There were zero death benefits, so we were already trying to pay for final arrangements. We asked if we could at least come get his personal items out of the car, we were told "not without paying the balance". They decided to be "nice" and give us a "deal" of $900, but we had 2 hours to come up with the money and come get the car. The deal wouldn't stand past end of business that day. We could not do this. I actually live out of state. Heartless. That's all I can say.

After I was asked for my driver's license and I calmly informed the employee that the woman in the inside had already taking my driver's license and taking a picture of it. He yelled "THAT WAS AN HOUR AGO" and was also threatened with police involvement and told I would be accused of a felony if I didn't comply, which felt extremely inappropriate, especially because I was so calm with this guy. CASH ONLY + NO RECEIPTS = YOU STOLE THE CAR BACK. I WILL CALL THE POLICE AND TELL THEM THAT YOU BROKE INTO THE BUSINESS AND STOLE YOUR CAR BACK (Felony) My vehicle was towed within about 10-11 minutes. There was no visible signage where I parked--only a small sign at the entrance of the property. I returned the next day and documented this. After looking into Illinois law (625 ILCS 5/4-203), signage must be clearly visible, and a receipt MUST be provided. This law also states that there must be a reasonable time after the car is parked in the supposedly "illegal parking spot" for tow to be persist. The lack of signage near the parking area combined with how quickly the vehicle was towed raises serious concerns about predatory towing practices. I have filed a complaint with the Illinois Attorney General and BBB.
