I don't even know where to start with the disappointment. I really wish spectrum was available in my complex but its not atm so i went with Vyve and what a mistake that was. Technician hooked my internet up wrong and didnt have internet for 24 hrs, called tech support if u wanna call it that and got told another tech couldn't come out for a week. Fixed it myself by removing the splitter they attached ,I get half the speed of the gig internet i pay for and than on top of it all i have been waiting on a call for a static ip address so that i can game properly and have yet to get a call back. Talked with an agent on Wednesday and for some reason my account was suspended and got told it was fixed but i needed to still wait on my request.Who charges for nat type.....Vyve does30 bucks a month extra for something that should come standard smh.Ive only been with this company for 2 weeks and im already done and looking for other options. Frustrating, frustrating, frustrating! I want to scream at someone. I moved here spring of 2024. It appears Vyve is the only provider in Horseshoe Bay. First, the cost is double what I paid formerly. Next, Technical Support is of no use. 1. My internet/phone service was down for six days, it took that long for a service Technician to come out. The technician, not a Vyve employee, but a contracted technician, took out the battery and it worked! Technical Support couldn't have told me to do that? 2. I had to fight with them to get six days credit for the outage and they only gave me five days. Lied to me about the amount. 3. The VM button, *98, says it is a disconnected number. Technical Support tells me to call my number to get to my voice mail. Tells me there is no number to call. I shouldn't have to call my number to get to my voice mail when there is a drect button on the phone. 4. The display on my phone shows "New Message". There isn't a new message and they cannot tell me how to get rid of it. Please! We need another option in Horseshoe Bay. read more

They don't respond to emails or it takes them weeks/almost a month, trying to call is almost as bad. The customer service said they can't turn off my internet until "the end of the billing cycle per company protocol" meaning they will make me pay the full month even if I'm requesting to close the account 5 days into the billing cycle. Have used Northland and now Vyve network for a good number of years. Their service has always been reliable and sufficiently fast. We had an outage here yesterday and I called for service. The Technician was friendly with an easy smile. He made me feel as a valued customer. He isolated the problem in an expertly efficient way. Then had our network up in just a few minutes. In other words, planning, supporting and building your own infrastructure would be faster and cheaper than dealing with them. CROOKS -- DO NOT USE! I needed 2 phone lines for monitoring our sprinkler system. Instead, they sold me their top of the line high speed internet service for over $250/month for a 5 year contract. We don't even have a computer at that location and so had no use for internet. I was unfamiliar with the technology so they took advantage of me. Then, they didn't bill me for 4 months so by the time they did, I already owed over $1000 and the grace period to back out of the contract had expired. They did that on purpose. I returned their equipment to their Marble Falls office immediately upon realizing my mistake. Now they have turned me over to a collection agency for the value of the entire contact of over $15,000. They can take me to court. I think my story holds up. read more

1. I got messages today from Vyve that I was almost over my data cap and would be billed for overages. 2. No data cap was ever mentioned in any contract, but Vyve now offers unlimited data for an extra $50/month which they tried to upsell me when i called. 3. I got no response from their web chat service, so I was forced to call them and was on the phone for 1.5 hours with no resolution. 4. The billing cycle starts on the 16th, but I was informed that data usage is tracked from the 1st, which makes no sense since that data is literally paid for by my previous bill. I have 9% of my monthly data left for the remaining two weeks despite being only three days into the billing cycle. This is quite likely illegal. 5. I have been getting emails purporting to be from Vyve that listed my account # but had PDF attachments and the email did not trace to Vyve. The Vyve customer service rep told me that those emails are not from Vyve and she told me to not open the pdf's. This suggests that the Vyve customer database has been hacked and is being used for malicious purposes. 6. The website that I was notified to use to track my data usage is not from Vyve. It is not secure, requiring only the Vyve account number and zip code to access data usage. However, the normal account number does not work. Inexplicably, the website requires the last 6 digits of the account number, which is not specified anywhere. It is troubling that anyone anywhere in the world can view my data usage. 7. There have been lengthy unannounced outages recently during the middle of the workday with no warning from Vyve, no apologies, and no compensation for lost service. read more

