's sad because my fathers life and mine were in danger. These guys are animals. We called the cops and they arrived we try explaining them about the issue of the pushing, the harassing towards my dad and they didn't care. The cops told me there was nothing to do here if my truck was able to move to go ahead and if my truck wasn't able to move then the North shore towing will take my truck. I have my own business and I wouldn't like my employees to act this way towards humanity. How can there be discrimination against your own people? Just because we are colored people.
