Took my diesel vehicle in which was stalling and running rough. Diagnostic code said faulty fuel control module. I told the advisor this, then got a call there was gasoline in the fuel system. Long story short, their diesel tech doesn't know the difference between diesel and gasoline. Test results came back as pure diesel 3 weeks later. My review is for service. I needed a new transmission and was told it would take 2-7 days to get the necessary part and one day to do the work. Ten days went by without hearing anything from anyone. I couldn't even get anyone on the phone for an update. Finally, two weeks later, I got a response that the suv would be ready. Throughout the process the whole team was rude and did a poor job of communicating and explaining anything. Jason, in particular, has a horrible attitude. last 2 inspections had a chech eng light on they reset it and passed the vehicle. there's a memo from Chevy about bad fuel injectors and for them to fix the problem. Had back brakes put on, had no parking brake when I got home. Another return trip. Now the best. 1,449 miles after having AC condenser changed the transmission cooler line came off and blew up my transmission. It didn't break just came off. If I could give 0 stars I would. My husband and I called about a pre-owned 2015 Silverado. We live about an hour from the dealership so called to make sure a reasonable deal could be made. We were reassured by Lauren that the deal could be pretty close to what we were looking for. We drove the hour drive, met Kevin, and went on a test drive. Kevin was friendly and was discussing all of the bells and whistles on the car we would be trading in. As soon as we got back from the test drive his whole attitude changed. He offered us way below the Kelly Blue Book pricing and refused to negotiate. He actually stated that we should go buy our car from Cochran since they offered us more. After dropping off vehicle for five hours diagnosis was not even complete. When speaking with Service Manager Ron he explained to me he had 75 appointments that day. These scumbags are the worst. Brought my basically new vehicle in for inspection. The only issue I had was a small rattling upon start that I ask they investigate. After inspection they said I needed new brakes and rotors. My brakes were fine. I thought they were full of shit but I went along with it anyway though I refused the rotors and they claimed they would resurface. The noise I heard they claimed to be a cracked manifold that was under warranty so obviously they "fixed" that. When I get my car back the brakes are noisy and also vibrating badly. The noise I was hearing not only remained at start up but a new noise had materialized. It was obviously so much louder but these clowns don't test drive after they do work so they had no idea. When I brought the car back they wanted me to give them more money for a manifold gasket that wasn't under warranty and new rotors. I told them to fuck off since I had no issues before they touched my car. Since I can do simple fucking brake jobs I decided to look into the work they did. I discovered that the brakes were not lubricated which caused the noisiness. Loose brake clips accounted for the vibration. The new noise came from a completely unsecured air box. The screws that keep the box closed were completely stripped out. Assuming these assholes took it apart to do the manifold and used a drill to tighten. Instead of tightening it like a normal this clown hammered it home til it was completely blown aht. Got some bigger screws and wow, the noise was gone but supposedly I need a manifold gasket that wasn't under warranty. Yeah ok pal. Suck my ass read more

Most times the salesman or dealer will offer up a Carfax if it is good. I never asked for the report so they didn't provide it. I purchased a 2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe. I traded it this weekend and the Carfax reported an accident in 2012. I purchased the car in 2014. Since it was a negative report...I lost over $2000 in trade value. Buyer beware. I have bought all my cars here in the past but after this experience, never again. Had to have my Cruze towed there. I completely understand and didn't expect them to jump for me. However, I have been told bs from the beginning. First it was a few days, then it was we will stay and work to get it done, come to find guy didn't even work the next day. Then I was told the parts were all there only to find out from a different customer rep that the part wasn't coming in until the following Monday. Come today, I stop by to see what was going on and I'm told they are booked up two weeks solid and they have to find time to squeeze me in! Well if he had said that from the jump I could've made different arrangements. It has been nearly two weeks!I'm flippin real. I was told about this place and now I know why. Who knows when it will be done and now that I talked to a few folks who had dealings with them, who knows if it will even be fixed right. Stay away from this