First of All, THIS Amazing place is Ridiculously Clean and tidy! No worries about being Grossed out! The charm and atmosphere is Very inviting and Lots to Check out. It has many cool Art pieces and some funny things to Appreciate. I knew I wanted to take my husband here even Before we were Married! Such a Cool and relaxing Vibe, we drove into Philly which was close to 35 minutes each direction. All of the Staff were friendly and welcoming. We tried a few appetizers to split since it has been closer to a decade since I've been here. The homemade pierogies, with Caramelized onions ^** chef's Kiss . Omg Spectacular !! We got an order of each of the pound of wings! One pound was Buffalo ((with a Very Nice Kick)) And the Ranch has fresh Dill and carrots and celery were a nice addition. The other pound of wings were their Sweet Thai Chili with chopped Peanuts ontop! No cilantro and both sets of wings, Well done! When I say....... Holy Smokes! I mean, both of these wings knocked our socks Off. delicious!! Compliments to the Chef!! ‍ we have already started planning our Return visit !! We also ordered a side of the Mac n cheese and that just set everything Off. mouthwatering and so flavorful! I was very sad when my ceramic crock was Empty. It has crunchy breadcrumbs ontop and a light garlic taste that's Not overpowering at all. Everything we ate complimented one another. We cannot wait to return and enjoy a full dinner! Today, was just some appetizers and some drinks! Our server was Johnny who was very down to earth and super nice. He encouraged us to walk around and check out the back room and back bar and said they also have a stage! We will definitely be Back Soon! Cannot wait to try more gems from their menu and enjoy our time together! See yall soon!

Food: Alright. My sandwich was good & flavorful. rather small. fries were yummy. Steak was good but not worth recommending. The drinks were well made. Service: Our service was great Ambiance: A bit of an odd vibe but cozy nonetheless

It's been awhile since I last returned for a dinner and catch up with friends at north 3rd. Once hard to find parking, now it's pretty easy on a Sunday evening. The neighborhoods have changed! The menu feels a lot smaller but they still offer similar items I ordered before and greatly enjoyed such as the clams or mussels, calamari and steak frites. Atmosphere is still dark, barely able to see your food. The services are excellent and attentive as usual. Highly recommended if you haven't tried yet!

Very quaint neighborhood corner restaurant. I've been back a number of times since moving to the neighborhood and I always have a great time. Food/Drinks: The menu is not extremely long and they rotate it with different specials menu on the daily. This restaurant is definitely great for brunch and dinner. I particularly think their brunch is better. Full bar (x2) and can make pretty much any drink you want. Their espresso martini is quite good. Neither expensive or cheap but right in the middle. Environment/Ambience: The interior is larger than it seems with a larger dining area with the bar and a smaller side room with more tables and another bar. The vibe is rustic and moody, especially in the side room, during night but quite festive during the day. They have approximately 4-6 outdoor tables that are slightly covered and heated. Staff is nice and knowledgeable of the menu. Parking can be potentially tough but it's a great spot to walk to if you live nearby! You can also reserve a table! Rating: 7/10 Recommendations: Wings, Espresso Martini

I came here for brunch with my mom, brothers and sister for Mother's Day. The hostess was very kind and helped us with my mom who has trouble walking. Another staff person came over to help us when we were getting into the dining room. Our server, Alyssa, was also very good. She was so pleasant! The food was really good. My sister and I had the apple pie French toast. It was very tasty with a little crunch from the crushed cornflakes. It was dipped in. It had apples, nuts, and whipped cream. I could've used a few more apples because I really like the fruit other than that, it was fantastic. My mom had the breakfast burrito. It was huge and she really enjoyed it. My brother had the apple arugula salad with chicken. That was also very good. I love that they had a couple of choices for mimosas. You could choose from guava, orange juice, peach or mango juice. The guava mimosa was delicious. Some outside seating is available. We sat inside. The decor is unique. The ceiling had bird and butterfly fabric sculptures that were really cool. It had a very relaxed vibe. two gender, neutral bathrooms.

Great food and drinks! Happy hour 4-6 with great food specials, and the outdoor seating is awesome when the weather is nice! The Mac and cheese (side) is bomb - usually big enough to split between 2-3 or keep all to yourself! I am not usually a fan of buffalo, but the Buffalo tempura cauliflower is a must. We were a little disappointed with the pierogis and the eggplant fries - both were pretty bland and could've used a little more salt or seasoning. Also a big fan of the fried chicken sandwich!

