Dr. Kung seemed annoyed by my questions and grew defensive when I asked about his reasoning -- I was simply trying to understand why my tooth couldn't be saved. He may have sensed the visit hadn't gone well, since he called afterward to check if I had further questions. Overall, he came across as not personable, defensive, and lacking in empathy. In the end, he did not even give me a prescription for the pain I had in my tooth. I had to go back and request it. All in all, I don't recommend this place. read more

Referral from another doctor for cracked tooth. They have a 3d xray machine which spins around 360 degrees. The first girl running the machine had no idea what she was doing. Didn't get the placement of the body right and faulty instructions on posture. Blamed it on the shoulders being too big. As the imaging head rotates it hit my shoulders. Didn't explain the correct placement and the killer was she forgot the lead body shield. I was too stupid to notice. Nice dose of ionizing radiation. The second time got the body position correct arms grabbing the handles. Third time a new person got the position still not right, only got half the tooth. They blamed it on the machine. Operator error. They resorted to a regular xray machine. They gave a discount after I complained they were charging for a 3d xray which they never used. Doc said some of the data was useful so partial charge. 4 xray doses, one unprotected. For a cracked tooth they cant treat. Not a good feeling of competence. They should practice on some boxes first instead of live patients. read more

I had a very frustrating experience with this dental office. After taking my payment, they became completely unresponsive. They did not return my calls, nor did they respond to my primary dentist's attempts to contact them. When I called to follow up, the staff refused to provide their names, which was concerning and unprofessional. It ultimately required my primary dentist stepping in directly just to obtain my report and X-rays -- records that should have been provided without issue. This lack of communication, transparency, and basic professionalism is unacceptable, especially in a healthcare setting where proper coordination of care is essential. Dr. Jason Kung is honestly the best endodontist I've ever been to. I just had a root canal done by him, and the whole experience was shockingly easy. He explained everything he was doing the entire time, checked in constantly, and made sure I was totally comfortable. I didn't feel any pain at all, which blew my mind because I was expecting the worst. Even though I was referred by my dentist, people should know you don't need a referral to see him. He specializes only in root canals -- not general dentistry -- so if you've got an abscess, intense tooth pain, or just know you need a root canal, you can go straight to him and save yourself a lot of stress and time. I was pleasantly surprised by the responsiveness of the office (via text, and it was a real person, not auto response). I even texted on the weekend and they still responded back. This office is very responsive. I am able to make appointments very smoothly and they also follow up to ask how is my tooth going after the treatment. Dr.Kung is very knowledgable and patient. My teeth had some cracks causing pain when biting on food and my general dentist was not sure if it requires canal treatment and recommends me to Dr.Kung. Dr. Kung explained two possible options: crown or canal treatment, but offered a simpler solution: smooth out the surface of the two teeth so they don't take too much pressure when biting on food. it worked great. after the fix, I no longer feel the pain when biting on food. Details below: 3 other dentists had told me that replacing my teeth with implants was the only way to treat my advanced periodontal disease symptoms (pus and bleeding gums). I had almost lost hope that my teeth and existing bridges could be saved when I lucked into Dr. Kung. Unlike most dentists who tried to push me to their desired outcome (very costly implants), what set Dr. Kung apart was how he truly listened to my desired outcome of saving my teeth, made that his goal, and then succeeded in doing that for a very reasonable price. I recommend Dr Jason Kung' with great appreciation for the conservative approach he brought to my dental situation. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Kung after my general dentist thought I had an infected tooth that warranted a root canal. I was all prepared to undergo what I had heard was a grueling procedure even though both dentists told me that what I had expected only happened in the late stages of an infected tooth. Dr. Kung analyzed my tooth situation from all sorts of different angles, with different levels of pressure. He must've spent 35 minutes just trying to ensure that I needed a root canal. Finally, he said that if it was a root canal situation, it was very early. He recommended a conservative approach... He sanded down the top of that crown so that it and the tooth above it didn't crash into one another like it was doing right now. So he far, the suspect tooth is doing fine, the itchiness and slight pain I had are gone. Dr. Kung's diagnosis seems right on the mark, upper and lower teeth crashing into one another. Talk about looking out for the patient's welfare and best interest! Dr. Kung's office definitely keeps that at top of mind. Kudos to Dr Jason Kung! read more