place for auto repair!! They smacked my brand new sonic off the lift rack that took them 3 days just to put a remote starter in and the used truck had a bunch of transmission issues that they refused to replace. Don't go to this place! The customer service is HORRIBLE!! The head service man was so mean to my 23 year old daughter saying he can't help her reprogram her key phob and he didn't have time for it. When she asked to make an appointment he said he didn't have time. When I called they were just as rude to me! They wanted to charge me $118 to reprogram her key phob and she needed to make an appointment and they told me expect her to wait 1/12 hours. They also said the car would need a diagnostic test to make sure it ran ok. WE JUST NEEDED A KEY PHOB PROGRAMMED....my other keys worked fine with the car...the car runs FINE! They were condescending, rude, and arrogant. For a new dealership to act like this I wish them the best of luck! We took her key immediately to the Bridgeville, PA Chevy...They waved the $40 fee and reprogrammed the phob within 5 minutes! They were nice and helpful and we will forever go there.....they also will get our 2019 brand new Tahoe business! Knew I wanted a 2019 Cruze and I loved my 2011 Cruze but decided to transfer the title to my son and buy a new one knowing that it is the last year the model will be available. Walked into the showroom and had the pleasure of meeting Joe Pegg, who helped me find exactly and specifically the features I was interested in. Never felt any pressure from this genuinely friendly young man that made my car buying experience as pleasant and productive as anyone could. I can't say enough about how helpful and knowledgeable Joe Pegg was. I had a very favorable experience and I am very aware of salespersons badgering a potential customer. That makes me want to walk straight out the door. I would definitely return to this dealership and have already recommended it to others. I have given this dealership way too many chances. Over the past two years, in four or five total visits, I have spent close to $3,000 for repairs/oil changes/etc. Just this past week I went in for a state inspection and it failed for reasons that another auto shop in town told me it should have never failed. I was told I needed both shocks replaced and the reset in my turn signal replaced in order to pass inspection, which is not the case. Needless to say I took it elsewhere, where all they did was replace a few burnt out bulbs and passed my vehicle. I spent $80 there, when I would have spent over $800 at Northstar. To all my Police, Fire, and EMS friends and family. Recently bought a CERTIFIED Silverado from North Star Chevy in Moon Twp. Worst experience I ever had with purchasing a vehicle. Not only did they promise me things they would do for the truck before I bought it that never got done. A month after buying it I took the taillights out to change a light bulb and realized there was three inches of mud, water, and a lot of rust inside the panels. Not only that there was rust under the truck and in the wheel wells. So I called the service department and got an appointment. They PROMISED ME that the panels would be cleaned and the rust would be sanded and the whole truck undercoated. When I picked it up. The only thing they did after two weeks of arguing with the service department and service manager was spray the mud out. The rest was left there and the only part they undercoated was a tiny section by the wheel well not even covering anything they painted right over the rust. Just to try to make it look like they did it. The first 7 pictures are before it went into the shop and the last 3 are the after. Which look the same because they did NOTHING they said they would. We took my car in for an inspection and the mechanic found one legit safety issue with a small leak in the power steering, one minor CV boot tear, and some nitpick issues. We addressed all issues and brought the car back. The mechanic (John) didn't like the manner in which I repaired the CV boot and failed us again. I repaired the boot using a flexible adhesive designed to bond rubber since the tear was so small. The adhesive has been holding strong for almost a month. He then made comments that I'm probably trying to hide other issues by oiling the underside of my car. Sorry, this is Pittsburgh and they go heavy on the salt. I didn't keep my car from rusting out for the last 17 years by prayer. To add insult to injury, he didn't even give us the emissions sticker we're entitled to. The service writer was nice enough, but he has no say over the power tripping mechanic. We'll be taking all of our business elsewhere and filing a complaint with the state police over the inspection. read more

