Guess who shops here? All kinds of people from all over Fort Bend County and Southwest Houston shop here. I enjoy shopping at this Northern Tools & Equipment in Stafford is because of diversity. It's tucked away from street view of the feeder road on Southwest Freeway. To be exact, the driveway is sandwiched between Chucky Cheese and James Coney Island Grill. I've seen trucks marked with governmental stickers and small business contractors. I knew this gotta be the most efficient store. Especially a recent remodeling helped to boost traffic and merchandise to the store. I've been here a few times years ago, it wasn't this pretty. I tried to avoid it like a plaque. For longest time, I couldn't find this place by looking at the side street address, not Southwest Freeway. Their shelves are well stocked and staff is much friendlier. Customers are more cordial than Harbor Freight or The Home Depot. Although people just couldn't understand why this Chinese man kept taking photos of orange stuff. Yeah, cuz #iLuvOrange. I too had problems at this location with customer service. I called about something I pre-purchased over 1 month ago. Everytime I called they put me on hold over 15 minutes and each salesperson was clueless in helping. This place really needs training on answering phone calls and helping properly.

I wouldn't come to this place for anything, they are high priced. They won't take a company card without you being the owner of the business, wtf. Other places would take it and even a card over the phone. Lmao

I have been going here for many years. Cashier always friendly and helpful. Finding help not always easy tho. Prices sometimes great.

Terrible customer service. Not just inept, rude to boot. Harbor Freight is a better alternative.

One woman working the register and three guys leaning on the counter. Long line for a tool that will probably break. Awesome.

They don't look down at me as I couldn't afford to buy those fancy light fixtures displayed in the front of the store. However, I found a few affordable products that I would like to outfit my house with. The saleswoman introduced herself as Yare as she showed me the product sales specs sheet on the Alcamo LED Chandelier (model 12285.02). That was a gorgeous light fixture with 8 integrated LED to stretch to 180 inches in length and can be curled to 75.5 inches height by 55 inches wide shaped as a dome. I would need a mansion to display this light. I was intrigued with the technology on how LED can illuminate in the form of a rope. I really thought that was fiber optic. Speaking of lights through a tube, I found an LED Bath Light by Modern Forms with the light tube on both sides of fixture. This light fixture with a cinema feel could jazz up my bathroom. If I add this to my bathroom, I would need to remodel the entire house. I'll keep that in mind on my next house. Yare gave me her business card and invited me to check on their website for additional lights that are not shown in the store. So, I browsed through LuminousTrends.com and found a couple of lamps as an addition to my existing lighting. I emailed her my question and she responded very quickly. Shopping at Luminous Trends is convenient. I can shop in person and online at ease.

This is a pretty amazing lighting store located in Sugarland, offering pretty spectacular products of all sorts. So it's very shiny and glitzy and gorgeous and definitely well worth the trip, especially if you happen to be in the plaza already. I like it here and I've been here on a number of occasions now. They're right next to one of our favorite Indian restaurants so we often end up browsing here afterwards. Their selection is amazing even though prices are a little high.

I have used Nextdoor Electric once for actual work and also obtained three quotes from them. My…read moreusual electrical company, Blue Electrical Contractors, was super busy so I decided to try Nextdoor based on their Yelp reviews. I had them take down an old outdoor ceiling fan from my back porch and install two new ceiling lights: one in the same spot as the ceiling fan and the other over the seating area to provide more light (see photo). The job cost $572 which I thought was a little bit high, but I wanted the work done. Two big issues with the job: First of all, the technician didn't install the round ceiling light insulation discs in each fixture (see photo) which is to my understanding required to meet Underwriters Laboratory requirements. (The insulation is used to reflect heat from incandescent bulbs.) He also cracked one of the plastic conduit hangers so that it was actually broke. I found the insulation thrown in the garbage and had to dig them back out and have the technician come back to put them in and replace the broken hanger. Also, wasn't really keen on the fact that he used plastic hangers vs. metal to hang the conduit. Another issue was that I wanted a multi-outlet switch in my garage changed out to a standard outlet; see photo. Nextdoor quoted me $187 to change it out. Caido, from Blue Electrical Contractors stopped by and I had him look at it. It was only a cover; Caido unscrewed one screw and the regular outlet was underneath. I could have done it had I known this. It took Caid 5 seconds to take the multi-outlet cover off and he didn't charge me a thing. Okay. This is ridiculous! $187??!! This shows me the technician from Nextdoor Electric didn't even know what he was quoting. I was speaking to Caido from Blue Electric about Nextdoor and how I will never use them again, but can't understand their great reviews. Caido was telling me that Nextdoor's reviews could be fake and/or purchased. I really am questioning these reviews. I will never have them do any work for me again. Go with Blue Electric the next time you need electrical work; I have used them for years.
