    Huge gym space!
    Gabi M.

I took my son to a birthday party at NVG over the weekend and was impressed with the clean, spacious facility and the friendly staff... This was the first time I'd been to a party where kids were told to go into the gym solo... no parents. Parents could view everything from upstairs. Once my son saw where I'd be and how much fun the kids were having downstairs, he happily joined and didn't look back. It was an open gym format with plenty of staff, and he jumped on the trampoline, swung on a rope, ran around a ton, and played in the foam pit... If I lived closer, I'd definitely look into classes for my kids at this gym!

I had the opportunity to visit the gym this past weekend for my son's gymnastics competition (6 medals and yes I'm bragging),nice facility. Not only was everything clean, well lit, and spacious. It also had seating upstairs that allowed you to see the whole gymnasium without blocking the view of the other parents. I'd also like to add that the fact the gym didn't smell like feet was definitely an added bonus. They had concessions, I didn't see a vending machine but I suspect there was one somewhere close, all of the staff(I'm not sure if they worked for the facility or were working at the facility) were friendly and helpful as well. Until next time. Peace.

How much does it cost per Gymnast to get in?

It all depends on the class, and what the age of the child is. They have a schedule/pricing sheet on their website.

I was pleasantly surprised when Bailee streamlined the process without any pressure. She also offered me free trials of membership benefits like the red light therapy and the brand new cold plunge! Bailee was so friendly and helpful in assisting me in deciding on how to proceed with my membership choices in a non committal way like I wanted. A gentleman named Jake gave us a tour and was very respectful of the limited amount of time I had to spend on the tour. He also explained all about the included classes and ammeneties available at each location! A great part about Mountainside fitness is that they allow 12-year-olds to join so that means my daughter can come with me! I could not find another gym in the area that allows children under 13 to attend so I was really pleased at this privilege. I also liked that all the memberships allow you to go to any location.! I'm really grateful that Bailee was there to help, being that she was so knowledgeable on the membership options and perks! P.s. I love the cold plunge!

Although this is a strongman man gym, they are very open to anyone looking to get an intense workout. Come in ready to bust your ass. I fell in love with this small, 3,000 sq. ft. gym after my very first workout. They have everything from light to heavy free weights, tires, sleds, traditional weights, sledges, etc. Most people that come in here are either strongman competitors, professional firefighters(Scott, the owner, is a PFDFirefighter and Arizona Strongman), or just people looking to push themselves in a gym with just the necessities and none of the frills. They offer small lockers, a bathroom, towels, but not much else. This, in my opinion, is great for really getting down to business. It's no Lifetime Fitness where there are tvs and other meaningless distractions to detract you from a good workout, so don't expect to be pampered. The staff is very friendly, they are all in great shape and are there for the love of it. The membership rates are awesome as well, as it is month to month and no contracts. All in all, if you want to push yourself, whether it be heavier weights or better results, I would recommend this place 100%. I have never trained with Scott, but from watching him train other people, I have no doubt in my mind he will push you to your limits, and you will be grateful. Oh, and by the way, mind your manners and use your common sense here. Be respectful of the gym(come in ready to get down or get out), be mindful of others, and for God's sake, re-rack your weights and clean up after yourself! Not only will you lose your gym privileges, but you will have to pay a reinstatement fee to come back. This is no joke! Pick up after yourself, we are not your mothers. I will try and post a picture of all the gym rules, they are quite humorous, but they are there for a reason!

I liked the interaction with the coaches and the combine staff throughout the morning as they did a good job communicating with everyone as well as engaging the athletes. If you live on this side of town, I would recommend as an option to consider to next the athlete to the next level. It is expensive, yes, but worth every penny. Their approach is completely integrated - they will oversee nutrition, training, psychology, and recovery in a world class facility. They are extremely scientific and very cutting edge; their staff also contributes significantly to the research community. I was fortunate enough to live in the Phoenix are for 9 months and cannot speak well enough of their staff or their programs. You'll come to improve yourself and will end up drinking the kool aid! Once you get in the swing of things it's hard to get enough of this place, and I shockingly found myself actually looking forward to arriving there before sunrise 6 days a week (ok, a bit later on Saturdays). My physical condition and overall health improved at a breakneck pace and I had a blast doing it! If you're motivated and fortunate enough to train at AP here are a few tips: Chris Brown makes the world's tastiest post-workout shake, the nutritionist Simin Levinson is a wonderful person and an excellent cook, so take her advice on kitchen matters, and if you can get your massages done by Eric Ford, do so - it will hurt but the man is a truly gifted healer. I just cannot gush enough about this place. It is worth saving up for either for yourself or for your athletic kids!

However, her personal trainer is tired of the corporate issues at our current gym and said he is going to leave to do instructional training at "The Gym" Never heard of it... other than saying I'm going to the gym... lowercase. My wife and I discussed the situation. Do we stay at our current and work with the second best trainer or follow the best trainer.... After our workout this past Monday we decided to do a tour at THE GYM. We walked in and were greated nicely enough. They were a little apprehensive at first but seemed okay. We walked around a bit. We were impressed with the amount of equipment and so much less USELESS FLUFF like other gyms. This place is all about working out. This is awesome. Great. Sooo. my issue that I noticed is the lighting is WAY TOO DIM for proper safety and effectively seeing the function of each piece of equipment let alone seeing your form while using them. Some areas along what I think is the East wall were pitch black. My eyes were not aclimating to their "ambience". I understand the whole shadow and contrast of seeing muscle definition and people not wanting to be on "display" while working out but this lack of lighting is definately not helpful if you need a flashlight to see! At least when we were there, the music wasn't blarring like so many others had complained about, because if my wife can't hear her instructor, we will not be switching. Now if only the lighting would be addressed..... I would give 5 stars.
