North Valley Gym is a great place to take your little ones on open gym days for a fun and safe time! My grandkids just love the many opportunities to get their wiggles out. My daughter has been attending NVG since she was 3. She's now 9 and on the girls competitive team. The program director is extremely disorganized, does not communicate well and all the parents from her team are frustrated. She gives no feedback to parents on the athlete's progress and how they can improve. The pick up process following practice is ridiculous as 5 teams get out at the same time and traffic is backed up out to the road yet we cannot pick up our child anywhere else. This has been reported to management several times as an issue but nothing has changed. Also, the clock in the gym is 8 minutes late. It's the big joke and no one will fix it. This means practice gets out late and parents are just waiting. Find a gym where the coaches are organized and communicative. It will benefit your athlete and your sanity. read more

So I came here years ago, when I was younger. Just decided to give a rating since it was my legitimate experience. 1 star because the main reason why I quit was because I felt like I wasn't wanted by my instructors here. I accidentally kicked my instructor in the eye(obviously on accident) when she was teaching me swinging on the bars, I understand you feeling irritated about something like that happening. But I was a child, I didn't mean to be rude to any of my instructors but the older lady definitely made me feel like I wasn't welcome anymore. She barely wanted to teach me like she did with everyone else because of that incident when I kicked a little too far when I was swinging on the bar. I wish I could have continued gymnastics but these people genuinely made me dislike the sport. Regarding the top comment, delusional Theresa assumes people who write reviews just wanna have a better day putting someone down? since when is having experience at a place and rating it makes someone crazy? I recently took my almost 3 year old Daughter here for her first introduction to Gymnastics, she loves jumping, climbing, running and bouncing around. The Teacher was calm and worked well with us on our first time learning all the routines, making my daughter feel comfortable and safe. There are a few bad reviews of this place which I NEVER base my opinion on. There are ALWAYS a few crazy folks who have to post a bad review so they feel better about themselves. I called Thursday inquiring about getting my 21 month old in for classes. He's Not been exposed to anything really because of stupid Covid. So here we are trying to get him involved so he can learn communication, interaction, direction, and relationships. My phone call to get info was great. The gal I spoke w set me up w his first "free" class after I filled out online forms. I called three times and each time I spoke w the same person who was so helpful and so awesome. By my third call I apologized...she was so welcoming! The third time I called was to ask if spectators were allowed because his Noni and Nono wanted to see him interact w others and see how he was in his first class. He went on a 10am Saturday "Mover" class and loved it. Teacher was awesome Class size was under 10 It was well worth the price! All places have at least one negative review which I typically relate to someone that's not normal This place is pretty awesome based on our first time and the few phone calls I made to them asking questions. Excellent gym!!! We love the coaches, Miss Melissa, Miss Susan and coach Allee and Kat especially!!! The facility is getting a new paint job which looks really nice! Sometimes parking can be tricky but coming a little early is a small price to pay for the fantastic classes they offer! Make up policies are accommodating and I met really nice people every time I came here. Last but not least, Christie at the front desk is super friendly and always helpful and kind, one of our favorite people here! We highly recommend this place!!! read more

I took my son to a birthday party at NVG over the weekend and was impressed with the clean, spacious facility and the friendly staff... This was the first time I'd been to a party where kids were told to go into the gym solo... no parents. Parents could view everything from upstairs. Once my son saw where I'd be and how much fun the kids were having downstairs, he happily joined and didn't look back. It was an open gym format with plenty of staff, and he jumped on the trampoline, swung on a rope, ran around a ton, and played in the foam pit... If I lived closer, I'd definitely look into classes for my kids at this gym! read more