Visited my sister last weekend in Philly. We were looking for brunch options, and based on my Yelp search, this place popped up with great reviews. I made a reservation online, but I'm sure a walk-in would have been fine as well! The hostess was nice. We got seated in the back. Our server, Alyssa, was great. I wanted more lunch food versus breakfast. I got the honey dip chicken sandwich with a generous helping of fries, and it was really good. My sister had the omlette and she enjoyed it. I tried the hibiscus mezcalrita, and it was pretty good. There's a full bar! I like that they change their menu daily! When visiting Philly, I'll come back : )

I had a very OK experience here. The wings were the highlight of the meal. We got both the Thai Chili Wings (7/10) and the Buffalo Wings (7/10) and then it was a bit downhill from there. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles and the chicken as you can see from the pics was mostly breading and on top of that it was burnt to a crisp. The waffle itself was good (7/10) but I was disappointed that I couldn't enjoy them together. Then there was the biscuit debacle. I ordered a side biscuit that never came and when the waiter found out she mentioned she would take it off the bill. Then it finally came and it was burned and borderline inedible. That really was the cherry on top for the meal. I'm not sure that I would be back based on my experience here.

I have been to North Third for dinner before (amazing), but this was my first time for brunch - it was equally amazing, maybe even better! I had Bee's Breakfast Croissant. It was amazing. Sometimes a croissant can't hold a sandwich well but this one did. I also didn't realize this came with the gravy fries, which typically at other places I am not a fan of, but here they were delicious. My wife got something else that I can't remember but here's a pic. She liked it too I'm pretty sure since this is on the list for us to return to! The service was very fast and attentive. Never an empty glass waiting for a fresh beer. The ambiance is also one of my favorites. It's the homey bar you've been looking for. As Beyoncé put it - this is "dive bar we always thought was nice", or something of the likes. Love this place. Also this was the first place I have ever had clam chowder that wasn't in a can but that was a couple years ago. Very good stuff.

This place is officially a staple and a restaurant I honestly dine at once a week, every week. Food, service, drinks, and ambiance are always consistent and 10/10! I've ordered some new dishes since my last review, including: Traditional French Onion Gratin, Autumn Squash Soup, Old School Salad, Chicken cutlet Parmesan sandwich, Moroccan spiced lamb burger, Seared Jail Island Salmon and Roasted Free Range Chicken Breast. The chicken cutlet parm sandwich and salmon salad were very memorable. You honestly cannot go wrong with any of their food.

Philly, we are not welcome here…read more Meet Henry, the manager at Fringe Bar. As a Northern Liberties resident, I've visited Fringe Bar several times and have generally enjoyed the experience before my recent experience with the manager. Unfortunately, my visit on June 13 around 4:30 PM completely changed my opinion of this establishment. My friend and I were seated and waited nearly 20 minutes before our food order was taken. Our server explained that their ordering system had gone down.... We were understanding and patient but to be honest it felt like she forgot. About 10 minutes later, we finally received our drinks, and our server shared that management had continued assigning her additional tables despite the issues, making it difficult for her to keep up. We sympathized with her and gave the staff plenty of grace. After waiting another 30 minutes, nearly an hour total since arriving, we still had not received our food. What made the situation even more frustrating was watching another table that arrived roughly 30 minutes after us receive their meals before we did. At that point, I approached Henry to ask about our order. I explained that we had been waiting for nearly an hour and that guests who arrived significantly later had already been served and they needed to hurry up with our food because we were hungry. Before I could even finish speaking, Henry interrupted me, stated that he would comp the food, and told us to leave. All I wanted was an explanation and asked that our order be prioritized after such a long wait. Instead of attempting to resolve the issue, Henry immediately escalated the situation and effectively removed us from the restaurant. The interaction felt dismissive, unprofessional, and completely lacking in customer service. Even another manager appeared surprised by how quickly our order was canceled and how the situation was handled. The entire experience left me feeling unwelcome and disrespected. Mistakes happen. Delays happen. What determines whether customers return is how management responds. Unfortunately, Henry's arrogance, poor communication, and inability to handle a reasonable customer concern ensured that I will never return. The attached photos include timestamps documenting our visit and the lengthy wait and a photo of Henry so you can avoid him. DO NOT COME.