the last time I brought my car in to get serviced I had a no complaints about the experience. the workers there are always friendly; however, I was set for an 8am appointment for a simple oil change. it took over an hour and a half to get my car back leading me to be 20 minutes late to work. i genuinely think they didnt even start my car until i went at 9 to check on the status of it. It took 2 more check-ins to finally get my car back. again the service rep was very nice and seemed like e genuinely felt bad but i just felt forgotten and definitely did not appreciate this causing me to be late when i schedule more than enough time to have my car serviced and get to work early. read more

They didn't even bother resetting the oil light in the second car after having it so long! I guess the bright side is that I know how to fix my own oil light next time they don't do it. I got my car from this place at the end of october. Luckily i knew exactly what i was looking for and they had it, so the fact that they were kind of pushing me into buying this car didn't bother me that much - i knew i wanted it when i came there. I am a girl who doesn't know much about cars so it was pretty easy for them to take advantage of that and they did. They didn't even want to show me the car until i agreed to buy it. The day I got the car the lights inside weren't working so I had to go back the next day to get that fixed. I also asked to take a look at the sunroof - the rubber part around it was sticking out and i had trouble opening and closing it. When they messed with it it only got worse!!! And they also told me that it is NOT SUPPOSED TO OPEN ALL WAY. Well, guess what??? It is supposed to (as i accidentally found out yesterday) - they were just lazy enough to say that instead of fixing it as they should have. There were few other minor issues that they should have taken care of but never did (for example the battery died in just about a month after i got the car). I do love the car and i am happy i have it but i really doubt that i will go back to that place when it is time to get something else. read more

I wish I could give this dealership negative stars based on the experience that I had earlier today. My daughter and I were shopping for a used "first" car for her to drive to school this year. We went to North Star Chevrolet because their website, as well as other auto sales websites, lists at least 10 cars in our price range of under $5000. We were greeted by the receptionist (who seemed really unhappy to be there), and promptly turned over to a salesman, Todd. When we explained to Todd what we were looking for he escorted us to his cube to search the website. I thought perhaps I had heard him incorrectly when he mentioned one car on the site, then said, "Oh, but you don't want that. That "ain't" been inspected since 2013." He then went on to say that any car that was being sold for less than 5K would be sold "As Is", so of course it would need work. I accepted that as his way of saying that the car would not be in perfect shape, then asked about an Equinox that we had seen online earlier, listed at just under $5000. When I asked about inspection on that vehicle, Todd rudely informed me that "As Is" means uninspected, and that they don't do "nothin" to these cars before they turn around and sell them. I guess maybe instead of writing this negative review, I should be thanking Todd for his brutal honesty, but I'm too shocked by the level of rudeness, unprofessionalism, and disrespect that we were shown to be seeing anything good about our experience here today. I will also mention that this was in stark comparison to the Toyota dealership in the same area where we were treated with courtesy and respect, and where by the way, I think we will be returning to purchase the nice little car that we looked at and that was inspected until July 2017! read more

My 2011 Chevy Cruze LT had a recall. The service department was able to fit me in at the time I wanted and I really appreciate that kind of courtesy. When I arrived in the service department, they waited on me immediately. The courtesy shuttle was able to take me to work, which also made the experience pleasant. My car had to stay overnight, so they set me up with a very nice vehicle to take home for the night. At the end of the next work day, the recall was taken care of and I was able to pick up my car. It was the little things that made my experience very pleasant. Ed in the service department made sure I was clear on everything that was happening with my car. From when I shook his hand as I was dropping my car off to when he walked me out to the lot to pick my car up, I enjoyed working with him. I didn't catch her name, but the woman who gave me my courtesy vehicle for the night & next day, was very nice as well. Everyone was so friendly! I've taken my 2009 Traverse in to North Star for service three times. The first time I was having issues with the power steering. I'd received a notice indicating that this was an issue with some vehicles and that it would be converted by warranty. My service advisor indicated that I had a different issue...