I had the opportunity to visit the gym this past weekend for my son's gymnastics competition (6 medals and yes I'm bragging),nice facility. Not only was everything clean, well lit, and spacious. It also had seating upstairs that allowed you to see the whole gymnasium without blocking the view of the other parents. I'd also like to add that the fact the gym didn't smell like feet was definitely an added bonus. They had concessions, I didn't see a vending machine but I suspect there was one somewhere close, all of the staff(I'm not sure if they worked for the facility or were working at the facility) were friendly and helpful as well. We love going to open gym at this place! I take my niece, which you are able to do if you have the parents sign a waiver form giving you permission. We go on Monday mornings from 12:30-1:30. The kids are able to run around the gym and use any equipment they want. They have a slide going into a foam pit that she loves. And the trampoline runway is so much fun! The parents are allowed in during open gym and are responsible for watching their own kids. It's always a bit chaotic, but is a real blast! They put out stuffed animals, jingle bells that can go around their ankles when they jump, and parachutes and hula hoops for the kids to play with. Open gym is typically 5 dollars a session (you only pay per child, not adult. Babies do count as a person to pay for). We did the punch card, which actually gets you 5 sessions for 20 dollars. I think this is SUPER affordable and it is such a great way for them to burn off energy. read more

I am really impressed with this gym! Both of my girls go here (ages 7 & 4) and we've been coming for 1.5 years. They pay really close attention to the kids abilities and the coaches we've experienced are great. I kind of feel like I love here - 2 nights a week for 2 hours each time - but my kids really enjoy it so it's worth it! They definitely push the kids which to really like to see. My husband took my son to North Valley Gymnastics for a bday party. Since then, he kept telling me how much more I would like North Vally Gymnastics than Arizona Sunrays. Finally, today I took my son here for a trail class. And I must write that I am impressed with the facility and the instructors. The building and equipments are new. The lobby is large and spacious. The staff behind the counter greets you warmly. The open area where all the gymnasts practice are open with fantastic ventilation. There is a spacious open to below mezannine area where parents can sit and view their kids with comfort. There is also another smaller area down the hallway where you can watch your kids too. Overall, I'm very impressed. I'm still loyal to Arizona Sunrays since the 2 years my son was there he's always had a good time with good instructors so I'm on the fence about switching . . . . If you've never been here, it's definitely worth checking out! read more

Our Daughter started in October 2017, she went onto the competition team. She was only getting scores of 32 out of 40 at old gym. From October 2017, to February of 2018 her scores are up to a 38.7 out of 40. She has taken 1st all around at the last 4 meets, and she is only 8 yrs old. I'm not sure how they do it, but the coaches they have here are all diamonds. They love the girls, they believe in team building. We give NVG a 100 out of 10. There boys program is also really strong.... I promise if your daughter loves gymnatics bring her here and sit back and watch. read more

I have 2 sons that have attended North Valley Gymnastics seasonally when we have time for them to go. Both of my boys started when they were 2 years old. We try to make sure they get at least 3 months a year at NVG. If we had more money and time I would have them go 6-9 months a year. My boys are now 3 and 6 years old. They both started with kinder gym with Susan and then they progressed to be with Tony. My boys love working with Tony, and I am very pleased with his class and how he interacts with all the kids. I bring my kids to open gym on Wednesdays. It's a great way to let them burn off some energy but minimal interaction with other kids. Very much independent, chaotic play. But fun! A bit pricey, they don't offer annual membership, and they charge even for little baby siblings that are held by mom the whole time. Unfortunately it's closed during the summer months when you actually NEED an indoor play environment. read more

I have been taking my daughter here for over a year, she started out at the kindergym and has liked it so much she has moved up to the Rec classes. She loves it, and I do too. Loooooove this place!!! My daughters coach is amazing and always in a positive mood that rubs off on all! It's also very clean. Recently i put my older child in school a couple days only for a couple hours to also give my other child a little one on one time but it's a little too far from school for me to drive so I've tried two other gymnastics places close to the school and no one can touch north valley. If you are looking for a gym that is more concerned about their reputation then your kid - well sign up! I had a boy and a girl on their team. My daughter's confidence was destroyed and it took almost 6 months to rebuild her self-esteem (new coaches have worked hard to turn her around). My son got burnt out with the intensity of the mens coach (he's 10). Luckily, both kids are in good spots now. Don't go here. There are many other gyms in the valley and yes, the facilities are beautiful but not worth the toll on your kids' psyche. read more

Went in here today to check on classes for my daughter. The reason this got 3 stars is because of how nice the facility is, beautiful place. The prices are high and if you don't look like there normal high end clientele be prepared to be talked down to. Felt like they didn't want to take the time to talk to me... Fantastic staff and great trainers. This is our 3rd year and we would never consider going anywhere else.