We sat in the outdoor garden on an unusually pleasant July afternoon (by Philly standards). It was very comfortable, even though the restaurant was full. I placed a reservation for 5 PM on a Friday, and as SOON as I walked in until I finished my meal, I…read moresaid countless times that I would def be back. The food that I had at this restaurant and the entire dining experience has got to be the best I've ever had in Philly. It's funny how many times I passed this place and never even noticed. It's semi in the cut, especially if you're only ever driving past, like I usually am. This restaurant is farm to table dining, which I absolutely love. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I prefer & appreciate fresh food. The menu runs on seasonal basis (which is the best way to eat) and they source from local farms both in the Philadelphia and New Jersey area! I simply could not decide what I wanted to eat since the appetizers, entrees and sides all looked so yummy. During this dine in I didn't get any appetizers (which is ironic actually) but I ordered the branzino that came with fried cauliflower and white bean purée, the slow braised spiced lamb bolognese, and the cornbread. The lamb bolognese was absolutely delicious. This was one of the things where the photo of the food matches EXACTLY how delicious you think it would be. I am not someone who generally opts for pasta at a restaurant (cuz ehhh boring) but it was delicious and the pasta is made fresh daily (my partner ordered this dish) and I will need to make my way to have it all for myself (soon)! The branzino. Fish is a scary one for me to order because I have been let down to many times. I make a post semi recently about the awful branzino I had at "Cry baby pasta" so I was nervous to see how well this played out (if at all). The dish was great! There's this caper salad that tasted just like chimichurri that paired amazingly well with the fish, there were slices of both orange and grapefruit on the dish, and the white beans and cauliflower together were great! Everything on the dish was extremely flavorful, fresh and paired well together. I ordered a gimlet or as it's called on the menu "Sicilian" which is a gin based drink that I had just heard of for the first time a few days prior and I was doing some research and saw that the drink should pair well with the dish. I was doing my own food and drink pairing if you will! When I went to order the server even said it would pair well together, she really knew her stuff! The cornbread was okay- I am a huge fan of cornbread and this one just wasn't my fav. It also was semi rough around the edges. It wasn't bad at all, I've just had much much better tender & softer cornbreads which are my preference. In terms of costing, which I generally don't speak much about in my reviews- for a farm to table dining experience I thought the cost was good! Usually, farm to table prices are quite expensive and experiences you wanna put aside for a "special occasion". I'm really glad I stumbled upon a farm to table restaurant, with a seasonal menu that was affordable- making me feel that I can indulge more frequently than compared to others. I really look forward to trying other items on the menu as everything really was up to my speed. The dessert menu also featured seasonal items but, I decided to close my eyes and be a good girl when it came to desert this day and didn't really pay attention, but I would love to indulge my next time around. Our server was also great! It's a bummer that I didn't catch her name. The hospitality was amazing! From both our server, the manager and all others we spoke to during our visit. My partner recently read "Unreasonable Hospitality" and now every dining experience is met with our internal agenda and standards now due to this book of how things should be and the way we wanna "feel" while dining. I mean, cmon, how many times have you been out to eat, paid your hard earned money and felt awful afterwards due to how you've been treated? (Or ignored). Solid spot! I would recommend~

Honestly - I wanted to love this place, but it didn't hit all the way home for me. What it did hit home for me were the vibes. I loved the interior decor, the small homey vibes , and I could feel the love and passion that went into this place. Small inside, cozy, and I think I only saw a total of 3 staff that ran the place. I really wanted to love them! To be perfectly honest, I'm probably not the best reviewer for this spot. I eat 80% vegan .. and cannot not remember the last time I had beef prior to this meal. However - I didn't find it to be particularly mind blowing. It was cooked to a good temperature , served with salt for you to tailor to your taste and oh I can't forget to mention how much I loved the chefs homemade hot sauce ( which they do sell on site ! ) it was solid , but not something I was personally blown away by for $90 and not something I'd "cheat" on my diet for again to eat. I felt similarly about the striped bass. It was cooked well, but I found it under seasoned. Overall, I don't think it's the spot for me but I DO think it's the spot for many. I definitely recommend you check out this small humble restaurant and give them a shot. It's beautiful and warm inside, and you can feel the love in this establishment Check out Elwood!