Disclaimer: this review is only for Northland's internet service, as I don't have cable television through them. I have had three different internet providers in this area and Northland Cable is by far the best. I pay about $55 a month for my connection, which is about par for the course in this section of the state. I have had bills from other providers as low as $40, but it was for much slower service. In the three years I have had internet service from Northland we have had one outage. One. In three years. If you don't think this is amazing, you clearly aren't familiar with the internet service quality in Marble Falls, Texas. This one outage was repaired within hours. I have had to call technical support when I set up my wireless router. Even though router installation isn't a service included from the company, the technician patiently helped me get everything set up on my end, and there was no time spent on hold at all before I was speaking to an actual human tech. A very nice change of pace from my usual tech support calls. One month I forgot to pay my bill and when I finally remembered I was worried I would be charged a late fee. However, not only did Northland not turn my service off (I didn't realize until the next month's bill was due), but I wasn't even charged a late fee because I had been on time with all of my previous payments. Again, quite a change of pace. I even received a call one day asking if my internet service was working. There had been a lightning storm that morning so I had unplugged the cable box and not plugged it back in before I went to work, and Northland called to check up and make sure everything was still working okay. In an age when it's hard for me to get a tech on the phone when I want to (from other businesses), it's nice to actually receive a call from a tech just to check up on things. I highly recommend Northland Cable to anyone in the Marble Falls area that is looking for internet service. I know nothing about their cable television or telephone services, but if they're anything like the internet service then I know you'll be pleased with them as well. read more

I have been complaining for years about the spotty service here, to the point that I have Nick Stover's personal cellphone number. When I'm working (I work at home and NEED this connection) I lose conference calls. I lose VPN connections. I'm unable to work on projects that depend on any external resource because the connection is unstable. But night is the worst. Video games disconnect, videos and movies buffer - it took me two tries to submit this complaint! You guys have re-run an underground cable to me that was only a couple of years old. You've replaced equipment at the post in my yard. You've had cable techs replace short circuiting equipment at the local node. You've caught idiots in the apts across the street stealing cable. You've upgraded equipment and probably spent everywhere but where you need to - you need to split the node. I need more throughput. I'm in an unusual position. Because of my location I can get cable from you or from Charter. I prefer you, if for no other reason than you forced me to pay 3000 dollars for this connection that only works sometimes. I feel like I need to get that money back somehow. You sell the cable internet. You sold it to me, and charged me 3k to give it to me for the privilege of getting billed every month. You sold it, so now give me my money's worth. I'm tired. Please, just so I don't have to go through the trouble of screaming to high heaven online about how horrible the connection is, just so I didn't completely waste 3000 dollars, just so I have one less problem in a long list of problems, fix it. You know I'm old school when it comes to problem solving. Problems are simply a fact of life. The problem is not problems it's how they get handled. When it comes to Northland they seem to, at least in my experience, to waste no time making a sincere effort to solve them. For that I'm am thankful. I want to say most problems get mishandled because the firms support staff simply handle it by some predetermined policy which rarely considers the customer. Larson who has been with Northland for over 34 years is a rare find. I definitely would not have stayed with Northland except for his exceptional service. He keeps me thinking firms still appreciate the human touch Well I guess the house is back to needing serious repair. I have a couple of options both more expensive but at least dependable. I really hate changing providers but Northland is really expensive when you do the math of what speed you really end up getting. You can't reach this office by phone. You have to drive over to the office physically. I needed to return my box to them and when I showed up their computers were down and they had to give me a hand written receipt. That was 10 months ago. Apparently they never turned it in and so about four months ago I started getting these collection calls. I explained to them that I had turned it in and that they had given me a hand written receipt, however, it was almost 10 months ago, and I have moved since then so I no longer have the receipt. I explained this to the collection people every time they called, six times. Nonetheless, I turned in the box but still had to pay the stupid hundred dollars because these people are idiots. Northland has a ridiculous amount of service outages. I have been using them since October 2017 and have had at least 15 major outages that have lasted 6+ hours and several periods of sudden slowness where the internet is too slow to use. I am currently forced to use them because the apartment I'm at uses them but I will be avoiding them at all costs in the future. read more