Dr. Kung arrived over 30 minutes late without offering any apology or explanation. He ordered a standard x-ray instead of the 3D scan, which is nearly identical to what my general dentist offers. He rushed through the cold test in just a second and only performed the second test after I insisted that he do so. During the consultation, Dr. Kung showed a lack of initiative and care, providing no explanation of the procedure. I was charged $195 upfront, and my insurance was billed $495, totaling $690 just for the consultation. He wanted to charge $1,950 for the treatment upfront, which I find outrageous. I've been in severe pain for a few days now, so I went to my Dentist. Unfortunately, My Union benefits have ran out, therefore I had no medical or dental benefits, so I signed up for California Medi-Cal benefits. Its been great for Medical use, not so much for Dental. Not much covered other than typical cleanings, xrays. The Dentist told me that I have a severe infection above my front bridge directly on my root canal. Uuuuugh!!! She informed me that she cannot help, and referred me to an Endodontist Specialist, Dr. Jason Kung. As I drove up on the beautiful Saturday afternoon, I knew right away this was a very professional place of business, planted in the heart of Silicon Valley. As I walked in, the girls in the front were so nice and friendly. They took care of me, my paper work, and any administrative questions or concerns were addressed. I came back the next day for my appointment for re-treatment of my root canal that was infected. It was nice that the Dr. opened on Sunday just to accommodate his patients. The procedure/surgery went extremely well. I was out of pain by that night. My Union medical insurance was expired at the present moment, we were "out of pocket" clients. Dr. Jason Kung honestly surprised and shocked both my wife and I, by his willingness to work with us. He gave us a discount for "cash" paying clients, which was considerable. He even gave us a discount for the initial (referral) consultation, which that too was quite substantial. Its not often that you see some financial compassion from a Dr. with that kind of specialized practice. The high tech instrumentation , precise tooling, and the specialized powered equipment...... the whole package , Its very expensive on the norm for the procedures in this type of field, not to mentioned the beautiful office space that Silicon Valley Endodontics and Microsurgery dwells in. I had considerable pain due to a dead nerve and an infected tooth, and it was Friday evening. My dentist referred me to an endodontist that could only see me the following Monday. I left a message with Silicon Valley Endodontics and Microsurgery, and they were able to see me the next day, on a Saturday. The endodontist listened carefully to my concerns, put me at ease, took a few x-rays, and explained all my options. I went with his recommendation which was a root canal treatment, right then and there. Throughout the procedure the team did everything possible to keep me at ease and make it as painless as possible. It went really smooth, and easier and more comfortable as I could have imagined. I sent them our insurance information, not once did they tell us our insurance is not accepted! My partner and I both took the day off to accommodate this appt and handle our family. Great experience. I needed an emergency root canal and no one had any availability until 2022. Dr. Kung was the only one who was willing to accommodate me, and on Christmas Eve on top of that. I called them and left a message. They promptly responded to me via email/text about my concerns. It was very easy to make an appointment and his receptionists are cordial. His medical assistant, Samantha, who helped with my procedure, was also very nice. I was very nervous, as this was my first root canal, so Dr. Kang let me know what he was doing at every step of the procedure. He took his own x-rays before and after the procedure, so I was able to see the difference after the root canal was treated. Make sure to vocalize any discomfort you may have so he can adequately adjust how much anesthetic is injected. From consultation to completion, it took around 2 hours. Unlike many doctors, I didn't feel rushed during the consultation; he took his time addressing my concerns, which made me feel a little more reassured before the procedure. Post op was pretty simple. I took some ibuprofen to reduce inflammation. Besides from some general soreness, I felt pretty good after the procedure. Overall, I would definitely come back to see Dr. Kung again. I'll update if anything changes, but so far so good! read more