$1200 later as I drove out I had the same issue! I couldn't be without my vehicle for a few more days but took it back a couple weeks later. My service advisor no longer worked there. Guess what, the problem was the recall issue. I was annoyed that I was out $1200 for work I didn't need. This week my car overheated and was smoking. I called the service department 8 minutes after they closed. The scheduler dispatched a tow truck to take it to the dealership. I received a call from the service advisor at 6:45 the next morning to tell me they received the vehicle and would call me later with a diagnosis. After noon, he called again and said that they wouldn't be able to get to it til the next day. At 4:00 pm on day 2 of being without a car, I called to check on it. I am informed that it will be two more days before they can even look at it. I could have had it towed to the dealership where I bought it in Texas, repaired, and returned more quickly. This is three strikes! I'm done with them. Never again. read more

Dishonest and will lie. My Camaro was damaged due to someone at the dealership parking a manual trans car without the ebrake applied. A person that drive a manual daily doesn't expect to get into a car and it roll away as your getting your keys ready. Owners manual clearly says park the car in gear and firmly apply the ebrake. It also says to start vehicle push in the clutch place in neutral and turn the key. I guess GM is a do as i say not as i do company. Employees tell you one thing and owns up to their mistakes one day and even try to repair the problem. Then tells you "they" will fix the car that they would need to do a police report to turn it into "their" insurance. Then you make an appointment to get the car repaired or trade it in and the story is completely different now they say it your fault. I'll remind you they attempted to fix the car and did a crap job with touch up paint that doesn't even match. The body shop manager tried to fix the bumper with a heat gun and made it worse. But its your fault, why would they attempt to fix something thats your fault. And to top it off two adult managers get so angry that they are red faced and screaming and stuttering because they know your right. Don't even call corporate its a waste of time. Their dealerships are franchised so they don't have to deal with complaints. Good job GM. I got a flat tire at a ford dealership years ago while looking at cars on their lot in a Chevy and they fixed it for me. We were going to trade it in on a new Camaro or Corvette but after being treated like that from this dealership and GM i guess ill buy a Mustang or Challenger instead. Service repair- been dealing with Matt for over a month and received great service for, one item was fixed, still making that 'funny sound' and they took care of it again though a different issue. Timely service and appointment time. Shuttle was a service greatly appreciated too. Courtesy and reasonable for my Vibe, just at 49,000 miles but out of 5 yr powertrain warranty in timing. I'm totally discussed. I have only had my jeep for 1 year. This is the first time that I had to get it inspected. I dropped it off the night before and had a morning appointment, 8:30 to be exact. At 3:30 pm I still didnt have my jeep back. I went to the dealer to see what was going on and that's when they told me that they were working on it. They had all day. Then they tell me that it did not pass and that there are somethings that needed done. Are you serious? I told them that I did not want to stay there and told them that I would take it somewhere else. It took them another 45 minutes for them to bring me my jeep. The staff that was there was wondering why I was still there and what was going on. Then when I finally got the bill, they tried to charge me for an oil change that was free. I get free inspections for as long as I have the jeep, but I promise I will NEVER go back there to get anything done and will tell EVERYONE I know not to go there for anything. I can't believe that this is how they treat there customers. Even the cashier told me I had a right to be upset. This place is horrible and I want to let people know not to take there vehicles there for anything and do not by a car, truck, or SUV from them if this is how they will treat their customers. read more

This complaint is aimed at NORTHSTAR CHEVEROLET in MOON TWP. PA. I bought a brand new, mind you, BRAND NEW Camaro. I did not go in thinking "I want a new car with some blemishes" or "I want a new car with painted body parts that they are trying to hide". Or I want a new car where the people that sell it lie and misinform me every time I go there". Yep, I am pretty sure this was not one of my goals when I walked into this dealership. Even after buying my Camaro I brought it back as I found that when I went over it, I found the windshield to be etched by mineral stains from raindrops drying on the windshield. Also noticed marks in the paint, which after painting cars for almost thirty years looks like someone touched it while the paint was just at the final drying stage. So I took it to the dealership for three days. They did not replace the windshield, (Which