What an amazing HIIt class! Background for me I tore my ACL a few years ago and have had trouble getting back into my gymnast physique and muscle memory. While I was not able to do everything exactly the way the circuit was set up I was able to modify everything with Sonya's help and stay moving the whole time!(average heart rate 162) I really enjoyed using the Ropes and doing box jumps. I tried this gym hesitantly two years ago, as my husband had been going for 6 months and was always raving about how awesome the workouts were, how nice and helpful the trainers were, and how I just had to try it. I joined during a challenge month and my goal was to try to tone up a little. I had two young boys, 4 and 1 at the time, and felt like I had a mom body and felt healthy, but didn't have much self-confidence in my look. Little did I know that besides reaching my fitness goals, this gym would end up a place where I have made amazing lifelong friendships and a place I really feel at home. Besides the incredibly effective workouts, (I am still sore every single week!!) I love the community TruHit provides. They have outreach events, they welcome and encourage new members, there are group mud runs, we have so much fun with this community of members with so many different events going on each month. It feels like "Cheers," when you walk in, and are welcomed and feel loved like you belong. You get your ass kicked in the gym, and yet you can't wait to come back the next day for another workout and camaraderie among friends. I love how the workouts are never the same, you get a fresh upper body, lower body, or total body workout each time you come. You are constantly challenged by trainers to up your game if you look like you are handling the regular workout with no problem. I dropped from 23% body fat down to 14% and have so much more lean muscle and less flubb! I used to wear a size 8/10 and now wear a size 4/6. Besides that, I feel great about myself, and that is something that is hard to come by! I highly recommend checking out this gym! I decided to try Truhit when a friend suggested I come and try it it out for one of their FREE challenge months. I couldn't believe a gym would let you come and work out for FREE for a whole month with no strings attached. I almost didn't go because i didn't believe it was true. I thought for sure i would be guilt tripped into signing a contract or buying products I couldn't afford. That definitely was NOT the case. I never have once felt pressured into buying anything at Truhit. (Although their shakes and teas are pretty bomb!!) They offer a free month challenge every other month to new members because they KNOW that you'll get hooked. And it's totally true because that's exactly what happened to me. One huge thing that prevented me from signing up for a gym was childcare. Leaving my boys with a stranger to watch over them? Nope! Well here comes Miss Stacy. Stacy is there for EVERY class that they offer childcare. 1: She is amazing with kids, she can make my own kids stop crying/behave when i even can't 2. She's also a Mom. She knows what she's doing! 3. She is reliable and she is a constant in childcare. My boys felt much more comfortable seeing the same, familiar face every day. Having someone working childcare that you can trust is just a huge weight lifted off your shoulders, especially for those moms that hate to leave their kids (like me). It's nice to know your kids are in good hands and you can go and fully enjoy your workout. We parents deserve it. We all deserve "me time". So to begin, I first started at Truhit I was 10 weeks postpartum with my 2nd Baby and I was feeling very low. I used my pregnancy as an excuse to stop working out and ate whatever my cravings told me to eat. I was 40+lbs over my "normal weight". Just miserable. My days of being an athlete appeared so far behind me and it really dragged me down. It was a huge low for me. I started working out at Truhit and it became my little "me time" for the day. I started to see changes in my body but most importantly in my mindset. I felt happier, healthier, more confident. I would leave the gym feeling like I accomplished something and it just turned a switch in my attitude. I've met some pretty incredible, inspiring, strong people at this "gym" that have become good friends. I hate to even call it a gym because it's so much more than that, it's a community. People are friendly here, we talk, we encourage, we cheer each other on, we care for each other... it's just a special place. The owner Mike is such an awesome guy. You can tell he tries really hard to get to know every one of his members and to make them feel welcome and comfortable here. Ok so the workouts! The workouts are awesome, and all levels of strength/ages/workout experience can do them. Seriously. As you get stronger you just increase weights/intensity or even add moves for extra challenge. There's always a trainer there to push you, help guide, make sure your form is correct or even help with a modification if your strength is not quite there to do a certain exercise. Each day of the week is designated to working out certain muscle groups, but the workouts are always changing. You'll never repeat a workout routine in the same week. Or even month. It's always changing, challenging your muscles along the way. So if you made it this far and read this novel, I will close it out with this. I am not one to write a review on Yelp, let alone something of this length. But I just seriously love this place and I want others to experience it too! I know many people just don't like to exercise but they do it anyways because they want to be healthy.. maybe this place will make you love to exercise. I love TruHit! I was working out on my own at a gym before and had ok results, but since starting TruHit about 2 and a half months ago, I've lost about an inch in my thighs and hips. I love that each workout is different and keeps your heart rate up. Too bad I'm leaving the Phoenix area because I would love to stay there long term. I definitely recommend. read more