We started classes at NVG when my daughter was 2 years old. She started in a parent participation class (Movers) and then at 3 years moved into her first gymnastics class without mom (Jumpers). For both of those classes, she had Coach Susan. She is excellent with the little ones. In the Movers class, Coach Susan not only provides instruction to the children, but also to the parents, guiding them and encouraging positive interactions that will help children feel comfortable and confident as they move through different activities and equipment. At 3.5 my daughter was invited to move into Twisters. In this class, she has worked with Coach Allie, Coach Amber, and Coach Melissa who are all very good at understanding the developmental progression of gymnastics skills. They make class fun while really pushing the girls to achieve the next step. They laugh and joke with the girls while still expecting them to work hard. That's one thing I really love. They can have fun and be silly sometimes but don't allow it to interfere with the lessons. NVG has equipment suitable for toddlers through high school age students. There are bars, rings, springboards, and beams of various sizes and some are even quickly adjusted mid-lesson depending on student need and the lesson being taught. They also have a tumble track (long trampoline) that ends at a large foam pit, which is a definite kid favorite. In addition to classes, NVG offers two open gym options for toddlers and preschoolers during the week. At only $5 per visit (or 5 for $20 punch card), it's a very affordable way to try out the equipment and meet some of the coaches and staff. They also offer free trial classes. If you are in North Phoenix, I would strongly recommend this gym. Coaches can make or break a gymnastics class, and the ones we've had at NVG have been excellent. read more

I took my girls for a trial class in TNT (tumbling and trampoline) and a pre-k gymnastics class. The facilities were nice, large, and very clean. They had a upstairs spacious viewing area of the gym floor and a children's waiting area. My real disappointment is the classes. The tumbling class was co-ed, mixed levels, and an age range of 6-14 YO. There was one instructor for a class of 8-15 (I don't remember) students. The hour long lesson was divided by: 1/4 warm up, 1/4 going over the drills/stations, and the rest of the time on the trampoline. The Kids were separated into groups and station. To summarize, both classes reminded me of a P.E. class. My daughter did have fun in tumbling, but my pre-k gymnast was bored and indifferent towards her class. My overall impression is kids at the beginning level will get treated like cattle. read more

My daughter attended NVG for a number of yeas, it has been an amazing experience for us. They have taught her so much. The wonderful staff and coaches is as good as it gets, their professionalism, experience, the way they teach is excellent. My daughter has learned so much in their programs. I take some little one's to the KinderGym there and it is a great program. The layout of the gym is great as well as the Parent viewing zones. I must say, in the upstairs viewing space and the actual gym, it is super cold. They also have a very large boys program which is nice to see. read more

Rudest people ever. I tried to sign up my 3 year old daughter for the movers class and the lady grilled me about her being potty trained. Which she is by the way, and I told her that. She kept insinuating that she isn't and maybe she should wait. Wont be going there EVER. I had heard from a friend that they are very rude and should have listened. read more

I am really happy with this gym so far and I really want to rave about 2 of the male coaches. The first coach (Robert) has been really good about encouraging my niece to try different things, especially when she was scared or nervous. And even if she doesn't quite do it 100% he gives her a big smile and a thumbs up for trying. He has been fabulous with my son as well. The other coach (with the colored hair!) has a very sweet, gentle nature and my son just adores him as well. I am very impressed with what they are teaching him at this level (very beginner). However.....the lady with the dark hair behind the counter is a grumpy snag! No friendliness and no personality! read more