We have been using Vyve for less than a month when our internet constantly started going off and on. So, we called to have someone take a look and see if the problem could be fixed. The next day, our phone service with them got shut off, meaning we have to use a cell phone to call them, and they hang up on us when we do. We may have to pay $175.00 early termination fee when we find another provider, but this one provides nothing but grief. read more

When you need a technician to come to your house to fix their problems (even though the problem isn't occurring on your property) they require that you take off from work to be at home. This is by far the worst, most unreliable internet service I've ever had. Not only is it slow but when it's actually working, it goes out at least once a day. Currently, even since their latest fiber optic (or whatever it's called) upgrade, our service yet again has been out for 3 days and counting. We've gone weeks several times without service. Service is awful. My internet was out for 3 weeks. I called their over night answering service for a week and left messages but never a returned call. Their business hours are my working hours, and when I'm available during lunch to call them, they are on their hour lunch break. I refused to pay a full months bill when I didn't receive service for 3/4 of it and then received a FULL bill in the mail the following month with late fees. The only way you can get something done with this company is to go into their office yourself and even then, don't get your hopes up. When they finally sent a service guy out, he was supposed to come by between the hours of 3 and 5. He arrived at 7 as we were leaving our home to celebrate our anniversary. If I could do 0 stars I would. I'm constantly having to unplug and plug the power to the router. I've called 5 times and nothing. Finally I had to get angry in order for someone to actually do something other then to tell me to unplug the power for 20 sec and for them to restart my router from there side. Finally a month later someone came out when I wasn't home. Made there own time to come out. Didn't ask what time was good for me. And on top of that, they said they fixed the problem... I've had to put up with Northland for 3 years because they are the only game in town unless I wanted to switch to satellite. I can't do that because those services can't guarantee I can get behind my firewall at work. Yes, I work from home. Bad luck for me that not only do I have to depend on Northland for television but also have to rely on them for Internet. Their service is totally unreliable. Here we are in football season and all we see on our HD channels are artifacts. We pay a lot of money to Northland for really bad service. The main cable that comes into our neighborhood on the Burnet side of Lake LBJ comes from the Llano side. And guess where that cable runs? Right under the lake! And is it in a conduit? Of course not. Rating a one star is too much for them. The people at the local office are a bunch of idiots. The service is horrible. I pay around $75 per month for just their 12mbps speed Internet (2nd fastest they offer). Mind you this is speeds up to 12mbps. I call customer service at least once a month, if not more, because my Internet is down. It always seems to go down when the local office is closed too. Tech support does whatever they can and walk you through troubleshooting things and wastes your time. Need a technician to come out and fix your issues? Well you could potentially be without Internet for days! I hate that they have a monopoly in Marble Falls, especially if you live in apartment complex. I miss having Time Warner Cable. I paid around $100/month for Internet AND extended cable with TWC and never experienced any outages. Not even when the entire town was without services because of the bridge demolition! Then I went by their advice and signed up for the internet/cable bundle at a very reasonable price. They told me I wasn't under contract and could cancel either service at any time. So after a couple months we realized we weren't using the cable very much so I called to cancel the cable but keep the internet. They told us we could do it, but our internet price would DOUBLE! I refuse to pay a bill for 30 days of internet where at the most I probably get 22, that's how often this terrible internet goes out. The WiFi is slow and somehow the bill started at $70 a month and is now $90???? Called on a Saturday to get a service call and they tell me the earliest anyone can get out to my house is the following Friday between 8-12.. I have a job, how is anyone supposed to be home then? I have been moving around the country for the past 5 years and have dealt with various communications companies. NORTHLAND Communications is by far the WORST cable and Internet provider that I have dealt with thus far. Our cable and internet service is constantly down. We have NEVER been given an account credit when we have lost hours of productivity due to connectivity issues. To top it off, they are far more expensive then most providers. If you move to the Horseshoe Bay TX area, do yourself a favor and get satellite instead of cable and a hot spot device and a cell phone from a mobile provider. Otherwise you will spend countless hours calling the local office and technical support for help or wait days for a technician to come fix the problem due to the long list of service calls they have ahead of you.