I started by doing the May challenge and at first I was a little skeptical. I didn't like how there was only 1 coach for about 20 people. Most of us were new and didn't really know the workouts and wasn't sure if we were doing something wrong and can cause an injury. But as time went on and getting familiar with the workouts, I felt myself enjoying it more and more. I started to enjoy the music they played, how they know my name now, how they encourage you and making friends with some of the members. I went to Truhit North Phoenix for 3 months on a Groupon and it was a great experience. The WOD gets looked upon very well that you get to work on non-repetitive workouts each day of the week. I started working out here a year ago. It's motivating, high intensity get yourself fit fast. I use to be able to workout on my own but now I have motivational issues. This place is okay. The instructors are not all on the same level of expertise, caring about form, or even interest in their job. None of the instructors cared to even learn my name....went to eight clssses. Some instructors spend most of the time walking around talking with friends. What is most frustrating is that the schedule is not updated to reflect who is teaching. Every class has Travis on the schedule but he does not teach very often anymore at this location. I even emailed about this issue amd was told that the instructors have other jobs and their schedules change. I don't know any other studio or gym that does this. I want to know who is teaching so I can avoid going to a lackluster instructor that is not going to make sure I am safely completing the workout. read more

My favorite place! I've been coming since the beginning of this year, 2015 and seeing great results. I belong to la fitness still but joined the gym here and get a better workout than I ever have. They have a different routine every time I come, never gets boring but always pushes me hard enough. I use the Herbalife program as well and it's nice to grab a shake after my workouts, with so many different flavor options. read more

I love truhit and usually attend the northsite location which is amazing!! However, this location does not hold the same level of customer service. If you are 5 minutes late to class they won't let you in. For a gym that's $119 a month that's ridiculous. read more

If I could give more than five stars on for this specific location, I would. I have been here for nearly two years; Truhit Fitness North Phoenix has been life changing for myself and family. Far and away, the best shape I have ever been in. Owner is patient and attentive, instructors are watchful and constructive in feedback and corrections, admin is communicative and welcoming and the members are on another level in condition and creativity to increase the intensity of the workout. No one is ever stagnant but always challenging the status quo physically, mentally and professionally. If you are wanting results and a positive support network, this is the place to be. read more

My review is based solely upon customer service at this location. I refuse to give a place business if they can't even go a little bit out of their way to accommodate a customer. I have been a long time member of orange theory fitness and Bodyvision but was hoping to switch over to this gym because it is so much closer to home. My boyfriend and I signed up for the 30 day challenge last year. We went to the very first class where you weigh in, take measurements and do the 1 mile run, push ups and sit ups for measurement. After that first class, life got the best of us and we weren't able to go to any of the actual classes. With about two weeks left, Mike (the current owner) emailed us and was wondering why we hadn't made it in and if there was anything he could do. I kindly explained that we hadn't made it to a single class because our personal lives got too hectic and time got away from us. This was our fault and not his, but asked if we could join the next 30 day challenge so we could be able to fully see the results. He gave us a pretty stern no and said corporate doesn't allow customers to do the challenge twice. I again explained that we didn't do the challenge and in fact, we didn't cost his gym a penny because we didn't even go to one class. He still stood strong on not giving us a second chance. I used to work for a corporate office and I understand rules, but I also know that you can make an exception to accommodate a customer. Especially a customer who has already expressed that she wants to switch to the gym permanently. The only remedy that was offered to us was the ability to buy the groupon to try the place out. I told him that I didn't want to pay for a month without even knowing what it entailed and told him I was kindly declining and would stay at my current gym. Mike said "No worries. I did my best to make an exception and allow the Groupon". **Just a heads up for those doing the challenge. The parking lot is a disaster. It's tiny and you end up having to park all the way down Rose Garden. They won't allow you to enter the classes late, so make sure you plan ahead** read more

Truhit runs a pretty decent program and the workouts are good. I also think even though they push the MML supplements, they do not do it in a pushy way at all and have really perfected how to put it in the business plan. My gripe would be with their customer service. I am very fair and when I joined I asked if there was a program for sending referrals. After not hearing back for a while i was finally told that they have created a program to get a free month with every referral that had joined....I was told to get them a list of the 10-12 people I had sent them, which i did never to hear back for about a month, i asked again what the progress was on this...It seemed when i asked no one knew what was going on even though they had confirmed they got my multiple emails on the subject. Finally, one of the owners told me that he would get around to it and would review that day. I never heard back from anyone since then (over 3 months ago), howver I noticed that I did get 2 months free. That is nice that they did that, but the customer service I would expect is someone telling me what i am getting and when....Not to mention there were a lot more than 2 people I referred who joined. I dont expect a lot, but if they would have just said up front without setting that expectation, i would not have pushed the subject. Still to this day, no one has ever told me what is going on with this progress and what I did or did not get. I still go as the workouts are good and I like Travis and his workouts...He really is thier biggest asset! All in all i expect better communication and customer service from a franchise that has multiple locations. read more

The staff at this location are incredibly friendly and accommodating. Definitely a great workout for people of any fitness level. They have been great at working with my previous injuries and providing modification. No bias against newbies or limitations here, as I experienced at their Old Town Scottsdale location.