they offered to do) You see this is lying, it is the purposeful act of deception or misleading someone with half truths, and the buff job they did was or looked like it was dome by someone that has never run a buffer before. So this weekend I buffed out all of Northstar's amateur buffing mistakes and will try and polish the windshield, if not I will just go to another dealership. I do not know what the price is to get good service from this place, i.e. What amount do I have to spend to get good service, but I do feel it is an impossible task. Please, don't give me excuses, your dealership is full of arrogant and very unresponsive employees. I showed the spot to the "experienced" body man who said "I can't see it". So I took it home and buffed it myself, because for some reason I have super human eyes that can see imperfections in paint surfaces. Simply amazing this dealership is still in business! I feel that me and Northstar are going to part ways because, obviously, I am not a good enough customer. I do not appreciate being lied too and do you really think I am that stupid? And please take the time to browse the "not recommended reviews, as they are just as revealing as these ones are. I guess Yelp is being paid to not show these, yep, so much for unbiased accountability. WE ARE VERY DISAPPOINTED CUSTOMERS!!!!! Since this was our first time experiencing a leased vehicle, we had no clue what to expect when our daughter's lease was up. My husband called the day before in case we needed to make an appointment prior to us stopping in. The gentleman my husband spoke with ended up being the sale rep (Frank Moux) we dealt with when we came in on 4-25-17. Frank told my husband on the phone no appointment was needed. When we arrived at the dealership on Tuesday night, my husband mentioned were considering buying the Cruze if the price was right. Frank said "it was straight forward on how much the payments would be and there wasn't much he could do for us. Since the dealership deals with 80% of new leases they don't deal too much with buying cars anymore." We were taken back on that comment! Our understanding was a sale is a sale the dealership is making money! Frank mention about getting us into a new lease. We stated at this point, we are not considering a new vehicle, we wanted the car our daughter had leased or we would return it. Frank asked for a exact milage amount so my husband went out to the Cruze to obtain the number. While he was gone Frank mentioned numerous times to myself (co-signer on lease) and my daughter (main signer and who paid the payments on the car) that my husband was adamant on returning the car and not buying it. I said "well, my husband is open for offers". When the sales rep. went to talk to the gentlemen sitting at the higher desk area, he came back with two pieces of papers. One paper with the monthly payments breakdown and the other to turn in the lease vehicle. Frank said again "it's straight forward." We reviewed the payments and my husband said "if you are not flexible with the sale/payments then we will turn in the car." Frank then asked "if we wanted to license plate." My husband said "sure" so he went out to remove the plate from the Cruze. While my husband was outside, Frank received a call to "extend our payments for 72 months making the payments $199." I said "adding another year of payments is not working with us." He goes "well, you will be out of a vehicle." I said "we already have plenty of vehicles keeping the Cruze would have been an extra car." He started to give us (my daughter and I) an attitude when he talked to us at that point. He gave us the impression he preferred dealing with gentlemen than dealing with women. Very sexist with an attitude! When Frank wrote up the paperwork, he had my name (co-signer) on everything and did not even knowledge my daughter (main signer), who made all of the payments on the leased vehicle. Then he looks directly at me and goes "Terry sign here and here." I said "who is Terry? My name is not Terry. Why would I sign when the vehicle is my daughter's?" He goes "it doesn't matter who signed, just sign". Really!!! As we were getting ready to leave, Frank goes, "I'd give you my business card but I know you won't be back." Again we were shocked at that point! I took his card so I remember to NEVER get him again. This was the first time we have ever be treated like this at North Star Chevy dealership! We are very disappointed and have second thoughts of even coming back. We bought numerous cars from North Star Chevy dealership in Moon Township, PA and have been very happy with our vehicles, the sales reps. and service dept. in the past. We even recommended my husband's cousin who paid cash and bought three vehicles (one being my husband loaded Silverado truck) within a short amount of time from the same dealership. Also, my daughter's boyfriend, works in the garage department too. So we had excellent experiences in the past and built good relationship with your dealership and sales reps as a whole.