We enrolled our 4.5 y/o daughter in the beginner's class and experienced simple disaster. 6 different coaches were introduced to her in 3 classes that she attended. I don't think that any of them even remembered her name. Most of them didn't pay attention to kids after swiftly explaining them what to do. I could see my daughter completely lost, browsing around and not being interested in class at all. After 15 min into third class I decided to pull her out as the coach #6 was "in training" and not showing ANY passion and putting NO effort toward girls in the class. We switched to different place paying $10 more for the monthly tuition; boy it was worth it. If you are a mom or a dad that will spend most of your kids gymnastics class on your iPhone or iPod, not caring what is happening on the floor; North Valley Gymnastics is right place to go. read more

Recently our flight home from Arizona to Illinois was cancelled leaving us in Phoenix for two extra days. While this would normally be a good problem in the month of March for midwesterners, we have two competitive gymnasts preparing for state and regional meets, so to miss practice the week of the meet was concerning for them both. As parents we were concerned about their safety returning directly to a competition and not being in the gym the week before. I blindly contacted North Valley Gymnastics after finding it online. Everyone I spoke with was more than understanding and accommodating to our situation. They welcomed our gymnasts into their gym and practices with open arms. We were all incredibly impressed with the facility, the organization of the practices and the staff (front desk to coaches). We were also blown away that the coaches not only welcomed our kids into their practices (while they too were preparing their gymnasts for important end of the season meets), but they also worked individually with our kids without even knowing them, taking time to coach them on each event. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone! My son, who is 3, was left alone during one of the kid's camps during the summer. He fell onto the concrete and hit his head. Instead of calling, they put him alone, separated from his brother and the rest of the group for 2 hours. When I asked why, the girl said that it was because he wouldn't stop crying and asking for me. She was upset at what the other clients would think if they heard him crying. I was SO upset. Not only because they didn't call right after it happened, but because she left him alone for the incident to occur and then was afraid of the consequences. We will NEVER take our kids to this place and would highly recommend you not either. read more

My 9 year daughter attended North Valley's summer camp program this last year and let me tell you I will do it again and again. She absolutely loved it. Not only was the staff kind and accommodating but they taught her new and exciting things in the world of gymnastics. AMAZING Gym! AMAZING staff! Actually, the staff here treats you like family, and it's a joy to watch them work with your child. My daughter has been attending North Valley Gymnastics for years. The T&T program and coaches are second to none, and the recreational cheer program is singly responsible for building my daughter's confidence for try-out's for her High School's top-rated team (which she made!) as an incoming Freshman. Every coach we've interacted with here is the perfect blend of nurturing and motivating. It's a gift to be able to do that without destroying a child's self esteem, and I have to assume that when potential staff are interviewed, this is the number one requirement. As a mom, I love being able to have a completely unobstructed view of everything my daugher is doing in this pristine gym from the awesome upstairs balcony. That is when I'm not totally distracted watching the Senior boys gymnastics team working out--we're talking Olympic level skills here! Honestly, if this is the kind of talent they're turning out, why would I take my child anywhere else? You shouldn't either! Absolutely incredible. If I could give ten stars I would. The staff and facility are the best around! From the state of the art equipment to the Nationally recognized coaching, you could not find a better gym to either start your toddler or train your future Olympian. There are special events like Open Gym on Friday nights where everyone can be a gymnast for the night with supervision and pizza. You can even host the perfect birthday party where the staff does all of the work while you sit and watch from the second floor deck with a view of the entire gym. outstanding gym. I have two daughters in the competitive Junior Olympics team and they both thrive here, after coming from another nearby gym that was run down. Team coaches are top notch. Facility is fantastic. The only (small) complaint I have that it is not cheap, as gyms go, and that their front desk staff can be a tiny bit on the surly side depending on how much work they have to process that day (which I understand, and they do try hard). I'm not entirely sure that one of the owners even likes kids all that much, she seems to be the "number head" of the gym, but that is more than made up for by the other owner and by the amazing coaches. They have had a very high turnover in recent months but that's not all that unusual for gyms either. Overall, they get results, my kids are in top shape and have a competitive edge because of them. read more
